I was extremely delighted when a friend recommended this place to me for authentic Desi Breakfasts. I have been going there every Sunday for the past 4 weeks. Their spiral prathas remind me of Mozang Chowk Lahore and Paya takes me to Taxali Gate of Lahore. Green pink tea reminds me of Bagh, Azad Kashmir. They have every authentic Desi Breakfast, you can think of.

Visited recently as a group of six. I will start by saying that the food is always excellent here and the staff very friendly. However, the service on this occasion was very poor. We were seated for 7.30 which was our booking time. 75 minutes later we were still waiting for starters having only had poppodums. When the starters did arrive we were one missing. 2 hours after being seated at 9.30 we still had no main courses. Only when we indicated we were going to leave did our food arrive. We were not the only ones in this situation that evening. Staff were apologetic and indicated they were ‘busy’. However, during the 2 hour wait we had seen many take away bags being collected and people were still being seated. It appears that take away takes priority over those eating in the restaurant. Advice would be to turn down take away orders if restaurant bookings can’t be served in a timely fashion. Despite the food being excellent we would think twice about eating in again. Friends that were with us had experienced this previously so I don’t believe it was a one off. They thought they would give the benefit of the doubt but I don’t think they will visit again.

Thira Restaurant is a hidden gem for lovers of authentic South Indian cuisine. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, with a focus on Kerala flavors, including mouthwatering curries, dosas, and seafood specialties. The spices and flavors are perfectly balanced, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an excellent choice for both intimate dinners and family gatherings. The staff are attentive, friendly, and happy to recommend dishes if you’re new to the cuisine. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and the overall dining experience feels thoughtful and authentic. Thira Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the vibrant flavors of South India.

Food arrived hot and on time. Vindaloo was great, very hot and king prawn butterfly is the best around by far
