Ceviche Soho in City of London, Westminster

This is literally my partner and I's favourite restaurant in Central London. Fantastic food, service and vibe, and like nowhere else we've been. Just seen it's closing though? Devastated. :(

Loud, bad quality of food and they don’t even care about managing the restaurant in a good way nor improving. No responses to people messages and critics, they simply don’t care about it. The price for the Peruvian corn was so high and the pisco taste was not pisco but felt more like aguardiente. I am sure instead of answering they just dedicate themselves to remove comments. Very arrogant - this is not a real Peruvian place, don’t fall into this tourist trap - Peruvian food and drinks are better.

Food was alright, but too expensive for what it was. Predinner drinks where good. The wine was alright, but the first glass was off. Place was cute, but pretty loud

Food is not bad, but not outstanding. The fried chicken was nice. This place is good for gluten-free diets! Service was excellent. Prices are reasonable.

Enjoyed the food and nice cocktails - just very expensive for the amount you get. It is in Soho though so this was not unexpected. Staff were really friendly and drinks were really quickly delivered.

Disappointed by food quality for price point. Sea bass and steak were good but ceviche was not good - fish tasted chewy and too much acid used with not enough counterbalance. The drink was good but multiple glasses of wine were off. Good selection of celiac friendly options

Been coming here for a while. A very good Peruvian restaurant in London. Very good ceviche and the price is not bad specially for the quality and presentation of the food.

Delicious food, good service and fun concept of getting plates to share. I loved it !

Totally excellent lunch. Lovely welcome, great service, and the food was incredible. Fresh, gorgeous to look at as well as being delicious. Most of menu is GF, which was great for us. Wine was well described, and we were very happy with all our choices. Also cocktails went down very well. I appreciated that it was explained to us that the W/C was down some fairly steep stairs right at the start, so that if any of our party could not have managed them, as least we would have known before we sat down. Will definitely be back.

Charming place with good food and friendly staff.

A few years ago, the restaurant let us shelter from heavy rain even though we were going to eat in another establishment nearby - 2 years on, and they still remember, lol. So we went back on this visit to London twice, the first night as a couple just for drinks and the next night as a family for a bar meal. The drinks are always good and very moreish and the food was excellent, even though we just had a selection of bar snacks. With the family, we had a fussy 10-year-old with us and even though it was a busy Friday night we sat at the bar (in the corner) the manager and staff fussed over him. A BIG thank-you - a sense of humour goes a long way, and we have the same style of "haircut"

Amazing food and the drinks are to die for!

Enjoyed the food, I had a couple of starters, the pork rolls and the chicken and specially the latter was delicious and different. I also felt the portion sizes were good. However, my mocktail was a joke. @£6.50 for the smallest glass I've ever seen with mostly froth and barely any drink. I regret not complaining about it as it was ridiculous. Other than that, lovely food.

I recently came here with my friend one Saturday evening. A warm welcome was given and we was shown to our table. The restaurant had lovely decor and was unique. I asked for a recommendation for a cocktail from the waiter and this was lovely. The menu was full of choices. I cannot eat gluten but the waitress advised me on an item that they couldn't guarantee had gluten in so I asked for this not to be added. The food was amazing and we both throughly enjoyed it. The staff were great and I will definitely come back.

Went there in a group and we ordered the set menu. Some really cool twists and surprises for me and my tastebuds. I do recommend this place highly.

I must say I'm not a fan of fish, specially not raw fish. I must also say I liked the ceviche here, and will probably come back for more. Everything was delicious and super fresh, and the lady serving us was very nice and gave us some great advice for choosing our food and drinks.

I had a lunch here with a friend last Friday and it was a lovely time. Food quality is very good with pulled pork roll being the highlight. We had pisco sour, one raspberry and one passion fruit flavour, both was nice. Service was great. Ambience wise, the room can be a little bit brighter and if something can be done to stop cigarette smell getting inside the room, it would have been perfect. Overall I’d recommend.

Good place for ceviche, not the best you can find in London obviously but acceptable. The menu requires some engineering for sure.

Great meal and environment as always but a shame they have changed some of the dishes recently. Especially the prawn and corn tamal - used to be a lot better!

Have been going since 2016. Lovely atmosphere and the house recipe fo Cubano cocktail with pisco, dark rum, plum sakai, and fresh lime juice is to die for. Amazing fried squid, pork rolls, and ceviche. Would love to try tamales next time!

