Visitamos aquí un groupon que incluía Jazz y un plato de queso y carne. A la llegada de una banda de versiones modernas estaban jugando muy bien y cubrir arriba cuando fuimos a que tome asiento para terminó la comida y el jazz. La junta fuente era delicioso con una increíble chutney, tenía una pasta de langosta que principal era increíble. El servicio fue fabuloso y la banda de jazz tocaba perfectamente a una pequeña multitud de íntimo. No puedo esperar para volver.

Visité una noche de jazz. Hay puntos buenos y malos. Bueno: buena música, participando banda, entorno campo íntimas, personal amable, no estaba lleno en absoluto. Hasta ahora tan bueno. Malo: nos recibió entonces la camarera desapareció para las edades. Fuimos al bar para pedir las bebidas, pero no podía ya que era el servicio de mesa. Ella finalmente tomó nuestra orden y luego tuvimos que esperar años de nuevo para el plato vegetariano aunque cuando llegamos me dijo que sabía que había reservado la opción vegetariana, así que pensé que debería estar listo. Después pedimos comidas. Mi elección no estaba disponible, así que tuve que ir para el risotto, la única otra opción vegetariana. Cuando este llegó, parecía como un plato de arroz. Went with friends on a Thursday night, we have a blast. From the staffs, music and food. Love it!!! Will definitely back again. Thanks guys for the amazing time!!

A great little (tiny!) bar with friendly if very inefficient staff. Reasonable prices and if you get there before 12 on a Saturday you're probably going to get a seat. Music not too loud so possible to hold a conversation too!

Visited last Tuesday for the Jazz evening on a Groupon deal . Staff very helpful but service was a bit chaotic as everyone arrives at once . However we were allocated a lovely table and enjoyed our meat and cheese platter starter and martini cocktail . Pizzas were lovely too . Group were great and sang well known music . Great intimate venue appealing to all ages . Would come again . Thank you

Charterhouse Bar is very close to Barbican Station. We went there the first time yesterday and had a nice evening. The bar staff was friendly, the wine and prices were absolutely okay and we enjoyed our stay.The restrooms downstairs were clean, the music was okay and we were sitting outside. We would come again. We liked that the place wasn't overcrowded (Tuesday past 6pm) and the atmosphere was good.Forgot a bag with my lunchbox and scarf inside, called them and can pick it up later.Thanks guys, we would definately come over again.

Went for the dinner jazz evening -terrible service. Served my boyfriend his food 30 minutes before my food arrived. No explanation offered. If wanted to eat on my own would have gone on my own. Very unorganised

Fantastic comedy and cocktails combo. Cannot be beaten on price and location. Great venue for a midweek laugh with friends or colleagues.Highlights of the night were the Fish and OMG fat chips as well as the Lovely waiter who made a refreshing 'special' cocktail for us on a Wednesday night. Went to this place for a live jazz night. Overall this wasn't bad and the place nice and intimate. About the jazz, I'm not a real exist, but frankly I was expecting more a traditional one and not only swing.As part of the deal, we've been a shared platter, but this was a bit stingy on stuff. However the free drink and the 2 4 1 on drinks before eight compensated.

Bought a groupon deal for the Comedy night with a cocktail included. Bought a meal and it is delicious. The comedy night was one of the funniest I've ever been to and I laughed my socks off.Well worth a visit for both the food, drinks and a great comedy night.

Booked a voucher deal which included a cheese and meat platter and a drink each. We ordered olives a foccia bread. Really nice, the staff were so accommodating. Great atmosphere and venue. Well worth a night out

Visited on a Tuesday evening for Laura's jazz performance. Laura's voice was good, and the drums not overpowering as in many pub gigs. The jazz was not avant-garde, and included many well-known classics, finishing with a fine rendition of "Georgia on my mind".I shared a platter with my husband, and the staff had been very accommodating in my husband's gluten-free requirement. It was adequate as a snack, and complemented the excellent "dark and stormy" cocktails we chose. Pizza seems to be a very popular dish, as many of the punters went for this.The staff were very attentive but not overly.Please note that this is a pub venue, and therefore not highly salubrious (not a criticism). Therefore, dress code is not too demanding!

The venue tries hard but to not serve non alcoholic drinks and to make you feel a loser for asking is a bit odd. The bar staff were stuck up and I hope all fellow travellers avoid it.

