Dinner served until nearly 9.30pm. The Bollywood Night was great fun, cleared the central tables to dance, modern Bollywood/Western music, from the movies, great atmosphere, danced until 2am. 10 minutes walk from Mornington Crescent, Northern Line. Would visit again.

Had a 3 course set meal at dinner. Good indian chaat / snack options like onion fritters,dahi puri etc. Indian deserts like gulab jamun and kulfi were fantastic !! North Indian starters like Paneer tikka could be added and prefer more variety in main course dishes.

We came for a Bollywood night to celebrate a birthday, the doors were supposed to have opened at 10pm however the running of the night was terrible there was about it 30 of us and they didn’t let us in saying it’s not ready. Why advertise as 10pm door open and not onside by it? They eventually let us in at 10.30pm and said we can’t use the cloakroom until another 20mins and we have to wait by the bar!! This was an absolute disaster on the people who ran the night. The worst of all the guy at the door who was running the night didn’t even apologise. I don’t think I would be coming back here and would not recommend l. There are other Bollywood nights who stick to their timings.

Good food, great service and an extremely lively atmosphere. We focused on a bunch of starters / chaat items rather than the main course, which was a good decision. Their chai was made fresh and it was very good! We got mixed pakoras, samosa chaat, paapdi chaat, and kurkuri bhindi, all of which I would recommend. (Double up on the mixed pakoras, trust me! They were the best.) Among the starters, I wouldn’t recommend the mini masala papad basket– it’s just plain mini poppadoms with chutney and doesn’t have any value for money in my opinion. For the mains, we got the subzi aur paneer biryani which was ok. I’m aware that vegetarian biryanis aren’t always amazing, and this one you can easily pass on. However, the banarasi kofta, daal fry, and kulcha were much better. The kofta was not sweet (per everyone at the table), and the daal had all the right flavours. I can always appreciate a restaurant that does a good daal rice with banging starters. For dessert, our table got the shahi matka kulfi, and devoured it! It was a tad bit too sweet for my liking, but very creamy and had a decent amount in there. I’d recommend splitting one matka between two people. Overall, it was a good experience and I’d definitely visit again.

10/10 recommend FOOD: super yummy. I usually do an extended review but all I can say is try it for yourself. We didn’t have a single bad dish at Chai Thali, and we chose this spot over Mowgli Street Food which I’m now curious to compare. Ordered the Aloo Corn Tikki Chaat, Paneer Tikka, Hyderabadi Chicken, Garlic Naan, Kulfi (pista flavor) SERVICE: very friendly, and very helpful with suggestions. ATMOSPHERE: casual PRICE: I felt the price was very reasonable for two I will certainly be back on my next visit to London and recommend to others.

Chai Thali offers excellent quality food at reasonable prices. The portions are generous, and the variety on the menu caters to everyone, including vegetarians and meat lovers. Don’t miss their Butter Chicken—it’s the best I’ve had in a long time.

I went for a quick takeaway, looking for a wrap, around 8pm on a weekday. The place was practically empty, but they declined to go the extra mile to make wraps or even customise my takeaway requirements- which was not complicated ask - just split the dishes in smaller portions because my daughter was to eat in the car on our long drive home. The food was ok, at best. The smile on the guy's face, I guess the one who cooked and/or packed the dish was priceless and if my observation is right, had a tinge of apology. I guess poor management decisions.

Been there around 40-50 times in the last few years. Food, atmosphere is amazing, and all the staff are so friendly and curtious. In my opinion it is equal to Dishoom but so much cheaper and not so precocious and a much better experience all round. Going again on Saturday for a family meal, can't wait, keep up the good work guys.

Tried Chai Thali for the 1st time. Fantastic food, comfy location and amazing service by staff. Satisfied meal of the day that much I can say, we managed to satisfy our taste buds through food we ordered, Rasmalai was best of them.

A bit out of the way in Camden Town but serves delicious Indian food in a fantastic setting with great service.

Unfortunately the reviews seem to be about the food that used to be good there perhaps. The menu is too big and the food was stale. Pani Puri was not fresh and the papdri chaat was bland and soggy. Fancy presentation doesn’t mean authentic street food. Service was good 👍 but food was a let down.

Food is pretty bland and overpriced. However the waiters are super nice and the atmosphere is good. I can see this being a good option if you're in a big group or if you value drinks over quality of food.

Probably the best Indian restaurant in North London - we went on Bollywood night and it was such a great atmosphere! Would recommend the Samosa Chaat!

The chai tea was probably the most flavorless chai tea we’ve ever drank. Do better. How you have the nerve to promote this drink has the best chai tea in London is absurd.

Ok I know it's late, but I had to, let's start from the service waitress was rude and uninviting as if we were the problem, the food was cold only the kebabs "seems" be hot but NO! the taste was not at all the way the actual kabab tastes... Samoas where oily, the funniest part was that the chai was spicy... Biryani was kichadi.... And upon all that if that was less waitresses were deliberately forcing for the review on their name.... 👐

The service provided by Priyal was perfect and she even brought us some yogurt because the dish we had chosen was spicy enough for us! It's a very good address, we particularly recommend Nanas, they were really incredible!

We recently visited the Chai Thali with our friends and we had some amazing time and lovely food with nice Bollywood music. Khusi suggested us some wonderful food options which are great. We noted food is little expensive.

We celebrated a birthday here a few weeks back and have visited a few times before. We are impressed with the food every time as well as friendly and helpful service by the staff. There is also an excellent range of vegetarian options including the vegetarian platter and nice mix of mocktails too. Very pleasant atmosphere and lovely decor. We will visit again! I ordered the Paneer Biryani and Vada Pav. The biryani was flavorful, with perfectly cooked paneer and aromatic spices. The Vada Pav was equally delightful, Service was commendable, with Priyal attending to my needs promptly and with a friendly demeanor. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Hidden gem in Camden. Delicious food and vibrant atmosphere. Priyal who served us was warm, helpful and welcoming. Lovely cocktails both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, meal finished with refreshing kulfi on a stick, plus a takeout bag for tomorrow!
