I’ve been a couple of times and have really enjoyed some great chaat

What a little gem! Another amazing dinner at Chaat Haus! First time it was a date night with my partner and tonight a catch up with friends. I insisted on Chaat Haus and promised them lovely food. And they were not disappointed! Beautiful dishes, fantastic flavours -the hot dishes are not just numbingly hot but bursting with flavour. Loved everything! The menu isn't too big, which means every dish is worth trying and coming back for. Ambiance and service very nice too. And must be said prices are very reasonable! I will be definitely back for more! Thank you and keep delivering this deliciousness.

Loads of vegetarian and vegan options! The manchurian tofu was delicious and I loved the beetroot & carrot halwa!

First visit today, recommended to us as a great place for vegan options. There is a whole separate vegan menu, so we were spoilt for choice! We got a main, rice and 3 side dishes to share between two of us. Food was amazing and the staff were really friendly, too. To top it off, we only spent about £36 for the two of us for all our food (we practically waddled out of the building), and two beers! Will definitely be visiting again to try more of the vegan items.

We visited during Veganuary and the selection of food and choice of flavour was ample. The service was great and the interior was lovely and quirky... The place is also nicely located in central area and next to a large parking. Had overall a lovely dinner and experience.

By far the single best restaurant in Bedford. Every single dish I've had so far on my 2 visits had been perfect. All the chaat dishes amazing, highly recommend the Kale and spinach, all the Korean chicken one. For the mains the prawn dish was 10/10. I would have like a little more heat but still spot on. I've a had a few others and they were also 10/10. All this matched with great service, a welcoming, friendly, helpful and accommodating team from start to finish. Look forward to the next visit. Real dilemma with this one. On the one hand, quite simply the best curry I have had in years. On the other hand, if I tell everyone, I might not get a table in future!! Popped in for a last minute meal between Christmas and New year. First time I’ve tried the Chaat Haus. What a revelation. Excellent service from all staff members, great atmosphere and superb chat and curry. Flavours were deep and long lasting on the palate. The food was plentiful without being too much and the naan was light and fluffy. Even the pappadum and pickles were freshly made and full of flavour. What can I say, highly recommended and I will be back.

First visit and we loved the atmosphere which hits you as you walk through the door. Great service and a great choice of southern Indian food. Family run and it will certainly be on our list of go to restaurants.

The food was of excellent quality. However, once we'd eaten the starters and mains, we were completely forgotten ( I think the staff just wanted to finish 🤣). I did mention it, and if I go again I will be monitoring the service to us. I would recommend the restaurant.

Went to chaathaus for the 2nd time and it was really good experience. The portions of the mains was bigger than I was expecting. The gunpowder chaat was unexpectedly good as well. Overall the portions were generous and good food and the 3 of us finished it !

The food is fab, the staff are amazing, the chaats offer mouthwatering flavours I’ve never experienced before, portion size is plentiful and both the price and surroundings are superb! We will definitely be coming back soon to this hidden gem!

Visited 28th September 2023, for a mid week date night. I like how the menu sets out dishes from mild to hot so tried the spicy chicken starter and a chicken curry main from the hot section. Both outstanding and imho better than dishoom. Reasonably priced and we will definitely be visiting again next week to sample other Chaat Haus delicacies.

Absolutely I recommend this place, every thing was amazing, the atmosphere of the restaurant and staffs' behaviour are great very friendly, the food was fantastic , we had a nice night at our stay in Bedford with this restaurant, oh and by the way as a drink I definitely suggest to have some mango lasse , yummy

A tiny restaurant with a cool atmosphere and great food. I've been there a few times and it's number one in Bedford for me at the moment. We order several different dishes every time and each one is great. Recently, the boss himself added something different to us to break the taste. I wholeheartedly recommend tofu, it is a different dimension of taste and does not taste like standard tofu at all. I recommend it wholeheartedly ❤️

We had take away crom Chaat Haus and so far is the best indian foid we had in Bedford. Had the Beef Khala Bhuna and fried okra . Will definitely try more soon

Beautiful food, different and delicious tastes and dishes, very friendly staff and a really charming place to eat. 1 hour away from us but well worth the trip. Highly recommend the Masala Korean Chicken starter and the Beef Khala Bhuna, both were incredible!