Myself and my husband were in London for a few nights and I wanted something different to see on our last night and found a great deal on Groupon for the Charterhouse Bar comedy night with 2 free cocktails per person. I love the character of this bar, it has a really lovely cosy feel. The bartenders seemed very distracted and a bit all over the place, but that is the only (slight) negative that I could say. As for the comedy..we had a great time...especially as the alcohol flowed. The comedians were a bit hit and miss, but the mc was really funny and great with the audience. We spent the whole night laughing and had a brilliant time....would definitely recommend this!

The quality of live music was great! The service is friendly and attentive. The wines are a bit pricey, but it’s London, not France or Luxembourg, and there are budget beer options.I didn’t try the food but saw others munching with happy faces. My friend decided to have his thirtieth here recently and I don't think he could have found anywhere better. We had the upstairs booked but ended up having most of the venue to ourselves. The bar staff were friendly, they let us control the music, the drinks were delish and reasonably priced and the upstairs is a great place for dancing. The downstairs even had the RWC playing which was a bonus! Awesome venue!

I've been going to Charterhouse for a few years now as it is always a great night. The staff are fun and friendly, the atmosphere is laid back and the venue is small enough to be intimate, but large enough to let loose and have a good boogie. Recently celebrated my 30th here and as usual the staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Sadly the kitchen was closed as the chef had been taken into hospital but the barstaff went out of their way to organise a very hefty discount on a local pizza place and arranged for pizzas to be delivered in to the bar. They also allowed me to set up my own playlist for the upstairs dance floor and gave us free reign over the sound system, stepping in to help when we had "technical difficulties".All-in-all, a brilliant, laid back bar which makes you feel very welcome and always a great time. I will be coming back here for many years to come no doubt.

Got in with a Voucher £40 worth of food and drinks and we received 2 cocktails and only one portion of a starter. Even though was not even close to be worth £40 I asked for the food menu to spend good time with my girlfriend. The waiter said that that day they had a standing chef (???) who was not meant to cook anything else but the starter (a selection of ham, salami and cheeses). Therefore the kitchen was closed at 8.15 pm and they could only offer NUTS for dinner.

We went to the Charterhouse for the express intent of listening to Lauren Bush. Lauren offers upbeat, contemporary jazz, r&b, soul and pop - in the likes of Amy, Aretha, Corinne, Stevie, Bill (Withers) - you get it. We were not disappointed with the show and the backing on keyboards and drums. What was value added was the warm, intimate and comfortable atmosphere - all that complemented by an attentive and friendly staff who made sure we were satisfied. The refreshments included with the admission - minimal but delicious - was perfectly suited to a relaxed evening. The venue was full and very quickly in to the show, the audience was toe-tapping, finger-snapping, and "in the groove". What a great evening. This would be a great show to include on your vacation list or as part of your city entertainment regime. You could come back here and soak up the good feeling more than once.

We had lunch and found the atmosphere great. The service was definitely above and beyond. A great place for a fun lunch.

妻とのロンドン旅行の際に訪問しました。バービカンでのロンドン交響楽団演奏会前の夕食です。ロンドンはあまりに物価が高いので、クーポン・サイトでバービカン近辺をくまなく探すと、このお店で格安のクーポンが・・。暗い店内ですが、小さなバケツのフライドポテトとサラダ、そしてカリカリ香ばしいハンバーガーは中々の美味です。ロンドンにしてはとっても美味しいハンバーガーでした。

Very disappointed. Was there for a first time and its look like my face didnt fit in. After baying a round of drinks got nok on my sholder and Was asked by dòormen to go with him. I Did go with him. to find out that i am not welcome there. What was that about.

A good venue to watch a film (inception) at a good price as you get snacks and your first beer thrown in. Cheerful helpful staff. The only minor complaint is they could do with some more comfortable chairs as I had a bit of a numb backside after nearly three hours of sitting on a wooden dining chair. Apart from that minor issue an enjoyable evening.

