Very rude staff.....no customer service skills! Regular visitor to Bowness but will definitely not order food from here again!

Shocking, no wonder there is a cash machine in the shop OMG unbelievable prices for food that is unfit for human consumption, I wouldn’t even give an animal this food

Order on a very busy Saturday night, food was quick and excellent as always. The security guard was helping keep track of orders and delivering food to tables, with the best attitude and friendliness I've ever experienced from a takeaway. He went completely above and beyond what I ever expected and seriously added to the whole experience.

Proper boss man pizza. Ordered the Mexican. Crispy base, cheese golden brown, and just the right amount of topping where the slice stays rigid when you pick it up and not sag. Not too oily. Would eat here again. Many pints in at this point but it hit the spot and satisfied out post beer craving of cheese carbs and meat. Staff very friendly.

Paid £8.0 for a chicken wrap. 3 small bits of chicken goujons (really and never had that before in a chicken wrap let me tell you) and little bit of onions and red cabbage. I asked them to omit lettuce as I don't like that but where was the tomatoes, white cabbage, cucumber or coleslaw etc. The worst chicken wrap I have ever eaten and the most expensive too.

Only place open past 11pm but would still rather starve if I had the option again. Kebab was thin and horrible and everything they served you could see them herring out of the freezer and straight into the fryer.

Having just spent £60 on food and not realising that they actually put the sauce on your food I asked politely if I could have some chilli sauce in the little pot but oh no that will be a £1 !!!! I know a pounds not a lot of money but come on I’ve just spent £60 and to laugh and be so rude in response, not a chance will we ever go in there again. Learn some MANNERS and customer service you ignorant people!

About three years ago since I last ate here. Just fancied some Donner meat chips and garlic sauce. Shocked at prices now ! Mixed kebab with extra pitta’s £25 !!! Even donner meat, chips and sauce £9.50 Strange smell in the car on the way home 🤢 After trying the food I now know why. Cheap frozen fries, really odd tasting Donner meat that tasted REALLY strong of salt and the garlic sauce tasted very very strong of Italian herbs, sadly no garlic. HORRIBLE !

Old guy at the front didn’t know my partner could understand him, funnily enough he shut up when he seen her face change and make eye contact when speaking in their own language so we changed the order to chips and Donnor and requested the Donnor to be cut fresh, we didn’t see him cut any Donnor and claimed he had just cut it at the back and the one at the front was new.. anyways from £9 to £13 plus £14 for sauce sep.. obviously cancelled the sauce, at this point he was trying to make convo and then checking out the girls walking past and saying something to the other one behind him on the food about them.. food was binned as the smell of the Donnor was absolutely rank and that’s even coming from me who’s tried everyone’s Donnor lol..

Absolutely appouling. Didn't tell us they didn't deliver and ended up with a taxi delivery, one small kebab and one large came to £38! Both me and my partner are s****ing thru the eye a needle this morning. Wish I could afford to sue

Not good, ordered some cheese burgers, chips & spicy chicken wings for delivery to our campsite approximately a mile away. Delivered satisfactorily & piping hot, however the food was inedible, the cheapest produce is obviously used, fried in awful old oils, not what you expect from a takeaway/delivery food establishment in one of the most beautiful parts of Europe! I walked back to the establishment with all of the part tried foodstuffs only to be verbally assaulted with what I guessed was a male Eastern European accented bully. The local council needs to get a grip of establishments such as these, a total rip off for tourists resulting in embarrassment for the area & complete disappointment for your visitors!! Not cheap either!!

