Chamomile in Camden

Met for a friend for coffee and a snack but ended up eating a little more than I had planned. I ordered a sausage roll. Absolutely stunning. I’ve eaten a few in my time so I know a thing or two about sausage rolls. This was possibly the best I’ve had. I certainly don’t recall having one as good, ever. Sadly, I wolfed it down before I could photograph it! Followed up with a cinnamon bun. Wow! another delight! Got a pic this time. Thank you Jack! You’re doing a fantastic job.

Used to frequent this cafe as the menu was extensive and had many good Gluten free options for lunches. Unfortunately after driving down from Milton Keynes to come for lunch I found that it was under new management that have made the baffling decision to limit the menu to just a few toasties and offer NO Gluten free options. Horribly disappointed and won't be coming back.

Pâtisseries incroyables, services impeccable, gérante aux petits soins. Nous avons adoré et sommes allés 3 matins déjeuner dans cet agréable endroit.

Pleasant enough space to sit in for lunch, the food is also good if not a bit bland but why were we charged £5.50 for a glass of orange juice containing no more than the juice of two oranges? Not justified simply overpriced.

Friendly staff, clean tables, and the food was tasty! Found this by accident walking around in search of a local spot for a “full british” and happy I did. Really enjoyed it, even sad i couldn’t finish it all because the serving size was larger than expected!

This was a deliveroo delivery that they changed the components of my order. I did not get what I wanted, no RICE with the chilli just oily leaves. they wont put the matter right and neither will Deliveroo, they say the restaurant can change and do what they like. Really peeved with both.

Nice relax place, friendly staff but unfortunately food should be improved. Toastie was without any flavor and omelette much too dry. Large choice for a café but I won't recommend this place if eating well is important for you. But nice atmosphere and again nice staff.

I have been to this cafe quite a few times due to convenience of where it is in proximity to my workplace. I finally had enough and recently stopped going. The service is always slow and the food is overpriced and of poor taste and quality. But the most awful thing about all of my experiences there was listening to the owner berate her workers, and younger customers. My friend went once with me. We waited for my food (take-away) inside as it was raining outside. The owner told us to wait outside and my friend refused as we did not want to be poured on. The owner then snidely asked if she had ordered any food and my friend said in response “we ordered…” (speaking for the group). In response to this the owner snapped at her and said “no. She did. Don’t lie to me.” And then berated her. And I have the sneaking suspicion that this was either age and/or racially motivated.

Very bland sandwich which didn't come with salad or chips as specified. Also brought out the wrong order, sadly took too long to make in the first instance so didn't want to wait for it to be corrected. Waiter was unfriendly. I also wasn't sure about their 5-page long menu... all very disappointing!

DO NOT GO HERE! If you went here a couple of years ago - this place is no longer the friendly happy cheap and cheerful place it once was. CRAZILY overpriced!!! Have been going here for years and it is just not the same now. Ordered 2 breakfast meals and 2 coffees which came to £40… it was very average dry up with no special features to it at all. The environment is awful. The tall waiter with odd hair is so grumpy with customers. I get that customer service can be tiring but he is so rude and made it such a hostile environment with all the customers looking at one another confused and shocked as he made each one of us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The nice lady who owns it is lovely but lower your prices and make it how it used to be PLEEEEAAASSSEEEEE!!! £40 is too much for the food I got. Decide whether to glam up the environment and presentation or make it cheaper. Your cafe makes no sense at the moment it’s just a bit weird.

This was my first visit post lockdown and I am so happy to report that Chamomile has maintained its high standards. The food was excellent as usual with interesting dishes, all delicious and beautifully presented. Lovely coffee too. It is easily the best lunch venue on England’s Lane. The other newcomers are good for coffee and cake, although I must say that Chamomile are still selling their amazing pecan pie.

Nice cafe but service was quite slow. One member of staff seemed to be working hard and served us as soon as she was free but there were staff closer to us who spent the whole time sorting cutlery or not noticing us as they walked past. The drinks were nice but the banana bread we had with them was quite dry and heavy. I’m on the fence about returning.

