Me and the Mr popped in for a post sea-swim breakfast and ssooo glad we did. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Food was good quality, very tasty, and well presented. My tea came in a non-leaky pot, and was hot and fresh. Bacon was crispy, eggs were a rich yellow colour, and well seasoned. Carrot cake was moist and the frosting was lush! Will definitely be back. Thanks, you've pitched it just right! 👌🏼😍😋

The coffee and cakes were fine, but the place needs a serious makeover. It looks tired. The windows were covered in condensation and plastic flowers on the table. Not inviting.

Despite their website stating they were open on the day and time we went, they were in fact closed.!

The service is fabulous- friendly, efficient and welcoming. Dogs are allowed inside which is a bonus! And after trying 3 different types of cake over a week, all were amazing! The best carrot cake ever and the chocolate brownie is more like a fudge cake, so gooey and delicious! Highly recommend!

Nice selection of cakes and the biggest scone I’ve ever eaten with loads of jam and cream. We didn’t eat in but had a couple of takeaways which were lovely. They do serve breakfast incl pancakes but we ran out of days so will have to wait til our next trip.

After craving a Cornish cream tea all week, we were not disappointed. Found Charlie’s on TripAdvisor and the location is stunning. Two cream teas ordered, AMAZING WARM SCONES and FABULOUS CLOTTED CREAM, and EXCELLENT JAM too. Cannot fault our visit last week. I Highly recommended. Visit this coffee shop and experience amazing fresh food and hospitality.

We went for lunch and a cream teas and it was superb. We had gorgeous filled bagels and followed this with a delicious cream tea. All the scones and cakes are home baked - and it shows; they are fabulous.

Lovely coffee shop serving excellent coffee, hot drinks, cakes and hot food. The menu isn’t too big so easy to make a choice. I had a cheese & tomato panini which came with lots of salad and crisps. I returned the next day as I fancied a piece of cake, came away with very large slice of carrot cake that was delicious 😀. The owner took over the cafe September 2022, she was lovely and very helpful when I wanted advice on a few local amenities. There’s plenty of seats inside and for the warmer days you can sit outside and watch the world go by. It’s a little gem … just a few minutes walk back up from the harbour.

Charlie's is always my "go to" place for breakfast after a long drive down to Cornwall, but wasn't sure what it would be like as i knew it was a different owner from previous visits. Can I just say it did not disappoint in any way!! Decor has changed & it looks absolutely lovely, still have the option to sit outside if the weather allows but let's get to the best bit! The breakfast's are amazing!!! I opted for the smoked salmon & scrambled egg on toast & it was fabulous!! Plenty of egg, cooked perfectly, & plenty of salmon, just the way I like it!! Cappuccino was great too, in fact I did have two!! All followed off by a gorgeous mince pie with clotted cream (well, I was on my holiday)! Will definitely keep this on my "go to" list for breakfast whenever i'm in the area. Keep up the good work guys, i'd recommend to anyone!!

Greeted with a warm welcome. Hot coffee was nice and I ordered the milk chocolate and white chocolate type brownie. It was huge and far too much for me to finish so bagged it up for the end of my long walk. I did see they did hot meals but unsure how this was prepared as it appeared they only have a small bar area with a coffee machine and microwave. Decor was bright and vibrant Would recommend for a stop to warm/ fuel up if in the area

Beautiful food and everything home made. All the cakes and scones are made by Sarah using her grandmas recipe. Great location with easy parking. Lovely decor and atmosphere and the partners Ian and Sarah are just lovely.

Visited twice during the Charlestown regatta week. The place a small but quaint and also has tables outside. On the first occasion we had a traditional cornish cream tea which was delicious. We saw lots of fabulous looking cakes along the counter too. So impressed we returned a few days later for a light lunch. Ordered a chicken mayo sandwich with pesto what was presented wasnt a traditional sandwich the ingredients were stacked on top of a bread platform chicken in a pesto mayo salad with cucumber sliced raddish and an ediblible flower sat on top. See the pic. It was a work of art and was also delicious. The menu wastnt ectensive for lunch but I will be going back for more!

Charlie’s is just delightful! Super friendly people and service with a genuine smile, the cakes are absolutely delish with a wide choice! We stopped here for lunch before a stroll round the Quay. We only wanted something small, and the paninis were wonderful, served with very fresh salad. We sat in the sun round the side, and the staff were very friendly. Delicious!

Enjoyed a super lunch here sat outside in the sun on a visit to Charlestown. Very fresh sandwiches served with dressed green salad leaves on the side. and a smile! This is one of our regular stops for coffee and cake or lunch. The service is friendly and prompt and we always feel like welcome guests. Excellent, freshly made sandwiches and top notch scrambled eggs usually leave us too full to order cake but when we do it’s delicious.

