Rocked up to Chai Walla on a Friday with the sun shining, I’ve been meaning to go for some time now. It did not disappoint, value for money is always important, and for £7.50, I’m stuffed. The Onion Bhaji wrap was very tasty, definitely be brave and get the chilli sauce because it levelled the wrap. The man behind the counter was very friendly and helped generate a community buzz to the place which I liked personally. Would recommend :)

It’s a small shop around the corner. Onion bhaji wrap is famous, don’t expect authentic Indian taste, however, for the price and quality it justifies. Taste is decent.. you can take your order and find place to sit near the bench…

THE BEST THING I’VE EVER EATEN. This is incredible, paid £8.50 for a chickpea curry with extra onion Bhaji. Didn’t just get one, got about 6 small Bhaji’s. But the taste on the curry is incredible! This might be the best place to eat in Bath full stop! Although there’s no seating, well worth a stop for the best curry you will ever eat. Couldn’t applaud this place enough, great price even better food, incredible value for money! What a hidden gem! Very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff too! Not a single thing you could improve.

Delicious, affordable vegan food. Bath is okay for vegan options, but nothing beats going into a restaurant knowing you can eat anything. Technically, this feels more like a fancy street food stall- it's in a tiny shop that just about fits the counter, and you wait/eat outside. There are limited options, but they're excellent choices that you know the staff have perfected; I had a falafel wrap (deep fried! Very different from supermarket falafels) that was well portioned and created with care. I'm interested in trying their other options. While you won't get a comfortable dine-in experience, if you're looking for quality vegan options on the go this may be a good choice for you. The staff are lovely, too.

The most affordable and least desirable Indian food in Bath. My wife is from India and we make a lot of home cooked foods. We both decided that the food tasted more like Mexican than Indian. It’s filling tho and good if you’re on a budget. Overall would not recommend.

Despite the lack of leg room in this eye catching, humble and quaint little shop, the service and quality of its food made up for its small stature. The falafel and bhaji wraps were divine and bursting with flavour, the mango chutney sealed the deal, creating a wrap like no other, and the complimentary Samosa was the cherry on the top. Side note … if you haven’t tried onion bahjii before, we highly recommend…! At first we were weary but once the succulent taste hit our mouths we were thoroughly delighted.

CHAIWALLA 42 Monmouth St, Bath BA1 1EN Average spend for lunch : £6 - £10 pp During our visit to Bath .. we had a friend who was vegetarian and we all wanted to snack at same place at a reasonable price We stumbled upon CHAIWALLA it's a smal joint in the heart of the city .. No place to sit indoors.. only takeaway.. The place was busy and was operated by a single member of staff which was a bit surprising.. but I believe owner was trying to save cost on manpower and may be happy to lose business in attempt to save cost .. dealing through the work pressure and orders coming in through one after the other the staff member served everyone with a smile and managed to have a short conversation.. during which I was made aware about the history of the place I ordered onion bhajiya wrap and my friend ordered chickpeas curry and rice ... The food was delicious I would highly rated this family run business serving the tastiest food at reasonable prices..

This place is great! The onion bhaji wraps (excuse my spelling) are cheap, flavorful, extremely filling and can be spicy for some people (I didn’t feel much spice, my friend looked like he’d just gotten off a hot ones episode). Ours was freshly cooked & both falafel & samosa were hot). I wished I lived local & not just on holiday. I'd be a regular customer without a doubt.