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the recent dining experience at your restaurant on 15th august 2023. The quality of both the food and service was well below expectations. The real issue, however, was the quality of the food and the disinterested manager.!The dishes we received were bland, poorly cooked, and far from the standard we anticipated based on previous experience and your reputation. Regrettably, we decided to cancel our remaining order due to the dissatisfaction with the food. Shockingly, your manager that night refused our request , leaving us no choice but to pay for a the whole meal which we didn’t want.. I urge you to seriously address these concerns and improve the quality of both your food and customer service.

Three of us was a walked in guest at your restaurant last Monday dinner time. We have been at your restaurant once before and we had a great experience that time. But last Monday we have a different experience. The foods that we order is below our expectation. Beef heart is so bland, the ceviche just taste of lime juice, the fried squid is more to the soggy side. Because of this we cancel some other dishes that we order as we didn’t have appetite anymore. We put our concern to the manager who in charge at that night but he seems not interested with our concern and refused to cancel the remaining of the orders. We have to pay the whole things. We do understand that we will pay all the food that we eat but for the remaining orders and as we were not happy with the service, it should be taking off from our bill. I think this is a very poor customer service and would damage your reputation if it’s carry on like this.

Very good plates in an enjoyable setting. Try the donut, it was absolutely incredible.

Atmosphere only deducted a star due to there being a bunch of loud lads there. Food was nice but definitely expensive for the portions we got. Had to make a stop at McDonald's after to fill us up. The fake fries weren't nice

Nice, a good place for drinks and nibbles. Ceviche is worth trying. Pretty reasonable. Not particularly memorable though. Staff were nice.

A chic and modern steakhouse with a focus on premium cuts of meat. The tender and flavorful steaks were cooked to perfection, and the extensive wine list offered excellent pairings. The elegant ambiance and top-notch service made it a standout dining experience.

Everything was very good, the staff did their best to be as quick as possible on a busy night, with always a big smile. Just to let you know, they don't accept Scottish notes, so make sure you have either English notes or a credit card.

Booked Ceviche on the recommendation of 2 friends. Service was perfect - from how they dealt with a broken glass (sorry!) to how they dealt with my friend querying the difference between the sizes of cocktail - always with warmth and good humour. Food was wonderful, and service was relaxed and attentive. A restaurant to add to my regular rotation!

Very disappointed, a far cry from Peruvian food. The Peruvian ceviche was very acidic: a combination of lime juice and ginger that cannot be called “leche de Tigre”. The so called rocoto sauce tasted like bbq sauce and the picarones were undercooked and very acidic.

Booked with wife based on excellent reviews and keen to try this place and food. Service very friendly even if waitress had to admit she hadn't tried a lot of the dishes herself so couldn't really give personal recommendation (I think restaurants should always get waiting staff to try the dishes. Makes for more personal experience) Drinks (pisco sours) excellent. Food (the tasting set offer at £35 a head was nice. But not amazing. Rather starchy bases, ceviche more sour than I really enjoy and leaving quite acidic aftertaste. Beetroot excellent. And the chicken tasty too... All in all worth having tried. Not cheap either (£120 for 2) But would not necessarily come back for more...

Ceviche was recommended by a friend years ago and I haven’t looked back! If I’m ever wanting something fun and delicious in soho, ceviche is my go to every time. The set menu is great, it takes the stress out of ordering lots of sharing plates if you’re in a group. The regular menu is great too though and make sure you don’t leave without a Pisco sour!

Der Laden selbst ist wie in London typisch schmal, eng und lässt ein wenig an Charme vermissen. Dafür ist das Essen umso besser. Schneller Service, das ceviche frisch und jedes ceviche unterschiedlich im Geschmack ohne den Fisch dabei geschmacklich platt zumachen.

Not the first time here. That's because it's so gorgeous. Super fresh. Super tasty experience.

The dining room was large and cool, ordered chicken pachamanca and the tiradito. The portions are small. We would have loved to see more side dishes and passion fruit juice on the menu. This was our lunch and it's kind of between a lunch and tapas place. It was tasty but if I were to order here again it would be a variety of things and to go. Having eaten at many Peruvian restaurants in the US and Peru, based on the decor, I expected to see ways to really get full without breaking the bank. Garlic jasmine rice, beans, avocado salad, could have turned this into more of a full meal. The flavor and presentation were nice.