Let's start with the positives:- Staff are very friendly and informative so kudos to that.- Prices are good or even one could say cheaper, considering the part of the city it's in.- We went for the jazz evening, yes we went with a voucher, no fuss, good singer (he), good band, good set.So all in all we had a good evening, but one thing bothers me;On their website you are invited to "an evening with Canadian vocalist Lauren Bush performing two sets of songs,made famous in the world of Jazz, Soul and Motown by artistes such as Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross among many others. And can expect songs like: Back to BlackValerieTears Dry On Their OwnSigned Sealed DeliveredAin’t No Mountain High Enough" It also claims -while you are booking- it lasts 3 hours.Now, if I'm not mistaken massively, our singer wasn't Lauren given that we listened to an English chap. The songs -although I still enjoyed the whole Michael Buble theme- were nowhere near Motown, neither it included any modern day songs (he still sang Valerie at the end, I'll give him that). And on top, it lasted 2 hours.So, it's all nice and well delivering a nice evening however not very nice on when what you advertise and what you deliver varies massively.

We came for a voucher deal including a platter (to share), two cocktails and a jazz concert for 19.99 pounds. We really enjoyed! The place is very small so it's quite easy to create a nice intimate atmosphere. The concert was cool, (btw, we were impressed by the keyboard player... such a good artist!). Anyway, the show in general was really enjoyable, exactly what we were expecting of a jazz night. The staff friendly, even if they push a little bit to make you order some extra cocktails (the concert is two hours long, so your cocktail lasts just part of the show)...but I can understand, I suppose they don't get a real profit through the groupon deal but the extra you consume. Especially because they provide you a good quality platter (we tasted the meat one). Thanks, a very nice experience indeed!

Good job that this was a free voucher that was given to me as I would have created a scene! The slow service and value for money in this place was dire! There was not a clear description of what was meant by 'FOOD' on the voucher. It turns out the the 'food' was a 2 sharing plater with cold meat and cheese and 3 small circular slices of french stick.My voucher was for 4 people at a value of £80. This is supposed to be for live jazz, food and a cocktail each.The cocktail was so small in very shallow glass 2 gulps and it was gone??? On the menu the cocktails were £8 and the sharing plater was £17????? You are pulling my leg!!!!! We weren't given any other choices for food.We had to order additional food which cost a further £34. In all fairness the burgers were superb. We had 3/4 hour to order additional food before they closed the kitchen. (between 8-8.45) We only discovered this on asking. We had to ask for a menu. The band were ok. drummer and keys with a female vocalist. She had a nice voice. Nothing earth shattering. I wouldn't make another booking here. Really wasn't the special night it should have been for celebrating my daughter birthday. In my opinion, don't bother. If you want a good night book Ronnie Scotts or The Hideaway.

We came for a voucher deal which consisted of some sort of Mediterranean platter with wine and a string quartet playing. First of all the musicians were fantastic and created a wonderful ambiance as we sipped our wine, nibbled on our various anti-pasti type items and listened to the glorious classical music on offer. We did have to share a table but it didn't bother us as we chatted a little but were able to have our own conversations in private owing to the music. All in all we had a lovely evening.

first this is my opinion . so dissarpointed in this amazon meal deal :( as the two guys running it were so friendly , and the food presentation was good . trouble was our food wasn't ordered on arrival !! one didn't know what the other was doing , when it came 30mins later !! onion rings stone cold :( will the chips had a whole salt pot tip on them it tasted like yuk :( burger cold just a few bits of ripped pork ( cold) to be seen :(never again !!hope if you go you have a hot meal oh the beers were cold too pleased to answer an comments or questions

this is a top place to go for cocktails, drinks etc. they put on variety of stuff, good food, great staff. recommended. i have always had a great time at this bar. one of my favourite places to go for a cocktail/drinks in London

Went to this bar in Farringdon for their Tuesday Jazz night and had a brilliant time. We had a Groupon voucher which entitled us to one drink each and a platter of meats cheese and bread and it was delicious. The jazz band were very good too and had the everyone clapping and singing. The menu was good and although we did not eat anything else the food served looked scrummy. Fab night with good facilities and friendly staff, would recommend this venue.

Went here after a Groupon purchase - probably about £8.00 per person.The food was fantastic, the bar staff were fun and friendly, the atmosphere was nice and cosy.The guy who came to take our order and bring our food out was really enthusiastic and polite.We each had the pulled pork burger with chips and ordered a side of onion rings - I am VERY fussy with my food - the pork was beautiful! The chips were handmade and cooked well - not greasy at all. Can't complain about this bar!