During my working visit to Cornwall, the wifi failed in our accommodation so we went to Charlie's to finish up some work and have a refreshing drink and cake. Even though the cafe was over-priced (even compared to London!) the waitress who served us that afternoon was super friendly and welcoming. So we decided we'd return the following morning for some coffee and brekkie, only to be shouted at across the cafe when I tried to plug in my laptop that it "wasn't an internet cafe." It was embarrassing and quite honestly very rude. I've never experienced a place that won't let you charge a phone or laptop while you eat and pay. Would understand if I'd waltzed in expecting to set up for the day without ordering, but that wasn't the case. Would have also understood if the lady (I think the owner/Manager) had politely came over to the table and explained the problem in a nice manner rather than shouting over other customers. Pity for such a pretty place to leave such a bad impression.

This review was written by my daughters (9 &11). We found this coffee shop on-line and we were so happy that we went. The staff were really nice, the service bubbly and welcoming and we had a lovely outdoor table. We had 4 slices of fantastic cake that seemed like they should have cost much more than they did. The milkshakes were very tasty and tasted like real strawberries. We will go back again as this coffee shop was so good.

We had breakfast at Charlie’s 3 times during our week in Cornwall and I would have come every day had we not has other plans. The food and staff are excellent. Great choices for breakfast, freshly cooked food and some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve had - so fluffy. You should definitely come here if you’re in Charlestown.

Such a little gem of a coffee shop. All food and drinks were superb, totally faultless, it was hard to know what to choose to eat as it was all so lovely. The staff were lovely and friendly too. We will defiantly be back before we go home.

Visited today on a bit of a damp windy day. The coffee shop was very busy, and due to covid restrictions unable to sit as many as usual. We chose to wait as it looked lovely. The lady running it was very apologetic and couldn't do enough for us she dried off so out door tables for us to wait at and got us inside as soon as she could. Was worth a bit of a soggy wait. We each had fish made panini that we throughly enjoyed then huge scones with generous helpings of jam and cream. Great service great food and great adherence to COVID regulations despite knowing it is causing some stress and having to turn people away. I highly recommend we will certainly visit again.

What more can you say? The best bacon sandwich I’ve ever eaten, served by incredibly friendly people in a fabulous setting. Top marks.

First time i visited this place was November 2019 and it was great. Visited again with friends but I was very disappointed. Based on the last visit should have given only 2 star but because of the first being so good went for 4 star. Won't rush back, hopefully when I go back will be as good as first time

I've had some good cream teas, but the one I had here was the best ever. Warm scone with lashings of clotted cream and a deliciously fruity jam.

On a cold wet February day this cafe was a cosy haven. Run by lovely, friendly ladies. Great coffee and really good breakfast, complete with doorstep toast. The cakes looked delicious but we were too full, there’s always next time. A mix of tables and chairs and comfy sofas, this small cafe didn’t feel squashed.

My boyfriend and I visited Charlie's Coffee House for tea, hot chocolate and scones last week and it was great! I'm glad we visited on a week day though, as I can imagine it is very popular and a tight squeeze on weekends. The scones, jam and cream were a good size and very tasty. The breakfasts and brunches being serves up around us looked great too! I will definitely be visiting again if I'm back in Cornwall.

We frequent your lovely establishment on a semi-regular basis and we've never been disappointed. Great food, service and ambiance...we love it.But, you're sooo hard 'to get hold of'. Multiple phone calls between 9-4 on several days with no success ~so cunning plan, we'll use your website for information, but we're deliberately (like many) not members of Facebook so no joy. I'm sure we can't be the only frustrated customers or potential customers in this same situation, or am I missing something?

Visited twice on consecutive days for refreshing coffee & tea and in both cases service from the two ladies was exemplary. The first time shop was quite full and we took the last table, second time there was only us although 4 other parties arrived as we were there. Coffee served in timely fashion and was good and not to strong for my better half, the second time she had earl grey team and there was more than enough tea and milk. Whilst we didn't eat the cakes and sandwiches looked scrumptious and other parties were definitely enjoying their choices. Tremendous and when we're here again we will visit.

Loved their scones with Cornish cream and jam. The owner was also incredibly sweet to my toddler ensuring she felt at home and was eating her scone.

Came here after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. The food was great - as a previous poster wrote the prawn sandwich was full of prawns. Jacket potatoes were massive not the small size you get in most places.The staff were incredibly friendly and I would come back again and happily wait for a table to become available if it was a busy day.

