Often call here for drinks/snacks/meals when we take the grandkids to the feed the ducks. Always get a friendly and pleasant welcome by everyone. Meals/snacks have also been excellent. Ok it may need a bit of a refurb but I'm not there to look at the decor!

After a lovely walk in the country park we called in for a coffee and slice of cake. Lovely surroundings and as there is sparse places to have a coffee this was highly welcomed by the family. Fair prices and polite staff. Appreciated they allowed our dog to sit in too especially as it was raining. We enjoyed this little cafe so much we visited twice. Nice and clean not to mention lovely and warm too. Highly recommend.

We visit the country park regularly with our little dog and always call at the cafe for a coffee and Welsh cake after our walk (the Welsh cakes are fab!). There are a few benches to sit on outside the cafe, where we prefer to sit, but dogs are allowed inside, which is nice. The staff there are always helpful, nice and welcoming.

Loved my double shot latte. The miniature welsh cake served with it went down a treat. Went back for lunch and had a delicious traditional cawl. Looked bland but the lamb and vegetables were delicious. Asked for help in cafe about the Brecon Way and as the young girl didn’t know she directed me towards one of the Rangers which was good. The Rangers info was excellent and she also gave us a pink leaflet about the country park which really ensured we strolled around the whole park appreciating the reason for the different areas. Lovely way to spend a couple of hours and I liked that we only had to pay for the car park and not to go in the beautifully maintained park.

Have stopped here many times for food and drinks. It has beautiful scenery and a lovely woodland area to walk around. The cafe...it is nice for drinks. They offer a lovely Welsh Brew cup of tea and it is served with a tasty miniature Welsh Cake- lovely touch! Can’t fault the tea. They also offer a great cream and marshmallow hot chocolate. It is expensive for what’s on offer, but it is worth the little extra expense drinkwise for the surroundings. Foodwise, it’s okay, not the best but not the worst. Only major let down is the majority of the staffs attitude, it is always negative and as if they are ‘put out’ by any involvement with you, however there are one or two friendly staff members. The Lady in the art/glass shop next door is an amazingly friendly person, so when visiting the cafe it’s worth popping in to see her!

I recently visited Craig y Nos Country Park, having been several years ago, and remembered what a lovely place it was. I went with family members including a guest from abroad. We arrived in the morning deciding to have coffee at the Changing Seasons Cafe near the entrance. What an awful experience ! As there were people sitting outside at picnic tables we were not sure whether it was self service or waitress service. On entry to find out there were 2 females behind the counter who glared at me. If looks could kill ..... ! ‘ Here’. one said pointing to the counter. I duly ordered our coffees to take outside. We were hoping to have lunch here so I enquired about looking at the menus. ‘ They’re on the table’ came the sharp reply. A smile would have gone a long way ! By this time I had noticed a display cabinet on the counter containing food. However I couldn’t see inside due to evaporation on the glass. We drank our coffee, enjoyed our walk in the park and left to enjoy a fabulous Welsh welcome in the Penycae Inn down the road.

Overpriced for poor service and mediocre food. My three year old had to open the door for me so that I could carry our drinks outside. When the waitress brought the food she accidentally tipped most the crisps on the floor and mumbled a sorry but didn't get us any more. The tuna in the tuna baguette was drowning in what must have been most of a jar of mayonnaise. The coffee was weak. I would definitely recommend visiting the park but don't accidentally leave your picnic at home like we did. And maybe take your own flask of coffee!

We live locally and regularly walk our dog in the Country Park, often visiting the cafe for hot drinks and the odd cake, neither of which can be faulted. The staff are very nice and are always ready and willing to help in any way they can, but the cafe is sorely let down by the meagre meals and quality of food - I'm looking at you, Pork Sausage Baguette. At £4.50, you might expect a little more on your plate than a pair of cheap white baguettes with ill-fitting sausages and a literal handful of crisps on the side. Last time we ordered the same we were offered a sample of some of the lovely chutney for sale behind the counter, which added a nice, tasty touch to an otherwise rather bland meal. The sausages were standard - for a pound or so less I'd have no real complaints, but £13.50 for two 'meals' and a pair of drinks seems a little steep for what we got. Tasted and was presented like a meal ordered from a food van - a little more love (a side salad, or even a few more crisps) would add so much to the whole experience. We'll return for the cakes (and lovely hot chocolates), but sadly not for the food.