This bar is near Smithfield market not far from the Barbican, nice bar with really nice staff even though they seem a little disorganised.we were a four group we enjoyed our evenning with nice drinks and food and good musicworth a visit

Fuimos a tomar allí unas hamburguesas de carne cerdo desmenuzado, estaban riquísimas, muy sabrosas y bien de cantidad, venían servidas con dos acompañamientos unas patatas y unos aros de cebolla, muy rico todo. El lugar tiene mucho ambiente, la música quizás estaba un poco alta, pero se podía mantener una conversación sin problemas.El personal del local muy amable y siempre con una sonrisa cuando te atienden.Por cierto, tienen wifi, genial para los que somos de fuera :)

I love the Charterhouse for many reasons. The cocktails are great, the food is homey and delicious, they have nights out like comedy and live music and it's a chill place to have a good time.

I've always loved the Charterhouse Bar, I work nearby so it's alway's been great for a cheeky lunchtime pint in the heart of super cool Farringdon but it's so much more than that.Great service, great food and always lot's of fun, I've been to so many cool parties and we always end up back at the Charterhouse at the end of the evening. Lovely staff, great cocktails, fantastic venue.

Comedy night was absolutely dreadful. The comedians are not funny! Cocktails are lush and well received. Didn't try the food but it looked nice. I will not return to this venue as the ambiance was all wrong.

Terrible, except if you are thirsty. What more can I say? - oh yes, its an interesting shape. Like a wedge.

The food was pretty good for the price, we weren't exactly expecting 5* but in London a good bar should be able to produce respectable food. The food was just that, a respectable effort, even if it won't set your world alight. We went on an Amazon Local deal - burger, chips, coleslaw, onion rings and beers so it was a pretty good price (I think around £16) for the quantity and quality of food. It was a Monday night so we weren't expecting it to be too busy, but they were running a niche cinema upstairs which meant there were a few more people than we had expected which was nice. The wash facilities left a little to be desired though.

I'm lucky this bar is just minutes from the office,and i've been coming here since 2000, Never ever been disappointed, whether its been for lunch,after work drinks or occassionally dropping in at weekend ! Had birthday celebratory drinks recently and staff were outstanding, they made sure my guests & i were really well looked after.Food is always good,the mini slider burgers are phenomenal.Great drinks selection, good music..great vibe..and u know its good when your friends are msging you the next day telling what a fab time they had..hope it stays that way!

I had bought a voucher for a film night, unfortunately the evening was cancelled. Janice e-mailed be to let me know and offered me the comedy night instead, as the film that I wanted to see was on, while I was on holiday. Janice could not have been more helpful and I went to the comedy night, last night, I had a brilliant time, I love places like this, small and very cosy. I had one of the best burgers in a long time and the comedy show was good as well. I would definitely recommend this little gem of a place, close to Barbican tube station.

Love the Charterhouse Bar. Great atmosphere created by the friendly staff, good atmosphere anytime I've been here. Had some excellent nights partying here, and also had some excellent meals. I especially recommend the pulled pork burger, well priced which isn't always easy to find in London. Always visit the Charterhouse when in London and recommend it to friends!

We booked Charterhouse bar for pulled pork bugers and a bottle of beer each with Wowcher (40% off) and we enjoyed it thoroughly! It was a nice little bar which was only a short walk away from the station and when really enjoyed the atmosphere! There was a comedy night going on upstairs but the bar had reserved a table for us downstairs where we had a drink before ordering our food. We didn't have to wait long for our food and were given the beers straight away, and the food was brilliant! The pulled pork burgers were definitely something that I would recommend, the chips were also great and so were the onion rings! In fact, we enjoyed it so much we even stayed for another drink and were thrilled with the selection of drinks that were on offer and very happy that they stocked Superbock beers. We also really liked the Halloween decorations!If we're ever in the area again we would visit and would definitely recommend!

I visited the bar to use a voucher and what a bargain my trip turned out to be. The burgers, chips and sides were great, so were the cocktails (if a little too pricey?). To top this off the service was brilliant. Super friendly, helpfull staff!

