We stopped at Chadwick’s on the way home from a morning bike ride. The owners were so friendly and accommodating and the coffee was lovely.

Nice pub/restaurant in a quiet village but not really the place for a light lunch. Only three sandwiches on offer - and these were pretty good - but otherwise you're on to the fairly pricey menu. More a place for a standard full meal.

We went to Chadwick’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary and as usual it didn’t disappoint, everything was lovely. A friendly welcome from staff, exceptional service and delicious food, what more can you want.

Visited after friends bought us a voucher as a birthday gift. Lunchtime visit and very quiet. The menu does only have a small selection. The food was fine and tasty. Certainly not value for money so won’t be rushing back.

I highly recommend Chadwick’s Inn. The ambience here is inviting and comfortable. The food is exceptional - you must try their cod dishes and the confit duck. I am always impressed with their professionalism and customer service. My wife and I have visited many times and have never been disappointed.

The food , service and atmosphere were all to a high standard. It was without doubt one of the best Sunday lunches in the area

Soft warm bread with the finest thin crust to start then delicious ham and chicken terrine , the perfect texture and seasoning ccompanied by delicate pickles and chutney. Pork belly was like a savoury version of a creme brulee - so meltingly soft underneath the thinnest , crispiest crackling . Loved the little blackpudding wafer like spheres (earthy, crumbly bites like a savoury Ferrero rocher) Sorry for all the 'sweet' references ahead of dessert. Rhubarb cheesecake was a heavenly blend of swee, tart, cruchy and soft. All served at the perfect intervals in a relaxed stmosphere by friendly knowledgeable staff. I was the driver so didn't sample the wine but the drinks menu is comprehensive. Would highly recommend.

Booked Sunday lunch well in advance for what we thought would be a guaranteed good experience for mum’s 80th birthday, given this place’s reputation. Arrived on time, manager po-faced, behaved as if they were doing us a favour having us. No acknowledgement of the special birthday. Table was not ready, they made no attempt to help us move chairs so we could sit and wait. We waited ages for our table to be cleared and prepared. Starters arrived quickly but we waited another 40 minutes for our mains, so those of us who hadn’t had a starter were very hungry indeed. No bread rolls available to accompany the soup “because it’s a Sunday”. Had to ask for everything, sauces, correct cutlery, drinks. No one bothered to ask if everything was okay. No apology for the delays. Quality of the food was the only positive, but a very disappointing experience, couldn’t wait to get out of there. Have had more enjoyable experiences in much cheaper places, will not be returning.

We had the most beautiful meal on Valentine’s Day at Chadwicks. Service was exceptional and the food was as delicious as always. Chadwicks Inn Maltby never disappoints! 5 star and would always recommend.

It doesn't miss!! We have visited several times but tonight was my mum's first time. It was a belated Christmas present. From start to finish the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was the star of the show! All 3 of us loved each of our courses each having something different. You get what you pay for, delicious food, cooked perfectly! Couldn't ask for a nicer meal. Easily on par with a few Michelin starred restaurants I have visited.

I can't comment on the food as we never received it but the service was beyond appalling! We arrived shortly after 1 pm and sat at a table at the front of the restaurant next to the window. The waitress took our drinks and food order and we waited. However, we were starting to get very cold and noticed that the fire was not lit. After about 35 minutes we were really cold and asked the waitress where our food was, and also if it was warmer further towards the back to the restaurant. She said that it was and we moved - and she also told us that our food was coming. After 45 minutes we asked again about our food and were told that the waitress had forgotten to put the order into the chef but that it would be with us soon. My husband was served his starter at 1.55. At 2.15 there was no sign of our main courses and we got up to leave - we were frozen, had not had our food (apart from one small starter) and needed to leave. We told the chef we were leaving and the waitress came through, apologised again and said that she would be serving our main courses “soon”. We said that it was too late, we had waited too long and we were both very hungry and cold. It was a very upsetting, disappointing and pretty awful experience.

Another delicious meal at the award winning Chadwicks in Maltby. The Brill was superb, so light with a beautiful tasting sauce accompanied by seasonal vegetables. Delicious Sunday roast lunch - great service and very friendly. Got more sides for the kids when they ate their way through the (large) portions originally served. Really good, tasty food and will definitely be back on our next trip to the area.

Our favourite place for dinner date night-in fact the only place we go. Staff are fantastic-friendly, welcoming and attentive. Food is outstanding, the homemade bread is always a delight, crab is always a winner as a starter, portion size, presentation and service cannot be faulted. Fabulous as always. Worth every penny. (Enjoyed it so much we forgot to take photos other than starters!).