We ended up here a little by chance because other cafés closer to the Harbour seemed to shut at 3pm on a busy day, but we were glad in the end. The staff were lovely, genuinely friendly and welcoming. The food was also fantastic. In most prawn sandwiches you are searching for the prawns, this one was absolutely packed with them. The Goat's cheese pannini was very tasty. If you fancy a decent snack in Charlestown, this place is well worth the visit.

Small nicely decorated cafe with friendly staff. Very good tea and scones and coffee and walnut cake. The hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows was a bit indulgent but really good. prices were very reasonable, We will be back next year

Coffee and walnut cake is to die for. Generous slices, nicely wrapped. Great takeout from a tiny but friendly cafe.

This coffee shop is very small with only around 5 proper tables available to eat at. There are some very low sofas which are ok for a coffee but not to hunch over and eat a meal.

I can recommend the coffee and walnut cake. Smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado and chilli flake bagel was also delicious! Staff are friendly and there is a really nice vibe. Great on a rainy blustery Saturday :)

Whilst on holiday in Cornwall we stumbled upon this gluten free coffee house. They had gluten free bread, crumpets, pancakes, fruit bread. The only disappointment was the poor range of gluten free cake as we were not after lunch just a snack. As my husband had a cream tea I had the gluten free lemon and sugar pancakes which did make a nice change and were very tasty. As they were shop bought pancakes I did find them a bit expensive I think they should have come with a drink rather than having to pat separately. A nice spot for a gluten free lunch though.

Dropped in out of the rain was welcomed by the staff , ordered food didn’t wait long at all and the food was delicious , coffee was great too !!!. Excellent staff and service , will be back.

During a short stay in St Austell, we had breakfast in this spot twice. It is cosy and welcoming which was the perfect combination on a cold, wet, windy morning. I had the bacon sandwich on both trips and it was delish. The bread is out of this world - super fresh, doorstop sliced and perfectly cooked bacon. Coffee is also really good.

We called in as we walked back to the car and were welcomed immediately by the young lady behind the counter. At first it was just going to be a cup of tea, then it became a cream tea. It was enormous! It must have been the biggest and best in Cornwall. There were no little pats of butter or packs of jam, big bowls of everything! The warmth and friendliness of the several family members who were also there was wonderful, local people were also calling which I took to be a good sign as well. We even found that some family members belonged "up north" and a wedding was in the offing near to where we live so we were able to offer "tourist" advice!

Had best lunch/coffee/Cornish cream tea ever in Charleston at Charlie's today...cheese and tomato sandwich was huge, fresh and had large chunks of Cheddar that overfilled the sandwich which is a rare find these day, latte was hot and frothy and the cream tea was to die for - the freshest scone ever, with pots

After a wander round the village and quayside and museum, we were feeling peckish having driven past Charlie’s we decided to go back up the road and try it out. We each had panini min with mozzarella, bacon and sun blush tomatoes, my wife goats cheese and sun blush to,stones. Both were excellent. One double espresso and a cup of tea with the bill at £16. Well worth it. Great ambience and well served.

My husband, two year old daughter and I stumbled across Charlie’s whilst on holiday. The staff were very friendly and gave us some great tips for beaches to go to locally and a park for our daughter. The cream tea was exceptionally good. Lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated.

I regularly visit Charlie’s and are always given a friendly welcome. The coffee and cake are always lovely. The place is always spotless and clean. Really lovely friendly staff and owner.

My daughter has just become a new mum and has faced many challenges including feeding which has resulted in no time for herself.

Were heading to Fowey at around lunch time when this sweet little place caught our eye. We turned around and luckily found parking out the front. Very friendly welcome and absolutely delicious food and coffee. Cakes looked great too. Give the bigger places a miss and support these little gems. So much nicer. Pretty decor and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.

We came here for breakfast and really enjoyed scrambled egg on lovely thick slices of granary toast. Very friendly and welcoming and clearly a lot of locals come here too, so you know it’s good! The cakes also looked amazing, but we didn’t have any room for one.

My friend and I literally come here every week. The coffee is excellent, the food is delicious and the staff are lovely. My dog Bailey is made welcome as well. Highly recommend a visit.

I usually have the white toast made from an uncut loaf, so a nice thick slice of bread. I can never manage the two slices mentioned on the menu. Plenty of butter. The cakes are delicious and there is always a good selection to choose from. Lovely scones with butter or clotted cream. Lots of things on the menu but I love the toast. Extremely friendly and efficient staff. The owner is a delight and she is most welcoming. A small cafe with lovely tables and chairs, and paintings on the wall. There is a very smart window seat and other relaxing seats.

Breakfast was made from fresh ingredients, wonderful fresh granary bread and home made marmalade all served with a smile and lashings of butter.
