Bengal Blue in Aylesbury Vale

Never felt so unwelcome. Restaurant was empty when we arrived and were asked uf we had booked, we said no and the waiter glanced round as if to see if therr was a spare table. Customer service was non existent. Waiter leant across my plate whilst I was still eating to remove an empty rice dish. Tried to remove half finished dishes before we had finished. Food was passable but whole experience left a lot to be desired.

Our go to Curry house for a family of 5. Consistently great good and service. Best in Aylesbury by a country mile

Ordered Mutter Paneer, the worst I ever had. Sweet as sugar and full of coconut with 6/7 small paneer cubes. I’m sure that’s not how it’s meant to be, ruined mine and my partner’s evening.

First time ordering off there website. Very prompt communication with delivery timings & delivered within time schedule. Food was fresh & exceptional! 5* If ordering onion bhaji or samosa’s please be advised there are 2 large pieces in a box! Will be ordering again! Thank you Bengal Blue

We went for an evening meal and were surprised how good the food was and how reasonable the prices were. We didn't have starters , my main course of chicken korma was superb together with a tasty peshwari nan and a very good vegetable curry. My wife had the chicken korai with rice. The service was very good and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely be back.

Went there last week with 3 other mates and the food was incredible and the service was fantastic couldn't rate this place highly enough.

Fantastic food as always, we have dined in twice and had a lovely meal both times. We normally have delivery though and the food is just as good, nice and fresh and delivered promptly.

Ordered in madras and pistachio korma with special fried rice,chapati,s and keema nan. Where do I start. My wife was looking forward to her pistachio korma which turned out to be an overly sweet normal korma, my madras was so salty unbearable and milder than the korma, the rice was just mush(possibly reheated)and the breads were boring. Is there not a curry house in Aylesbury that can provide quality and consistent authentic Currys because we haven't found one.🤬

Please don't call yourself an Indian restaurant if you can't even serve basic Indian dishes at least close to authentic. That's literally the bare minimum. It's 2023. Internet exists. Please tell your kitchen staff to maybe watch a video or two and learn to cook properly because they obviously can't. My stuffed paratha was just some bland taste less potato filling between two individual pieces of bread that were oily from outside and uncooked from inside. Butter chicken was oily with large chunks or boiled chicken.

The place is nice, the food was ok although I asked for chicken and prawn balti, they brought out just prawn when I asked they took away and brought back with most of the prawn’s missing and two small pieces of chicken so abit of a let down, the prawns where already cooked in the curry so don’t understand why you’d remove them it’s not like you can give them out again

My husband and I regularly order from here and are usually pleased with quality - nothing amazing but does the job. Today however, the Chicken Malaya was awful - the curry was smimming in water and the chicken was tough. It was as though I was chewing on leather. The prawn on puri was also tasteless. Overall a terrible experience tonight and the food quality left a lot to be desired.

After a show at the theatre, we were hoping this place was still open, having seen great reviews online! It was and we had the most amazing Chicken dishes! Both with very tender meat and great flavours. Lovely, welcoming people and great toilets, what an smazing place (wish we lived here!)

Tonight we had a fantastic take away from Bengal Blue after winning this month's face book competition.Its been many years since we have eaten there so was a little sceptical,But how wrong we were to worry. Lovely service from the 2 gentleman behind the counter,and the food was some of the best we have tasted . Lots of meat in the Bengal Special Biryani and a great veg curry.My husband (who is incredibly fussy and will only eat vindaloo and Bombay potatoes where ever we go ) said it was again one of the best curries he'd eaten.Tender pieces of lamb and just the right amount of spice . Great portion sizes, too much for me but happily finished off by the kids !! We will definitely be ordering from there again . Highly recommend

Night in and ordered a chicken jalfeezi and a chicken Malaya with garlic Nan. We have ordered from there before but now aware it is now under new management. Both dishes were sooo hot and unbearable to eat! The jalfrezi was so full of onion and chilli and with that aside I was left with 4 piece of chicken. The sauce was too hot to eat and my plate was left 3/4. Safe today once my mouth stopped burning I had to have beans on toast. So much for a nice night in with my husband.

Visited with friends and had a very onjoyable evening meal. My choices were Lamb Chop starter and Chicken Blue Bengal (House Special, with chicken tikka pieces in a fenugreek and spice sauce) and a side of Asparagus Bhajee, which was new to me, as my main course, with a keema naan. Staff friendly and helpful, service was good and the meal was excellent. All of us enjoyed our meals and we look forward to our next visit.

A Group of 18 of us were meeting in Aylesbury and Saheed the manager arranged a long table for us all to sit together. Very nice clean restaurant, fast ordering & the food was PERFECT! I was lucky enough to win the Bengal Blue Mothers Day competition. I was given the opportunity to dine in or have a takeaway, I chose the takeaway and it was fantastic. When I went to collect the meal the staff were so welcoming & friendly and also super prompt to bring me my winnings. The food was lovely and hot, generous portion sizes and very tasty. The best chicken tikka masala I’ve had in a long time. Will most definitely be our go to curry house from now on, well worth a visit! Thank you Sayad & Bengal Blue team :)

Have used this restaurant for years and it was always very good. Unfortunately the last time we were there the service was not good. Felt like the staff were doing us a favour by serving us. Had two takeaways recently and each time the order was wrong. When we phoned to let them know, they accused us of getting the order wrong, even though the receipt was correct. Food wasn't as good as it used to be unfortunately.

