Popped in for coffee and a fruit scone. When I queried paying over £4 (£4.20 I recall) for a fruit scone and one portion of butter I was told the price includes cream and jam whether you want them or not. Extortionate. Be very careful what you order.

I would definitely suggest cleaning out your ice machine. Very put off, this has never happened to me anywhere before?! We won't be returning!

Stopping off at Morpath, we headed to the free car park beside the bus station. This operates on a disk system & I had to go to Martins in the bus station to get one which cost £1 = realistic parking fees in Morpeth.. Looking for breakfast we headed towards this coffee shop, situated in the Sanderson shopping centre. Nice modern decor and very smart but there was little atmosphere. Barista not particularly chatty and a limited range of breakfast items. We settled for roll & sausage each with drinks. Food was OK but nothing special which was the same as I would describe the coffee. Nice little place, not very chatty staff and whilst I would go back, I would prefer trying somewhere else. Main fare was cakes, croissants and filled panini- all pre packed .

Another coffee shop trying to be American and it doesn’t work. Coffee was lousy and weak, even though I asked for an extra shot. The guy serving was less than effective and the attitude was caffeine inept at best. You have to wait at the end of the counter for your order when there’s no reason for the staff to bring it to the table. Starbucks wannabe but the coffee is worse and that’s saying something given how bad the coffee is at Starbucks!! Won’t be going back!!

Lovely little coffee shop, the only downside is that even though the ‘outside’ is still enclosed within the Sanderson arcade, there is the usual crowd tolerated to sit for hours chain smoking and nursing a cup of coffee. Pity, as it excludes what would otherwise be a nice place to sit and have a snack and drink especially because it’s a pet friendly area.

We have visited on the regular basis, but have become frustrated by the lack of options, particularly for vegetarians, where there is only one available option. In the past, if the person serving is helpful, they have sometimes gone out of their way to accommodate for example making a cheese sandwich, but this willingness to accommodate can be a bit hit and miss. We obviously prefer to support the smaller chains rather than the big nationals, but the fact of the matter is that Costa, about a two minute walk away, offered far more vegetarian choice. I'm sure the 30 pounds we spent would not be missed, but, as regular visitors to Morpeth and very often to Central Bean, the lack of choice unless you want to eat meat/fish, will likely put off parties who want something other than a single vegetarian choice.

Lack of supervision resulted in a grainy expresso and a very cool latte. The place was not busy but the tables had not been cleared and the staff were busy chatting together,The stands around the table were grimy and behind the serving counter was worse with coffee sills and discarded containers. What a difference from the Newcastle outlet of this chain - even on match days there is snappy service and piping hot drinks, The manager needs to step up and provide some service.

Having spent a lot of my time frequenting coffee shops since I retired I consider myself to be a bit of an authority on the workings of these establishments.I have to say that having visited this one several times ( mainly because I like the coffee) it is unsurpassed in its ineptitude regarding service. To say they are slow is a massive understatement.Even when it isn’t particularly busy, it is still at least a five minute wait once you have ordered. You can normally expect a good ten minute wait and it is not unusual to then get the wrong coffee.Needless to say I have paid my last visit.

I called in early one morning shortly after opening and ordered a soya pumpkin spice latte. There was no queue so I was served quickly and the barista was perfectly pleasant. However, the latte tasted of nothing (not even coffee!) - just very strongly milky. Given that I'd ordered a soya latte and double-checked on collection this isn't impressive. Fortunately I wasn't too ill but some people would be.The only other time I've visited I struggled to open the very stiff, heavy door and ended up spilling most of my coffee between the door and the table. Outside tables are so tightly packed you can barely manoeuvre when the tables are all occupied (and I'm pretty small). There are so many coffee shops in Morpeth, I won't go back. Healthy Prep Kitchen or even Costa are so much better for the same price or cheaper.

We called in here after passing it many times before. I ordered a latte and a bacon sandwich and took a seat outside. The latte was decent enough and I was happy enough until my bacon 'sandwich' arrived...Firstly, it came as a panini, that's not a sandwich really. The panini it came in was soggy on the inside from the steam of the bacon and the bacon (what there was of it, a half slice in each half panini) was mostly fat and not cooked long enough, it was rubbery and slimy.I took one bite and left it. First time there, and probably the last, unless the management want to try and fix the problem.

