Absolutely delicious food. We come all the way from Kent for my husband’s haircut. We try something different each time - but will definitely be returning to this little jewel. Food was fresh and tasty and very reasonably priced.

Staff is very kind and polite. They greet customers as they enter. The food tastes just like pakistan. The paratha is crispy and the chickpeas are amazing. The kulcha is very soft and topped with sesame. Overall the atmosphere is very bright and gives a desi vibe.

Average place. The food wasn't actually that bad. The staff are not the sharpest tools in the shed and are bit slow with their service. I ordered a burger and fries and chicken popcorn and fries for my two daughters. First the burger came, 10 mins later the fries arrived. Then we waited ages for my other daughters order and her chicken popcorn turned up folllowed by her fries 10 mins later. My kebab roll although not too bad in taste was drenched in mayo and sauces with out asking me if I wanted the sauces in the first place. This time I probably will give them the benefit of the doubt and may try the place again because the food wasn't actually that bad.

Deplorable place to go to very bad experience. Did not even get what I ordered. Rude stuff. Do not want to attend to you. Just want you out of the place. I ordered garlic naan and they completely forgot about it and when I reminded them they gave me a normal naan. Then I asked if the food came with a salad they said yes but they didn't give me a salad if asked me if Iwanted it after finishing me meal! the food also came with a drink but they never gave it I asked for it right at the end and only then did they remember. don't waste your money don't waste your time here lots of other options to go to.

Typical Asian run business ordered the mini platter which came with a drink and salad but did not receive salad and when we asked them doesnt it come with salad out of curiosity this is after we had finished eating then the staff had the cheek to say do you want your salad no proper piss take. We also order a garlic naan which they forgot about and when we reminded them the brought out the wrong naan incompetent fools. Also I had to remind them about the drink which comes with the meal. AVOID visiting at all costs this restaurant is a shambles customer service is none existent bunch of clowns. Also £25 for a mini platter which should really be called tiny platter filled with rice.

We visited Chat n Grill for the second time and were quite disappointed with the food quality this time. We ordered Laddi Paiti, Nihari, and Chicken Biryani. Unfortunately, the Laddi Paiti was served cold, the Nihari was overly thick and lacked flavour, and the chicken in the Biryani was undercooked. The naan was thin and crunchy. This experience has left us deciding not to return. To the owners, we kindly urge you to maintain the high standards that initially drew us to your restaurant. I appreciate your acknowledgment of the issues I raised and your commitment to improving. However, I feel the need to clarify a few points. When I visit a restaurant, I expect consistent quality, especially when my first experience was good. While it’s true that I didn’t leave a review the first time, I came back because of that positive experience, and I was genuinely disappointed when the quality didn’t match up during my second visit. I did not address the situation with the staff on the spot because, as a paying customer, I expect the food to meet a standard without needing to point out shortcomings. I don’t understand people who have given bad reviews here. As these people can never go wrong when it comes to their food’s taste and freshness. I do agree sometimes it can get very busy but you have to understand that the space is limited so they have to entertain everyone.But leaving bad reviews here just due to some trivial issue can damage someone’s hard earned reputation in business. The owner and the staff is very nice and always welcome us. Once i forgot my bag and they have kept it safe for me. It feels like i am having ame k hath ka khana. I don’t live near but whenever i crave ghar ka khana i manage to go there. Please try to be kind towards people who are trying to serve you fresh and hygienic food! The food was really good. We ordered coke and Mango lassi. My daughter got coke after long when I told them and I got my mango lassi when I finished eating. The staff are standing in the kitchen talking. When I complained about lassi, the man said that it is better to drink lassi last. So bad service.

I ordered matka biryani, pilau and lamb chops for takeaway. The biryani was cold and the chicken was smelly, the taste was awful. Lamb chops were hard and full of sauce. Pilau was average and the service was too slow..

The food is always on point, homely and delicious. Forgot to even take pictures as it looked amazing and I was hungry. However, I had gajrela, and it was to die for. I never liked kheer or milk based dessert, but this was just another level. It does get a little crowded because the place is a little small for the crowd they are attracting, but overall, definitely recommend.

The person in mid 50s I believe is the owner who stands and take orders mostly is so rude so rude that rude is a small word He misbehaved with me and my sister knowing we are his daughters age Argued with us and treated us like nobody Would never ever recommend going here because if his attitude Worst experience

Chaat n Grill is a fantastic cosy Pakistani Lahori vibe restaurant located on the famous Ilford Lane in Ilford. We travel regularly from Southend-on-sea to buy take-away food & we always leave with at least two portions of paya. As you may have guessed we are big fans of the paya. Unfortunately they have reduced the portion size but for £11 it’s still a fabulous deal (tandoori naan included) & I have not found that destinct taste in any other restaurant. Oh & most importantly the paya leaves that unique stickiness to your fingers. Reminds me of the paya breakfasts we used to have in Lahore at 6am when on holidays! You also get a beautiful freshly baked tandoori naan. I have a therapy dog named Barfi & they have always been accomodating. I would recommend everyone to visit Chaat n Grill. You’ll soon be a regular customer like us - Enjoy! Dua, Barfi & Family

It is one of the best Desi foods in London. I normally do not give reviews, but this one truly deserved it. All menu items are the best of the best. Desi Murgh Paya Pure Lahori chana better than lahori chana.

