great place, always jolly and friendly and welcoming, great pizza and everything else I've had there has been good for the years I've been going.

Ristorante italiano come se ne possono trovare milioni a Londra. Menù banale, ma comunque anche se non è stato un pranzo indimenticabile, non mi sento di dire che si mangia male. Lo staff è friendly, ed il rapporto qualità/prezzo considerando che si è a Londra non è dei migliori. Ma ribadisco, per un pranzo veloce e non pretenzioso se si è in zona e si vuole mangiare italiano direi che va bene.

Así que fui a este lugar con varios amigos la semana pasada. Pedí sphagetti con albóndigas y el chef sirve hasta lo que él llama cariñosamente Spaghetti estilo banga. Fue un crisol de sabores deliciosos. Increíble. Voy a volver a tener más pronto

One of our neighbourhood favourites! Great meal, very friendly service, willing to make small adjustments to recipes to meet dietary requirements. Excellent bolognese, very nice salads. Should have more choice of wine by the glass. Overall a fabulous experience, back soon

Los partidos grandes son siempre un reto para unos pequeños restaurantes. Nos quedamos 10 y allí estaba el chef y una camarera, yo estaba preocupado, pero fue estupendo, no esperar y la comida llegamos juntos y en buen momento, vino y pan ha descendido cestas llenas. Pedimos una selección de entrantes y todos eran geniales, con un ambiente muy auténtico. Tuve Spaghetti albóndigas y estaban muy bien, con mucha carne sin ser pesado y la salsa era justo. Este es un lugar estupendo para comer.

Centonove surely has to be the coolest, tastiest, best kept secret in Notting Hill. Without a trip to Naples, you won't find pizzas this authentic; the essentials (bruschetta; linguine alla Carbonara) never disappoint but it's Centonove's own creations that shouldn't be missed, Try macaroni with clams & asparagus in garlic,chilli & white wine cream sauce if you don't believe me! Molto bene!

Vine aquí con dos amigos y lo disfrutamos muchísimo. Estaba reservado por un amigo siguiendo las recomendaciones y comentarios TripAdvisor. Me quedé bastante sorprendido por el tamaño del restaurante, es bastante pequeño, pero el personal fue amable y deliciosa comida compensaba. Compartimos la bruschetta y calamar en Chile y ajo para empezar, deliciosa y (para mí, de todos modos) un buen nivel de calor desde el chili. Tuve el alla Pescatore linguini que estaba delicioso. Mis amigos tenían pizzas que parecía y estaba buenísimo (según ellos). Por desgracia, no había un largish multitud que habían venido a más tarde y casi los gritos que los demás que nos estropeó la atmósfera, por no mencionar casi detenido una conversación sobre nuestra mesa, pero que se calmaba su comida cuando llegamos. En general, buena comida, un ambiente agradable e íntimo, y sin duda considerar ir allí de nuevo.

Les pâtes étaient excellentes, le cadre sympathique et le personnel attentif. Nous avons passé une bonne soirée à 4 en famille.

It's a shame that Centonove is not busier - the food is fresh and tasty, the service is friendly and efficient, and the only thing missing is the ambience that you get in a busy buzzing restaurant. My buffalo mozzarella was wonderful and my beef fillet melted in my mouth. We went for the more expensive end of the menu, but you could easily eat well for £20 per person if you didn't make it a very boozy meal.

Great evening and with a very large table they managed very well.

The quality of the food is amazing. Pizza Gorgonzola was just like being back in Rome. Probably the best pizza in town? The atmosphere is cozy while not being too noisy. I would recommend this place (and the Tiramisu!) to everyone.

In sehr gemütlicher Atmosphäre gibt es hier mega-leckere Pizza. Von Außen unscheinbar, MIT Kaminfeuer (!), absolut authentisch und o-ho! Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

I had dinner there with a friend, the environment was lovely, the fire was o and we were given a table by the fireplace. It was really nice. The lady who served us was very nice, we wanted cocktails and they didn't have list but she said she would prepare anything for us so we ordered bellinis and they were marvelous. The food was standard Italian, I don't think it was rather authentic, I had a caprese sald which was lovely as it had real buffala mozzarella, but the carbonara was rather oily. The deserts were ok. Overall very good experience if you are a local to try.

