Haven’t been to a Havester in a while and was very disappointed. Food wasn't great i.e. no taste, and the time we waoted to be served our food in a practically empty restaurant was totally unacceptable. We will not be returning or recommending.

Christina the server helped me with my 9month old and 4 yr old so much, she helped in the door with the buggy, she helped hold my 9month old when me and the 4yrs old were at the salad bar, she helped imeadiatly with crayons for the little ones and the extensive clean up afterwards...she made dinning as a lone parent easy thanks

Typical English Christmas lunch. Kind and attentive staff. Noisy environment. Good quality of food, for being English. I tell Italians, don't expect anything special. Good desserts.

Food was ok when you eventually got your food terrible service arrived at 2.30 got our starters at 3pm and our dinner after 4 pm then had to ask 3 times for dessert we had to leave before we got are deserts as was nearly 5 pm and no dessert spoke to manager but as we had already pre paid for our food we couldn’t get anything back I would say not to go here as service so bad

Very accommodating, had a lovely cheerful waiter. Food was great, came out pretty fast from when it was ordered. So great overall.

Prime location with view over Brighton beach, but building poorly maintained (broken furniture and fag buts everywhere outside, and mouldy, peeling wall paper and ripped leather chairs inside). Run by kids with minimal experience in customer service. Food was tasteless, seemingly either reheated or deep fried, salad cart was missing a few items, which were only replaced after informing one of the kids. No bread rolls, or alternative offered. The only positive was the Italian manager with a warm welcome and goodbye. Such a shame they can't get the basics right given the prime location on Brighton seafront.

Came in with a couple of friends, food was decent but the highlight of the trip was excellent service provided by Rachel A. She was very attentive and welcoming and is a credit to the team!

We had a lovely lunch here. Very accommodating for children. The food was actually better than I had expected. The highlight was the service from Christina. You're a star.

Updated review from December 21st 2024 Arrived without a booking and seated somewhere nice and spacious although it did get busy. Efficient and friendly service in a lovely festive environment. Well replenished salad (except butter was missing for the rolls) delicious rotisserie chicken on the 1983 platter and ribs were replaced as a little cool, great wine in decent glasses and proper hot chips and chicken gravy, a steak flat bread with really tangy salad and extremely clean. Star of the show on this visit wasTrish who discretely resolved the ribs issue and made sure we left completely satisfied a huge credit to the business and would fit in at any higher end establishment, once again looks of this place can be deceiving you are missing a great treat inside at a fair price. Dec 2023 review below The outside of this Harvester has put me off ever visiting but due to the rubbish weather and no staff to open the Harry Ramsden we took a chance based on recent responses from a new manager suggesting any poor reputation is being hard worked on as this is in a super prime spot on the seafront next door to the exclusive Soho House and above the sealife. The inside is actually very nicely presented and clean, the welcome was warm and genuine and my request for a quieter table was not an issue and we had a great view of the Palace Pier . Service was friendly from the 3 different colleagues we encountered, the salad bar looked and tasted fresh and our main courses of Scampi and a Camembert Tart were nicely presented and served hot and fresh. We were on a short lunch hour and despite being clearly under pressure the team whizzed us through and we want away refreshed and with a different opinion on this venue primarily due to the exceptional service by our host Tadhg

We are visiting for the weekend and wow what great service we had during our time at harvester. We was met by Luigi who was very nice polite and exceptional at his job made us feel very welcome! Food was lovely we had the festive menu and service was excellent!! We will definitely be visiting again on our next visit. Thank you Luigi!!!

Good standard harvester fare. Trish was very attentive. Restaurant and facilities were clean and to standard. Graffiti in the gents could do with being cleaned off but that was our only gripe.

We were served today by Christina and the team when going in for lunch. I took my son who is Autistic and as soon as we got there started to become very unregulated. The staff were lovely and helped us move to a better table for him, in a quiet area. The serves we got from Christina was amazing. It let us have a family lunch out, something we rarely get to do.

Rachel was my waitress today and her service was 10/10. I am gluten free and find it hard to see what I can eat out, but my mind was put at ease as she helped my so much & I had the most delicious meal with my family!

Came in a bit ago with my Dad and got served by Maxine, who made sure we had an excellent time, the service was fast, everything came with the correct modifications as my Dad is a fussy eater. Would recommend.

Doesn't look much from the outside but it was ok inside. Full of Manchester City fans down for the 1730 game against Brighton at the Amex so a bit noisy. Food was good & staff were friendly. Had a discount voucher for a free main meal if you bought another main meal which we did. Glass of Merlot was £9.00 and a pint of Carling was around £6.00. overall the bill came to £36.00 which wasn't to bad. Would go back but only if there was an offer available.

The worst whole place ran by kids who don’t know what there doing take ages to serve and miss items utterly shocking experience harvester should be consistent but this was by far the worst one I have ever been to DONT BOTHER

Had a wonderful experience from the time I entered the restaurant to ask if the fish and chips were cooked separately for religious reasons (i.e. Halal). Luigi took the time to check with the chef on a few occasions and was super helpful and patient in answering questions. Service was attentive and friendly. The fish and chips were fresh and tasty plus there was free unlimited salad which was a nice bonus. Will come again and thanks to Luigi, Trish and the team!

