Champagne+Fromage - Covent Garden in City of London, Westminster

Went to Christopher's for the first time yesterday. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Mac & Cheese was very oily. Steak was decent though.

Really not what I expected. Didn’t even bother to read why we went to the restaurant. The food was terrible and overpriced. The French toast was actually nice but not worth the price either.

Great place for American classics. Service was lacking.

Staff were really accommodating, two members of our group have disabilities. We asked for a discreet table and that's exactly what we got, excellent treatment

Loved Christopher’s! The food was fantastic and the experience was great. The only feedback is for the salmon and scrambled eggs that should be on the bread rather than serve the way it is.

The service was very slow had to wait for a while to be seated even though the lady at reception was very helpful the service during the meal time was very slow we waited for a while to be served kept asking for someone to take my order and the the toilets where unclean and messy and the service during payment was very delayed and slow so overall service wasn’t great, French toast isn’t worth the hype either which was disappointing however they did do a little celebration for the birthday girl which was the only thing nice.

We went for brunch the chicken and waffles were exceptionally good. Friendly good service

My food was lovely, partner said his was average. Service was very slow although I appreciate it was a little busy. Toilets were vile, stunk and wallpaper was coming off the wall. Wouldn't go back.

Christopher’s is rated highly for their brunch and my expectations were quite high. We were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly. We had the Lobster Mac&Cheese and the Eggs Maryland(Crab cake, spinach, poached egg and hollandaise) - I’m sorry to admit that both dishes were very average. The eggs Maryland was salty and the Lobster Mac&Cheese has the chewiest lobster I’ve ever had. The cheese was just melted with no notable crust. What really saved the day were the amazingly fluffy blueberry pancakes. Woooowwww I will have to go back just for that. The service was really average, might just be a busy Saturday afternoon.

Food was very good and at lunchtime with the set menu, good value too.

I received the 2 hour champagne and cheese tasting as a birthday present. This was an amazing experience- great cheese and champagne pairings in a small group that felt like a great dinner party (with an expert guide!)

Food was fabulous, service was super swift and friendly and the decor is lovely!

Beautiful surroundings second floor dining room. Nice prix fixe menu. Dinner was very good start to finish and timed well. We shared buffalo mozzarella and then both had fish. Mine salmon and his sea bass. For dessert a strawberry cream concoction.

Beautiful space, felt very modern and welcoming at the same time. The menu is amazing, all my breakfast favourites e.g. egg benedict. Tried the popular french toast and it did not disappoint! I can’t wait to go back.

The food was delicious and the service was perfect. The value quite good! The music was not peaceful.

Great limited bistro booked with a virgin experience voucher for 2 and had a glass of champagne each with a platter of cheeses, bread, crackers and deserts. Would highly recommend, Also ordered a flight of 3 champagne’s which were lovely too. Just slightly disappointed that we were not offered the teas/coffee at the end but really did not spoil anything

Dining at Christophers is always a very enjoyable experience. The staff from meet and greet to waiting staff in the dining room are pleasant, friendly and professional. Our main server was lovely, very helpful, warm and nothing was too much trouble. Just a slight gripe on the speed of service sometimes. We asked for condiments to accompany our main course and it took about 10 minutes to arrive. I think there was maybe a little mix up in which server was organising that and sometimes no servers were in view. Also, I did state in the booking on ‘occasion’ that it was a birthday but I had to relay that info later to serving staff as I don’t think that had been passed on to the dining room. I would have expected meet and free staff to perhaps check that with us and relay info to waiting staff. In the end our lovely server delivered a special dessert sparkler but I wonder if I hadn’t casually mentioned it if that would have been overlooked.

Best French Toast I’ve ever had. Service was amazing and really made my birthday special. Couldn’t believe how quickly we were served food.

Fabulous Champagne & Fromage afternoon tea! Can’t think of a better choice for afternoon tea than cheese and champagne! Really authentic place, staff were lovely and very knowledgeable about the cheeses. Everything was delicious - we will definitely be back - thank you!

We were looking for a quiet place to enjoy dinner on our last night in London and this one came up as a quiet place to enjoy good food. Unfortunately, upon entering just the lobby, I could hear loud music coming from upstairs and began regretting my choice. Having already paid to make the reservation, there was no alternative. The dining area was decorated nicely with large windows, but they had rhythmic dance music playing the entire time and it was very distracting and unpleasant. Each diner was required to order a main dish, which was bothersome because some of us would have liked to try some of the delicious looking starters and appetizers that they had, but knew we weren’t hungry enough to eat all that food, so we were all stuck choosing something from the small mains list and forgoing the nicer choices from the other sections of the menu. The food was good, though several of our dishes were quite spicy. Also, some of the meals seemed lacking. One in our party ordered a burger, which arrived on a plate by itself. No garnish, no side dish, just a burger on a plate. My husband ordered tacos, which ended up being 2 street tacos, and not enough for a full meal. I wouldn’t recommend this place as there are plenty of other places in the area that would be better value and more catered to the customer and not the desire of the restaurant.