I fell upon this lovely little gem when looking for a place to celebrate my birthday with a group of 8 in early January 2016. I am a big fan of small Italian restaurants with authenticity. Menu had a great and delicious range of food to choose from, I went for the Ravioli alla Salsiccia e Peperoncino and their mozzarella is to die for!However, I was extremely disappointed by the service we received. There was only one waitress too on a busy Saturday night for about 1.5 hours of us being there and the other one turned up later.When guests arrived, it took 20 minutes for drinks to arrive (half only turned up during starters), starters took about 30 minutes and dinner was served 2 hours after ordering! People who arrived after us, received their food BEFORE US and even left BEFORE we begun eating our mains. Despite asking when the food would be ready multiple times, we did not get a response as to when it would be ready...we were all sat there waiting and the waitresses would avoid eye contact with us. After a good two hours of waiting, food begun to arrive one by one... it took 30 minutes for ALL dishes to be served to the group. By the time the last dish arrived, everyone else's food was cold. Even two of the dishes had cold food on the plate when served which was appalling!The staff did offer us "compensation" which was very nice of them however I would not recommend to visit this place in a large group! Great food but it is such a shame their service lets them down.

been to this restaurant many times, fantastic place to wine up with friends/family, fantastic food, excellent service with friendly staff, they always make us feel home... too many delicious choices on the menu that we always end up ordering couple to share :)

Needing a last minute dinner reservation on a Saturday evening we settled upon Centonove, having wanted to visit since we moved to this side of Notting Hill late last year. We were not disappointed.Service was warm and friendly, looking after us and taking our coats, a nice touch. We enjoyed some fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic whilst we waited for starters or bruschetta (tomatoes were super juicy) and two proper Italian pizzas. The blue cheese in my salami pizza oozed throughout and melted in my mouth, so damn good!We had a great meal for two and for less than £40 including beers and service charge. We will be back for sure! A great little find.

Having travelled in Italy a lot this is one of the places we go to regularly for the authentic dishes and friendly service. Highly recommend it for a relaxed atmosphere and great tasting meal.

We booked the all inclusive new year eve menu here and were not disappointed. The restauratnt was packed with diners, as to be expected on such a nit, but the two waitresses were more than capable for keeping the courses running smoothly. The food was served quickly without fuss, and was delicious. We also received a free glass of Proscessco each. We had three courses plus excellent coffees to finish. The atmosphere was great all night, and there was no rush for this great value meal.

This is the best pizza in London and has just toppled Santa Maria, in my book. Great dough and tomato sauce, toppings and preparation. Service is super friendly, ambience cosy (if a little noisy at peak times). Highly recommended. (Good grappa too!)

Went with a group of friends on NYE for dinner.Set menu was reasonable - glass of fizz and 3 courses for £35.Choices included scallops, veal, prawns and risotto - somewhat limiting but all our group could make a choice. Had been offered ala carte when booked, but this offer was rescinded on arrival.Good was good, nothing special, but on par with what I'd expect for a menu of that price on a holiday such as NYE.Service was attentive and the wine was reasonable (in price and taste).The place had a good vibe and was busy with a mix of locals and tourists. Would return to sample the full menu if I was passing.

We are italians and, sorry mates, but italians do it better. Prices on average for london but the food is really good, tasty, well cooked, portions are honest, atmosphere really friendly and warm. We will back for sure. Only a little problem, one of the waitress was in rush probably for the nye party, understandable, but it's not nice asking 4 times for the water and 3 times for the wine. The other waitress was really professional and friendly.

Centonove, congratulations! They have a wonderful service, the ambient is lovely with a perfect touch of elegance in combination with good taste, decoration is cozy and the staff working there make you feel in family and friendly, but the most important thing besides the great time I had there is the Food !!! Great dishes, fresh and colorful plates made with Italian passion and love... Great place! I highly recommend it!!

Every time a pleasure. This warm and cozy spot offers delicious food and a great atmosphere. One of the only places in London where you can find authentic Italian food, and... The best Tiramisù ever!!!definitely worth trying.

My partner and I went to Centonove for a Friday night dinner. We split a bottle of wine and a starter, and each had a lobster pasta. The starter (calamari) was perfect, and the wine was quite good as well (hence the 3 stars). However, things fell apart with our pasta. Our dish was supposed to each contain half a lobster, which we requested out of the shell - big mistake! When the plates came, it was just a tomato sauce with barely any specks of lobster meat. We then called the waiter and asked where the lobster was, and she said it was mixed in. I asked her to inspect my plate and see if she thought half a lobster was mixed in -- she took a look and said she would check with the kitchen. She came back with the empty shells and said "Yup, it's mixed in." Surprised, I asked her to look again in my plate and honestly tell me if she thought there was more than a fork's worth of lobster. She looked at my plate, couldn't see lobster, and went back to the kitchen again. This time, she returned with two small dollops of minced lobster on a plate. She apologized and said the chef had forgotten to add it in. She then left the plate with us, and we had to add in the lobster meat (barely seasoned) into our own plates at our table. It unsurprisingly didn't taste so great. For £20/plate, this is completely unacceptable. On the positive side, she did take 10% off our bill.