The food is plentiful, the staff are wonderful and the wine is downable. To top it all off, after a few Nelson Mandelas, you can stumble just across the road and fall into or onto a taxi. 15/10.

We attended on 28th Sept, the door was quickly answered as we had a double pushchair. I asked if we could sit somewhere quiet as I am breastfeeding and we was seated in an area where nobody else was. Rachel & the manager Luigi were our servers and they was both attentive throughout and respectful when coming over incase I was feeding. It was a super busy day but the food was great, but the service was even better!! Both interacted with my 15 month old and it made all the difference. Both servers made the whole experience incredible so a huge thank you!

We enjoyed a lovely family dinner at the Harvester. They were able to accommodate 11 of us easily and Christina was very friendly, even helping us with a family photo at the end!

We waited 50 minutes for the food to arrive, which was extremely overcooked they seemed more interested in serving alcohol while we waited. Not worth the money .. the waiter was nice though

I would not recommend this place if it was the last place on earth! We waited 20mins for our order to be taken then 15 minutes later for the salad bowls. When we got to the salad everything was empty Our meal arrived it was cold, burnt and hard we were freezing because of the air con so ordered some tea. 20 minutes later we got a cold pot of tea. There was fruit flies everywhere. The staff did not care less, altogether an experience no one should repeat! Then to add salt in my very bitter wound, I got a bog standard response to my scathing complaint.😡😡😡

The food was poor lukewarm and tasteless.They were short staffed and the manager was having to do all jobs.The salad bar was not replenished.No ice cream as machine broke.It was a dreadful experience .

James was so lovely and unconditionally accomodating despite my kids being pretty crazy! With the 25% off QR code from Octopus, 2 kids meals and an adult main, drinks too. £12 each is pretty good for dinner with a view of the Pier. Family favourite treat for us! Just wish they didn't bung on 20% Vat then I could tip! Still £36 but really James earned that £6 not Harvester big buckaroo's 😉👌🏻

We went for some dinner at this restaurant on the 22nd of September at around 6pm, the staff were so lovely but could tell they were worked to the bone, with the added stress of a table walking out without paying due to them not being able to get the dish they wanted. The food was lovely I would recommend the bbq king burger and couldn’t fault the service at all we had a lovely girl serving us whose name I cannot remember but she was amazing at her job and deserves a lot of praise.

This place has gone down hill tremendously. Staff rude, inattentive and lack customer service skills. Don’t want to be there at all. Food was disgusting and poor quality. Baked beans were old and cracked. Tables dirty. Overpriced. Never again.

I wanted something that wasn’t a takeaway , but service was pretty poor tbh - no disaster levals poor but I I’ve had much better - the salad bar too was not great compared to other harvester

The Scottish lady server was amazing. Your kitchen is a shambles. Main course, kids dessert and a drink each took two and half hours. Two kids meals got forgotten. My mate had the half rotisserie chicken, it should have been called the half budgie as it was ridiculously small. My other mate had a salad with chicken and got about three bits of chicken and a bowl full of peppers. Kids burgers were like cardboard.

Food took ages and was dry, not even offered salad bar

Food was good fare. Nothing special, but we'll cooked. Salad bar was a little dull, not as many choices as Britain's. Service was very good, however, very quiet. Again the atmosphere was quiet for a wet, drizzly Monday evening. So, in all, good value for money. Parking would be a problem when it is busy. There are several disabled places on Marine Parade.

Hot drinks were lukewarm, the only thing I can say about the food is, it was edible, nothing to write home about. The staff were friendly but were short in numbers, when the food arrived we had to let them know they had forgotten some items.

We came in and waited over 15 minutes to be seated, we were seated and told that someone would be over in a few minutes , once seated 30 minutes went by and wasn't a waitress in sight, decided to use the toilet while we waited and it was so disgusting I would not even let my child walk on the floor in there. Has left me wondering what type of dirty disgusting hole I've just been in! We came back from the toilet, grabbed our stuff and left. I'm not usually picky about where I eat nor do I like to leave a bad review but I was absolutely not eating in there and hopefully you take this review as a sign and give wide birth. 2022

Quite a big Harvester visitor. But this one disappointed. Salad bar half-stocked and unappealing. Must have been 40 mins to bring food. Toilets not great. Staff okay though

Popped in for a late lunch which arrived fast and tasted lovely, as was the service from Jess. All questions I had were answered without any hassle which polished off an amazing experience here.

Large restaurant so no problem getting a table, service was very prompt and polite. Sharon who served us was great.

