It's a great idea to present local cheeses in a similar way to sushi. There's no shortage of quality or selection, and matching wines are also available. And for those who don't exclusively like cheese, a bit of ham also makes an appearance every now and then...

While eating at another place, my boyfriend and I saw Pick & Cheese and we knew we had to try it. Thank god we did! Hero, our server gave fantastic service and made sure we had everything we needed. She was incredibly kind! My boyfriend is a sharp cheese lover while I am not. Thankfully they had plenty of options for both us. If you ever wanted to experiment with different cheeses, this is the place to do it!

Rotating selection of cheese, great pairings with the cheese and wine, what more could a gal want? But for real this place was everything we expected it to be. The trays come fast but are plentiful and with a lot of variety. We loved trying the cheese alone and then pairing with the unique pair they had it with. We went for the all you can eat on Wednesdays which was nice because we didn’t have to stress about being strategic in our cheese eating. We loved the truffle cheese and one of my other favorites was a crème with beet chips. It was such a fun experience on the palette and would recommend to anyone that loves cheese. It was also in a cool food hall that I’d love to revisit.

The idea of a running cheese restaurant is, of course, great, and we had a great time and a lot of fun. The cheese selection is large and varied. However, some of the prices are quite steep. Furthermore, the bar is located in the middle of a food hall, which made it quite loud and uncomfortable.

Everything was fine but that's about it. It's not that overwhelming, and it can get quite pricey since the cheapest plates are about 5£. It can be a nice alternative for dessert but if you're looking to make a meal out of it, be prepared financially. The Pick & Chesse is located at the top floor of Seven Dials market and there's plenty of room, so you probably won't need a reservation.

First time here, and enjoyed it, the food and atmosphere - but a couple of the named cheeses had been substituted without customers being told unless they asked specifically; not acceptable behaviour when they make such a big thing about the cheese selections and pairings.

Great selection of cheeses that are both fair-sized portions and good quality, paired with perfect accompaniments but also a selection of meat and pickles available, and refillable Peter's Yard crackers. All dishes are served on the belt and cheaper than sushi belt restaurants. You can even keep a record of which cheeses you taste by ticking off the menu! Service was a little skant with only two people covering lots of diners, and the atmosphere is in a food hall so lots of people passing by. However, our lunch for two people (five plates each) plus drink each and 12½% service for £70- and it was brilliant fun! Would happily recommend and go again 😁

I don't understand the reviews on this cheese bar. Yes, the cheeses are excellent, there’s no denying it. The prices are not cheap, but given the quality of the cheese and knowing that we are in England why not. But getting 12.5% extra service (written in very small letters of course) when there is only the drinks service (since you help yourself to the food on the conveyor belt) and the latter was late (in addition): excessive! Same for the price of bread, exaggerated price. In short, it's a steal and I'm sure you can find better and more affordable options in London. Too bad, because the concept itself is cool!

site_logo

Gwen Renet . 2025-04-19

MORE AT Google

Several things are wrong - the service notes of 12.5% are not stated and its stamp is small at the bottom of the menu, plus the only service we have is to serve us drinks. By the way, we asked twice for drinks. - then the prices are quite expensive for the quantities offered we reserved a table for 6 people and we had 8 pieces of bread and on top of that the bread was charged 1 euro per small piece of bread - small positive point the food is good In short, if you want something nice, there are plenty of restaurants around with the same atmosphere.

This is a strange experience to have, I would recommend it to you, but I would also not at the same time. Some cheeses are fantastic, most were very good whereas some are an abomination to cheese. The cheese element and trying them is fun, especially with some of their interesting pairings. However, the feeling that you're in a zoo is overwhelming. We were there for around an hour and tourists must have took about 50 photos of us sitting there. You feel as though you're being observed and it makes for an uncomfortable environment. One thing that frustrated me also, we did not have any service when we were there but had to pay a large service charge. We only had an odd interaction with one person who told us we had an hour left when we were seated for 15 minutes. On reflection I wouldn't go back but I found it something worthwhile trying. I found as vegetarians they lacked anything but cheese, some alternative may make eating their bottomless Wednesdays easier. We started to find it a slog after getting to our 10th plate and wanting to find all those we hadn't try which we were able to.

We were intrigued so we did the unlimited cheese for a Wednesday lunch and we had a good time. Our group ended up being able to try all of them and everyone’s favourite was the pairing with the Turkish delight - unexpected but a perfect balance of sweet and salty. We also loved the Dazel Ash with shortbread (though one bite is enough, a bit too sweet to have the whole thing to oneself), the Lucky Marcel with apricot jam and Lowfields Lancashire with lemon curd. The Cheese Bar is located in the Seven Dials food hall. We were there at 5 pm and the whole place was hopping. We chose a carafe of red wine and pulled a selection of cheeses paired with sweets. They were ranked from mild to bitter. The cheeses we chose were yummy. The server topped up the crackers often. It’s a nice take on a charcuterie board like offering. The rotating belt reminded me of a sushi belt. It gets quite addictive when you get started. Our only complaint was that the stools could be more comfortable. It is definitely worth checking out.

Similar to a sushi bar, countless types of cheese run down a conveyor belt. You get a card with descriptions of each type of cheese. The cheese plates are numbered. An evening here would certainly be very expensive if you were to eat enough, as the cheese bites are very small and the plates are only rounded off with a small piece of fruit or a sauce. As someone who’s interested in learning more about + trying new cheeses, but not wanting to spend a ton of money on cheeses that I may or may not like I love this concept! You get an hour to eat as many plates as you want. They also give you a menu that explains the plates and that you can take notes on. It is, obviously a lot of cheese, so come prepared for that. The cheeses are all paired with a small side bite, like a bit of jam, relish, or a sweet. You also get a little thing of crackers. I’m not sure if I chose poorly or if the cheeses here just tended to be a little to smokey for my taste, but sadly I did not find a new favorite cheese from the experience. But I DID accomplish my goal of trying a lot of new cheeses for a price that was way less than it would have been trying all of them at my local grocery store! I do kinda wish there had been a cheese for beginners key to help explain some of the different kinds a bit more. It was also a bit hard to see the numbers on the little tags till they got close: which is a bit of a challenge when you’re trying to read descriptions as the plates approach. Very much enjoyed, would recommend.

good value if you can do the all you can eat. Something different. Unusual pairings that you wouldn’t think of before. Cheese lovers dream. Could be slightly more of it.

Great cheese. The conveyor belt is cool. The staff take your plate a bit too soon

Worth it. Accommodating staff found our party of five a spot at the conveyor belt. Can't wait to return to sample more. Loved by all, three parents and two 11 year olds.

Website says it’s open until 7pm on Sunday, google says it’s open until 9pm. Travelled across London to try and get a table on a walk-in and the whole place was shut. Nobody answering the mobile number. Really disappointing and misleading to customers, your details need updating.

Run don’t walk to this place! Unreal flavours & such good value for money. Grabbed two of the chicken dishes and rice for £15. Get there early before they run out.

Unexpectedly terrific Turkish food belying the unremarkable exterior. The prawns in particular were fantastic. We'll definitely come back when we're in the neighbourhood.