I have eaten in a lot of places all over the world and this restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants and one of the best restaurants full stop. The service is friendly and the food is stunning. If you want the real Italian experience you have to come here.

Sehr einladend von aussen mit schoen gedeckten Tischen und Kaminfeuer. Das Essen ist frisch zubereitet und schmeckt authentisch. Schnelle Zubereitung. Pizza, Ravioli, Lachs-Avokado-Tartar sehr lecker. Preis-Leistung fuer London o.k. Insgesamt jederzeit gerne wieder.

Good owner managed restaurant. Quality of food very good as a result. Service could be improved upon - generally good, with occasional lapses. They offer a fixed price menu, but this did not include the items we particularly wanted. Could improve on that. I will return!

Went to this restaurant with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday. The meal was very nice, if a little overpriced (but I wasn't paying!) and the staff were very friendly. Would go back again.

The pasta was tasty; I had the Linguine alla Carbonara e Pesto. I asked for a glass of white wine, not specifying as I am no expert, and it was very good also. The service was friendly. I would go back without hesitation.

I have walked past Centonove a number of times and finally got to try it while catching up with a friend. The Open Table menu looked interesting, but when compared to the a la carte menu, gave you no better value which felt a bit odd. We ordered a starter to share (caprese salad - lovely fresh mozzarella), and had a pizza and the chicken as mains; both of which were very generously sized and tasty. The restaurant was quite empty for a Thursday night but based on the amount of walk-ins, it seems to be a popular place for takeaway pizza. An enjoyable night, but I am not sure it delivered to its potential.

We come here at least once a week. Notting Hill is fuelled with authentic Italian kitchens but Centonova gets the mix of food and atmosphere just right. Top three things..1) they get it 2) the food is delicious (try the carpaccio di manzo or lobster linguini) 3) friendly and relaxed

We went there to celebrate my graduation as yoga teacher and i am so happy we did! It was a greta meal! the restaurant was empty when we arrived; which gave us a chance to choose the best table; next to the window, and really chat to the waitress about what food they had available and also to ask for a vegan variation of one of their salads! My other half has prawns and pasta and we both liked our dishes! As we were eating we saw a couple of friends come in with their pooch and so we found out the restaurant is dogs friendly and we are so happy! The food was really well priced and we ate a lot! it was amazing!

Excellente soirée que j'ai passé dans ce restaurant où j'ai été accueilli chaleureusement! Excellent qualité/prix. La carte des Menu est complète, large choix en Entrée, Salade, Pizza, Pâte, viande et poisson! L'entrée était délicieuse sans parler de mes Pâtes qui était de loin les meilleures que j'ai jamais mangé. Le cadre est très sympathique et le personnel très souriant et dynamique! I went to this cosy restaurant with friends last Friday evening. The restaurant offers a wide choice of pizzas and pasta. The pizza I took (Boscaiola) was really tasty. The staff was very friendly. It's a really good deal, very good food for a decent price. I definitely recommend it!

I put a 4 for the food which was really nice and fresh, but the service was slow and the waitress as cold as the beer was fresh....(not very pleasant)Apart from that , the restaurant is well located next to little VeniceIt was very empty when we arrived at 7.30pm , but got completely packed an hour later.Looks like a lot of regular clients were in the restaurant that evening, so that would confirm the quality of the food.The bill was not too expensive

Sono andato al 109 con un gruppo di amici, subito si respira un aria accogliente, cameriere disponibili e attente al dettaglio, il menù offre piatti semplici ma ben curati, io ho mangiato i paccheri e devo dire che la pasta cotta espressa neanche in italia si trova più, molto buoni, i miei amici hanno mangiato tagliatelle fatte in casa e pizza ottima presentata con spiegazione sull impasto a lunga lievitazione dal proprietario. Dolci homemade, buona carta dei vini. Piacevole serata in un ambiente intimo.Tutto ok consigliatissssssiimmmo!!!