We came here as we were having a few drinks in the pubs in the local area.. service was great and met with a smile and quickly seated, the food that we ordered came out quick and nice and hot but it just didnt taste right i'm not sure if it was different spices used but didnt taste like my normal dishes. We were celebrating a 50th birthday with a few of us not knowing everyone involved. Food and service was good and prompt and all worked well until the end of the meal when we attempted to pay and were told it was cash only. What?! Most of us were relying on paying on a credit card and the restaurant claim to accept cards. Also we should have been told on entry that their 'card machine wasn't working'. It resulted in 2 of us paying for the meals of others which I was not pleased about. To add insult to injury, they had the gall to make a sarcastic remark about there not being the usual tip. I couldn't help myself but explained they should think themselves lucky they got paid at all, and what exactly are we tipping for anyway. Cannot stand this expectation that a tip is forthcoming for restaurant service, particularly when it was inadequate. We had offered to pay using one of the accepted methods of payment. We would have been within our rights to leave if they refused to accept it. But personally I'll save the embarrassment of this situation arising by gladly NOT returning

Bengal Blue is NOT an Indian restaurant. It serves food that is agreeable to the masses who have never eaten an Indian curry or dish. Pakistani and Bangladeshi food served here is effortless and generic overcooked meat, fish and vegetables with no flare, imagination, creation or signature. As long as people will accept and pay for gravy with hints of Pataks ready made sauces we in Aylesbury will NEVER actually eat anything vaguely authentic. But hey this place is full of arrogance and who gives a toss. These British low life's will eat anything we make up. Like the the vast majority of the dozens of 'Indian' restaurants they are a fraud and a front for something else? Enjoy!

Lovely food. Attentive staff. Good prices. Nice ambience. The mushroom rice particularly good. Close to our hotel and close to town if you want to go cinema theatre etc by foot afterwards.

We ordered a fairly large delivery for a family get together last night. The food was delivered on time by an extremely friendly chap. The food was hot, well packed, no messy leakages. I ordered a takeaway for 3 of us on Saturday (ordered by phone for collection). Took a few minutes to make the order as it was obviously busy in the restaurant but not an issue. I was advised that the food would be ready to collect in 25 mins.

I have only had takeaway on two occasions, ordering a different chicken curry each time but they tasted and looked very similar, one was a Dansak and the other a Madras, I would expect them to have a different texture and flavour but they didn't. Sadly I will look for a different place. Service for take out is good and the people are very friendly.

Myself with two more friends went to this restaurant last night and the level of service we received was pathetic considering these guys running business for quite some time now. We were given a table where one chair would not come out. Even though the restaurant was empty with only two more couples dining in, the staff looked reluctant to change table which they eventually did (I could not understand the fuss about it). I was not aware that this was just the beginning of a night full of awful experiences from them. After serving menu no one came to take our order for 15 minutes. There was a staff of atleast 5 people at front and no one acknowledged we sitting there, no eye contact what so ever so I stood up and went to the bar and ordered Kingfisher Beer on the tap for myself and two more drinks along with a starter to begin with. After 5 mins I had my beer which looked totally flat. When I quesstioned the bar that the beer needs changing as this is not how it should, be all of their staff came at front to suggest the beer was okay to drink and that if I wont I will still be charged for this beer even if the whole pint was untouched. And then they had this old guy(customer or delivery guy?) standing next to the bar who was in some sort of association with these guys and was having free pints whilst waiting for food, this gentleman suggested the pint is perfectly fine and that he had two of these. He even suggested to stir it with straw or put a pinch of salt.. I mean seriously you retard head! I checked the pint with the spoon and there was no gas at all. Anyway I offered pint to this same old guy who now would not have it!! LMAO. Finally I ended up having another bottle of Cobra which one of the staff left on my table without saying anything and without pouring it. I did not want to stay there at this point of time. So we waited for our starters. The food was dry, with lacking flavours and it looks as if it was just warmed up in microwave. This was a mixed grill and it lacked grilled onions and the aroma that this kind of order usually have. This level of service is ridiculous and I can never imagine this happening in the UK! These guys need to be trained for improving their customer services. I just came from my holidays in India and any small restaurants would serve you better then this Bengal Blue! Not recommended to do any future business with them. I am not coming back along with two of my friends who were utterly disappointed like myself. Bad Service, Bad Food, Bad Attitude from the staff for what? £3.95 pint!! ha !!