Popped in to get takeout coffee and a chicken sausage baguette with fries. Their Americans coffee is really, really, seriously good. While the food came quickly and was really delicious. The chicken sausages were super tasty - shockingly good sausages. And the fries were very tasty old school thin fries - a very generous proportion of them went down a proper treat. Loved it.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 15 years but this time from the second we walked in the waiter had the worst attitude. He messed up the order and didn't bother to apolgise. Although he forgot a part of the order he made out like I had inconvenienced him. Terrible service.

Have been here a few times and every time an older man serves us has been an unpleasant experience. He has been incredibly rude and sarcastic every time without fail to the point where I feel uncomfortable even being there. He made us feel like we were inconveniencing him by even being there. The last two times I have been here they have forgotten part of our order and not even apologized. The food is nice but very overpriced.

Chamomile er en charmerende lille lokal café, holdt i moderne stil men med et old School twist - love it! Atmosfæren er rigtig god og stedet er velbesøgt blandt de lokale. Betjeningen er venlig, menukortet stort, serveringen hurtig, portionerne tilpas, maden super lækker og priserne fair. Hvad mere kan man ønske sig?P.s. Deres Chokolade Shake er to die for!!

Our airbnb host suggested us to go to the Chamomile to have breakfast. It is a cozy cafe a 5min walk from Swiss Cottage metro station. I took the French toast and it was really good, I think it was made with panbrioche and not simple bread. Also tea was superb. There is a wide choice of smoothies/juices etc.

Had a lovely lunch here today - mushroom omelette and salad, and a spinach quiche and courgette salad. Friendly and prompt service. Highly recommended

Absolutamente deliciosamente café en el carril de Inglaterra en NW 3, almorzamos aquí dos veces y, en la segunda ocasión, Irit, el propietario nos llevó a través de los carteles de películas antiguas y la pintura de Bob Dylan del restaurante de papá. Tuvimos la ensalada de oise con salmón, tostadas de aguacate y el pollo César. Todo bien con Peronis para hacerlo aún mejor. Los dulces y el espresso también son geniales. El ambiente es amigable y local. Verdaderamente una auténtica experiencia inglesa de brunch, desayuno o almuerzo.

La manzanilla es un lugar muy agradable, amplio y luminoso. Era un día frío y esperaba que la comida caliente me calentara. Pedí el desayuno vegetariano. Lamentablemente, la tostada estaba fría, la seta estaba fría al igual que los tomates. Afortunadamente, los huevos fritos todavía estaban calientes. No le dije nada al agradable personal, ya que estaba con un amigo y sentí que era inapropiado hacerlo. Pedí té: una bolsita de té en la taza (una tetera pequeña hubiera sido más estética) y el té no tenía sabor. Delightful cafe and very reasonably priced! I came here in dire need of a good old English breakfast and Wow did I get one!! It was HUGE, nicely presented and thoroughly delicious. As someone who's been to numerous cafes around London this definitely ranks with the best, being very spacious with attentive & energetic staff. The pile of newspapers were an added bonus and great for the lone diner. I thoroughly recommend this welcoming oasis!

I used to think this was the best cafe on this stretch of Belsize Park but I'm not sure now. I've been coming here for years on Sunday mornings but have stopped sadly: the new menu is much more limited and pricier too. Old favourites like the Bondi breakfast and porridge just with fruit or a simple compote have all disappeared: "we don't do that now" I was told. It's a real shame and I hope they listen to customer feedback as with a couple of very good cafes on the opposite side of the road competition is very strong here now.

Been coming here for years and have always really enjoyed the menu, particularly the Detox salad. For some reason I don't particularly understand they have decided to change a winning formula and introduce a new menu, which frankly is a poor replacement. In particular, the new Detox bowl isn't a patch on the old Detox salad. I have asked management to keep the Detox salad, but it fell on deaf ears unfortunately. Suspect we won't be back as often going forward. Lots of other nice cafes on England's Lane to choose from though.