I discovered this little jewel around 12 years ago. I went several times for dinners with small group of friends. Food is delicious and amazing quality! 8 years ago I went there with my now husband for our second date ❤️The perfect setting changed my life! We're not the only married couple which started there! Two good friends of us had by chance their first date thereEvery time we want a Romantic night we go there! Including St Valentines. I love it and my husband too!Last night I felt like having a romantic dinner. I didn't hesitate and asked my husband to go there! My husbands Tagliata was delicious! I always choose their unique salads with thinly cut artichokes! I only find them there!Very good value for money! Strongly recommend!

It was my first time at Centonove Restaurant. The experience overall was quite positive, it has an OK atmosphere, the food is what makes it special, great menu with great variety and cooked to perfection. The service bit lets i down a bit, orders are double checked and a little bit late. No plate came and was put in front of the person who ordered it, overall i would give it another chance.

We use this restaurant for take away pizza regularly, if you want plastic cheese and American style pizza there's a chain a few doors away. If you want fantastic, authentic pizza from a family run Italian restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff this is the place for you.

I have been with a friend in this cosy Italian restaurant and was a very good experience,authentic Italian and very tasty food , we had to start melanzane alla parmigiana and beef carpaccio both very nice.Then they suggested us to try the veal ossobuco with risotto alla Milanese and it was really really good,then we finished with tiramisu' and it was fantastic! Best I ever tried .......complimenti!

I booked a table for four. we had rented a flat in Notting Hill Gate for the US Thanksgiving Week. We took our son and his girl friend there for dinner. The food overall was good...some highlights were the artichoke salad and the seafood stew. We booked at 7:30 and there were some patrons there but it really didn't start hopping till we left around 9 PM. The service staff were very attentive- some spoke mainly Italian which added to the authenticity. Overall a good neighborhood Italian restaurant

Westbourne parkの駅から歩いて10分弱。とても美味しいイタリアンです。パスタの茹で加減も良いですし、他にも全ての料理がオススメ出来ます。また、スタッフもとても親切な方が多く、安心して入ることが出来ると思います。この近辺では一番の イタリアンじゃないかと思います。

As I come from Italy, I usually avoid Italian restaurants abroad, but Centonove menu appealed me to try this candlelit restaurant.Lovely service and very attentive to customer's needs, food well presented and I really enjoyed my second course which was the paccheri with wild clams. Would absolutely recommend for a relaxed dinner with a good glass of Pecorino!A bit pricey on salads and a pity you can't choose to give the service charge included to the floor service which has to be added on top.

We always look for informal but serious places to eat nearby in west london. Centonove offers a warm welcome, excellent menu, beautifully cooked and served with pride and pleasure, the care and attention to the food makes the experience outstanding and certainly worth repeating many times

Having lived a great part of my life in Italy, I am generally disappointed by British versions of Italian food. Centonove is the exception. This small quirky restaurant on the fringes of Notting Hill, cooks especially for you and everything that I, or any of my guests, have tried on about 10 visits has been delicious. Do not expect glitz, but a friendly atmosphere and excellent food.

Passavo per caso davanti al ristorante 109 in Westbourn Park, dando una occhiata la menù esposto all'esterno, ho notato dei piatti pieni di inventiva, devo dire che quando sono a Londra non vado mai a mangiare in ristoranti italiani, ma questa voltà è stata una lieta sorpresa, ho mangiato con gusto dll'antipasto al dolce, che devo dire davano un segno di freschezza e genuinità, anche la scelta dei vini presentati nel menù era buona, sono stato veramente soddisfatto como lo sono state le persone che erano con me. Direi assolutamente da provare.

Amazing Pizza - I had the Margarita with aubergines added on top. Their ingredients are very fresh, tasty and you can tell even from when you see the pizza! Take away and delivery is also available. I won't buy pizza from anywhere else in the future!

Sono stata in questo ristorante che mi è stato consigliato. I prodotti sono a dir poco eccellenti, ho mangiato una pizza che senza esagerare non ho mangiato nemmeno a Roma!! Ottimi anche i primi piatti. Lo chef è italiano e SI SENTE!!! Consigliato decisamente se si è stufi di mangiare le solite cose inglesi! Sicuramente prezzi alti.

This is not fast food. If you want to be in and out in 40 Min do not eat here. It is all prepared for you after you order and timed to perfection so everyone's food is perfectly prepared. The pasta was exquisite. Perfectly done with a perfectly balanced sauce. Pizza was pronounced the best ever by my 14 year old foodie. It is small intimate and a wonderful respite from the busy streets. We took time for our dinner and dessert waiting in between and nobody rushed us.