Bought groupons for 6 people but when tried to book all our dates were not available. They gave us 3 dates to chose from (bearing in mind we had actually given them our groupon details) Two dates we couldnt do but one we could. We booked and just before going we noticed that our groupon had expired (yes we should have checked but when they offered us the date after we gave our groupon details we didnt think). We rang, emailed many many times to see if they would honour the groupon even though error on both sides. No reply on phone, no reply to emails. out of courtesy we also emailed to say we would not be coming in case they rejected the groupon for being out of date but we let them know so someone else could have the table. Still no response at all. Very bad customer services so wont bother to go now. Shame as we had heard good reports on the jazz.

Came here for jazz and cocktails. The band was amazing and the cocktails were too. The food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary - but the service was brill.

Came here on a Friday night on a daily deals voucher and was not disappointed. The food was fantastic and the cocktails were very well made and delicious! It's quite a small little place so I can imagine it gets quite noisy later on but the waiters were very attentive and chatty

Great Venue and staff were very accommodating. Would certainly use again for a similar event. Food platters were great for large groups and the upstairs space was perfect.

After purchasing a Groupon voucher for the Monday night cinema viewings, which came with a Bratwurst hot dog, popcorn and beer, I can safely say I will certainly be going back.The drinks are relatively cheap, considering usual London prices, the food was hot and tasty and the staff were fantastic, very friendly and hugely accommodating. They went out of their way and it makes for a really warm atmosphere. Although we didn't eat a main meal here, the food that we saw being taken to other customers looked and smelled fantastic, I will be back for some pulled pork VERY soon!

Hired the upstairs room of Charterhouse Bar for a birthday party on a Friday night - the guys behind the bar totally added to the party atmosphere knocking up fantastic and affordable cocktails. The DJs totally made the night also, completely guaged our friends and what we liked and kept the party going all night, even getting involved themselves - top night, really helpful staff - we did order so mixed platters to eat and these were just perfect too - easy to eat whilst drinking - and dancing! - and you cant argue with the location either - thanks Charterhouse.(dont ever let Matt the barman leave - he's a one off!)

on Tuesday nights from 7.30 to 10 the small top bar hosts live jazz - we enjoyed female singer and two piece band : seats less than 40 so you must book unless you want to standunderstand entry with one drink and decent sort of appetizer plate for 2 is about £20 a head - four of us went on a voucher deal for £8 each so this represented excellent value and we had a really good evening I guess £20 a head isnt onerous for entertainment and a drink and nibbles but if you can get it cheaper why not - from our point of view it made a great mid week night out and the add on prices for additional drinks were not excessivewe even managed to dance as we had seats at the back - any closer and it would have been very loud

We went here after booking a voucher for two on Amazon Local. We got two burgers, two portions of chips, onion rings, coleslaw and two beers for £16. Excellent value, so much food I almost had to be rolled out afterwards! When we arrived the kitchen was closed for another 30 minutes but they opened it especially for us and made us feel welcome.The food was excellent, the skin on chips were lovely and the pulled pork burger I had was the nicest burger I've had in the city for a long time. My partner had the falafel burger which was just as good. Onion rings were in a crispy almost tempura batter, coleslaw was fresh and very creamy.The staff were absolutely lovely really went the extra mile to open the kitchen early for us... I will definitely be returning.

We had our works unofficial 10th anniversary reunion here... centrally located, no minimum spend, and the upstairs area is perfect for our size around 70-80 people. Phil and his staff were on hand to answer any questions. We're thinking about doing the same next year for the 11th!

We stopped in here for a bite as we had an offer from Groupon. The food was reasonably priced anyway, but that made it even better! The waiter/barman was excellent and very courteous and was only there when needed so that was another bonus. Good value for money and a nice place to be.

Booked a birthday party for me and some friends had great night, service great and cocktails lush, food did what it said on the tin, one of waiters went extra mile for us, that's the sort of place it is....:-)

Food was lovely, but I can't say I enjoyed or could justify paying £3.50 for a bowl of chips or onion rings to accompany our burgers. The comedy, " what comedy" the stand ups were truly dreadful, they picked on a guy with a beard all night, all of them. My 6 yr old kids got more humour! Needless to say we left the comedy and went downstairs and enjoyed a cocktail.. Staff are pleasant and friendly , foods tasty, but please get some humour in your comedians.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. The Groupon deal for cinema was a real winner with a bottle of sol beer , tasty bratwurst and a bowl of popcorn each was fourteen quid for the both of us. All in all a great night and a lovely little bar.