As a local taxi driver we more often than not will recommend the local takeaway rather than the recently moved in chain pizza place…however, after tonight’s performance I would be doubtful as to whether I would recommend to anyone☹️ bog standard pizza and garlic bread ordered at 19:00 still waiting at 20:00 ..called and they apologised and said it was on its way…..20:30 called again,got the delivery driver who said yes they’re just bagging it up and I’m coming straight out ??? JOKE…how can I promote local when the service is shocking??? No wonder dominoes are doing so well…shame on you local charcoal grill ☹️

Keeps telling anyone that wants to spend less than £10 that the card machine isn't working. Went in on the Wednesday and was able to pay card but went in on the Saturday and a new team of people were in and said the machine wasn't working so need to go to the cash machine then told some teens right infront of my face that the machine could be used if they make the sale up to at least £10. I have no issue using cash but I have an issue with the lie. Food is good but morals are all wrong for me

£8.20 for a speedy wrap. Fellas that is a joke. Was about 3 mouthfuls of food as well. I was expecting an absolute log of food for £8.20 jesus. Its only chicken, cheese and sauce whys it £8.20. To be honest im the mug for buying it. Smh x2. :(

After looking around Bowness for a takeaway to take back to the hotel with us we stumbled upon this place….that was our first mistake…the staff struggled to understand our order, simple enough really when we asked for a mixed kebab…that was it! We asked for extra pitta bread and we’re happy to pay for an extra one, the cost of one mixed kebab and an extra bread was £13!…now we understand prices to eat in Bowness can be pricey, but £13 for a kebab seems way over the top, a kebab at home stands us £8 at most and that’s for a huge portion….why we got from Charcoal Grill was 2 small bits of Lamb, and by small I mean the size of a 10p piece…3 similar sized pieces of chicken, and a tiny handful of lettuce with one piece of tomato!!!!!!…no extra bread despite paying for extra….the portion size was laughable, even if we had paid £5 I’d still have been fuming….however for £13 this was daylight robbery! Onto the actual food itself…..AWFUL….Couple of chewy pieces of meat and a piece of raw chicken, the salad might have been in date last week and the alleged garlic sauce was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted……just avoid this place….unless you want to eat awful food and have your wallet overly lightened for the privilege!!!!

Overcharged me compared to the menu and also lied about what items he'd put in the bag. Ordered a meal deal and one extra chips. Only got 2 out the 4 items I ordered and he lied about them being in the bag

We ordered pizzas, burger, fried chicken and chips from the menu and all were disappointingly poor. Pizzas overcooked, chips soggy, and the chicken bland and flavourless.

We collected a takeaway to take back to our hotel and loved it. We got the charcoal special so had 4 different types of meat. The donner was my favourite and the chips were great too

Ordered pizza and fried chicken last night. My partner started eating the fried chicken he found a long hair ! Then went in for another bite and same thing I had a bite hair in mine too!!The staff were so illmannered wish I'd read these reviews before hand nearly £20 in the trash!!!! Qué broma absoluta. Tardó casi una hora en llegar a pesar de que está a un par de minutos en el auto. Cuando finalmente llegó, el conductor citó 2 libras más de lo que debería haber llegado a decir que era una tarifa de entrega. No hay ningún lugar en el sitio web y el tipo del teléfono no dijo nada sobre esto, así que me negué a pagar. Llegar a la comida y apenas estaba caliente. Horrible. . . Comida ordenada que tardó casi 2 horas en ser entregada. Tenía hamburguesa de pizza y patatas fritas. Hacía frío, la pizza estaba seca y pegajosa, sin sabor y parecía quemada, la hamburguesa era igual de mala. Caro también 17. 80 para pizza vegi con una hamburguesa y papas fritas? ? ? En el lado positivo el personal parecía amable al pedir comida. ¿Ordenaremos de nuevo? No. . . ¿Se lo recomendaremos a un amigo? After a long day of walking and numerous disasters we decided to stop off and grab some food before heading back to our camp. Ordered tandoori chicken kebab in a pitta, burger and chips, popcorn chicken and garlic bread and this came to almost £20. The food smelled amazing so we were looking forward to it. On the way back, we had the garlic bread - stone cold. Got back to the tent, no chips with the burger and a poor quality burger at that. Opened the chicken tandoori kebab to find 4 tiny cubes of chicken that wouldn't even fill half a pitta. Incredibly disappointed in the portion sizes and the fact we had missing items. I don't think we will be returning.

Expensive and poor quality. Did not enjoy the tasteless chicken tiki kebab served up from here with its rather skinny portion of chicken and watery salad.

