Walked in today to be told that as of today Sunday October 28th 2018 they are shutting for a stated refurbishment but am suspicious as the staff where only told this last Wednesday , apparently it was the first they knew about it & also where all losing there jobs as of today , Only 5 day notice for them & only a day for us as a usual party of 4 . This is a great shame as it was such a friendly place with wonderful staff & Super food . Pity no advanced warning so now have to find another venue or turn the gas back on our cooker after all these years . Many extremely angry & sad customers . Thanks to all the wonderful meals shall miss you all & good luck for your future jobs .

I have had Sunday carvery at Cedars a couple of times now & both times have found it to be a really good meal. The price is very reasonable & with 3 choices of meat & tons of fresh veg plus the trimmings you can’t go wrong. My son played in the soft play while we waited for lunch & I have to say when I opened the door to the soft play it smelt fleshly sanitised & very clean which I’ve never had before in a soft play! It’s very family oriented being part of a camp site which is great. All in all I thoroughly recommend it.

This restaurant is actually based in the clubhouse at Sun Valley Caravan Park on the way into Pentewan. The staff are great - friendly, welcoming and really knowledgeable. This is not your typical caravan park bar & restaurant, the food could rival many pricier establishments! The menu is creative and varied, the 2 young chefs there produce really lovely dishes that are beautifully cooked and well presented. We chose seafood starters - baked crab in a sauce and mussells cooked in Rattler cider and bacon, followed by belly pork also cooked in Rattler cider with garlic & rosemary potatoes and shredded spring cabbage. It was full of flavour and very well presented. The mid week carvery looked excellent and was really good value for money. The Cedars is also open to the public - if you're in the area, I suggest you give it a go!

We had our weeks holiday at this lovely location at Sun Valley. We were well surprised when we found this lovely Restaurant in the nearby clubhouse. It has a fantastic range of food and drinks . We had several meals here and can honestly say that we enjoyed every single mouthfull. Well cooked, presented and served at dining table by friendly staff. John and Claire went out of thier way to accommodate our every request, also the Sunday Roast was a real dream. We can only recommend this establishment as being first class. A really pleasant experience.

Went with friends for the quiz and had the carvery. Excellent food very hot for carvery, wide choice of meats, and for vegetarians the rest without the meat! But such a choice of veg its no problem, It is a campsite, there are kids playing, there is a swimming pool adjacent with people using the facilities, if this is a problem don't go there, You wont be disappointed with the food, or the price, (£5:95 for Wednesday carvery) Very popular, make sure you book to be sure of a table.

Visited Cedars today for Sunday lunch. The place was busy, staff where friendly and helpful. Sunday carvery come in two sizes, 2 meats £8.95 or 3 meats £9.95. A choice of 3 different meats, a range of delicious vegetables to choose from and fill your plate! Really tasty food and great value for money. Food was OK apart from the chips they were greasy. staff were all nice apart from a grumpy girl with a lip piercing she was unhelpful, miserable, and had no common sense as she offered my 1 year old a glass to drink from, also if you have children going in the soft play area be careful of the plug sockets without covers on them one is in the ball pool and is easy to reach for little ones.

After a long trip from Wales we didn't fancy driving to somewhere so we decided to try the onsite reataurant. Now nothing bad and all clean but it didn't look like a restaurant inside. We weren't sure if we were in the right place and we were the only ones there (we were early though). We ordered mussels to start and my husband had the natchos. Large starters but tasty. The main my husband had fish and chips and I had a burger. It was a huge burger with onion rings. The layout and quality is something you would expect from a 5* restaurant. It was really good. Its obviously popular as when we arrived for the entertainment it was busy with people eating. Its used by guest of the park as you couldn't have a quiet meal there when a clown is on stage.

A very modern interior which is light, airy and spacious with contemporary seating in the bar and restaurant area. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the bar is popular with regulars during "Happy Hour" when beer is £2.50 a pint. A good selection of real ales. The Fish Fryday is popular at £6.95. The haddock was watery and totally tasteless but the pollock was flavoursome and a much better option. Both were served with potato wedges rather than chips. All washed down with a drinkable Merlot.