I bought groupons for my friends and I for a film at their cinema, a beer or cocktail, popcorn and a hotdog. The only good thing about this experience was the film. The groupon stated that a beer or cocktail could be enjoyed so I requested a cocktail for us all as I hate beer, the waiter said no cocktails. My friend had to buy us some. We went upstairs to the cinema and had to arrange our own seating as there were only seats for couples, yet there were 4 of us. He came up and talked to us like we were children and told us to make the tables neat. He then gave us 3 bowls popcorn, with no choice of flavour and I can't stand salty popcorn. He arrived with the last bowl half way through the film. The hotdog was nice but tiny and we were left hungry. We could hear everyone from the bar downstairs so couldn't even concentrate on the film. So overall this was a total scam and we won't be returning to this dump.

Was told that that i cudnt place an order for some chips to accompany my preordered food and that I wud have to wait like everyone else. Can't say that I was impressed with the service.Food was bland and not seasoned. I shant be coming here again considering I am spending my hard earned wage.

A group of us went to the comedy night last night and were rudely spoken to by the "host" of the comedy night upon entering, this set president to how the evening would carry on. The organiser of this regular night told us off for laughing too loudly and again at commenting on the racist jokes in the so called comedians sketch. We were eventually asked to leave in the most embarrassing and dramatic fashion that caused more of a disruption to the evening than a group of 8 trying to enjoy their evening. We were prepared to be insulted and embarrassed in front of a room full of strangers by a man with a mic in his hand, not the irate and impertinent organiser that was lingering by the stairs.

We went to the same comedy night and had a great time. There was no racism at all (as suggested incorrectly below). A group of obnoxiously loud people at the back spoiled it at the beginning by constantly talking but eventually asked to leave and it was a great night. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

A group of us came for the comedy night. We got told off for being too noisy and the comedy was racist. The man who run the comedy night was rude and not accommodating, anyone for a group more than 2 people, I wouldn't reccomend going to a comedy night where laughing is not allowed.

Lovely large burger with chips, onion rings and small salad! Nice staff... Next to famous Smithfield. Would go back again.

A Basic menu on the board but what was available was good, the meal was a Christmas present from my granddaughter so there was four of us and for just over £15 per person it was good value for money. we had a beer with a large burger with chips coleslaw and mayo the offer did not include desserts but one of the waiters broke up a bar of chocolate and gave it to my granddaughter as a dessert. we booked for 6.30pm which was right as by 8.00pm it was full. they also do a good range of cocktails which we did not try but a lot did, a nice place to go for a drink and soak in the atmosphere worth going again

A unique place in a world of chain pubs. What's cool is they have regular fun events, like poetry slams, movie nights and jazz concerts. I got a groupon for jazz night recently and the staff were just incredible. I was shown to my seat and had my order taken in no time. The band was great and the food really hit the spot. I always prefer privately owned spots because they tend to have more character and atmosphere about them, don't you agree?

This is a cool little bar, it sometimes appears that not much goes on there but I work at a company in Smithfield Market, and I've been to some excellent gigs there and have seen Band of Holy Joy, Spizzenergi, Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music dude), Jerry Dammers doing a DJ set and the fabulous Morton Valence.The burgers are great, really great...great big mouth-watering muthas...ugh....mmm...doh, yum!!!Homer...mmm...Marge....mmm...Love it !:D

Amazing food and such nice drinks! Stumbled on this place with a friend and had the best night. We arrived around 9 and were pleased to see their kitchen was still open, a friendly barwoman suggested 'charter burgers' and we were not disappointed. A charter burger is just a really meaty burger with chips and onion rings, has that real home made taste and feel to it. If you go here definitely try the burgers. Great atmosphere, OK music, happy helpful staff AND it wasn't too expensive, which was a rare treat in the farringdon area. Definitely coming back

The food took ages. The waiter appologised and explained the delay, which we understood, but then the onion rings came very cold.No one asked us how the food was, and there was no goodbye when we left.

We visited on a Friday at 8:00 and had a deal with burgers, chips, onion rings, and beer (or soft drink). I had the chicken burger, and my partner had the slow-cooked pork - both ok. The bar was very busy as it was a Friday night, and it looked like a nice place to go for drinks after work. We were the only ones eating food at this time. Food was alright, and I loved the onion rings. There was some room at the pub at 8:00 in the evening on a Friday night, which is really rare around the City, but maybe it's just at the fringe to not be quite so crowded. We did not stay long. Staff were friendly too.

