Started coming here recently, have ordered twice in 3 weeks and each time they did not disappoint! Very tasty, fresh and friendly customer service! This is now our family's chosen local Chinese takeaway from now on when we cannot be bothered to cook Chinese at home!

place for years. Last time was disappointing but thought it was a one off. Had beef curry tonight and it was absolutely disgusting!!!! No trace of curry. It was pure salt/ msg. The worst Chinese ever!!! Don't think I will be going back again . My husband Tom always comes in for takeaway!!! He ordered 2 x beef curry and rice tonight about 6.00. don't tell me no one ordered it!!!! It was the worst Chinese I've ever had. Absolutely disgusting. Now you have the cheek to reply to complaint by saying no one ordered curry beef tonight!!!! I'm not surprised because what you served did not resemble beef curry in any way!!! If this is your customer service and response then you have lost our custom.

Friendly staff, tasty food and not pricey!

Best Chinese in the area - I’m allergic to eggs so usually have problems at a Chinese even when specifying no eggs (due to them not cleaning utensils) but have been going here for years and never had any issues. Recommend the Singapore fried noodles, salt and chilli chicken wings and five spice chicken. Delivery is usually late so safer to pick up in person.

y friends recommended me this place and they said it’s the best Chinese. I ordered hot and sour soup, sweet and sour shrimp and fried chicken with green pepper and hot black bean sauce. They told me the soup has shrimp and pork in it. I asked if they can make it without the pork. They said yes. When I brought home the food (because they don’t have tables), I noticed that there’s not even one shrimp in the soup. But it had some meat, which I suppose was the pork (which I specifically ASKED NOT TO PUT IN!!). The chicken with black bean sauce was really good, but the sweet and sour was a disappointment. I had lots of sweet and sour when I was living in Thailand and it was nothing like that. It wasn’t even red, as it’s supposed to be.

Terrible customer service and mid food. We called in and after we placed the order, when we asked if we get free spring rolls is included, the lady shouted no free food and cut the phone on us.

What’s the point of being a takeaway if you just keep people waiting at the front of your shop. Didn’t even bother to take any orders. Pathetic.

Best food shop I’ve eaten from Chinese was 10/10 everytime I’ve eaten there

Used to love Kim wah been coming here since I was a kid but the last two times I have eaten from there I have had food poison both times from the duck Won't be eaten there any more 😔😔

My family have been coming here for many years and it is my sisters go to when ordering a Chinese. This is the only place she will order from and when ever I am at hers and we have a Chinese it’s from here. It’s always lovely and the staff are great too. Highly recommend.

I waited 1.5hrs for my delivery. When I complained they just cancelled my order.

Best Chinese takeaway in the area. My husband and I’s go-to are the king prawn fried rice with curry sauce, salt and chilli crispy squid and the prawn chow mein. Hits the spot when you don’t feel like cooking.

It's my go to Chinese takeaway I've been ordering from here for a while now and it's really tasty good food the prices are fair and reasonable the people that work there are helpful however on occasion they have mixed up a few of my dishes but it's never been meat it's usually they may accidentally swap a noodle dish for a fried rice but it doesn't bother me as I enjoy both however to someone else I could see why it may be a slight problem. They're also updating their menu which is nice to see recently they have added Nasi goreng which is something I definitely recommend to order. Overall a great option if you live in the area.

Really tried liking this place.. but last 3 orders have been wrong.

2hr wait!!! Delivery person was very apologetic. Most of the food was good. The salt and pepper chicken was very dry and the barbecue sauce was congealed. Would only order from them again if desperate.

Ordered for the first time and delivery took over 90 mins when I was told it would be within 45 mins. This was a birthday meal which was ruined as the food arrived at 7:55pm on a school night and was barely warm, so had to be re-heated. I would've collected it if I'd known it would be so delayed. Food itself was authentic and portion sizes generous.

I’ve been coming to this shop for over 7 years and the service is amazing and the food is absolutely fantastic. The people who run the shop are extremely friendly and nice! My go to food shop.

Unfortunately I need to give at least one star to write the review. The worse customer service ever I experienced from a take away shop. The lady was so rude on the call that I decided to cancel the order. Not sure how other ppl manage to place an order with such an rude person. She needs customer service training others she will scare away all the customers.

The fact that they close at 23:30 on a Sunday night really helped! The food was good and hot, could have done with a tad bit more sauce in my meal, but overall, very good food 👌

A lovely Chinese Takeaway with a friendly owner and has some of the best beef in black bean sauce with green peppers that I have ever tried. Highly recommended if you are in the area and looking for a tasty meal.

