We called in for lunch whilst in Herne Bay, staff were very friendly and professional, the food was freshly prepared and very tasty, we settled for the set lunch menu and it was well priced. Would certainly recommend this establishment and would definitely visit again if we were in the area.

Charlie’s fitted us in at the last minute for Mother’s Day, which was amazing. We had a lovely meal, with good service. We were very glad we went there, and will definitely go again. Thank you!

Charlie and his staff were so welcoming and kind to myself and my dog. The food, a homemade stew cooked by Charlie himself was absolutely delicious and very fairly priced for such a large portion.

Charlies Bistro, you've done it again! We went with friends for the Taster menu with wine flight themed evening and it was amazing. The food was, as always, delicious and so beautifully prepared, cooked and presented by Sean. The wines were all very good and copious in quantity and Tony's knowledge and description of why each wine went with each course was interesting to hear. Plus Lauren and Skye as the front of house team, serving everyone so perfectly and always with a smile. A great night!

Visited last Saturday in January due to a stay in the local area. Arrived just after 7 to a warm welcome. We had a lovely 3 course meal stating with mushrooms and sea food bisque, followed by pork belly (sadly no crackling) and lamb shank which fell off the bone. Finished off with a shared cheese board. Highly recommended

Second time we have been here was visiting herne bay with friends and family. All dishes got rave reviews from us. Tapas, Lamb and pork belly. The front of house lady, can’t remember her name, is fantastic so welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Brilliant meal and time had by all. Thank you.

Returned to Charlie's after a period of absence and delighted to see that the lovely Lauren is still in charge of front of house and the Boss, Sean, is back doing the cooking and being "mein host". The food was fabulous with generous portions and all beautifully cooked. Lauren looked after us so all in all a genuine five star experience and great value. We shall be back !

Returned to Charlie's Bistro for their Mediterranean themed evening, a great night. Amazing food served in a great atmosphere. The front of house staff were as friendly and helpful as always and Sean's menu and dishes were divine. From the Italian themed starter, the Spanish entree, the huge Greek platter main and the fine French desserts we dined like Kings and could have been sitting in any good restaurant on the Med. A great, small venue with food and service second to none!

Charlies Bistro advertised a 70s themed night and we went along with friends. From start to finish we had a great evening. A great welcome with a complimentary drink, 70s themed of course, and then three delicious courses. Classics such as patè with melba toast, steak Diane and, that all time favourite, artic roll! All delicious and the addition of a 'party bag' full of retro sweets to take home was a lovely touch. We are already looking forward to the next one 🙂

We went to a Spanish themed event at Charlie's Bistro with friends and family. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a special evening. The welcome was warm and friendly, the restaurant decor was like a Spanish taverna and it just got better from there. The food was delicious! How Sean manages to cook up such delights in his small kitchen is amazing and front of house with Lauren ensures that everything is delivered in such a timely manner. We all felt so comfortable, welcomed and definitely well fed and are already booked for our next visit. A gem of a place tucked away on the corner of the seafront that is well worth seeking out. 5 ✨ all round!

We popped by to have a drink outside. I have been here before for food which has always been great but they really have to sort out the outside seating area. The furniture is old amd cheap and it's very uninviting. It's a prime location but it lacks everything that will entice people to pop by for a drink or a bit ro eat outside.

I was wonderfully surprised at the quality of the seafood platter to share that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed for lunch today. The seafood was delicious and fresh. I seldom eat fish at restaurants because all to often all we get is frozen fish. I must say I am so glad I decided to try it. Absolutely scrumptious, plentiful and beautifully presented. Well, we went for Tapas and wow! It was fantastic! We will definitely be returning for more! What a brilliant evening. We had the Tapas menu which is varied, and we were not disappointed. Great meal, great value. Thankyou Charlie's.

First time for us even though we've lived in Herne Bay for years. Had tomato and basil soup and then slow cooked beef in red wine. Cannot fault anything. Charming service. Beef was exceptionally tender. We will definitely come back. We would highly recommend a visit.