Popped in here to soak up the shandys with my fiancée. Took a good 25 mins to cook. I had the southern fried chicken and chips. The batter was really crispy on the outside but was uncooked underneath so ended up picking off all the mushy batter. Not nice. Fiancée had a chicken wrap and liked it. Prices are a bit high compared to the backstreet takeaways from where we are from. Wouldn’t go back in here.

Visited here on a weekend away. We were struggling to find somewhere halal and saw this takeaway whilst out for a walk. So we went and ordered some food and it was pretty decent.

I visited here on a Friday night after arriving in bowness with my family, rather than eat out we just needed some quick and easy food. I was a little worried after reading some reviews on here. How wrong they are in our experience. The guys behind the counter were very friendly and chatty with us. We got chicken kebab, garlic sauce, chips & margarita pizza. The food was really good, everything you would want from a pizza takeaway. There had some seats inside if you want to sit in. I would definitely recommend.

Ordered 2 small chicken kebabs for delivery. Came with pitta and a nice salad. Quick delivery, good price and very nice meat.

Employees have a ‘private’ toilet I used, there was no toilet roll, no soap and no recyclable paper towel for hand drying, the staff are clearly using this and not following the correct washing procedure and is disgusting and environmental health have been notified.

We decided to get a takeaway for dinner and decided to try the Charcoal Grill as they'd dropped a menu through the letter box recently. This was a big mistake, the burger was very cheap (thin) and burnt, the chips were overcooked and clearly recooked several times and inedible, the kebab was so bad it went straight in the bin, to make matters worse the pizza was burnt black, the whole thing was a real disappointment and a complete waste of money, the dog didn't even want to eat it. We had to wait over an hour for the order and pay a delivery charge, we will not be back. There are other much better places locally, don't waste your time or money here.

me and my brother were staying in windermere and decided on take away for dinner.we went to the charcoal grill and the establishment was clean the staff were friendly although spent most the time talking a different language. the food although was very nice and good priced. my kebab of which I'm used to having the pitta cut open and filled with meat salad and sauce was placed wrapped on top of the container not cut open which made it impossible to eat like I normally would. maybe that's how it works up north as apposed to in norfolk. would use again and would ask for it to be cut and filled.

Best takeaway in Bowness. All foods delicious especially pizzas and burgers. Just whats needed after a day fell walking. Very reasonably priced polite and helpful staff and fabulous food. We would like to know what the secret ingredient is in the pizza bases. It's addictive!

After a long day around Lake Windermere we (me and my better half) fancied kebabs. I have to say that the kebabs at Chatcoal Gill where just average and the gentleman that served us was very unhappy in his job. When we walked in he seemed annoyed that we came in and wanted to order food.

Just ordered have been here before, ordered cheese burger with garlic mayo and cheesey chips with garlic mayo. No garlic mayo to be seen, burger was cold and the chips where stale. You know when chips have been reheated and they have that dry mushy texture? Gross. Would take it back as I live local but I'd rather just go elsewhere.

Decided to try the delights of this place. there was quite a queue of locals, so that says its good. We weren't disappointed.

my boyfriend and i ended up having a few drinks and ended here for some food. the staff are polite especially to deal with the drunken public. the food is freshly prepared we watched them make both the pizza and kebab; so was served piping hot. however the pizza was abit bland. probably wouldnt have eaten this food without the copious amounts of alcohol drunk

Had a few pints across the road with my other half then spotted this takeaway. Went inside and orderd 2 donner kebabs, a moment later someone climbled up through the trap door in behind the counter and started cooking. Received our food then went back home. After the 1st bite i started to question what meat she had climbed up through the trap door with as it had an awful taste that left a bitter tingling feeling in the mouth. Wasnt sure if it could of been the amount of alcohol we had but i tried it again in the morning sober which made it taste 100x worse! Never again will i eat there and maybe think a vist from the health inspectors, rspca or health and safety could benefit us all.

It is your usual pizza / kebab house but I have to say the food is lovely. Service is quick and it is a cheap way to eat if you have booked an apartment or house. Not sure too many hotels would be impressed at you going back with food!

