Came here tonight for a family meal for my daughters 18th. The service was fantastic , first class service! The food was amazing !!! Best curry i have tasted for a very long time. Everything cooked fresh and to perfection with big portions and the staff went above and beyond for us . Quiet family , friendly pub . We will be regular visitors here. Would highly reccomend this place !!! Thank you so much for a fantastic evening guys , we are very happy customers . Compliments to the chef and thank you to the lovely gentleman that served our table tonight . Amazing service !!

I been there for dinner today with family. Food was yummy with good portion. Staff were friendly and provided best service. I loved fish pakora and chilli chicken. I would like to recommend family and friend to spend quality time there with mouth watering food 😋

My extended family went to a wake here in November 2023. Paid £300 for a buffet, had 3 trays of sandwiches brought out, total sandwiches just about equated to 1 loaf of bread. Out of date crisps from June 2023. 1 bowl of samosas. 1 tray of cocktail sausages. A member of the party once the out of date crisps were all gone, was charged £4.50 for 2 packets of mini cheddars and a packet of quavers. As you can see this is far from £300 worth of food.

I ate chicken curry and lamb,burger,chilli chips, tikkia masala,spicy chilli wings ,tandoori Mix grill, garlic and cheese naan, we visit with nine people and they’re food is lovely also they have a great car park and we watched some on the matches on.Their costumer service is amazing.I come here regular and I 100% sure you should come.I’ll give it 5 stars because it’s so nice

Food was very nice and not to badly priced. Just had both the guy serving us and the guy from the kitchen getting moody at us when the order for something as simple as a plain cheese burger was messed up.

Dinner time drink walked in waited at the bar to get served not impressed. .

Took a chicken tikka sizzler home today was very disappointed. A regular customer here and food is usually nice although this time the chicken was pink and not even ediable. Needs more cooking.

Good friendly pub and good service

I ordered from here for first time a couple of days ago. This was the best indian food that I have ever ate in the UK ever. The chicken dish and chilli paneer and rotis were 100/100 and the poppadoms were so fresh as well as the somasas. I have ordered indian from 1000s of places in my life but must say I have never enjoyed the food more than I did here - I mean compared to my normal place (Heritage India) it is liek company mud to diamonds. Absolutely stunning and fresh food - unbelievable

Pub by a industrial estate. No ale but looks like a Greene King pub so sold shipyard which was decent quality. Reasonably busy, good for families

Favourite pub as the food is sooo good! The cook is very friendly and attentive, we have been many time now and sampled most of the curries, every dish was unique and delicious. Very comfortable restaurant and plenty of parking. No complaints, we love the Chartwell!

Nice pub. Only nipped in 4 a quick drink. Only problem i av was ther was only 1 choice ov non alcoholic drinks wich was gin.

I accidently ordered a delivery from here, I won't make the same mistake again. Veg dansak with frozen veg, including sweetcorn lamb byranian, with lamb that tasted similar to corned beef and a sauce with no veg. Chicken korma and lamb rogan josh nothing to write home about, neither were the pickles with the poppadoms and the onion bhajis seemed to have been microwaved. Second worst take out ever had, comes second to the Crown in Fleckney. AVOID!!!

Enjoyed lunch in this pub, sat in the lounge, service was top class, food was lovely, staff member went out her way to help me, food nice and hot, presentation of food was 5 star, will go back again soon..

I've been to this pub twice, first time was pretty good, nice server who could have a laugh and joke but the second time was absolutely piss poor. We arrived at 5:45 pm, were first served at 6:30 pm by a nice man in a jumper, then a fight broke out which was entertaining but little did we know that was sadly the highlight of this place. We ask for menus at this point. Around 7:30 pm another server comes and gives us more drinks, we enquired about food to which we were told they couldn't serve us and the chef would be out soon to do that for us. Well that was a flat out lie. We waited until 9:30 and still NO food service. Hungry and annoyed we left The Chartwell Arms, which was now no longer serving food at all. If you want a bite to eat with your drinks go to The Manor instead! They actually care about serving their customers instead of only the regulars.

Last time we came here the food was excellent and again we had a very enjoyable meal. Ordered the burger for our Son and we both had curries (Balti & a Saag) both were delicious. Portion sizes just right. The naan bread is so light and crispy I could eat that on it’s own...The only thing left was empty plates. Great value too! Please give this place a go if you’ve not tried it as you won’t be sorry you did.

Pleasant staff and a great curry

Had not been for quite a while. So did not know what to expect. We went at lunchtime. Friendly staff showed us to the table. Served our drinks at the table. Large menu especially for Indian food. Small menu for English food. We all chose different Indian food. Complimentary poppodoms and pickles. The food was excellent. As good as any Indian restaurants that we have been too and reasonable prices. Would recommend this pub and restaurant.

Well went to a wake today....was supposed to be 11am only the chef there trying to serve behind the bar. Me and the missus jumped behind the bar to serve everyone.! Say no more!!

We had a buffet meal laid on by the owners, the food was very good cooked perfect. From all the starters to the mains with lots of meat in every dish.

We went last night to use a groupon voucher for 2 steak meals and a bottle of wine . The staff were really lovely and friendly , the wine was good and the steaks were delicious . They were cooked exactly as we like them and were juicy and tender and the pepper sauce was delicious too. We will definitely go back .