The location is lovely, the people are nice but the chef is awful. This is not my first experience. I ordered scrambled egg on toast with chives and an extra sausage. The food arrived and I could see no evidence of fresh or dried chives. The sausage was dry and had a hard casing as if it had been in the oven for 2-3 hours. It was throughly disappointing. My son has eaten here too and reported the same with a spag bol. The coffee was good and the cakes look as if they are made off site so probably a safer bet to stick with that if you plan to visit.

Dropped in for breakfast on Sunday about 9.30. we had a choice of table, 20 minutes later it was packed. Super buzz about the place. the service was very speedy delicious breakfast with interesting choices as well as the full english. Everything cooked to order but no long waits

The environment, staff and the food all were good. We had omelette and full english breakfast which they both were so delicious and were made of good quality ingredients. Definitely recommended.

I have been going to Chamomile very regularly for the past couple of years and have always loved their brunch - eggs Benedict are to die for, and their special potatoes are truly amazing.

Although it doesn't look much from the outside, this is a hidden gem. Everything is very reasonably priced and the portion sizes are massive (try the falafel dish!) Their hot chocolate with coconut milk is divine too.

Me han visitado Manzanilla con mi familia en el fin de semana y me han sorprendido cómo era el amable y profesional personal a pesar de que eran extremadamente ocupado. El director nos la encantadora recomendado aguacate triturado y la increíble tostadas cursi con hongos que realmente disfrutamos.

Yo tenía un amigo de visita y nos decidimos venir aquí para el brunch con un par de amigos. Mala decisión. La verdad es que el lugar es muy agradable y que nos dieron una mesa para 7 en 10 minutos.

I visit this cafe almost everyday . I've been around a lot of cafes in NW3, this has the best vibe about it. It is professional and cosy at the same time. The food is wholesome, the coffees hot and perfect. The staff are lovely, Cristiana, Robbie, Kris, Rosa, and Andrew I am the most famaliar with. They are attentive and focus on customer satisfaction even at very busy times. This is probably why I can get a lot of my research/reading done here and know that I'll be looked after. Cheers guys keep up the good work!

I have been coming to this cafe frequently for 12+ years. Today I popped in for a quick coffee at 11.15am and sat at a table for 4 people. There were lots of spare tables and the cafe was probably only 20% full. The waitress asked me to move to a smaller table because it was lunch time (11.15am really?). She was very rude. I left as it was easier to walk out of the door than relocate. This is a local restaurant that relies on local residents and repeat business, so the recruitment of appropriate staff is vital. To ask me to move when the restaurant is empty, in the middle of the morning was ridiculous. I will be living here long after the aforementioned waitress has left.

We had breakfast here, not a great atmosphere, staff not very friendly, food ok. It a handy spot if your short on time.

Consistently the best cafe in the area. Delicious food, diverse menu, and always fast and attentive service. A good amount of veggie/vegan options on the menu, as well as weekend specials.

Nous sommes entrés par hasard chez Chamomile et nous n'avons pas été déçus. Le petit déjeuner anglais est très copieux...

Estábamos en Europa alrededor de tres semanas; y ya había una lavandería automática a verla una vez llegamos en Londres para hacer algo que no estaba lejos de nuestro hotel. Iba a tomar algo de tiempo para hacer unas pocas cargas, y luego, por supuesto el turno entre lavadora y secadora. Por suerte, teníamos planeado para tomar el almuerzo mientras que lavar la ropa, y Camomila resultó ser sólo un par de puertas de la lavandería.

Sólo tenía un fabuloso desayuno en chamonille.

We don't visit London that often but if we ever stay this end of town this café is on the "go to" list, excellent food & service, very friendly staff.

We have never failed to have an excellent experience eating great food provided with a friendly service. The coffee is great now too. As a recent regular visitor I was very surprised to read the odd negative review but then realised these were by people who seem to give more negative than positive reviews.There is nothing wrong in giving constructive criticism but one should always raise any concerns with the staff giving them a chance to correct matters and not just write about them after the event. Everyone is entitled to an off day but I am always impressed at how much the staff care about giving their customers the best experience they can.