El menú que si no tienen un plato que se esforzarán por hacer. Pedí un Paneer Tikka masala (el queso en lugar de carne), lo cual es algo tiene mi lugar favorito en el menú, pero fue sin rodeos me dijeron que "no". Yo hubiera esperado que un restaurante indio habría real y que sería paneer ser ningún problema para usarlo, en vez de carne. Dicho esto, cada restaurante indio en Aylesbury que he utilizado hasta ahora ha 'uncultured británicos desdeñaron nosotros utilizando queso cheddar' en vez de paneer, así que sospecho que es por eso que no hacer la solicitud aquí? Pedimos un pollo tikka masala en lugar, junto con un número de otros platos. La comida llegó rápidamente, pero ojalá nunca había llegado después de la degustación. El curry todos sabían exactamente el mismo. En verdad, estaban desprovistos de cualquier real aromatizantes más que un anodino ajo/ligeramente chili nota. La carne sabía simple, como no había sido experimentados o marinado. La impresión de mis amigos y me dieron de comer es que tienen algún tipo de IVA con esta salsa curry genérico', junto con un montón de pollo y cordero cocinados sencillas, y cuando las órdenes vienen en que agregar dicho carne dijo salsa y simplemente mezcla en cualquier colorante alimentario es necesario para hacer que parezca el curry que ha sido ordenados! Cuatro diferentes no debería todo curries el mismo sabor, pero no de bengala de color azul.

Una buena comida, la comida era buena, pero el servicio era un poco lustre falta. No amable en todo, pudieron hacer contacto visual, o comunicar a todos. No atento, no preguntar si estábamos bien o la comida estaba bien o si queríamos algo o otras bebidas.

Just tried to order a take-away after ordering from this restaurant sometime ago as first experience wasn't great as they were asking for cash on delivery, told them I only could pay via card and was met with some opposition and made me feel awkward for paying by the most popular method, tonight's episode for me is the final time I will ever contact this restaurant as I placed my order via phone and asked them to confirm the price, when I queried the cost as it didn't seem right for the small order I was placing I got told "do you want it or not" this is the final straw for me, and no I didn't place an order and took my money else well.. you have been warned..

I have been to many indian restaurants in the area, and the thing that stands out here is how tasty the food is. Friendly service also. Highly recommend the Chicken Bengal Blue. Can't go wrong with any of the starters.

A busy Saturday night and a bustling restaurant with takeaways flying out the door. Wonderfully tasty food and even were able to cater for a vegan in our group.All thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the atmosphere and the hospitality.Top Indian restaurant in the area for my money - and I have been using it for years, ever since the current owners moved there from the Golden Bengal - which they previously owned.

Food took 2hours to arrive, prawns undercooked, tikka over cooked, order not complete. Ruined the night with visiting family members. The worst food I have had since I was a kid in the 1980's and I really am not kidding it is disgusting.

Made a last minute visit with a group of 8 and managed to find a table late on a Friday evening. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We made our orders and they even suggested that we had over ordered so we could remove a couple of dishes to save waste - nice that they didn't just take the order and the money! Only slight negative, the toilets could do with a deep clean and redec. Will definitely be making another visit to the Bengal Blue sometime soon. Thanks.

I and a group of 6 friends attended yesterday evening at around 6pm. The restaurant was empty. The staff said they could sit us but only if we were in and out in 90 minutes. The restaurant remained totally empty for the entire time we were there. One of my friend's was approached by a member of staff and told to 'be quiet' as they couldn't hear the phone ringing?? I don't know how they would cope if there were more than one table in use! This really killed the Christmas spirit. Food was mediocre and unfortunately over shadowed by the rudeness of the staff. Totally uninterested and unaccommodating. The restaurant itself looks run down and is untidy. Needs a lick of paint and modernising. Will not be returning. Some of my group were regulars and feel the same.

We visited as a couple on a Friday night. The food was very tasty (apart from the flat coke) and reasonably priced, but the surroundings a bit tatty. Maybe we were just unlucky but the seats at our table were stained as was the table cloth. The pappadoms were served in a dirty plastic tray and there was a ceiling spotlight shining right in my face.I'd go back for a casual meal as the food itself was nice, but not for a special occasion and I would not take guests due to the above mentioned issues.

The food was ok and was not swimming in oil . The speed of service was again ok, but it was not busy ( a Monday night) . The table cloth was lovely white and clean. Two things really put me off 1/ the waiter was the most sulky/ surly i have come across in a while and 2/ the wall next to our table had food/ grease marks - bit off putting. Even when we were paying the waiter did not even say thank you. Not great.

This establishment needs to make its mind-up as to whether it is a restaurant or a take-away. I booked a table for my wife and 2 friends last Saturday for 0830 pm. Arrived on time and were shown to our table. So far so good. We then sat there for 30 minutes whilst all the staff attended to a procession of people coming in for take-aways. After that a waiter, who was eating a mouth full of food asked if we wanted a drink. Drinks arrived and then after another wait whilst take-away customers were attended to we then ordered. In fairness the food was very good. But again service lacked. The plates for the first course were cleared for three of us whilst my wife was still eating ; leaving her eating on her own. I have given a rating of two because the food was good, but the service was abysmal.
