My wife and I found out about Cha Ology through our son who had visited previously. Established in Manchester for more than 8 years, Cha-Ology closes the world off around you and hugs you into a womb of peace and serenity through the taste and contemplation of various Japanese teas and sweets. For our visit, we chose a summer teas menu with a number of unique tasting experiences ranging from a tea brewed with a circular block of ice through to a roasted hazelnut tea as a warming drink. To accompany the teas, we also had some red bean paste desserts, tofu in jelly and delicious green tea and milk chocolate. Although on the expensive side, the experience is very immersive, transports you to a corner of Japan for a few hours and benefits from very knowledgeable and welcoming hosts. Highly recommended!

I came here with my husband for his birthday and we were both blown away by the whole experience! The atmosphere was serene from the moment we entered and as we settled in at the tea bar we very quickly forgot that we were in the middle of the city. The room has clearly been put together with extreme care - the warm wood overtones and the sunlight coming through the sheer curtains created a minimal yet cosy environment that put us at ease. The hosts were outstanding! They worked seamlessly together preparing the drinks and sweets, every action they took was deliberate and with a precision that was mesmerising. We went to the casual tea time and were glad to have their thorough explanations of the teas, the ingredients, extraction processes and the vendors that they work with. The hosts are clearly very passionate and we were easily absorbed in their quiet enthusiasm. Last but certainly not least - the teas themselves were a sensory delight, unlike any teas that we've experienced before, and the accompanying sweets were delicate and well-balanced in flavour. The combination of sweet and umami in some of the drinks and the foods was truly wonderful. The depth of flavour in the tea was shocking, and we were pleasantly surprised at the subtle sweetness of the white and red bean paste used in the wagashi. There is no doubt that we will be returning, we've already been raving about our experience to friends and family. If anyone is on the fence about visiting, I 100% advise to go. You are guaranteed a fantastic time.

I've been a customer here for several years now, and have never been dissapointed with the excellent tea, the service - and the unmatched relaxing vibe. The tea selection is broad enough to cover a range of budgets and tastes but not too much that you are swamped with choice. They are discreetly explained to you incase you are new to tea and

We chose the two teas and sweets. This was our first time. It felt a bit odd at first not being able to chat with my friend but we soon got used to it. The teas were lovely and sweets were delicious. We both enjoyed trying something new. We defiantly felt calm and relaxed by the time we left. It was also really interesting to find out about the teas and even the bowls we chose had a story. The staff were lovely and the rules were very easy to follow and ensured we had the best experience. I will go again.

Please pay attention! They have HALAL signs but they sell food with pork. The stuff don't recognise that Taiwan belongs to China and I don't want to eat ‘food’made by people who have serious political problems anymore