Family run resturant Amazing and tasty food reminds me of ur childhood back home. Freshly cooked. You can see many big names arround but when you try chat and grill I am sure you will forget others if you like pakistani lahori food. I wish I could give more than stars. “Absolutely Horrible Experience - Never Coming Back!” I don’t even know where to begin with this disaster of a restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were met with complete indifference by the staff. No greeting, no smiles, just blank stares as if we were inconveniencing them by showing up. After waiting 20 minutes to be seated ,we had to practically beg someone to take our order even not at table. When we tried to explain the issues, they Absolutely disgraceful. The whole experience was a nightmare from start to finish. Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other restaurants that actually want your business and know how to treat their customers. This one isn’t worth your time or money. I hope that helps!

The customer service was terrible, with staff ignoring most patrons while favoring others. Employees loitered behind the counter, chatting and gazing outside instead of attending to customers. The dining area was filthy, with dirty tables throughout. The overall atmosphere was dreadful, largely due to the staff's unprofessional behavior and the unkempt surroundings. This level of negligence and poor service is utterly unacceptable, and I strongly not recommend this place.

Avoid.....The management seems to be lacking, as the staff appeared overwhelmed and unprofessional. The floors and tables were dirty, which is unacceptable for any dining. It’s clear that cleanliness is not a priority here. Save your time and money—there are plenty of better options nearby

Not Recommended. I visited this restaurant with Pakistani friends, but the experience was awful. Staff ignored our needs and requests, showing no care for customers. The terrible service wasn't limited to us - all diners seemed neglected. Given the poor treatment and lack of basic customer care, I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant, regardless of the cuisine or company.

First things first, i dont have words to explain how delicious the food was. Absolutely amazing. The whole experience was fantastic I drove all the way from andover to ilford after watching someones post on instagram. WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!! Now, after reading the reviews, one thing i would like to say to the wanna-be perfectionists here who had complaints about food and service and price, it takes years to develop and build a brand and its identity, and 5 minutes to write a demeaning review and ruin something which feeds the whole team in the restaurant. Keep up the great work CHAAT N GRILL Owners, management and the team.

If you are missing lahore this is the best place to go! We had their papri chaat, samosa chaat , laddoo petthi and bbq platter every single thing was delicious. Travelled 2 hours from camberley just to try their food and it was worth it!

I bought two portions of halwa puri. First i was told that the total cost of order is £11.00. I aksed sales person why, when it should be £7.00 plus whatever for extra puri and he told me it for for the whole deal which i had not asked for. Puri is fine two different portion channa had different taste, one of them tasted like cooked in paya left over curry, other one was just bland. Portion was ridiculoulsy small you could see the bottom of serving tray and count the number of peas. Then potato curry is tasteless. Halwa had poor taste, pickle was only in one tray and that also tasted off. I will not buy Halwa Puri from tuis shop again.

They charge restaurant prices but need to fix up the quality.

Waited long to get a lamb karahi and daa makhni but the taste of it was worth waiting every second. Loved the food and wish you all the best for your future 🥳

A great food place I go with my uncles on most fridays! The kulcha naan and piya is lovely to eat plus its a nice and cosy place to sit and eat in. Only downsides is parking and driving to this place as we all know ilford lane is crowded most of the time, but in the end, the food is worth it (additionally parking being free in the late afternoons/evenings around the area). Would continue going here again if any motives/events are arranged!

Loved it. After a long time an excellent nashta. Family run, everything had a very traditional lahori taste to it, and extremely homely. Nihari, chanay, halva, paratha, omelette, naan - highly recommend it. Not your Instagram fam type place, but the place you go if you want the quality of food with a family touch .

Family run, so food is passable as home made. Paya was disgusting. Saag was microwave warmed from the day before, not fresh. The chicken and rice was fresh and nice. Naan was also nice. We won't be going again. Staff seemed unable to take criticism.

Exceptionally good home cooked food. Run by the family and I can tell that they love cooking. I have been here 3 times in last 2 months and everytime t ordered different items (except for Desi Choocha & Laddu Peethi). If you want to taste real stuff, just visit. Try Saag Gosht, Desi Chooza, Laddu Peethi, Lahori Channay, and Tandoori Paratha.

I have been there previously, and it's been better. Today the keema naan was lacking keema, when you pay £4.50 for keema nan you want keema. Chana were poor, and worst was the so-called Matka Biryani, which had two pieces of dehydrated old chicken. The Biryani was a complete failure. Two not so karak chai top off a bad experience. One good point was the homemade coconut biscuits. I don't think I will make the effort to go here again. Never mind, hey...

The food is really delicious with rich in taste. I preferred this for dessi food.

First of all, the food is amazing. It is cooked by aunties, so you will get a home-cooked food taste. The annoying thing is that the service is appalling, and you would have to wait a long time to be served. If you want a drink or naan bread, the wait is 15 to 20 minutes. They should hire more waiters or servers. Saving money on these things could cost them customers. Based on my last visit to the restaurant, I would never go there again to eat in. It would be really good if they could improve the customer service.

Terrible service - definitely do not recommend. We were waiting for a table to be free, the waiter did not acknowledge our presence or approach us to welcome. There were three tables vacated and he took forever to clean them. He kept chatting away and not focusing on his work. Bad staff management. We travel alot and know what good looks like. If a restaurant staff misbehave and take this long to serve you, it's not worth it. First impressions are the last. We did not eat because we were not even seated having waited 15 minutes and the restaurant was not busy.

We had Desi chicken , aloo Paratha...wàtèry gravy and impoverished chicken pieces. If you understand indian and Pakistani food flavors you should never come here.

London's best Kadi Pakora ever! So damn delicious. The naans were freshly made and the blend of spices in Kadi were exceptional.