Popped into Charlie's for an impromptu dinner and, once again, couldn't be more impressed with this lovely little Bistro. Sean and Lauren provide such a warm and friendly welcome, the restaurant is bright and comfortable and the food, we took advantage of the Friday £10 burger deal, was delicious, well cooked, well presented and plentiful. This little Bistro, tucked away on the corner, is a gem of a find in Herne Bay. We will be back soon!

Very over priced for what it is and worst chicken caeser I’ve ever had. No Parmesan shavings no bacon and the chicken was breaded and was the same as I had last night for my tea which cost £1.69 for 4 - all server with ridiculous mound of bad not an iceberg or gem lettuce in sight. My friend who had the cod and chips had a piece of cod smaller than her hand and oven chips. If you’re expected to pay these prices then you expect quality - shan’t be returning.

Booked this with friends as were down in Hern Bay for the weekend. Wow! What a find. The staff were absolutely fabulous and the food equally so. We had a mixture of Tapas and main courses of steak, lamb shanks and fish and all were absolute top drawer. A brilliant foodie night and would definitely recommend for couples and friends alike.

Sunday lunch here,cold and windy outside but lovely and warm inside. Had the carvery,I had the beef as the joint in front of me was so tempting,alas I had the scrag ends of the previous joint,the gentleman had difficulty cutting it,I stood no chance which was a shame as everything else was fine, except for the condensation running down the window in the alcove onto our coats below!!! Absolutely delightful restaurant! We came here after a long day at the beach & the staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming to both us and our dog. We had the soup of the day & the roast - both perfect & exactly what we needed! Our dog was also spoilt with some roast scraps. What a gem of a restaurant overlooking Herne Bay sea front. We had fish and chips and pie and mash. While fish and chips were your usual, the pie was really not great - defrosted ready made stuff put in the oven - bland, tasteless, the meat was some cheap mince - pretty much like getting a frozen one from Tesco and putting it in the oven.

Dined at Charlie’s on a Sunday afternoon with my partner and two young daughters. Situated just off the seafront, with plenty of parking nearby, Charlie’s is a convenient place to stop and grab a bite. Staff were friendly and efficient and the menu had plenty to choose from at very reasonable prices. My partner and children went for the Carvery, while I opted for the roast beef ciabatta. All very nice, although my roast beef was a little on the gristly side. Would certainly recommend, the outdoor seating area would be very nice on a warm day.

Had a takeaway Sunday lunch from Charlie’s bistro on the Sunday just gone and I can see why it’s so popular! The meat was fresh, the veg and potatoes were hot and the price was a steal. Delicious as always and cannot recommend it enough.

Delicious food - great burger and chips, and generously filled grilled halloumi baguette. Staff friendly and helpful. Whn we came in our son, who is autistic, wouldn't move from a table that had a reserved sign on it but they let us sit there anyway. We're hoping to return to try the breakfast!

I visited Charlie's for lunch on Thursday afternoon and was not disappointed! My friend and I both opted for paninis from the lunch menu that were great value for money and really filling. Service was brilliant and the bistro had a lovely atmosphere, with great views of the seafront too. I look forward to visiting again to try more of the menu and I would definitely recommend for any occasion!

I don’t write trip advisors usually, but I just had to for Charlie’s bistro. I came around 3 years ago for the first time and it was beautiful, I’ve since returned and have always been happy with my visit. This time round I was very anxious due to covid but as soon as I walked in the worries diminished due to the cleaning station, the distancing between tables and the smiling welcoming faces of the staff. The food was amazing as per usual and of course the staff were too. Can’t rate this place highly enough for food, staff, ambience and price. I will be returning soon!

We visit Charlie's Bistro whenever we are in town because of the incredible customer service, the delicious food, the value and the atmosphere in general! Charlie's is perfectly situated on the beach front and is a perfect place to go and have food! We have had both lunch and dinner and would highly recommend either! I don't know anyone who has had a bad experience!

Was looking forward to a French style menu like Birdies in Whitstable but unfortunately felt to us more like Frozen microwave food served as restaurant quality with the price tag attached, another establishment that do not have a clue what they are doing but have the advantage of a beachfront setting, all disappointed.