We were recommended the chicken kebabs from the restaurant and they were very good. The waiting area is very small so orders get easily mixed up with other customers. It also looked like the pizza menu was rather large, but we didn't try any.

We had doner kebab, chips and large pizza.. The pizza wasn't amazing, it was just okay tbh.. Chips were chips but the kebab was the tastiest I'd ever had! We were very pleasantly surprised! Would defo recommend the kebab over the pizza.. So if your ever stuck for where to eat or the parking around bowness stresses you out as much as it did me and my partner then you can't go entirely wrong grabbing a quick meal from here, reasonably priced too!

Wasn't expecting a la carte, it's a kebab shop after all. Anagram of a la carte is a real cat, that's nearer the mark. Kebab was fairly ropey, but the chicken wrap was an absolute travesty. £4.80 for 3 small deep-fried(YOUR SHOP IS CALLED CHARCOAL GRILL!) pieces of chicken with no chips or salad, wrapped in a parcel smaller than a greggs sausage roll. I know what it's like when you're drunk, you'll eat anything and regret it the next day. This is the only place where you'll regret it the same night. AVOID.

We decided to have a night in so we ordered from here the food was great we had mixed kebab for 3 meal sounds like we were greedy but to be honest you wouldn't have been able to feed 3 with this meal unless on of you had a chip and a pitta bread :) the chicken kebab were the best of what we had I would say if you want a nice chargrilled takeaway in the area you wouldn't go wrong with this place

We had a few kebabs from here and found them to be very tasty. My wife likes the lamb and I prefer the chicken and both came with a good helping of salad. There were no tummy troubles to report which is always a bonus!

The last time I was in bowness this establishment was closed, but while there last week I found that it had re opened after having a facelift. This is the only place in bowness to get a burger, kebab, pizza. I stopped in one evening after leaving bodega and picked up a kebab, it was very tasty. Glad to see this place open again.

Went here last night and never really expect much from fast food places so was expecting to be disappointed. I was pleased to be proved wrong. Only had a cheeseburger but have to say it was the best burger I've ever had. I ate it all which is saying something as I can only normally manage half then get bored an throw it away. The staff were very polite. Place was spotless. Ignore the bad reviews and give it a go

The service was good. The staff friendly and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. There was 8 adults and 2 children and we was placed in an area suitable enough so the children wasn't too much of a disruption to other diners. Very enjoyable

This was a really good little takeaway, then the owner sold it to his cousin and then it went pear shaped. Lacking in customer service, said order would take 30-45mins, after an hour they phoned and asked for directions, which were given, after hour & 45 mins I phoned them and they asked me to collect because they could not find my house. They never rang back to get directions again or apologise. Will use Flames in Windermere now, plus it has more choice and cheaper and deliver withing the specific time!

Please please avoid this disgusting takeaway I personally refused to eat from here but my fiancé did so I am writing this on his behalf as he is ill with food poisioning, sickness and been on the toilet 7 times (sorry if to much Info) I questioned the owners after going on scores on the doors to find out the hygiene was poor and they were rated a number 2, she was extremely rude and told me to f*** off and that scores on the doors is wrong, the place was disgusting, the staff are Bulgarian and after visiting Bulgaria myself I have to day I question whether the chicken is indeed chicken and not dog. It may sound like I am being harsh but I'm bring completely honest and would advice people to stay away from the 'only' takeaway in bowness, go for a nice filling meal instead of having to take time off work being ill.

Been here a few times (mainly because there are no other takeaways in Bowness) the lack of competition is evident as in my opinion it's way over priced for what you get. The food is average and the portion sizes are nothing great. Will still go here again after a night out in Bowness but only because there is no where else.

I highly recommend this place to get wonderful in expensive pizzas or kebabs. My pizza was tremendous and it was so large, wonderfully made and fantastic to eat.

Great little take away hidden on a back street next to the Village Bar and Grill. We got pizza and sat down by the Lake. There are plenty of restaurants in Bowness but sometimes it is nice to sit out. Staff are friendly and it is clean.

Good portion size and even open until 2 am, so good for after Drinkies binging! Hot food, clean place and friendly chaps, will be returning here again a and again
