I've been visiting The Chandis for many years. I always thought it was OK, but not my first choice. I was wrong and clearly it is much improved in recent years (since 2020 in my view). I would now say that the food served at The Chandis is pretty outstanding. It is fresh and very tasty. Try the Prawn Puri starter and you won't be disappointed. Main courses are also excellent as are the side dishes too. Aloo Gobi & Bindi Bargi - Yum, yum (c8

Thought I would take a visit to our local Indian to help small businesses in our village. I ordered a takeaway. 1 portion meat Samosa £3.90 this consisted of two small samosa which I could of bought 4 from Asda or Tesco for £2.50 1 Assorted platter £6.00 1 Lamb Rogan £8.95 1 Pilau rice £4.00 That brings my total food to £22.85 I had one Cobra while I waited Total bill £29.10 Which means I was either over charged or charged £6.25 for the bottle of Cobra I wasn’t shown the bill the gentle man who served me kept it on his tray while telling me the cost. It was later that I checked otherwise I would of challenged this before sale. My advice is check your bill or if that bottle of beer costs £6.25 don’t bother having a drink when you order a take away. I assume rather 10% discounts for a takeaway has also been scrapped here too as clearly it would of made the cost difference even worse. Next time I think I will just go some where else which offered better value. To have a fair balance the food was hot and good but the costs over inflated.

Really impressed with the standards. We weren't rushed and quality of food was excellent. I don't normally end up with a carry out but I had to ask for some of my meal to be put in a foil tray - it was too good to not. No pics though, too busy eating! The wife's already planning our next visit!

Dear oh dear oh dear. A year since my last review the quality has not improved, probably 2.5 more than 3 stars. 6 small pieces of chicken floating in a diluted korma sauce. Lamb rogan josh that could be a pasta sauce. No taste difference between veggie dishes plus a soggy nann. Come on guys you have a captive audience and I know you can do a lot better.

We are relatively new to Indian food. This is not my fault folks. You see my wife is such a wonderful cook that we have never felt the need to order a takeaway. My own cooking skills are not too bad either. Indeed in the early days of our "courting" a word that dates us I know, she came to my house for a meal for the first time, informing me that she was a vegetarian. Major panic set in. Yet I still produced a meal containing 3 main courses just in case one of them was not to her taste! But, I digress. We have now experienced Chadnis lovely food on at least 5 occasions. Each time the food has been ready on time when we arrive for collection. Each meal has been of an excellent standard. We believe all the ingredients to be fresh and of a good quality. It is very good value, as we often have left overs for the next evening. I don't know about you, but we always enjoy the left overs even more than the first meal, so an added bonus! To sum up, a good restaurant, providing an excellent take away service, with very tasty, beautifully prepared food. We recommend Chadnis very highly. My mouth is already watering at the prospect of ordering our next meal! FYI. They are closed on Tuesdays...Don't ask me why!

Having used Chadnis previously, we have become accustomed to the slightly brusque service on the phone. However, this weekend we were astounded to find a customer in the restaurant without a mask. The person serving wore no mask and the kitchen staff no masks!! There was indeed a bottle of hand sanitizer on the table but was not used whilst I was in the restaurant. Sadly, the food was not hot and had to be reheated when we arrived back home, but was indeed very tasty. However, surely the management of Chadnis need to take responsibility for not only their staff, but also their customers!! Wake up and smell the coffee gentlemen!! We are in the midst of a pandemic with strict criteria for all restaurants....so abide by the rules and protect your staff and customers at all times please!

Cleaner sat outside than inside. The service is miserable and the atmosphere sterile as must be the only Indian restaurant in the UK that doesn't play any background music, not a single hello or smile. The food is dreadful, Sag Chicken that was swimming in oil and the spinach burnt, Egg Fried rice devoid of any flavour, Chicken Tikka Masala bland for a sweet dish.

Loved the food, in fact 5☆☆☆☆☆, compliments to the chef. Might have had dessert and or a coffee/tea but waiter didn't ask if we wanted the dessert menu. Only gave 3 stars as there appeared to be no heating, my chair was against a radiator which was cold. Toilets were cold too, no hot water and hand dryer was blowing cold air. The decor is dated for sure, but i kind of like that about an Indian Restaurant. The staff are very friendly and it's very clean inside and i have seen the kitchen which is spotless. This is my local, but I rarely go except after long while when I think ‘it can’t be as bad as I remember’. It always starts off the same; you phone your takeaway order to be greeting by a surly ‘what do you want’ attitude, but you put it down to them being rushed off their feet at peak time on a Saturday evening or that they may have had a tricky customer before you. 20 minutes later you walk in through and empty restaurant, to be greeted by Mr Grumpy who’s attitude is that life would be so much better if only he didn’t have to deal with customers. Unpacking your meal at home, brings it all back as to why you always drive 5 miles to Aylesbury to get something better. The Chicken Tikka Masala can only described as soup; a few pieces of chicken floating in suspiciously over-red liquid - so thin that it actually pours down the sink without blocking the strainer. The vegetable curry is a least thicker, but it has been on the stove all day and there’s nothing freshly cooked about it. Similarly the popadoms haven’t seen fresh cooking oil. At least the rice was fine and the Nan seemed fresh, but not sure it had seen a tandoori oven. You wonder why they bother and don’t just sell up and give someone else a chance. It could be so good and have people coming from Aylesbury, like the Italian restaurant before it. I can’t imaging they eat this food at home, so why do they pass it off on their customers? People are more discerning now and a restaurant can’t expect to still serve up slop with surly service. I’d have given it one star, but the food doesn’t make you I’ll.