Me and a friend went for the first time to this lovely caffe. We were working on some photos for my recent work and I must say that you couldn't find a more enthusiastic staff! Not only the service was great, the food tasty, but also they let us use the best part for some great pictures! I totally recommend it and I will be coming back!!

For Food and service, Chamomile is the best breakfast and lunch café in and near Englands Lane. However, the one thing that they do not get right is the coffee. The coffee is tasteless, and I think it is weak, although a friend I went with thought it was weak and too strong. Dear Chamomile: please review your coffee.

I've Been to chamomile last Saturday, I can't imagine how busy they're! The food was amazing, I never tried that before only in chamomile last Saturday. Drinks was amazing too, although it was a waiting time, but I really do understand specially if it's busy day! I had cheesecake aswell after my brunch and a lovely latte with skim milk... yum! All the staff was very busy, but I've been attended properly! I will be coming back again and again...

Been there so many times and I must say I don't enjoy it anymore. The service always seems to be overwhelmed and the last 5 times I went I received my hot beverage half way through my brunch which is not cool. Food is alright.

Food is OK, but somewhat expensive for what it is. A bit silly that they list smoothies (not specials) at the front, but then don't put them on the menu. However, the real problem is the service, which is truly dire. Some staff don't speak sufficient English. But the real problem was the large blonde woman who stomped about, banging things on tables and grabbing things off them as she was walking past, like a guard in concentration camp or something. Unpleasant. Did not deserve a tip.

We now regularly use this little gem of a cafe for breakfast when visiting London . The sausages and bacon come from arguably North London's finest butcher across the road and the rest of their fare is also of the finest quality. The poached eggs with my full English are always done to perfection! My wife usually goes for their scrambled eggs with chives and always finds it delicious. They freshly make up fruit and vegetable smoothies to your own recipe and the attentive staff . They have a good selection of the morning papers and the ambiance is always friendly. We stay around the corner at the large hotel there and would never dream of having one of their offerings now that we have discovered Chamomile.

A popular and trendy place to have breakfast in Belsize, we were lucky and there was a vacant table for us, but later people were almost waiting out of the door. A mix of people, families and groups of young people and also older people too. We chose the full English breakfast, which came hot and tasty too. We also ordered a bacon sandwich and the gluten free porridge with apricot - now for someone who doesn't normally eat porridge, this says a lot about the porridge served at Chamomile (which is excellent!). A great cappuccino too.Seating outside on the pavement and food to take out as well - Chamomile has our vote!

This place is banged out for breakfast at weekends. Kids, babies etc mum adds grand etc etc . So if you ask them for runny eggs and a well done sausage, even when they are not full. Don't be surprised if the eggs are runny and the sausage is not well done. They don't care! Why should they ?

Stayed at local hotel and didn't want to pay for hotel breakfast so came here instead. Fabulous menu with something for everyone, friendly relaxed environment, good value and really tasty. Would definetely recommend. Fresh juices are also delicious.

I go to Chamomile a lot, I find the service excellent and the decor nice and quirky. However I've noted quite a decline in the quality and freshness of the food offered and it's twice now within a month that my family and I have been sick after lunch there.It's a pity that the cooking doesn't live up at the moment to the generally good atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I just had an amazing brunch at the chamomile. We had fresh hot lemon and ginger tea pot. Full English breakfast with rustic bread, free range sausage, free range smoked bacon, beans and poached eggs. Food was brilliant and full of flavour. High quality produce. The food it made by a chef and setting is light and airy and very cosy indeed. Window seats gave a a nice view and for a Tuesday afternoon it was not too busy but enough to make it cosy. Food came out quickly once we ordered. Staff were extremely professional, welcoming and happy. Would highly recommend and for an upmarket area, especially as put meal only came to £20.50. Brilliant Bargain Brunch!!!!

Busy cafe in a popular street nestled in the popular Englands Lane. Coffee is really good and food tasty. Service, a but 'entitled' i.e. you're luck to have a table here... perhaps they are right as the street is busy!!What could be improved, make us feel a little more welcome and for heavens sake learn to promote your wares better... tasty stuff and well hidden.Of course, I'll go back!