This is my regular go to London venue when out with friends. The ambience and service is always great and make it the perfect place for pre-theatre drinks. Would highly recommend the Nutella martinis

This place is going down hill, and fast. Have eaten here a few times over the years and this will be the last. Friday evening in August and the place was virtually empty, and I can now see why. Service was very slow, only seemed to be two staff serving. Take next door to us was very loud - and yet they could have spread guests out rather than place the few they had close to each other. Food was good, but expensive and slightly smaller portion size than many similar places

Not enough tomatoes on the avocado on toast or feta. The coffee was not hot. It was expensive for what we had £55 and high service charge. The place had no ambience

Bones in the chicken. Worn out interiors (stairs need a paint job and everything looks tired and worn out). Basically empty. Service was good but couldn't salvage the terrible experience. Overpriced, bad drink portions, bland food, no salt and pepper provided, just a very tired and disappointing experience overall.

I went expecting an American Style brunch, i was sadly disappointed, this is just a very expensive place to eat mediocre food in a very noisy enviroment. Definitely on my avoid in future list.

We went for the Sunday brunch, and were disappointed by the overall service. There wasn’t one consistent server, and it took asking twice for water in 20 minutes to receive any. At that point, our service was relatively rushed, and came in quickly. Although after that point, it took another 20 minutes or so for someone to come take our plates. (No one checked in to see how our meal was, or asked if we wanted anymore water/drinks).

Good service, but it was a bit chilly sitting in the offshoot room. Watching another couple put their tongues down each others’ throats was a bit offputting.

Exceptional place, a real gem of a find, the service was second to none, Remi was an absolute delight, service food drink, everything was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Amazing experience and food. Service is amazing. They do a cute surprise for birthdays with a firework candle. I would definitely recommend booking a reservation since a lot of people were there when we got there for ours. The food looks just like their instagram and tastes amazing. We will definitely return.

Best brunch/breakfast menu I have seen in a long time. Difficult to know what to get! Service was excellent and the caramelised peach french toast was delicious.

Very well knowledgeable champagne had the champagne tasting flight. Thoroughly recommend. The champagne flight changes every few days. Extremely knowledgeable gentlemen serving me- Remi. Olives were the best I've tasted in England!

Excellent pre-theatre meal; friendly staff and great food: brownie was amazing!

This was an extremely disappointing evening. We were served stale bread - warmed to disguise its staleness - wine arrived after the food (which was no better than average) and had to be asked for, waiter did not check on us during the meal. The restaurant was devoid of atmosphere. We left to have dessert and coffee elsewhere.

Our food was served within a good time frame and it was very nice. I was dining at Christopher's for my daughters birthday. We both really enjoyed our food and our experience made her birthday special. We would definitely recommend and we will be returning.

We were highly disappointed by this experience. The table was dirty and sticky. The service was extremely poor and somewhat rude. The sharing cheese board was tasteless, uninspiring and insignificant. Courses were forgotten about and the flight of 3 champagne tasters was mediocre with reduced measures. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Great food. Enjoyed the blackened salmon very much. Good, crisp chablis. And great staff.

Love their wagwyu burgers. Keeps us coming back. However their price has gone up significantly and I'm not sure it's worth it any more. Service was 13.5% for the pleasure of bringing us our food. We weren't asked for drink refills or if the food was okay. Over all over priced , mediocre service. This used to be a treat to go to but I'm not sure we will rush back

Overall it was a great experience, the food was great, staff members were friendly and helpful and even prior to my booking they were very helpful over the phone. They’ve made my partners birthday special!

Food Portions are small Service charge is high Food & dessert came at the same time so desert went cold n ALL the cream melted so didn’t enjoy it which is sad because it was so expensive Mocktails came in small glasses for £10 it’s too much sadly

If kids are with you I wouldn't recommend taki g them here, food is limited and the burgers we ordered were not great. The French toast were nice.

Having been a couple of times before the service sadly has gone downhill. It was a Saturday and they were busy and just not enough wait staff. It’s a shame! Food was good.

Had a very noisy table in the dining room which made it hard to have a conversation, not a huge problem but would have been nice to be able to chat to my husband!! Dont get me wrong I am all for having a good time but some of the language wasn't appropriate for the children in the room.

The food (we ordered the French toast) was absolutely delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed when I got the bill. While booking it asked for a special occasion and as it was my guest’s birthday, I filled it in. She got a nice plate with a firework and one scoop of ice cream but that was reflected on the bill as well. £8 for one scoop of ice cream is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. I think it would be fair if you include this information somewhere while booking as otherwise I would have done something myself which could have been cheaper.