I always do “value”reviews, Ie if we get value for the food. We went in here as happened to be local, the staff and restaurant were nice enough. The food was decent, not the best and not the worst. Nann wasn’t great, but ok. All the food was cooked fresh and took a while, but that suits us as it means it’s cooked properly. Overall was good and would go back.

I went here for a meal with friends. I've been before and it was OK but honestly, the meal I had on Saturday was really bad. I had tandoori lamb chops for starter. Over cooked and quite simply just bones and gristle. I mentioned this to the waiter who told me that that's the risk when you have lamb chops! I've never had lamb chops like that and would be ashamed to serve them up to anyone! Main course was chicken vindaloo - sauce was spicy (which is why I went for vindaloo) but was also really greasy and had no depth of flavour. The chicken was dry and overcooked. Tarka dahl was ok. I love Indian food but this was shameful. I very very rarely complain about food and am embarrassed when anyone in my group does. The reaction of the waiter was a surprise - he was disinterested and unapologetic and even tried telling me it was my fault for choosing lamb chops. Disappointing isn't strong enough a word to describe my experience. Appalling is probably the best word I can think of. I will never go back here again.

Disgusting. My bhuna was so greasy. The grease leaked all over the other food boxed and bags. Tasted of nothing. Barely any meat in the dish. Rice was just long grain rice with a few coloured grains. Was stodgy and clearly not washed before cooked. Closest Indian to my home and I will remain at my usual Indian takeout which is a 20 minute drive from me but we'll worth the wait and the food is delicious!!!!! You're lucky you got 1 star.

We were a group of 5 on a Sunday night and were quite early at about 7pm. So apart from being the only ones in the restaurant apart from the takeaway transients, it is only fair to say that all 5 of us enjoyed our curry. it is worth noting that all of us are pretty discerning when it comes to curry since we hailed from the curry centre of the Midlands. The quality was good, the portions good the quality good. In terms of spice heat we were all used to our curries being hotter but none of us would sacrifice heat for quality so well done Chadnis. Service was efficient and as is sometimes the case not too hurried

We live close to Waddesdon but rarely use Chadnis. The last time we did was probably about 2-3 years ago and we thought it was just OK .I'm afraid that it's still only OK . We ate on a Monday evening at about 7pm and for the duration we were the only customers. The service was quick and the waiter polite. The food was not outstanding. The relishes with the poppadoms were thin and watery although the lime pickle was ok. The onion bhagias and the samosas were very dry and fairly bland. The lamb in the dhansak also chewy and dry. My children had Rangoon noodles and chicken Korma and they weren't too bad. We wouldn't rush back.

We have lived in area for 12 years but this was only the 2nd time we have ordered takeaway from Chadnis as we tend to use Jaflong in a Bicester. I have to say that the Lamb Bhuna at Chadnis is probably the best lamb bhuna we have ever tasted but we also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and it was one of the worst we have ever had. It was so SWEET to the point we thought the chef must have accidentally put too much sugar into this dish. I can't believe that this would be usual way Chadnis present this dish as 3 of us at home found it inedible. Think we will probably stick with Jaflong which is a pity as the other elements of our order were really quite enjoyable.

Living in Waddesdon we visit here regularly. The menu is basic indian food, wich is fine...not oustanding but fine. The main issues I have here are that the pickles for the poppadoms always seem watery and the place really needs a spruce up. Its decor is very dated and it's so bright !They really need to work on the lighting/ambiance. It makes the whole place lack any kind of atmosphere, which is a shame. Will continue to go here for meal as its walking distance from home and like I say the food is fine.

Really enjoy going to Chadnis. Have been a number of times, food and service is consistently good. Nice atmosphere. Is not the cheapest Indian that you will go to nor is it the most expensive either. Varied menu, the traditional dishes you expect to see and a good range of specials. There dishes tend to be packed with good combination of spices and flavour as opposed to the strength of heat and chilli.