Brillinat fun, the stafff were great and teh music was brilliant for a pre-party warm up. Super location and great if fabric is next on your list

My date and I bought the Groupon voucher for a burger, sides and beer. I had the pulled pork burger which was fantastic, meat soft and juicy with a real kick of chilli, which is perfect for me. She had the charter house burger which was a large slab of beef burger covered with applewood smoked cheese and crispy bacon. Again juicy and full of flavour. Both had chips an shared the onion rings and homemade coleslaw. Cannot complain about any of it. Extremely good value for money, we couldn't finish it all! I wasn't overly sure of what to expect, especially on a date, but we are pleasantly surprised. Service was great, staff real friendly and I highly recommend it. Will be coming back very soon.Thank you.

Staff was very friendly, pleasant and welcoming. The Groupon Deal included an alcoholic drink, a hotdog and popcorn for each of us and cost £14 in total for both of us. So I thought it was a good deal especially with the film. I wouldn't pay full price for this though which on the website said £15 each. It wasn't crowded and we had a good view of the screen. I thought the hotdog would probably be rubbish, but it was quite nice actually! The bun was warm and soft and the sausage was alright! It was an enjoyable evening all in all.

Have been going to Charterhouse Bar for quite a few years now and I still love coming back. I celebrated my 40th there a couple of years ago & they couldn't have been more accommodating; great food & a brilliant DJ for the party we had after. I hired out the whole top floor free of charge.But what really makes the place an absolute gem for me is its one of the few places in London you can get a drink past 2am without having to pay £15 on the door! Believe our so-called cosmopolitan city is pretty rubbish after midnite!Its a great bar that works well on a number of different levels.

Last night I went to the Charterhouse Bar with my husband, using a voucher from Livingsocial.com which included a cocktail, a shared Asian food platter and live jazz music. NEVER again. We got there and after ordering the cocktails at the bar, were told to head upstairs and to sit down wherever we could. It was akin to a free for all scrum. By the time everybody had sat down, there was only one free table left right at the back in the awfully narrow room where the event was taking place. Anyway, we sat down and eventually the food arrived. What a disgrace! It was a joke, how can they serve it? They should feel ashamed of themselves. The platter came with a bowl of what was supposed to be pork with rice. It was utterly tasteless, and completely devoid of any pork! We were also given a bowl of soy beansprouts, two skewers of prawns and pineapple, and 4 mini spring rolls, which tasted as if they had come straight from the freezers of an Iceland supermarket. We were effectively served execrable cheap food, and it is unacceptable. We paid £19 for the voucher, but the supposed ‘full’ price for this is £40. Honestly, who would pay that? It has to go down as one of the worst food experiences I have had during my decade in London. The place should be shut down. And the jazz, well, in was awful. Nothing personal against the poor girl singing. We were so upset by the whole experience that we left after 15 minutes. We will never, ever step foot in that bar or purchase anything from Livingsocial.com again.

We were there with a groupon voucher, and we paid 22 pounds for a dinner for 2. Well, first, we were waiting for 1 hour in the bar, because they didn't have the restaurant opened (people were entering, and when we were passed, there was no seat). Then, the space is ridiculous, and we were seated in a small table with other couple, in a terrible angle to see the concert. But then, the best came... the food. They asked if we wanted ribs, or other things... We asked for them and wait. After a long time (hilarious, because all the food was from microwave), they came with a ridiculous tray with mac&cheese (a portion like a taster, bad, and bought in the lidl or iceland), a very bad salad that in two bites was gone, corn that in other two bites was gone (bad and dry), and the ribs, that were like a sample of precooked ribs in a cheap supermarket. The only good thing, the group (but that's not part of the restaurant!). And the cocktail, very bad. Even with the voucher, it doesn't worth at all!!!

I've visited this bar many times and have always had a great time. The food is good and inexpensive, and the drinks too, particularly the cocktails. The service is very efficient and the staff are always super welcoming. I recommend highly!