Called for lunch here with my family, including 2 wheelchairs! Despite being very small and quite rustic, we were warmly welcomed by all staff. The menu selection was pretty large for such a small place, our meals were all totally home cooked and unique. We had rabbit and pancetta burger, lamb and mint burger, fish and lamb shank. Totally faultless and so very tasty. Service was excellent, we didn't wait very long at all. This is going to be one of my regular lunch places from now on! The only down side was that the room was quite cramped, but the food and service more than made up for it. Looking forward to going back in warmer weather so that we can eat outside overlooking the beautiful Craig y Nos National Park. Next time we will bring our dogs, so nice to find somewhere where dogs are welcome too!

We popped in here after a walk up the Carmarthen Van mountains for some refreshments. We were greeted immediately in a friendly and efficient way, and ordered a cream tea (one scone each with jam and cream and a pot of tea). We were asked if we wanted either a plain scone or a fruit one. I ordered a fruity one and my partner a plain one. Almost immediately the efficient little waitress went off to get our food, and then came quickly to see me to apologise and say that they'd run out of fruit scones (it was quite late in the afternoon). I told her not to worry, I'd have a plain one. Off she went to do our order. As it was a beautiful day we went outside and sat at one of the many tables with a lovely view of the Craig y Nos country park lake. Not very long afterwards the waitress returned with our tea and told me she'd found me a fruit scone after all! She also told us we could have a refill of our teapot if we wanted, all included in the price, which we thought was a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our cream tea, and would recommend this place at least for teas, and no doubt other food was just as good.

We were a party of over twenty, including five children, two dogs and one hubby. Every August, the ladies of 'Alltwen Heels WI', have a walk, and meal, instead of our 'formal' meeting. Paul had been most helpful, and kindly agreed to keep open later than normal, for our 'get together'. I had phoned a day or so before, to notify them of our menu choices. as we were ordering from the 'Meal for two for £12' menu, which is a choice of two courses, either starter, main or sweet. The tables were already laid for our arrival, with a nice touch of fresh flowers. We chatted away happily, whilst waiting for our orders, which were all freshly cooked. The fact we had an additional five children to order for was no problem, and I had mixed up a couple of menu choices too, so these were soon sorted.Everyone enjoyed their meals, which were ample, and the children had the choice off the same menu, but slightly smaller portions, which made a nice change from, 'chicken nuggets and chips' etc. The two young ladies, one to wait on us, one to cook, coped really well with quite a large order, and choices, and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to you both, for making our August event so enjoyable, good food at a very reasonable cost. Sadly, the weather closed in, so the walk was abandoned, sadly, some ladies had to adjourn to the local pub! Such hardship. We shall return...

Both ordered a large breakfast, individual price of £6.95.Arrived on an unnecessarily large plate, obviously to make the meal look like more that it actually was. Bacon was undercooker with slimy rind and it was also cold, as were the beans. Sausage, black pudding, eggs and hash browns were all swimming in grease. Sausagea were of a poor quality as well, which was disappointing for this type of cafe.I was also appalled that the staff allowed a couple with a dog to sit in the same area as us, surrounded by people who were eating. Very unhygienic. Tables needed a wipe down and floor could do with a thorough sweep and mop! I will be sricking with Gegin Fach in Ystalyfera in future as this place is a real let-down - such a shame as the location is beautiful.

Have visited this restaurant several times since it opened. On this occasion it was with friends, who were visiting the area. The owner, Paul, uses many local suppliers, and is always happy to discuss the origin of the foods on the menu, on this occasion we enjoyed a variety of home cooked pasties. The restaurant has a great view of Craig Y nos Country park, a great place for walking. We have enjoyed a variety of foods here, their afternoon tea is great, served on vintage china, and more than enough for any one person to consume, these teas need to be pre-booked.The restaurant also supports a number of local craft suppliers, reasonably priced. Paul and his wife have also introduced 'Theme Nights', which my daughter and her husband have enjoyed. Good point for walkers, well behaved dogs are allowed, a real bonus.