A venue that well deserves more custom. All staff we encountered were friendly and the food had clearly been prepared by a chef and on property. Memory lane trip for us when back in town.

Food was delicious but not economical. It should be served with coffee or tea including the same price.

My wife and I recently celebrated my birthday with a great l simple lunch consisting of Champagne and Fromage. This combination always hits the spot and we have never been disappointed at this fab venue. What is not to like? Amazing quality Champagne and cheese!

First visit but certainly won’t be our last. Great vibe, breakfast was excellent, good choice and very well prepared and presented. Staff were lovely, very friendly and made us feel welcome. Thank you.

Came for afternoon tea covent garden . Disappointed . Certainly not relaxed with load techno music blasting out . We where not offered a choice of cheese or asked what we would prefer . Had 4 hard cheeses which were either tasteless or tasted similar ( felt like it was what they wanted to get rid of. ) Pot of Tea hardly filled 2 cups . Staff where friendly though so no complaints there

We‘ve known Christophers for many years, was always one of our favourite restaurants in London. After 5 years, we came back and were for the first time disappointed. Food was good but the whole atmosphere, service was not the same as it used to be. Many tables were empty. Other tables were occupied by families with small children screaming around. Was especially disappointing as it was a special birthday of my wife.

Excellent lobster bisque and steaks, washed down with a couple of bottles of decent Malbec. The music was a bit too loud at times.

My mom and I absolutely love going to this place for dinner! We've been several times, and every visit has been amazing. As an Italian, I really appreciate the delicious food, and the atmosphere is just so classy. Plus, Francesca, the host, is incredibly friendly and really knows her champagne! She always makes sure we have a fantastic night.

Lovely Sunday brunch and great service. We were celebrating a birthday and it was a lovely touch to have the sparkler on the desert we ordered. The food is just okay. The menu has a great range so should be something there for vegetarians and meat eaters, not sure about vegans. The food presentation was nice too but again food could have been hotter and had more depth in flavours.

I've been to the weekend brunch before, but I haven't been since last year. Got the french toast and the omlette. Both werent as good as it has been previously, but they were ok. Also was celebrating a milestone which I mentioned in the booking. It wasn't acknowledged at all until the end when getting the bill, the waiter said congratulations. Although i appreciate the effort it felt after the fact. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming overall.

Lovely food and setting. Super decor and vibe. Poor service, waited a while for drinks order and plates etc. to be taken. Not asked how meal was going etc. cocktails sent back as really bitter and watery to say it’s a ‘martini bar’. Toilets untidy and needed some attention. Overall lovely food but disappointing experience.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a champagne pairing with a selection of cheeses, and I must say, the service provided by Francesca was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Francesca’s warm and welcoming demeanour set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

This used to be a top restaurant and the quality of the food is still excellent but the service is terrible. At a cost of £270 for two I feel the service should be exemplary. The staff are very offhand, showed no interest in discussing the menu and gave us warm tap water in a jug with no ice or even a slice of lemon. On leaving the receptionist completely ignored us as we said goodbye. In all a very unsatisfactory experience.

The weekend brunch was exquisite there was so much choice it was difficult to choose. -I went with the brioche French toast

It was a special occasion for my friend and I. It being my birthday and us both getting new jobs. I felt the staff were nice but rigid and not very warm. We had nothing to mark any significant celebration, even though I mentioned it beforehand. Thank you for the consistency with the food though. The food was exceptional!

We chose Christopher's because of its location near the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. I had the rib-eye steak, which was perfectly portioned and delicious. My wife went with salmon, I believe, and she enjoyed it. Drawback: the restaurant offers no starch or vegetable with the entree', and we purchased some fries to complement the meal. Overall, a fine, reasonably priced (for London) dinner experience.

Came here as it was right by the Lion King theatre, it was a lunch date with my 7 year old daughter. The service was brilliant, the baked Camembert so good, ambiance and champagne just right. The lovely Matilda looked after us and we just had the loveliest time. Such a great menu, would highly recommend.

This restaurant is a must. The food, service & setting is amazing. I wasn’t able to visit on my last trip to Covent Garden so I didn’t want to miss a second time. It honestly did not disappoint. The French toast was so delicious. The staff were friendly & helpful. I would definitely visit again

Ordinary food served in a nice restaurant. Expensive - poor value for money

Customer service was not the greatest. We requested still water as we sat down but this was never delivered yet charged towards the bill. We waited nearly 20 minutes before we were able to get a waiters attention. They all seemed to be huddled in one corner having a chat. They didn’t seem very attentive or helpful. Food was good nonetheless.