Our waiter did not even mention the tasting menu, oild not answer my question about the size difference between a regular and a large pisco sour and generally seemed bemused when I tried to engage him in any form of conversation about the food. And then there was the food. The starter and ceviche came worryingly quickly. The beef heart kebab was tasty if a bit cold. The fish, although swimming in the ceviche marinade, did not feel marinated and was limp. Also surprising that a place calling itself ceviche only has three fish as ceviche. The main was fine. It was hardly octopus with chorizo. It was ctopus with potatoes with a couple of chorizo lardons. Fine but nothing to rave about. Needless to say, left underwhelmed and not planning on being back.

Très bon restaurant péruvien. Supers ceviches. Concept intéressant de petites portions. Il faut réserver car très souvent plein. Les piscos sont tops.

Informal restaurant with a lively atmosphere. The Peruvian menu is brilliant- their ceviches are particularly good. Crispy calamari too. The Peruvian cocktails are strong and sour - just how I like them ! Service was friendly but could have been more timely- but they were busy.

Ceviche Soho is an outstanding restaurant that provides exceptional Peruvian cuisine with a touch of modern flair. My wife and I visited this restaurant back in March, and we had an incredible experience. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Firstly, the food was exceptional. We ordered the Peruvian ceviche, and it tasted extremely fresh. The fish was marinated in citrus juice, mixed with onion and coriander, and served with sweet potato and corn. It was a perfect blend of flavors and textures, and the presentation was beautiful. The portion size was perfect, and it was a great starter for our meal. My wife ordered the Lomo Saltado, which was a traditional Peruvian dish with beef, onions, tomatoes, and French fries. The flavors were bold and delicious, and the beef was cooked to perfection. We also ordered a side of Peruvian-style fried rice, which was a great complement to our main dishes. Overall, the food was outstanding, and we would definitely come back to try more of their dishes. Secondly, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter was particularly helpful and made some great recommendations. We were impressed by how quickly our food was served, and the staff checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. However, we did notice a slight issue with the bathroom. One of them had a horrible smell, and unfortunately, we were seated near the stairs leading to the bathrooms. This was a bit unpleasant, but it did not detract too much from our overall experience. Lastly, the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. The decor was stylish and modern, and the lighting was perfect for a romantic dinner. The music was lively and upbeat, and it added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. We appreciated the attention to detail, and we felt very comfortable throughout our meal. First went here several years ago and it was great, so we decided to go back. This time though, we left very disappointed. The prices on the website are wrong (e.g Lomo advertised as £17.50, it’s actually £20). The food was out in 5 minutes, and wasn’t especially hot. The portions were much smaller, only a few chunks of meat, which for the price (especially when it’s significantly more than advertised online) is disappointing. The atmosphere was odd, no music and didn’t feel like we were welcome to stay very long. Overall, this isn’t the first central London restaurant we’ve returned to and had this sort of experience. Sadly it seems like cost-cutting measures are having a big impact. Hopefully one day Ceviche will be back to its old self.

Chance find initially Absolutely fantastic food, staff and ambiance. Been a few times with my friend, and we’re both chefs. Love this place.

We have been to Ceviche in Soho many times over the years. We met Martin Morales. It was never cheap here, but the food was always great. Not now though. The standard of service remains high, and the beetroot causa was perfect in taste and presentation, but the lomo saltado was a huge letdown. At £20.50 a serving (+12.5%) I don’t expect four very small already cut chunks of meat hidden beneath a mountain of overcooked chips, but that’s what we got. Honestly, guys. We remember when this was a wonderful dish. Now it is an embarrassing attempt at economising. We were the only cover when the order was placed, so no way this was a mistake. It was intentional. The chicken pachamanca was dry and overcooked and even the chicha morada was awful, obviously now made cheaply with some sort of sickly sweet syrup as a base. Think ribena, but worse. Lastly, please update your website. The prices are wrong.

My partner and I stepped off Frith St into the narrow front of house bar last night, hoping to eat in the inviting-looking dining room at the back. We indicated to the uninterested barman that we would like a table and he signalled to us to wait. We waited. We waited nearly 10 minutes, indicating on 2 more occasions that we were still waiting. Eventually we left without even having been greeted. If this is the standard of service on arrival, I dread to think what it's like in the restaurant. Hard to think of anything more basic for a restaurant to get right than saying hello to customers when they walk in.