Possibly the best Chinese I have ever had in years. Always fresh and tasty. Sometimes I have to wait up to an hour (although Kim does tell you wait times on the phone) but always worth the wait and just shows how popular this shop is. I visit here weekly

I hate writing negative reviews however I ordered takeaway and food didn’t arrive till almost 3 hours later. Estimated arrival was 1 hour and 20 mins. Everytime we called to chase as ask when food will arrive the phone kept ringing with no answer making it difficult to cancel the order as we didn’t know if this was still on the way or not! Will not be ordering again, sorry.

Best chinese ever! New to the area and trailed loads of reviews online and glad I listened to the reviews. Never disappointed and been ordering here every Fri for the past month now. Lady on desk so polite, honest and welcoming!

They do not take card payments only cash which can be inconvenient.

Amazing fresh food and great customer service. Had a quick chat with the lady at the counter and she was very helpful. Amazing food. Singapore chowmein and fried rice is out of this world. Amazing thing is they always remember your order from last time too. Great service and always friendly. Highly recommended and portion sizes are perfect!

I ordered a home delivery yesterday 18/10/18 at 6pm to be told my order will come to me by 6.45pm the latest. The driver rang at 6.45pm saying he was given the wrong address but will be with us in 5 minutes. I rang the driver but no answer so rang the restaurant to be told he will be with us in 2 to 3 minutes. He finally turned up at 7.10pm. I was so disappointed that the restaurant were not bothered about the delay, offering us nothing in return. It's such a shame as they were highly recommended but I now would not order from here again

Spent £36.40 on food that tasted like it came out of a cold buffet. Its not the 1st time we’ve had poor quality food but thought we’d give it another go. Chips tasted like they were fried yesturday Rice tasted brittle, dry and hard Soft noodles tasted cruchie and wet HOWEVER, saying all that...the Lady boss personally came over to apologise and refunded the entire amount. She cares for her customers and wants to do good

Staying across the Road at the Travelodge across the Road. Thought it would be a good idea. Had the Singapore Chow Mein. Very nice just enough spice nice flavour. Portion might have been abit small but may be because I was really enjoying it and wanted more. Highly recommend

I have been getting take-aways from Kim Wah for over 15 years, during that time I can genuinely say with my hand on my heart that the food has always been of extremely high quality (never once have I had a bad stomach after eating the food) and the service is extremely friendly and professional. Penny always greets her customer's with a smile AND they always give plenty of FREE premium drinks (including diet drinks lol) AND prawn crackers! I never go anywhere else, Mark.

Really bad experience for the first time. Asked for my singapore noodles to be spicy on order. after taking it home very very bland and no spice, then got told by staff Chinese food can not be spicy. Need I write anymore very disappointing

By far the best Chinese takeout in the area. Food is fantastic - authentic, and always piping hot - chilli beef and salt and pepper prawns are a firm favourite. At 5-6 quid a main its incredible value. They always generously throw in free cans of drinks and the kids are sent off with an armful of sweets! Highly recommend!

My personal, all-time favourite chinese take-out. Simple. Very friendly owner, always welcoming and as other users have said, throws in complimentary drinks and crackers on big orders. I personally recommend the singapore hofan and the special fried rice. Nothing else out there compares! 5 stars. No less. NEVER had food poisoning here and I've been going for years! Pity for the odd reviews.

Always my favourite growing up. Now live over and hour away, had it again today as I was in the area. As brilliant as I remember. STILL my favourite 20+ years on. No Chinese takeaway comes close. Portion of Chicken Chow Mein and Spare Ribs (plus other dishes).... Perfect!!!

Don't ever order a take away for delivery from this carry out, that is if you want to wait two and a half hrs and make 12 phone calls only to be told they have a new driver and he dosen't know the Essex area,this information we have since discoverd was a pack of lies, I am going to lodge a complaint to the governing local authority and to trading standards

Absolutely horrific. If I could have given no stars I would. Ordered and was told 45 mins delivery time after 1 hour and 15 mins rang every 10 minutes with the promise that my food was leaving at that very minute and it never arrived. Absolutely atrocious customer service and complete shambles! Have used Kim Wah for 20 years previously. This new outfit is absolutely awful. Will never use again

Been going here for nearly 20 years and food is always spot on. Shredded chilli beef is like no other Chinese I've tried and always the firm favourite when family order is made. Chucks in drinks on big orders and always gets the right amount of drinks for how many people are eating which always impressed us! Great owner, always friendly and asks after the family. Pleasure always.

I and other members of my family have been using Kim Wah for over 20 years with no problems. Food great and he knows everybody's names.

I've been going to this Chinese since I was young. Never once have I been sick, so no idea what the previous post is about. I'd say this is the best Chinese compared to others in the area it is the most expensive. But you get what you pay for. Saying that soft drinks and prawn crackers usually thrown in if you are ordering a decent amount of food. Great food, friendly owner. I recommend this place