Been to Chadwicks many times before and have enjoyed every meal, so for my Dad’s 80th birthday thought it was the best place to go and celebrate. The service is amazing and staff are so lovely, very attentive. The meal was lovely and very reasonably priced. The Eaton mess was out of this world! Will most definitely be back again!

Very overpriced food, extremely small portions and no atmosphere. Partner had lamb at £29 and had to order sides in addition. i had cumberland sausage which was very elequently described but little more than a traditional pub meal in terms of presentation and almost no mash with 2 tiny cabbage leaves. The cheese board at a supplement comprised 4 tiny pieces of cheese with a few very dry crackers. This was supposed to be a special treat but the only fantastic thing about it was the price! Maybe that was why the place was very very quiet.

We went with family for a wine tasting and meal Menu. The wines were brilliantly matched to food which was of the highest quality. Perfectly cooked. Expertly served. Portion size perfect. A superb menu of local produce. Expert discussion of wines. We are 40 miles away but will be back and shall recommend to our friends. Thanks Lee and the team for a fabulous night.

Expensive charged £1 for tartare sauce to accompany the fish finder sandwich . Soup good crab stater “nice” but very small 2 mouthfuls and gone. Burgers good beef sandwich looked good but beef dry and cold bread dry . Better places for price.

Birthday and combined retirement lunch for my husband which was mentioned at time of booking but no acknowledgement of this whatsoever. Although food excellent the set menu did not come with any vegetables so had to pay extra. Compared to other local establishments this does not represent good value. Carpet throughout restaurant and corridor to toilets is well passed its sell by date! Would not return.

This was a very expensive and disappointing experience. The lunch-time menu (£20 for two courses - no problem) had no vegetarian option. There was a separate vegetarian menu priced at £20 for one course, but there was no option for including this within the lunch-time set meal. £20 for a piece of roasted cauliflower seems excessive to me. And £1 for a helping of tartare sauce?

I was looking for a venue for a family birthday taking place on a Sunday lunch time. I no longer live in the north east so did my research online. I had not been to Chadwicks Inn and nor had my family so I was taking a gamble. Luckily the reviews were right. There were sufficient options to choose from for each course. The food really was great quality and nicely thought through and executed. Some places get a Sunday roast so wrong but these guys were spot on. Plenty of meat and gravy and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. I had to changed the numbers at the last minute due to a family member having COVID but the team here were completely understanding and accommodating. My only criticism was that at some points the staff were not as attentive as they should have been. It took too long to get the attention of someone to come and take payment after the bill had been presented. Overall I was impressed with this venue and would definitely return.

Best value for money restaurant I have been so far in UK. Food was prepared with quality ingredients and carried local flavors and parfumes.

We finally were able to have our first experience of the meal that we had been eagerly awaiting for. However my first impression of service diminished that feeling very quickly. Beer that was ordered arrived, spilling over the sides of the glasses onto the table, lovely.Empty Glasses left on the table, ordered drinks not delivered until reminded after the meal. Staff unsure of the drinks that they do stock. Having said all that I wouldn't give it such a poor rating until you actually get to the meal.Hot tip - when the restaurant brings slices of white bread to fill up on before your meal then you know the portions are going to be tiny.Beautifully cooked and prepared micro portions of courses are to be expected so don't go to this restaurant feeling hungry.Pricing for this fine dining is naturally high and expected, sadly not for the service and quantities we were given.

Food good but more effort needed for lunch time visitors!Sat outside for lunch which don’t get me wrong it’s great they have an outside area, however it was just a few tables in the carpark which meant the table was slanting! The menu was very much an evening menu with no lunch specials or things like salads/open sandwiches etc so different if you just want a light lunch! Food ordered was high quantity though and good wine and coffee! Wound return and eat inside on an evening!

Delivered to the door, Chadwicks at Home Mothers Day meal was a delicate mixture of flavours -Salmon for starters, followed by Chicken breast for me and Cod for my wife. Topped off by quite exquisite Pistachio cake. Instructions on how to prepare were clear and easy to follow. Maybe not the same as dining at Chadwicks but the quality of the food could not be questioned.

