Cemetery Hotel in Rochdale

Was slightly disappointed with Sunday lunch the plates were cold and had to send food back as it wasn't hot enough and thought £13.50 was expensive for Sunday lunch and the size wasn't much bigger than smaller portion

Great beer great service my favourite drinking pub

Top pub, last visited here in the 90's and happened to spot it as I was driving through the area, called in for old times sake and glad I did, the hand pulled ales were all on top form!

Went in Christmas night, well controlled, service prompt, well kept real ale. I spoke to the staff they seem keen on eradicating anti social behaviour 👍🏻👍🏻

Its a great family run pub. Free house great choice of cask beers. Food is cooked to order. Fantastic theme nights Tapas night once a month, chicken night Thursday half a chicken + trimmings and stake night Wednesday. Friendly locals with a great mix of ages.

Only visited for lunch but very enjoyable. The only downside was the lack of parking which meant a fairly long walk for my dad which these days is never a good thing

A really nice, proper Pub. Food, real ales, and good wines. Very close to the Cemetery and Crematorium so not a bad place for a drink in memoriam. One drawback is parking, very limited and on a busy corner.

What a fantastic pub, always a must visit when in the area! Separate small rooms, one bar, lots of choice and great food. Can't speak highly enough of it just sorry I live so far away.

A very nice Pub / Inn. Separate rooms you can meet up in with SkySports on the TV. One room had a stove and felt very friendly. As a visiting football supporter and a CamRa member was pleased to see a good selection of ale. No dark beers when I went. The locals were friendly and of good cheer. I will certainly visit this establishment next time I'm n the Rochdale area.

Local to your funeral arrangments choice, Ideal funeral wake, catering here. Good selection, good size, busy place, helpful friendly staff. Parking for the family is limited at the rear but street behind we had no neighbor complaints during the daytime, afternoon. Must be the most understanding of loss neighborhood, living next to a cemetery. Suggestion... Car share if funeral arrangements are at Rochdale.

Great afternoon here with the family 13 Sunday roast done perfect the atmosphere was chilled we took up a whole room and we never once felt rushed! Service was on form didn’t have to wait for anything thank you!

More trees to rear car park please. Otherwise wonderful.

I’ve been to this pub on a couple of occasions. I had a pint and a beef and ale pie with chips which I enjoyed. More recently I asked for the same but instead I got a bowl of beef soup with a piece of pastry covering the top of the bowl. The quality was really bad. The pub itself though is quite nice and clean.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and due to covid we couldn't have a party. Buy Taff helped us out and I had 8 close members of my family with me.we had a lovely meal and we were in a side room on our own. Perfect thank you.

Went tonight to watch the Man City vs Madrid game, there was about 5 of us watching it and it went to half time and then the channel turned to some wrestling! When I went to the bar and asked them why the football wasn’t on anymore, the girl said yeah someones watching it upstairs where we wasn’t allowed!! So we had to leave half way through? Bearing in mind I had messaged them before hand asking if they were showing it to which they said yes, so we had watched half of it and then they turned it off after the first half and refused to let us watch the rest what’s the point of that! I had actually enjoyed my time before this weird situation, just strange to change the channel and not tell anyone when customers are clearly here to watch the match.

I worked here as a DJ, if you are looking for somewhere to host a party, this place has a great function room, friendly staff and ideal for small functions. I've not had the chance to sample the atmosphere in the pub downstairs, but from briefly walking through, it certainly seemed very friendly and a busy local pub.

Great food...did a buffet for a funeral...excellent and good prices...will go out of their way to help you...open a bit earlier if you need..reserve any room...all no extra cost and didn't have to pay until afterwards. Nice small friendly crowd, good beer, big selection of gins and great decor, pool table, clean toilets, a small car park, seating out front. Excellent friendly staff and owners.

25yrs since I last visited. Happy to see it's not been knocked about and that you still have traditional separate rooms, very olde worlde.

Cosy pub, friendly staff, good range of drinks. Let down by letting people smoke in the entrance so there is a wall of smoke to walk through when entering/leaving. Seating is only comfortable for up to an hour.

If it wasn't for the football & funerals crowd it would have died a natural death years ago.

It may have real ales, if it wasn't for the football & funeral punters it would have closed years ago.

Hi, all I have is good things to say about this venue. I think it would be a good idea to stick some more pictures of your excellent food on your Google profile. The cemetery challenge would be a good edition to the photo's! 10/10 for service also!

The name makes it seem like a pub where the alcoholics of the town drown their sorrow after a lost football match... But that is not what it is at all. It is a cozy cheerful sports bar full with good natured people and a very nice selection of alcohol. Suitable even for a date, since it's rather stylish and they have very good cider on tap, but also a place where to watch football with friends. Would definitely recommend and want to visit again.

Horrendous atmosphere, in fact probably better in the actual Cemetry. Secluded coves making it easy for middle age blokes to intimate, actually one punched a young lad in the face! Would never go again, prefer to feel safe.

It couldn't have gone better. Everything was very well organised. The Staff and Food were excellent. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending to anyone. Thanks to all.

didnt like this old dingy old fashioned pub but some may love it for that same reason, dont like small rooms and having to drink in the doorway cause i cant fit in !

This is a locals pub for all ages. There is a fine range of real ales as well as a variety of lagers and ciders. There is food available daily which low priced and tasty. The service is generally of a good standard with polite and friendly staff. A great pub to attend at any time.

Every time I go it's always great food - decent pub grub and the menu isn't too complicated. The portions are ample and you will not leave feeling hungry. Great ales on sale also.

Working up here at the moment and found this pub (Nearest one). Very welcoming, with a very diverse bunch of locals, all of whom are very nice. No problems what so ever. The meal and a pint offer is very good indeed. Very old/traditional looking internally. My kind of pub. A*

cosy little rooms and the food was excellent. Had a roast meal and the apple and berries crumble for dessert, really nice and not too sweet. I can only recommend this pub.

Nice place for few drinks, friendly staff.

While I like the look of this place inside and out, it had shortcomings as a venue for a Wake. The meat and potato pie supplied was poor and was served lukewarm. There were bread rolls and butter, but no knives put out to use with them. While tea and coffee had been offered as part of the catering package, none was initially supplied. Eventually one small pot of each was arranged somewhat begrudgingly.

The people who work here keep the whole place in working order. Gardeners imparticule..

Wonderful selection of beers in a quirky but comfortable environment. Possibly one of the cleanest pub toilets in Rochdale.

Dropped in here last night for a quickie. Pub warm, clean and very friendly. Good selection of ales. Monday night football was on so there were a few guys scattered around watching the game. By about 0930 the place was packed - Monday night is Quiz night !It just shows that if you get it right people will still fill a good pub. Well done to the guys running this one. I will definitely return.