Brunch visit on a quite Sunday. Place is dark and there’s no music. We had a groupon deal for two breakfasts for £8 which is good value but the breakfast is average, toast could have been more done. Service was good.

Just wanted to write a review to say we have just experienced probably the best curry ever. Really tasty and great value for money and really helpful staff Definately be returning!

Called in for lunch on a Groupon for burger and beer, tasty food, well presented, friendly staff. Facilities could do with an update but overall would definitely go again. Well done.

Good time with friends and family

Looked on Groupon for somewhere local to eat and found here. When we turned up we were a bit apprehensive as it was empty at 4.30pm but staff were friendly and when the meal came( rump steak and chips and a bottle of wine) it was cooked perfect and can't fault any of it well done guys. We'll worth the money try them out

We were totally unaware of this pub until we arrived to try the Groupon curry and beer offer. There was plenty of space in the car park and the staff could not have been more friendly. We tend to avoid curry on pub menus, but this was the real thing, with a choice of curry styles and strengths. My wife had the tawa and was delighted with the taste. My chicken Madras came with plenty of meat and was full of flavour. The side serving of chilli pickle certainly added even more of a kick. Both dishes were generous helpings but the rice servings were huge and the fresh naan breads really rounded off a great meal. We studied the menu for ideas for future visits and also drooled over the steaks being carried through to a nearby table. One thing is certain, having found the pub, we will be back.

Me and my partner have visited here for food about 3 times now, and we have just had a takeaway from there. Hardeep is beyond helpful when choosing from the indian food menu, he gives you other choices and recommends the best dishes. He also gives you great value for money. The food is full of flavour and is a great portion size. Its the best indian food weve had for a long time, I would highly recommend this place for quality food at a great price. They also do steaks which we are yet to try, We will definitley be back for more!! Thanks Hardeep

Hospitality is good. Beer at reasonable prices. The food is good also at reasonable prices. A very nice place for a lunch or evening out.

Not visited since it was taken over. Ordered fish and chips and mushy peas for our lad and we had a Jalfrezi and a Kharai curry. Food was served quickly and we got hot plates and a food warmer. We have eaten in lots of Indian restaurants and our curry’s were delicious and of restaurant standards. Obviously home made and fresh Nan bread was really crisp and light and the rice was perfect. Nice that we could enjoy a curry whilst our lad could eat what he wanted. We will come back and probably order the same dish! Thanks for a great meal!

Fantastic lunch today! Service was exceptional, much like the food too. Very excited to come back and check out their Indian platter deals. They were very accommodating with our two children and I also noticed a pool table and darts board too in their bar area which looks in great condition. Looking forward to going there again!

This pub is not far from where we live . Last time we went there it was The Pouchers pocket. When we saw the Groupon voucher thought we'd give it ago.

Very nice setting. Good service. Basically and indian restaurant in a pub. Prefer not to be called matey and wife didn't like being called 'lady' every time, as in 'heres your drink lady'.

Have eaten a few times here and Food is amazing. The chefs are amazing cooks. You must try their home made curry. It’s much better than any Indian restaurant I’ve been too.

Since the renovation and new ownership at the chartwell things have really changed for the better. It’s a lovely place to be. We’ve been numerous times now, as a couple and as a family.

I visit this pub quite regularly. Staff are welcoming, particularly the landlord who is very friendly and helpful. Nice range of pub food on offer. Clean and tidy and recently refurbished. My favourite drink is Fosters, and this pub serves a perfect pint! If, like me, you like Fosters lager, I recommend this pub without hesitation!

We didn’t know about this place until we saw a deal on groupon. Purchased breakfast for 2 with tea or coffee for £8. Made the reservation online for 11am on a Friday and we arrived a bit early so went to screwfix next door. Waited till 11:10am the place still not open so we gave them a call to confirm if are open. They confirmed the staff was running a bit and they don’t serve food till 11:20am... 😓 But anyway we were starving but decided to waited as groupon said they cannot cancel the reservation. Turned out the food was okay... a little on the salty side for me... but overall with that price not a bad breakfast. Even normal price £5 for the breakfast I would happily pay for it 👍

Went for Sunday dinner. Food was lovely

We called in today after a 3 month absence due to illness and were horrified! Dogs, by a very prominent notice on the door are no longer welcome in the bar area which was where we always frequented for our drinks and our Sunday Lunches. Now, as far as we are concerned after being long term customers since it was the 'Poachers Pocket' we are also deemed as being unwelcome.

Brilliant meal, well looked after by the staff. Curry is as good as any indian resturant if not better. Very well priced.

Amazing meal very good price and brilliant service.. Miller and Carter cannot touch this place. Highly recommend 5 stars all the way. The website currently shows as closed. The restaurant has been refurbished and is open as usual the phone line may still be down however.

Was recommended to come back here after so many years and it's great to see that someone has taken it over giving it the tlc it deserves. Meals are great, good value for money and the service is second to none. Plenty to choose from and there is a good selection of drink. Made to feel very welcome and part of the family. Fuimos y tuvimos una cena asado encantador. El personal era muy servicial e hizo madre sin gluten la salsa. Tienen un menú sin gluten gratis con una gran variedad. Menú vegetariano muy bueno también. La comida era caliente y estaba bien preparado. Carne y patatas aparte cayó gran puré crujiente