Ordered the valentines dine in for 2 this weekend. Food was absolutely lovely. Easy step by step guide to cooking and preparing and I actually enjoyed presenting the food as if i was the chef in the restaurant. First week of second lockdown we ordered a Sunday lunch takeaway for two for collection. Prawn cocktail starters and roast beef mains.Food arrived promptly, payed by contactless, sanitiser as you go in, plenty of space to socially distance, I felt comfortable picking it up.The food was well packaged and remained hot and cold as appropriate. The containers are suitable for microwaves.Prawn cocktail was delicious.Roast beef was substantial and tasty accompanied with Yorkshire pud, delicious gravy, roast potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, Savoy cabbage and baby carrots. The veg had separate individual containers. Great quality meal as you would expect from Chadwicks and we will order again.

First time we’ve visited post Covid. Felt very safe and respectful to customers. Food fantastic as always. Chocolate dessert yum!

The food was excellent, the chocolate desert was amazing. The waiter was amazing, forgot her name. She was extremely patient and I will be bringing my family to this place again.

Our first visit certainly not our last we called in for lunch looking for something a little different we were not disappointed in these uncertain times the owners have laid the tables out so there is still a lovely ambiance but social distancing can be maintained the menu is reduced to a small selection of starters mains and desserts but there is plenty of choice. Husband had the Halibut which he said was perfection it was certainly very popular as most diners in the area where we were seated also had the Halibut. I had goats cheese mousse with heritage beetroot and walnuts with mint oil it was superb vegetarian food is often dull but this dish was lovely a mixture of tastes and just a nice size I had the starter as a main because I don’t eat big meals. We shared a cheeseboard again very nice and coffee and treats one of which was pure chocolate indulgence with nibbles drinks and gratuity it was still only 2 figures very reasonable for better end cuisine. The staff who I believe are made up of owners and managers are friendly and helpful any changes are happily discussed and where possible changed to the customers taste. If you want something a bit different feel like treating yourself you couldn’t do better than Chadwick Inn.

Just returned from having lunch and it's the best, tastiest meal I've had in a long time. The new market menu doesn't have that many choices but there's always the main menu to choose from. I've never had homemade corned beef before but would definitely recommend and the beef and oyster mushroom pie didn't look big but it was so tasty and filling. Would definitely recommend. It may be a bit pricier than pubgrub but there is no comparison in the taste.

Another lovely evening at Chadwicks. The food just gets better and better. Locally sourced ingredients, talented chef producing gorgeous food. It was a family dinner and I found the atmosphere a little intimidating. We had the big circular table, we had to ask for unused wine glasses to be cleared to create more space. Menu a little small, no pasta dish or poultry, nothing spicy, sirloin was ok but I picked that because there was nothing else, not even a prawn starter or scallops or crab. Soup came but no bread and yes the soup had croutons but I like bread and butter, should I have asked for some, no not at that price. Would I go back I don’t think so but that’s my own choice. As a comparative where would I go, maybe harland place or the masham.

I feel I have to start this review by making myself look like a snob - which I am not!

I enjoyed two dinners at Chadwicks and enjoyed them very much.The set menu is good value and there is a more adventurous a la carte.The wine list is excellent with a serious choice that would satisfy any oenophile.I had the set menu on the first night..a delicious creamy chicken liver parfait followed by a well cooked slab of hake with brown shrimps and finishing with rice pudding.All courses were well presented and tasty.The second meal from the a la carte started with a superb salmon mousse and then a delightful main of duck breast with leg tartlet.The cheese dish that I had was a more than generous one with an excellent choice of cheeses.My one,minor,gripe is that whilst a Chateaubriand was on the a la carte there is no fillet steak dish available for a solo diner.There is obviously a talented team in the kitchen and they are complemented by an excellent,young,front of house team.I must mention,especially,Emma,Hannah and Lee,,great ambassadors for Chadwicks.The bar is well patronised by locals and I can vouch for an excellent pint of Guinness being available.The area is not overwhelmed by good restaurants so thank goodness for Chadwicks!

I've visited this place a few times now and I've never been disappointed. The staff are really friendly and attentive at the right times, nice little cosy pub with great wines and beers with excellent food. The chefs do a great job, you can tell they care a lot about the food they serve making sure every detail is spot on. And changing menus regularly with the seasons, putting together elements that work really well together making the dishes great and tasteful. Well done guys! Overall a great team and set of chefs

The restaurant was booked by my daughter who had been before. First time for us though and without doubt it will be the first of many future visits.

Visited this venue for Sunday lunch although food was tasty, it wasn't very warm, and two dishes of veg for a table of seven! The sweets were also luke warm and for those who had the crumble were given a small jug of creme anglaise to share between two people. Two sweets were returned as they were cold, and although these were replaced with a fresh one everyone else had finished by the time they received them and still were not that warm. The manager did take the cost of those sweets off the bill. But we were disappointed overall by the standard on the day.