Me and my family visited Chaat House over the weekend to celebrate a birthday and the food matched the high spirits we were in. The food was amazing (definitely recommend the Manchurian Chicken) and our waiters Akbar and Shuma were very accommodating and patient with the family’s food allergies. The restaurant has a really authentic and traditional vibe to it and we will most definitely be coming again!

The food at chaat haus is wonderful and full of flavour. You can tell everything made is fresh, well worth the wait. The front of house were very professional and even recommended dishes to us such as the Manchuria chicken and samosa chat and honestly speaking the Manchurian chicken was the highlight of my night. It felt as if the spices was diffusing in my mouth. Thank you chaat haus and team, I am hoping to visit again, very soon!

Visited this place last Wednesday and can honestly say the food was top tier. The cauliflower 65 had so much flavour bursting in my mouth, it was perfectly balanced as a starter. For my main I had a garlic chilli chicken and it was the best curry I’ve ever had. The staff were really attentive and shuma explained and guided us through the menu. Overall, an excellent restaurant and great atmosphere. Give it a try!!!

Although we had an online booking they would not give us a table (even though the place was empty) and we had phoned numerous times and no answer. So after making our way there assuming an online booking would be enough we were sadly turned away with two hungry kids. Not impressed. Definitely not a family friendly place at all and basically if you don't fit the look, you don't get in!

Just got home from an amazing experience at Chaat Haus. To say it was amazing feels like an understatement. The restaurant itself is beautiful, amazing atmosphere and decor and a really warm and welcoming place to be. The staff were lovely, attentive and the service really good. Now the food. Holy s**t it was good. We had some Bombay potatoes, fried whitebait (forgive me for forgetting the proper name) from the Chaat menu and wow. The taste of these dishes was incredible. Forgot your standard Indian food available in so many other restaurants, this is a different class. For mains, we opted for Hyderabad lamb dalcha and seafood Kori. Again, absolutely beautiful sumptuous dishes. You know the food is good when you're gutted it's finished :) Will absolutely be visiting again and again and would recommend whole heartedly.

I dined here for the first time on a busy Friday evening. Delicious flavours, I could taste all the different spices in the dishes served, from the sauce pots for the poppadoms to the curry. A wide selection of dishes from all over India and a wide range of little plates/starters for those who prefer 'tapas' style dining/sharing. They have have a separate vegan menu in its own right as well, which is great. Excellent service, very attentive but not overbearing. The quality/price is also excellent value for money, inclusive of a drink.I Look forward to dining here again.

Chaatastic !!! This was our 4th visit and it did not disappoint ! This is a must visit restaurant if you like excellent Indian cuisine. My starter of Bombay firecracker chicken was so flavoursome and spicy it really hit the spot as did my Beef Khala Bhuna/jeera rice and naan. We also had several side dishes, again they were delicious. My mates equally loved their starters and mains. The staff and service was really good and it was nice to meet the chef. He seems very passionate about the food as we’re the staff. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable. Already looking forward to our next visit. I urge you to go and try this restaurant as we are lucky to have somewhere like this in Bedford !

As first time visitors we were greeted by a lovely well presented restaurant. The staff are very friendly ,offering advise on what to choose from a compact menu. The food was fast and fresh. Nothing was too much trouble for this team. Lovely eat.... lovely place... Will be going back.

This restaurant by far has the best decor in Bedfordshire. The service is great and they go above and beyond to please you. Now the food, you won't get this sort of menu in many restaurants. Curated with some excellent options and less clutter. I'd recommend the lamb fry, beef kala bhuna, king prawn moillee. Can't wait to visit again as I want to try a few other dishes!

First visit to this restaurant and what a fantastic experience!! The food was delicious - so tasty!! I saw a review in the Beds Life Magazine and it was so positive I figured we had to give it a try. Loved the decor but loved the food even more. I’m not the best with spice - but the dishes I had were aromatic with a little bit of heat. Staff were lovely too. We will be back!!

100 % outstanding visit again. I wasn't sure what to have this time. I asked the waitress what she'd recommend, coincidentally chef Miah was in the dining area. The waitress got his attention relayed my question. Miah asked "mild, hot or very hot" I said mild, his reply was "leave it with Miah". I couldn't find "leave it with me" or "Miah" on the menu but I must say, if you like a mixed meat and veg curry then just leave it with Miah INCREDIBLE!!

