This place is amazing; had the chicken curry today and it was perfect, nicely spiced, good portions and a decent price. Will definately come again !!

I get my work lunch from here at least once a week. Their Pho soup base is one of the best I've had. More expensive than your average quick lunch but the loyalty stamp card makes up for it with the 10th lunch being free.

Love this place, really close to my office and makes a nice treat on a cheeky lunchtime trip. The fresh spring rolls are delicious and take me right back to South East Asia all over again. Big fan of the spicy Pho too!

Always queuing out the door at lunchtimes because the food is so good and great value! But don’t worry, the queue moves quickly. It’s cheaper than the chain Pho, and you can eat inside although it’s quite small and during the summer very hot- so they serve everything in takeaway containers so you have the choice. It’s around £6.95 if I’m right in remembering?? For a pho beef soup. It’s delicious! The curries they serve on special most days is also incredibly tasty- my friend always goes for these and I go for the pho. I’m yet to try the rolls because I can never resist getting pho when I go! Would recommend time and time again, great value for money and really tasty.

Around St. Pauls it really is a tourist trap - there is a lot of overpriced food and to be quite honest a lot of boring food - on the main ludgate hill road there is only big chains like pret, eat, itsu - and Chao Now is a shining light in the area. Although it is in the back streets - you will likely find it due to the huge queue coming out onto the road during lunchtimes. Don't worry - service is very quick and most people takeaway - however there are some tables to sit and eat. They serve a few curries, and lemongrass chicken, pork and beef. They also do noodle salads and noodle soups and pho. I always get a lemongrass chicken banh mi - but sometimes get a rice box if i am a bit more hungry (great portion sizes). The sides of pork spring rolls is also delicious. They also do specials. This is genuinely the best place i have found for a lunch around this area. I recently moved offices and i really miss this place. I whole-heartedly recommend this place.

Was looking around for somehere different to eat when wandering around the St.Pauls area of London and came across Chao!now will a small queue out side. The food smelt very good. I played safe and went for the chicken curry and rice and found a stool to sit on in the shop. Facilities basic but adequate Very nice service with a quick turn around of customers. Would go back again.

This place is just around the corner from my work and I've been here many times. Sorry to be boring but I always order the chicken noodle salad which is so tasty I'm actually salivating right now just thinking about it. You get a huge amount for what you pay for so its great value! Chicken noodle salad is literally noodles with a bit of cabbage/carrot/lettuce and heaps and heaps of lemongrass chili chicken. Brilliant authentic flavours! And there is always a queue at lunch so its gotta be good right?

The smell of this lovely place drifts up me every weekday morning. If a review can just be based on smell , this place gets five stars. But fro the numbers who glitch here for lunch, I suspect value nutrition and taste are a match for smell!

Me and my friend often go to Chao! for a Vietnamese chicken curry and summer rolls. The food is excellent - large pieces of chicken are nicely cooked and very tender, the sauce has enough kick to it, however we always get an extra spicy chili paste, which we absolutely love. The service is very efficient and friendly.Chao! is extremely popular with long queues form outside, which in my opinion only proves the quality of their food.Recommend to everyone, top marks!

Working in the area and a colleague recommended this place. More expensive than a sandwich, you can eat in or take away and there is usually a very big queue outside. It's tasty food. I have not strayed from the bahn mi so far. Spicy and tasty it packs a punch. They also do lots of others things, noodles, soups, salads and prawn crackers. Well worth finding out about.

I used to trek 40 minutes to a place near Goodge Street for an amazing bahn mi, until I discovered this place! When I first visited, I tried their bahn mi and it was gorgeous - the meat was tender, the salad fresh and altogether incredibly flavoursome. I had that repeatedly, until I plucked up the courage to try something a bit different... the rice box. Wow! Again, the meat is tender and the portion size probably too big, but it is too good to leave. The fresh coriander, nuts and chilli really take this dish up a notch - it is much more than just meat and rice. The staff are great, really efficient and quick, which is helpful as sometimes the queues are out of the door at peak lunch time, but that's normally a good sign. It's tucked away which is a shame, as more people should know about this great little place. I find the price more than reasonable too. When the area is saturated with Prets, Pods and EATs, it's nice to find somewhere like this with a stunning flavour and fresh produce.

Have been a frequent visitor for lunch here for many months now.Consistently great food. The lemongrass chicken on rice is superb as is the chicken satay and prawn skewers. The Banh Mi and Pho are also worth a look at.If you can handle chilli/spice would strongly recommend asking for the chilli paste - it's a genuine game-changer. Made on site, keep asking the owners to bottle it and sell it on the side!

I saw a colleague eating a dish and had to know where it was from leading me to this excellent place. The Vietnamese beef stew has chunky beef pieces, carrots and some other exotic potato like vegetable. The curry they use is spicy and close to a thai red curry but more watery. The portion is not that big for the price but was enough for me. There is always a line of people waiting to get takeaway but its well worth it.

Visited this place thinking it was affiliated with Chao kitchen in Whitecross Street (which is the best Vietnamese street food in London). The service was beneath my expected standard and the banh-mi was not as tasty as I expected (again based on the ones I've had at Chao Kitchen). Just not good enough for me.

Fun, fast, filling. Great place to stop by. Very small shop, maybe ten seats? A dozen? You have your choice of four? meats (pork, chicken or two types of beef) in three (?) ways: on a bun, over rice in soup. If you want soup, pickup the container in the cooler behind the counter and hand it over and they'll add hot broth and meats (if I recall correctly - although the meat may have already been in the container). The snack skewers/noshes aren't as good, I'd skip those.

My colleague and I are completely addicted to Chao Now. It's an unpretentious gem with a good atmosphere and amazing food. The staff are so friendly and really pack your box full! A combo box will get you loads of rice, two kinds of meat (like lemon grass pork or stewed beef...yum) with some Vietnamese salad, fresh chill, lime, crushed peanuts AND a few grilled prawns to top it off. For something less hearty there's pho and rolls of course. All fresh and zingy. All for around a fiver! What more could you want?!

I had high hopes for this place as I love Vietnamese pork rolls but was quite disappointed. The rolls arent made to order and come from a stack already made so the bread is a bit soggy. They arent filled with the traditional ingrediants and the filling isnt generous. For £4.50 for one the price is far too high for what you get.