I have been to this cafe many times it has the perfect location in the middle of Morpeth, if you stay outside it is disabled friendly. Not good inside too much furniture. The problem is the same every time. Slow service, you wait for ages in one queue to order, them move to another queue to collect. I know it must be a gold mine due to its location, but they would have happier customers is they took a lesson from Costa! That said the coffee is always top quality.

A great coffee served in the centre of Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade. All the usual hot drinks are available made by friendly ‘baristas”. Outside seating is provided if you’r lucky to get a seat, although seating inside is a bit tight in places, especially the widow benches. I stopped into Morpeth for a bit of shopping and wanted to grab a quick coffee before I left. Morpeth has a large choice of independent coffee shops, but as I was walking through the Arcade, I stumbled upon Central Bean. It looked busy, so I thought I'd give it a go. I placed my order of a large Americano, a croissant and hot sandwich. I paid for the items and was given a table number. I assumed this would mean the items would be brought to the table. 2 mins later the croissant arrived, the server disappeared. 5 mins passed, still no coffee. 10 mins pass still no coffee. To my surprise, you have to wait at the end of the counter. I went to the end of the counter where my coffee was finally poured. The coffee was actually quite decent, the croissant was a croissant but the sandwich was really poor not only that it lacked in taste, but the price for this sub standard product (see picture). The positives were that the coffee was decent and the staff were friendly, however they were heavily outweighed by the negatives. The poor sub-standard quality of the sandwich; the lack of information about how to collect your coffee; the lengthy wait for the coffee after being given the croissant (which I would have liked with the coffee) and the cheap and dirty looking furniture of where I had to sit.I looked for Wi-Fi but the network was password protected. There was no information provided about the password. I had access to free WiFi anyhow but it would be a good idea if this was advertised better and the password given. For a coffee shop in prime town centre location, it was a very big let down. An independent serving up such poor quality food would close in months. All in all, a disappointing experience which makes returning highly improbable.

Cappuccino's are fine, espresso strong bitter acrid, nice venue with lots of natural light, have dumbed down cake range which are un-Italian unappealing glutinous gunk - so voted by my feet & now go elsewhere!

Stopped off at Central Bean, Morpeth for a rest from shopping. What a find, located just at the end of the beautiful shopping arcade, sat in one of the comfy seats at the back of the shop. Nice clientele and a really pleasant atmosphere with ambient music in the background, not too loud. Choice of daily papers to read while having a coffee.I have seen a few negative comments regarding the price and selection of cakes, granted people are entitled to their opinion and that is what Trip Advisor is all about but I would take some of these comments with a pinch of salt. I am a picky person when it comes to eating and drinking out, if I do not like something I would say but I would have to say that Central Bean, Morpeth served me today with probably the best cake I have had in years.Yes ok the choice of cake is small, from what I recollect there were 8 or 10 to choose from but I offer you this, would you rather have a selection of 20 average cakes to choose from or a selection of 8 amazing cakes to choose from, well I am the latter.I choose the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Date cake, this has to be one of the nicest cakes I have ever tasted, the topping was gorgeous and the cake itself was so moist and full of flavour, I WAS HAVING A MOMENT on that first bite. Accompanying this was a regular Americano The coffee itself was was a lovely flavour, not too strong but nice enough that you tasted plenty of the bean, also in a decent sized cup for regular. I paid the King's ransom of £4.75 for this, now is that expensive for what I received? Not a chance. On a final note I need to make a comment on the staff, the service was lovely, not the fake 'Starbucks/Costa' robotic grin but actually a genuine person serving you coffee, amazing these days but it does exist. Also the cleanliness it great for such a busy place. I have sat in Starbucks in the Metrocentre, in the comfy leather seats, having a coffee and for the full time I have been there not one member of staff have cleaned the tables, this happens on almost every visit, the place is a tip. Here in Central Bean, there were a family who had just left there seats and their rubbish on the table and I thought to myself "hmm I wonder how long it will take to clean" sad I know but once you have finished reading the sports section you start to people watch, honestly this is no lie, once the family had left the table and I had finished looking at the time on my watch there was a member of staff clearing the table and sweeping the floor. Man, he was like a NINJA, swooping in to clear the table, it was honestly within 15 seconds.Right enough digression, lovely atmosphere, great coffee, AMAZING cake, good prices and Ninja like staff, what is there not too like about Central Bean, Morpeth. Great place, great coffee enough said.