I have eaten in Ceviche many times in the past and enjoyed it thoroughly but this time I was disappointed by how poor the pisco sours were. Hardly any alcohol, too small, too much egg whites and very expensive. Plates were ok but nothing like the old days. What a shame.

I ordered the octopus thinking it was a main dish - which the waiter suggested it was. Very small portion! At the least I would have ordered something else if the waiter had advised. Chorizo/beans were gorgeous, octopus was plain. Was also too hot inside the restaurant and the toilets stink.

Been in here twice recently with a chef friend of mine, and we both love this venue. The food, the service, the ambiance and the way the staff look after you.. All impeccable I think we’ve found a little gem here Thanks to all the wonderful staff and keep it going guys xx

If you’re reading this, please just go to Senor Ceviche instead! For more atmosphere, much friendlier waiters and better food. The poor service really let this place down - such a shame because the food is pretty good

I had a lovely experience dining here. The staff were friendly, the food was so delicious, and they were amazing at catering to some tricky food intolerances and even adapted the menu so we could try stuff we wouldn’t have been able to eat otherwise....

Man oh man! The food was awesome so many awesome flavors so little time. Recommend getting reservations for a table but you can eat at the bar. I loved watching the ceviche being created right behind the bar. The Corn and Tamales was very interesting. The corn kernels are HUGE. The food was so good I missed getting a picture... Sorry

Great food with authentic flavours

Fantastic small-plates dining. Sat at the bar and had a great chat with the bartender. The cocktails were well-balanced and well-made. Gives a modern cuisine feel as well as it serves as a SoHo bar. Would recommend. Happy to go again. Prices reasonable for the area, but if you're not used to London, check the menu beforehand.

The food service is extremely fast. I booked this restaurant for my husbands birthday and we were in and out of there in under an hour not really what I want in a birthday celebration. Food was brought out before we could even blink. All dishes were delicious however their main dishes were packed full of chips and very little meat

Bought a voucher for Ceviche as a present for family member just before Covid hit, which then expired during lockdown. Called to ask if they could extend the expiry date and was declined as the place is under new management - no effort to try and offer some replacement. 50 quid lost.

Amazing food and vibe to the restaurant. The grilled octopus, the beef heart and don ceviche are absolute must haves.

We visit this place two evenings, because of amazing server Venere, she is lovely and friendly. Also you we had amazing prosecco here. We highly recomend this place!

Tried the set menu. Will definitely be coming back. Staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was more than excelent. The Ceviche still appears in my dreams, thats how good it was.

Once again, an amazing experience including some great dishes like Peruan chiviche, roasted pork belly, tuna, salmon .. We will be back!

Delicious food and attentive staff plus great pisco sours

Well worth a trip in Soho for a quiet cocktail and some lovely Peruvian food. Xavier and venere were perfect hosts. Made us feel very welcome. My wife is Peruvian and enjoyed the authentic taste and experience. Definitely give it a try!

Top service and atmosphere ! my friend and I ordered the Peruvian ceviche, ox heart skewers and Lomo saltado. To be honest the only good dish from these 3 was the anticuchos. The ceviche and the lomo saltado was below average. I am not sure about the other dishes in the menu. Been here a few years ago and the Lomo saltado was so much better. Also the pisco sour not great (very watery). This place is amazing don't lower your standards :)

One of my favourite affordable restaurants to go to on a casual night out. A good selection of food options - love the ceviche - especially the salmon one and the artichoke causa! The corn cake is a must try if you’ve never had it before. For dessert, I recommend the Dulce de Leche! Nice staff and cozy ambience. 4 and not 5 stars because it’s great but needs a little more to reach that WOW effect

Loved it. Every dish was different and delicious, and I could have ordered them all again that night if I had room to eat more. Highlights were the pork wraps and all of the ceviches.

Stellar service from the lady who seated us (probably the manager), and who was working really hard on a busy weekend 🏆 We got the chicken to try something out of the usual, and when it came realised we wanted a bit more kick so got a little pot of the chilli sauce that comes with other dishes, really nice flavours. Beef heart skewers (pictured) were delicious, and served with a soft white corn (I was expecting crunchy, but was soft more like sweetcorn).