Siamo capitati in questo ristorante per caso e direi che la fortuna questa volta è stata dalla nostra parte. Il posto è piccolo ma davvero accogliente. Il personale parla italiano e per chi non mastica a perfezione l'inglese è perfetto. I piatti sono tutti della tradizione italiana con ingredienti italiani e alcuni fatti arrivare direttamente dall'Italia. La qualità delle portate e la quantità è ottima e abbondante. Insomma davvero tutto buono! Consiglio vivamente a chi si trova in zona (mercato di Portobello o Notting Hill) di passare al 109 e di farsi una bella e sana mangiata!

We had dinner on a Saturday . Our lobster spaghetti were definitely too "al dente" and you can trust my judgment as I am italian ( we like pasta al dente). That pasta was not only uncooked but missed salt, combination that hardly justifies £20+vat per portion in such a tiny and unpretentious venue. The mid range white wine we order for £30+Vat was frankly undrinkable. We found the restaurant too noisy also, it was very difficult to hear each other. Centonove was never cheap but use to be a place where you could still taste original italian cousin. These days is just not worth it, we thought it became a money machine like many others in London that doesn't care anymore about delivering good food

We went here after an error on my part (Walked to a restaurant that was shut!!) as it was near where we were staying. There was only one other couple here when we got there, but that didn't really faze us as it was a Sunday night. We had 2 courses each for £15 pp, which was good I think! We both had calamari to start, which was REALLY tasty, definitely try that!!! I then had a spicy salami pizza and my boyfriend had a carbonara. They were both really good, the portions are a good size and they don't try and rip you off. I actually didn't even finish my pizza because it was so big.It looked like it was a family-run restaurant, with a little kid chatting away but that was kinda sweet. I think more people should go to these independent places rather than going to chain restaurants these days. It was really lovely! Good location also, near Notting Hill/Bayswater. It was a 15 minute walk back to Bayswater, and its a nice walk back!

I'm always happy to suggest Centonove as a dinner venue to friends. The food is great. So fresh. The three people I brought here this time all enjoyed their meals - be it pasta or pizza. Great relaxed atmosphere with very helpful staff.

After waiting 40 mins for your order to arrive, when you are served a burnt lasagne and told that its the chef's style - I personally think its insulting. One of my friends ordered a pesto spaghetti dish which was basically just boiled noodles tossed in pesto sauce with no seasoning, garnish or flavours. Very average food. There are much better Italian restaurants in London to try!

The food is always delightful (we've made it a favorite); Carlos (the head Executive Chef)always makes our food delightful and fresh!

Location romantica calda e accogliente. Se si vuole uscire dalla concezione di cibo mordi e fuggi e del fake italy il Centonove è il posto adatto. Cominciamo dalle insalate che sono molte è mai scontate , noi abbiamo scelto quella di salmone con avocato, baby spinaci condite con una salsa di olio e limone super buona, a seguire calamari alla diavola superbi, ed insieme agli antipasti ci hanno portato una focaccia con rosmarino e parmigiano ( difficile trovare un impasto così croccante e leggero a Londra) . Per primo paccheri vongole e asparagi.... IL TOP !!! Ed in fine i dessert... Tiramisú e tortino di mele, difficile trovarli anche in Italia così buoni... Veramente complimenti al proprietario e chef Brass, ci torneremo sicuramente!!

Wir sind durch Zufall in diesem kleinen Restaurant gelandet. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich. Es war überraschenderweise (Sonntag Abend) aber sehr leer. Das Essen war gut und mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet, aber nicht herausragend. Die Einrichtung fanden wir wunderschön und sehr sauber und gepflegt.

Having read many of the reviews, we did not have too high expectations when we booked a table last minute on a Saturday and there were still a table available. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was very personal (3 girls for maybe 10 tables), the ambience is great (type romantic) and our dishes were very good. Definitely a place we will visit again.

Food very disappointing, first course OK but main of pasta not good. Far too fussy, not as pasta should be must have been cooked for people who don't know how pasta should be cooked

Have to review this place because we get a delivery pizza weekly.It's not your regular bready rubbish dressed up as posh pizza like some of the 'wood fired' chains, this the real deal, top class ingredients expertly put together.It's consistently amazing, don't really know what else to say...... There was once a problem with delivery and the staff sorted it instantly.Lots of love for this place....