I'm a big fan of Central Bean, they are a small north east chain, but their coffee is usually very good, although the cake selection can be a bit antiseptic the savoury selection is generally very good as well. Our visit today was moderate at best, they were clearly under a good deal of pressure sine it was the food festival and I can forgive the mess on the tables, the staff weren't down trodden and kept a polite welcome. The coffee however suffered badly and they simply succumbed to the pressure and basically boiled the milk to get the foam. This isn't a at they are about generally, hopefully next time will be better.

Called in after a half day's shopping with my sister and a friend. My sister is in a wheelchair and the venue was wheelchair friendly . The toilet facilities were excellent .There was seating both indoors and outdoors. The service was very quick and efficient and the young men serving were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The prices were comparable to other coffee shop venues. Will return next time we are in Morpeth

My son and I visited this afternoon as the weather was very warm.I sat at a table outside and my son went to order. He was away about 10 minutes and came back with 2 smoothies and a flapjack £8.30!And to make matters worse the table had not been cleared. The one in front was cleared first with no customers seated I had to ask for ours to be cleaned, however it was never wiped clean.Staff very young and inexperienced

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, it was purely by chance that walking through the Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth that we stumbled across the Central Bean Coffee House, attracted by the outdoor tables and with a family that had a clear requirement for a drink and a rest following a walk in the park.It was neither busy nor quiet - we weren't rushed in making our selection, finally settling on a cappuccino, cold coffee latte, 2 x fresh juices and a caramel slice. Service was friendly and efficient. All our drinks were excellent (although the kids didn't appreciate the sip of cold coffee latte!). It was a shame the outdoor table had been taken by the time we were ready to sit down but we found some comfy chairs where we relaxed and enjoyed our mid-afternoon break.I'm not normally a fan of the really mainstream brands as they strike me as not hugely clean and not that relaxing - predominantly to do with volume of customers! This discovery was both clean, tasty and most importantly relaxing! Cost wise, it was consistent with the mainstream brands.

I have to start by saying that the coffee served here is of a higher quality than normal, good strong and made with care and attention. The decor is nice and modern with some lovely features. Staff have always been polite and very friendly. The only real problem is there is quite often a bit of a funny atmosphere? The same group of people seem to congregate outside giving you funny looks as you enter and leave, but the biggest contribution to the atmosphere comes from the recently retired 50-60 year olds who seem to pose about on the stools desperately trying to look young and interesting, tapping on an iPad or pretending to read the financial times. I think being adjacent to shops like fat face and crew just attract the wannabe young. Despite the ageing lotharios this is a very nice coffee shop which definitely prioritises the quality of the coffee they serve. A real feather in Morpeth's cap.

Have visited here a few times now. The coffee is actually very good. But some of the staff don't understand the basics of customer service. A simple request for a (metal) spoon was given short shrift.

Always fast to be served, I life the Classic Cappuccino, Andy makes the best ones, however, everyone else does a pretty decent one as well. The sticky toffee and date cake it amazing!! While working away 8 months at a time, I really missed this!!

Our third visit to Central Bean and again not disappointed. Prices about the same as other high street chains but service with a smile and very friendly baristas. Delicious coffee and a flat white with a nice twist. Have not eaten the paninis but cakes and pastries ok. Nice atmosphere but the wifi was slow - and this was after the staff had rebooted the router!. Good location in Morpeth at the edge of the shopping arcade. This is our coffee shop of choice in town.

It was ok but nothing to push the boat out for. My daughter wanted chicken tikka panini but apparently had no tikka, I asked for a sandwich on brown bread cake but they had no brown bread cakes left. Really?? And this was only just after noon. Nothing special about the ham sandwich which all in all tasted bland. The dog ate most of it.

Large chain, standard menu offerings, busy, noisy setting, but good sea views, nice outside area. Food came quickly once managed to order at the busy bar. Burger sauce was the best item. Small burger Pattie, creamy coleslaw, hubby had monkfish scampi, bit over battered. Both sets of chips under cooked, when we were asked how our meal was, our reply was just received with blank stare and no response before waiter cleared our plates and left! Buffet breakfast the following morning as we expected! Basic sausages, overcooked black pudding, the bacon, mushrooms and hash browns ok, had run out of baked beans, but at least you could order different eggs if didn’t fancy fried.

Cool bar with friendly clientele. Staff are smiley and attentive. Love the skiing theme and the Brewdog beer. Great having the ski videos on the big screen aswell. Just a thought, have you thought about showing the live skiing on Eurosport/Discovery+?

Bought some beautifully grown bedding plants for a reasonable price. The hanging baskets were stunning. Very tempted.