Myself and 4 friends were camping nearby in Brighton and had been having trouble finding a place to accommodate the 5 of us. When I called the Maderia, the gentleman (who I am so sorry I did not ask for his name) was very accommodating to our group and helped squeeze us in last minute. He explained that there was a problem with the booking system but assured us he would have a table waiting for us. When we arrived, we were lucky enough that our table had been kept as we got lost on our way to the building. Our waiter was very positive and a pleasure to talk to, he was very attentive to our table and provided a speedy delivery. He made our night with his energy, 5/5 stars to him. We loved him, he mentioned he’s having his 50th soon, Happy Birthday to him <3 Food was great, unlimited salad bar is always perfect. One of our diners was a ‘Harvester Hater’ and has now since changed their mind and loved their experience. My partner must of had at least 4 bowls from the salad bar. Our experience as a whole was amazing. We all loved our meals and enjoyed our time out. The service made our experience in Brighton much better.

Had amazing experience at this harvester today. Me and my boyfriend came to visit Brighton for the day and stopped in this haverster for lunch. Our service from Jess was incredible! She did everything she could to make our visit amazing and definitely made our day. Would recommend and visit again.

Great service! Always come in when I visit my family in Brighton. Never met Jess in there before but she was incredible. Never received serice like it. Honestly such a lovely person.

Unfortunately this place has turned into a decrepit, rundown venue over the last few years. Broken tables lay in ruin at on end of the outdoor space. The tables that are in use are filthy and in need of repair.

Booked for two days lost my booking for the 2nd day twice … luckily I saw the guy who rebooked it the second time and he confirmed it .. and I actually watched him book it so I know he did it .. service by staff was very good .. not enough on the bar to take drink orders needed at least 2 on the bar

Terrible service... filthy bar.... filthy toilets.... total mess outside with broken tables everywhere. Salad bar a disgrace, needs topping up ... how is this place still open! If it could be less than 1 star that's what it would get

Not a very nice experience at all. Went in without a booking, asked for a table for 2. Were told they couldn’t seat any 2’s because they had no tables available. The lady gave us some menus and said we could sit outside and order from the bar, then eat outside, which we agreed to do. As I was leaving with the menus, a group of 3 behind us who hadn’t booked were seated immediately. So clearly they did have tables but didn’t want to seat us on a table meant for more than 2. The outside tables were filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned all day (see picture). When we went back in to tell them we wouldn’t be eating at the outside tables the lady said “I can get them cleaned if that’s the problem”. If you’re seating people outside, they should have been clean in the first place. After realising I could book a table for 2 on their website, I did so and asked if that made any difference and if we could be seated inside. The lady then told us that the table we booked was in a section that wasn’t staffed but it was fine, that we could sit there and someone from the bar would serve us. However, very quickly after her manager came out and refused to seat us there. Arguing they had no control over the booking system, which defeats the whole point of a booking system. An absolute shambles of a restaurant with disgusting hygiene.

Table was dirty they tried to seat us at then heard lady say they were fully booked with 70% of restaurant empty but food was worse part had the dirty one only thing dirty was the plate rest was dry and chips were like they had been cooked few times!!! As for the service terrible but they all having their little chat about the day I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU COME TO THIS PLACE TILL THEY SORT THEIR ACT OUT

Weekend away, lovely bright and welcoming restaurant. The food was lovely, Christina was fast, efficient and friendly!

Breakfast was pretty poor. Poached eggs were like jelly and paper thin piece of toast was like burnt cardboard. Cutlery and table wasn't very clean, no salt in the shaker and was greasy to touch. Felt gross and couldn't wait to leave. Should have gone to Wetherspoons!

Christina was great, it was very busy when we arrived for breakfast but she was incredibly polite and helpful even when dealing with other rude customers!!

Had a wonderful greeting and seated promptly. Even though they were very busy Ayla was with us very quickly and took our order. Everything arrived promptly and hot. Ayla made sure we had everything we needed and all was to standard. Definitely be returning another time.

Monday evening at 19:00. Quiet, about a quarter of the restaurant was filled. It took over ten minutes to be seated and for the bar staff to go looking for the waiting staff, while another 3 groups, queded behind us. After being seated in a section where all 4 tables were dirty, the waitress later came back to clean all the tables but ours. No exaggeration, 20 minutes passed and no one ever came to even take our drink order. My partner and I watched as the waitress continued to sort cutlery, clear tables no one was waiting for and more than anything seemed to be pretending to look busy. After a total of around 30 minutes of waiting at a dirty table and no drinks, we decided to get up and leave. I doubt they even noticed an empty table that hadn't been served.

Came a year ago to have a disappointing experience where I was told it was under new management. A Year later and nothing has changed. Both Male toilet doors still don't lock. Still lack of staff and poor service (bit I do need to give the staff some credit because they did there best considering the lack of support) Food was luke warm and no ice cream which meant 3/4 of all there desserts including the kids menu was unavailable.

Popped in for a drink never again floors were filthy covered in food, tables were sticky. Would not recommend

Quite disappointed by the visit, service was very poor, having been sat with a menu and given no indication of where/how to order, which was eventually done by a server after quite a long wait. Food was ok but one of the mains was missing some items and there was a poor attempt of covering up I can only assume was a shortage of eggs by cutting a single egg in half, gammon was mostly inedible. We were patient initially as we could see it had been very busy but towards the end of the meal, when you can see staff wandering around chatting whilst you want to get finished up, it becomes quite frustrating. Probably not returning unless we have a voucher available to somewhat offset the downsides.