If you want tasty well prepared food and good coffee in the Belsize area this would be my choice. Yes, it's somewhat eccentric with a variety of wooden chairs, and it can get very busy.

Met some friends for brunch and came across this little diner. Nice friendly welcome, the place was very busy, but the staff reassured me we would have a table for 7 in five minutes...atmosphere was lively and pleasant. Other diners engaged in conversations and made you feel at home. Good solid choice for brunch....everyone cleaned their plates...literally. Price good from a full English to the daily special all under £9.

Decided to try this place for the breakfast. It was a quit busy on Sunday later morning, definitely time for families with children, but you will find a table anyway if you wish to. Eggs Royal really surprised by a different serving with the potatoes. Scramble eggs and salmon called the chamomile special with toasts is a taste sensation!Come back again for your cheesecake!

I'm a regular customer here.love chilling out with my son. The staffs and foods are really nice. It's very busy during weekend but you can really see that they preparing freshly food.

Service was very slow. I ordered a toasted sandwich which was not really toasted and then we ordered tea and also a hot water in order to add more water to the tea. They charged for hot water. This must be the only place in London that charges for hot water. Then we waited in a queue for 10 minutes in order to pay the bill. Very disappointing.

If you need a change from the usual pub grub and crave a salad and fresh juice head into Chamomile. Serve great coffee too.

Dropped in for a light breakfast for two.Waitress was super attentive, handled our split order superbly and kept our baby happy too.Super service, great breakfast. I had pancakes with 2 rashes of bacon. And my partner had full vegetarian with poached eggs. Coffee was good aswell, for affordable price. My partner loves the hot chocolate with whip cream on top. We visit this place occasionally and will keep going back if it's always this good.

A friend of mine and I went to this cafe for a coffee last week and because the temperature was quite Mediterranean, we both opted for iced coffee, one with milk and the other without. I expect to see a pale colour for the milky one not with the black one! infact mine was verging on shades of grey. The flavour was on the awful side and the ice prices must have gone up recently as tepid would have been more appropriate. My friend insisted that I should have complained when I was really not in the mood but on the way out when I went to pay I did say after all that the coffee was horrible. I would like to emphasize the reaction of the 3 members of staff. The guy that was taking my card for payment smiled as if I just had paid them a compliment! his colleague said “ I know” and my interpretation was that if you know can only means that some previous customers might have said a similar think therefore the logical thing would have been to change the ” Gourmet Coffee” that you are branding. Another lady which had a managerial look came in and said something possibly in code to her that made the waitress almost smile like she was announcing that I had won the lottery! instead I was going to get some discount. I took the receipt without looking and went out and only after walking ten minutes or so I did take a look at the receipt and both of us burst into laughter instead of £ 5.40 I paid £ 5.14! I find that quite insulting. If they wanted to trigger ” A good will gesture “ they should have charged me one coffee instead of two, maybe! However, the main purpose of the complaint was that we were just pointing out that the place was quite nice but it didn’t reflect on the quality of the coffee!!! The staff seemed to convey the message that they didn’t really wanted to be there! No empathy whatsoever. If café/restaurants get hygiene warning with some of them risking closing down then places like this one should deserve the same treatment, if revolting coffee is served!

This small cafe is in a cool part of London just 5 minutes walk from Primrose Hill. I had salmon and scrambled eggs. The eggs were some of the best I've ever had. A great place to meet with friends.

In the last 2 years I have visited Chamomile often for coffee in the morning and occasionally for a light lunch. It is a very popular venue among locals and quite busy over the weekends. Their coffee is to me one of the best in London, the food equally good. It always has a nice atmosphere but it can get a bit too noisy over the weekends in the morning. The staff is friendly and the service good.

The cafe is very cozy, and the staff is simply lovely. I came here the first time for brunch: the experience was really enjoyable and the food.. Well, the food is always delicious, you can even find plenty of fresh and organic options! The cafe is not very spacious so sometimes you have to wait a bit for the table, and yet it's worth it! I've had a very good time here!