Went here on a groupon voucher for 2 burgers sides and a beer for £16.Our table was unfortunately so close to the bar that we couldn't fit at it and had to pull it out and sit at awkward angles.The food took about 40 minutes to arrive (no one else was eating!) and when it did come the Pulled pork burger and onion rings were completely cold... the chips were very hot, so it was as if the burger had just been left on the side while they were cooked.to top this off there was a very miserable waitress working who served everyone without saying a word or smiling. She also insisted on fiddling with the music every minute which was rather annoying.I thought the point of these vouchers was to encourage people to come back again, but we will definitely not be doing that or understand why anyone would pay full price to eat here!

Partner and I love to use Groupon to discover new places and then go back again and again so that you can try before you waste your money. This was a perfect example of why we do this. Went on Tuesday. 20:00 show for their Jazz night. Had to share a table as none were left. Food was simply awful. Service was prompt. As soon as you sat down it was served. Couldn't have 1 vegetarian option and 1 meat as they only served platters. So both of us had to have vegetarian. Music wasn't at all good, not to my taste and I love Jazz. Location-didn't feel comfortable walking around that area at that time. Will not be going back.

I celebrated my 30th year by hiring the top floor of this bar. The staff were brilliant, they organised everything and took away all the stress. The sound system, atmosphere, and location were spot on. Really impressed with the bar and would definitely use it again.

Our 2nd visit to this bar for Monday movie night, every bit as good as the first. We indulged in several happy hour half price cocktails, and then tucked in to a delish hot dog and large bowl of popcorn with a glass of wine, all included in the ticket price. A real bargain night out in central London. The staff are helpful and friendly, the food is good and they have offers on the go all the time. We'll be back again I'm sure. Loving the pineapple and chilli martinis!

I recently hired the top floor to host my 40th birthday party. I booked the venue online with the manager Phil who made the process very easy and sent me a link to show my DJ's and Live PA act the equipment available (which made it so much easy for technical details). On the night, Paul the Bar Manager was very helpful as were the bar staff. The opening hours are great too, allowing me to have my party from 8pm-4am. I would definitely have a party here again.The only downfall is the top bar doesn't have its own set of toilets so it means going down to the basement.

This is a little gem, a totally unassuming little bar, close to Smithfield Market. I arrived in time for happy hour, 2 cocktails for a mere £7 is not to be sniffed at in central London these days! There are also offers on bottle wine and beers. I can vouch for the daiquiris, dark n stormys and white Russians!We had tickets to the movie screening in the upstairs bar. It was a fabulous film, and our hot dogs (real sausages thank god!) and a bowl of popcorn each were served at the start. We opted to have our cocktails post-film, outside. All this is included in the ticket price. We were sat at our own candle-lit table, lots of space and a good view. It's not posh or fancy, but it is comfortable, and the staff clearly care and are helpful, warm and welcoming. I would certainly make a return visit. We really enjoyed ourselves.

I did my birthday celebration there and it was a complete success. We had the upstairs bar which is very nice with windows overlooking the market and the staff was super friendly. The bar organised an amazing birthday cake which was delicious and all my guests were very happy. We had the space to ourselves until the time we agreed and everything was perfectly organised and smooth. It would be amazing if they could give us the space till later but on a saturday night it is difficult. Great experience overall and i will definitely consider arranging another event there. Yorgos

We held our work 10th Anniversary party in the upstairs bar at Charterhouse. The food was great, musicians also great and the staff were all fantastic and very accommodating too. A very reasonable bill for the lot. We would definitely recommend this venue, which is also located very close to transport for guests to get there and home.Well worth a visit.

A friend and me reserved the upstairs bar for our birthday party and it was a superb choice and great value. Although you cannot hire the upstairs room without having a minimum spend at the bar, upstairs is still large enough to accommodate a couple of parties (although this does depend on party size so be aware!) and you are able to play your own music which is always a bonus. The staff were really friendly, drinks are reasonably priced and it is a good location so ideal for a party in London.

What a great night out!!!! We'd been talking about taking in a Jazz night for the longest time, and could not have chosen a better way to do it, than at Charterhouse. The band was exceptional, the staff were very, very friendly and helpful....and the food was top notch - definitely not bar food! I had to send Phil an e-mail to thank him for making my son's 21 birthday celebration a resounding success. Thanks Phil, the band and Charterhouse staff! I have recommended to all my friends, and will definitely go back!Shafie