I ate with my sister-in-law and girlfriend on a Friday night this summer. We shared two pizzas and a pasta. My sister-in-law is Italian and has a refined taste for what is and what is not good Italian. Centonove ticks the boxes. The food is authentic, beautifully prepared, cooked and served. I understand that all the staff and kitchen are Italian, so one can expect slightly inattentive service, however, Centonove bucks the norms. There is none of that mass-produced Italian food typical of so many Italian restaurants in London. Will definitely return. Ideal for a date or dinner with friends.

What a pleasant little restaurant! Very friendly staff, unpretentious atmosphere, informal but pretty room, and good food in moderate portions and at reasonable prices. The salad Centonove is delicious and all the pastas we've tried are excellent. There are always families with children here and the staff greet and treat everyone with warmth. Centonove has joined our rotation of regular Sunday-night family hangouts.

I'm a restaurant lover... I like to experience cuisines from all around the world but my favourite remains Italian as I am an Italian myself... by the way I feel that I have to share my experience at "centonove" ,where recently I went with some friends, because I had an amazing time there... this place is one of a kind, most of the dishes they do are home-made like the tagliolini,the lovely bread, the amazing desserts... and everything taste delicious, I believe that the talent of a chef is shown on the simplest dish... I had the pan fried calamari and the pennette all' arrabbiata(tomato and chili sauce) and I'm dreaming to go there for more... it was gourgeous! we also had paccheri con vongole e asparagi, the thin crust pizza with buffalo mozzarella and the seabass... and the very best part was the tiramisu'... I feel like I'm already addicted to it... the atmosphere was perfect, low lights (but not too much), surrounded music, shabby chic and very good friendly service. Highly recommended and looking forward to go back to centonove...

Quelle bonne soirée ! Un très bon accueil, une carte simple et une salle très agréable. Serveurs très sympathiques et très attentifs. Une salle comble et une bonne ambiance générale. Nous conseillons le risotto de la mer ! Excellent ! Les pizzas, en particulier celle avec aubergines grillées sont très fines et avec un parfum d Italie. Enfin le dessert : tiramisu maison, léger et peu sucré, très très bon ! Nous avons adoré ce restaurant !

If I fancy Italian food when in the neighbourhood, I head to Centonove, especially if I want thin and crispy pizza. Pasta here is good too with interesting and tasty starters. I have been to this restaurant a few times and the ingredients are always fresh. Even my Italian friend loved it here, and she has very high standards when it comes to Italian food.

Girando tra Notting Hill e Portobello sulla Westbourne Park Road esattamente al 109 c'è un ristorantino Italiano capace di unire lo stile inglese dei suoi locali con l'ospitalità e la cucina tutta italiana, ho mangiato la pizza e devo dire che era di ottima qualità, il propietario è molto cordiale e il rapporto qualità prezzo più che conveniente, una pizza una birra ed un dolce per solo 13£ a Londra è èpiù che conveniente

Had friends visiting from overseas so I knew this would be a good option after a longhaul flight. Staff are always very friendly and helpful but non-intrusive. Food always fresh although I must try the pizza next time. I just love the pesto carbonara and haven't tried anything else for fear that it won't be as good!

Centonove is an embassment to Italy. We visited for dinner and the service from the off was terrible. As we sat down we asked for some olives. The waitress said that she would find out if 'olives' were available as she didn't know if there was such a thing in the restaurant.. Really?! In an Italian restaurant? If we'd have asked for cavelo nero fed squid fished from untouched waters a consultation with the chef would have been understandable. But olives? No, not acceptable. The main courses then flowed out and were presented in a manner akin to that of a Sainsbury's cook at home pamphlet. Utterly unimpressive food that one could knock up in ten minutes flat without really paying much attention. The Gnocchetti with Pancetta ,Pachino and Bufala at a staggering £14,90 was abysmal. The menu states "homemade potato dumplings with pancetta and cherry tomato sauce,topped with buffalo milk mozzarella" However when I asked the chef after the meal if the kitchen made their own gnocchi he said "no". And it was obvious. The perfectly formed factory processed dumplings were tough and dense. The pancetta was, errrmmmmm, fried in a frying pan, the cheery tomatoes were warmed in an oven and the bufala was cold straight from the fridge. There really were no redeeming features to this meal and returning for another bite of the sour cherry is absolutely out of the question. The staff were unobliging in every way and unable to see their own failings. A new member of staff not knowing the the technicalities of a menu is fine, but to not know if a national staple is available to order is a true lack of decency. Shut this place down, it's embarrassing.