Not en route on my daily commute, but I make sure to take a detour every once in a while, as this place is a (hidden) gem! The food is great, the prices very reasonable and the staff has a great energy. They also have this kind of deli and cake counter in the front in which they have some delicious options for take away.

My friend recommended to me this cafe, so I gave a try. I went there last Saturday for a brunch. I got really warm welcoming by staff working there. I got delicious brunch of crashed avocado with crispy bacon-just amazing! I found this place really nice, with polite and smiling staff. Highly recommended!

Friendly small cafe with a decent variety of options for food. Tried the crab cakes which were a little heavy on potato but not bad and the coffee was excellent. Good service and a nice place to pass the time with free wifi.

Very bad service, seriously the staff is just rude and overpriced foods with bad quality. Selling salads from yesterday for the same price and I used to go on a everday basis for my lunch

Really enjoyed the food here and met really interesting people too! The food was great & prices very reasonable! Chocolate cake really great as well as breakfast & butternut squash soup! You can go early before the inside opens on the weekend & sit outside & have coffee & pastry! Really good menu to select from!

I come here regularly for brunch and always really enjoy the food. The service can sometimes be a little slow but as a vegan it is nice to be able to visit somewhere with a couple of options, particularly the delicious vegan cakes !

To call this a cafe is an understatement, the breakfasts , brunches and lunches are fab , eggs royale always good , salmon nicoise delicious and the fresh cakes and pastries always amazing , no wonder it's always full , so lucky to have my favourite aunt living 2 minutes walk away , always enjoy taking her here for a bite to eat

On the weekend get here early as it can get very busy- everything on the menu is great but we always look forward to the specials or the eggs Benedict. Ingredients are usually good. It's a nice casual place to go with decent food on England's lane.

We strolled on a walk from priory road in west hampstead and got to chamomile. My bf had done it before and recommended it. It was super lovely and busy almosr full on a quiet midweek day.Seated, we ordered a nicoise salad with salmon and an omelette and toast. Must say that they were delicious but a bit light. We had to order toast again.We had 2 coffees to go as well which were good.Can be more generous with portions or with toast without charging for half 2 pieces. I mean too smallNice staff. Cute place for a casual lunch in such a residential area

Stayed nearby and discovered this local cafe, nice discovery for a tourist.Friendly service and extremely fresh food. The Vegetarian choices were lovely. It was a very lively place with nice smoothies and juices. No pretentious feeling was lurking about which was nice.

We eat have breakfast here often and have never been disappointed. Good WiFi, good service. Try it - you'll like it!

I am a regular at Chamomile and can only say lovely things about it. The atmosphere is so welcoming and cosy. The food is always fresh and for London, it is well priced. I usually get my English Breakfast with one of the freshly squeezed juices. I have also tried their soup, chicken salad and fish cakes. All delicious. If you are by Belsize Park, do pop by!

Chamomile induces in me a feeling of general well being like a sigh of pleasure and relief at being away from the froth and casual off-handedness of other cafes jostling for attention on England's Lane. I know that my eggs benedict will not be sullied with truffle oil or saffron and if I opt for wilted spinach it will be neither boiled nor raw. The staff are grown ups without the need to show obeisance nor prove their superiority over me and I like that, especially in the morning.

I had brunch here, and got food poisoning afterwards. It might have been an isolated unfortunate one-timer but I will not go back. And I would not recommend it to anyone...

Have been quite a few times and always quite enjoyed it. Good menus, nice specials, increasingly lots of healthier things on option (particularly amongst the cakes at the front of the cafe). Highly recommend it for breakfast or weekend brunch, yet to try it for other meals. (Worth booking in advance to avoid a wait).The only negative thing was that for the first time I can remember, there was really poor service on my last visit. Specifically, the waitress tried to clear the table whilst one member of the group still had food on his plate and was eating. She then proceeded to clear it and left his plate there on its own. She then came back to clear it again whilst he literally took the last mouthful of food off his plate - he hadn't even put it in his mouth and his plate was gone. Very bizarre as there was no sense that they were in a rush to get us out and there was no one waiting for a table at this point.