We had been recommended this restaurant and booked for Mother's Day. We had to pre order our menu prior to the reservation either 2 courses or 3. On arrival the restuarant was very pleasant. We were seated and gave the waitress our order as requested. The starters arrived which was very nicely presented and tasty. The table was cleared and reset for the main course. We must of waited at least 30 minutes and my husband actually joked by saying that we had been forgeten and he was going to leave if we had to wait much longer. The waiter then turned up at the table and asked if we were waiting for anything else, we both said yes our main courses. Not long after he returned with our food. Well we now wish we had left. The potatoes were just a shell, Yorkshire pudding was a crisp, roasted parsnips burnt and both meats, lamb and beef was a plate of fat and gristle. We both picked around and decided to pay the bill and leave. We were asked on paying if everything was fine which we explained it was not. The bar staff although apologetic asked if we needed to speak to anyone which we replied we have just informed you why should we need to repeat it you could see by the meals left on the table it was not edible. Very poor service and food.

This restaurant was recommended to me by my hairdresser so we decided out of the blue to give it a go. We arrived quite late and they had just closed the kitchen. The accommodating lady behind the bar shot into the kitchen and asked the chef if he would mind staying on a bit. He turned everything back on and awaited our order. The menu is quite small but everything sounded very appetizing so we had no problem choosing something. Our kids wanted small portions off the adult menu rather than the kids menu which was fine also. What Can i say, the food was all obviously freshly prepared and with high quality produce. I had a 10oz rump steak with all of the usual trimmings and a fresh rocket and sweet pepper salad, also accompanied with a Cornish blue cheese sauce. I can honestly say that this was the nicest cheese sauce that I have ever tasted. The steak was seared cooked and seasoned perfectly. My daughters both had pasta dishes that again were prepared with fresh homemade sauces, the portion size was very generous for the price. We have returned since to try the £3.95 Wednesday carvery..... Yes £3.95...... And it was better than roasts that I have paid 3 times the amount for. The staff are very friendly the surroundings relaxing with good children's fascilities. We also stayed for the wednesday night quiz which was fun.I operate a taxi company and will definitely recommending this restaurant to all of my customers.

Booked up for a last minute Sunday lunch for 6 inc 2 children. Upon arrival saw a child's sold play - perfect for the kids and they were entertained the entire time. The bar was busy and the staff seemed quite flustered. We ordered drinks and was told where our table was, we were then told that we will be called to go up and get our food. We sat down and waited for 15 minute s before we were called, not a single person went up to get any food during the time we were sat down. Service was very slow, but the meal itself was delicious! Booked table for a Sunday carvery following rave reviews on here. Tables & chairs like you have at home & like hubby said its like eating in someone's lounge!!! Bar area more homely; that's where you buy drinks & pay for carvery ( very reasonable drinks bill). You then go up table by table; however hubby & I lost our place in the queue as had to help our children carry their plates back!!! Food served on square plates not the easiest to carry. Price very reasonable & good selection of veg some meats quite fatty though & like one reviewer said it does go cold quickly & no dessert options unless we missed them.Place was heaving you have to book & can't linger there was another booking on our table. Adjacent soft play area ok but bit soulless . We went as had friends visiting & they love a carvery but not sure we would return. Perhaps they should make use of the fab pool & do a swim & roast on Sundays. Also its just the carvery on Sundays no other meals much to my fussy eater son's disappointment!!!

booked up here for Sunday lunch for 12.30. Very popular place as the bar was full with people waiting to pay in advance for the carvery. There was a choice of 1, 2 or 3 slices of meat, very reasonably priced. Shown to our table by a very polite young man and told we just had to wait for the nod from the chef. There was a very big table of 14 in front of us so we had to wait until they all filled their plates, and we're still waiting for the nod at 13.10. I wouldn't have minded so much but did see one couple jump the queue not waiting to be told when to go. However, this was my only complaint, the meal in itself was excellent, very generous slices of meat, lovely roast potatoes, carrots, swede, cabbage, broccoli, excellent cauliflower cheese, roasted carrots and parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing. Next time we will bring son, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter and if there is a long wait again at least we can make use of the excellent soft play area right next to the dining room. Would definitely recommend despite long wait, our young waiter was very apologetic expanding the long wait was because chef was waiting for extra roast potatoes , at least the food was cooked fresh.

The restaurant was clean and airy and was a lovely atmosphere and clearly has built up a local trade as staff seemed to know what customers were about to order which is a great sign. The food was lovely and got a big thumbs up from my three fussy children. There was absolutely no problem with children's size puds and the children's carvery was great value too. Sun Valley Caravan Park has a lovely Restaurant that does an excellent Sunday Carvery, this is a new venture and they really deserve a visit. The food was excellent with three choices of roast meat, the vegetables were cooked (not just shown the hot water), the roasted vegetables were cooked to perfection. The only "down" comment I can make is that the food could be a little hotter, it got cold fairly quickly, but it was excellent and it was an enjoyable visit.