This has to be one of the best if not the best restaurant I have been to, the food is amazing, lots of Vegan options. Would highly recommend the Manchurian Tofu has so much flavour and depth to it. The overall experience was exceptional especially the staff they can't do enough for you, and the decor is really good compared to other restaurants, would highly recommend paying a visit.

I had high hopes for this place, especially after reading the many positive reviews on Google. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed; many of the dishes we ordered lacked flavour and basic seasoning. Most disappointing was the defensive and patronising reaction from the waitress when I provided my honest feedback (feedback which she specifically asked for!). Hopefully our experience was an anomaly and others enjoy their experience.

Food was lovely and different from other curry houses, starters was wonderful , Korean chicken was delicious and the pepper prawn puri was delightful, unfortunately didn't take a picture of our mains as I wanted to get stuck in 😋 , value for money for 4 people was good considering food prices going up, all in all will go there again

Lovely presentation, friendly staff, photogenic decor in a buzzy restaurant but sadly I found the food to be a little one dimensional and lacking the layers of spice that are the hallmark of truly excellent South Asian food.

Great atmosphere and wonderful food. The food here is nothing short of Michelin star. I have eaten at Madus and Brilliant in south west London and this food is so great. The flavour and balance of spices are so hard to describe. I like to thank the staff in making the evening wonderful. Only thing is I will not add anything to the menu and make it open for private function. Saying that We will be coming again and again to this place🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Absolutely lovely place! Was recommended to us via another friend and we were not disappointed! Beautiful little restaurant tucked away, easy parking close by, delicious food, generous portions, great value for money. We had the masala chai, very generous poppadoms and chutney, and the crispy very moreish okra fries for starters, the chicken & aubergine and the lamb curry for mains...and enough left over to take home! The service was good and the food was excellent. We had the chaat samosa and Manchunian tofu to start and vegan Bhuna and Tikka masala with rice as mains. I’d never had Manchunian tofu before and it was an absolutely lovely. We look foreword to coming back and trying more options from the menu.

What a delight. My Mother, Sister and I had a lovely evening here. The staff are so friendly, informative and respect your space. The food is delicious with a well thought through great menu for all vegan, pescatarians, vegetarians etc. The staff know and explain the dishes very well if needed. The place has a lovely ambiance. Fantastic food, great service, really well priced, the Chaat dishes are amazing, the lamb main I had was to die for. A side of okra fries I ordered were fantastic. Don't pass the opportunity to visit this place, you will not be disappointed, truly amazing. Also a first for me, tried the new King Cobra beer, double fermented, really tasty.

A very different Indian food experience. 4 of us shared 4 starters ( chaats ) and chose a mains each. All delicious and well cooked. I had a Sri Lanka mixed fish dish which was fresh and nicely balanced with its flavours. Jeera rice was good too!

We went on a Monday night and felt royally spoilt. Asked for a little guidance on the menu, and we were generously talked through the options. The host is serious about this menu and it shone through! We ordered a few different chaat starters to share, and we were blown away - beautiful, delicious dishes. Our highlights were the gunpowder chicken chaat, cauliflower 65 and the masala Korean chicken. Total treat and we'll definitely be back!

I would like to thank Chat Haus for their incredible service. We were 11 people and the way they offered individual attention deserve a six star out of five. We would give 4 star for the food (biriyani needs a bit more flavour, veg items were also a bit flat) but the service was so good that we had to consider 5 star in total. Thanks for accommodating us. Friendly warm welcome. The restaurant's decor is lovely and relaxing. We were asked about possible food allergies and offered vegetarian / vegan options. The dishes that we selected were full of flavour and matched the description on the menu. Overall, the friendly staff, the decor, quality and price of the food made it an excellent dining experience.

This Bengali Chicken was so authentic. Asked for Customization with more gravy and spicy. To be honest, it was far far better than expected. Hats off Chef. Going to visit again soon ❤

Fantastic choice and variety, great vegetarian options, wonderful service

This was our 2nd time visiting, 1st time was when it was a relatively new business. We thought it was excellent on the first visit but that could've been due to the fact that they were trying hard as a new business. I can only say that this 2nd visit was probably better than the first. I would recommend this place to anybody! Excellent and friendly team on the shop floor and amazing food. Thank you Chaat Haus. Not your typical Indian restaurant, a London quality dining experience right in the heart of Bedford. The setting and food was beautifully presented and the staff were friendly and professional. The vegetarian and vegan menu was plenty enough for many visits to come!
