Lack of attention, service was poor, we had to remind them we’ve ordered a bottle of wine (they forgot) no attention to anyone at all, customer service lacking which meant there was little atmosphere. If the staff spoke more and asked “was the food ok, or can we get you anything else” might have added to an otherwise average experience. We asked if we could sit next to the window, we were told no that table is booked, yes the couple who came later were asked “where would you like to sit, guess what, they had the table we asked to sit at” it wasn’t reserved then!!. The nibbles were bland. Deserts disappointing. Mains nice but over priced. Will I return (no). Shame. Improve your customer attentiveness, talk and interact, these add to the experience.

We’ve been here a couple of times now, and the consistency has always been top notch. Staff and owners are friendly, engaging but not over the top and intrusive, all very well educated on the menu and with the Catch of the day. Good selection of food and beverages with a good wine of the week/month selection on a chalk board. Decor is nice however could do with a touch up on the paint in some areas, the swing door into the kitchen could do with a polish too, but they’re all such minor things. The food is really good along with the temperature of the food too, you often find you can have the most fantastic food but where it’s taken a while to plate, it’s all gone cold/lukewarm by the time it gets to you, not here! It’s all piping hot, which is nice. Their burger is fantastic, very very rich but I really like the fact that it’s a little bit different from everyone else’s and not a smash burger however, it’s a slice of tomato away from being perfect, maybe a nice slice of a heirloom buffalo would do the trick, just enough natural fresh acidity to cut through the richness making the burger a lot easier to eat, but maybe that’s just my taste. All in all, a fantastic experience on ever occasion we have been and we look forward to returning again soon!

My wife and I reserved a table at the restaurant 'Catch' in Ryde, for lunch on Friday 16 August. Oh what a disappointment - with a name like 'Catch' we were hoping for a fish delight; but only two types of fish were available, and was informed that these could only be served on the bone, complete with head etc., My wife therefore ordered a small plate of Moules Marinière, followed by a small Chicken Skewer. A third of the muscles arrived so tightly closed, that they were impossible to open. The dish was removed, and only one was still firmly closed, when returned to the table. My wife's second dish was a Chicken Skewer, which she had to abandon, as it was so extremely tough and dry. that even a steak knife would have made little impact. Worse was yet to come - about two hours later, after returning home; my wife started to feel very unwell, and this was shortly followed by an enormous amount of vomiting, which was clearly the rejection of her lunch. She only drank water with her lunch, and not had anything else that afternoon. Furthermore; she dines out at restaurants at least twice each week, and had not been subjected to such a totally unacceptable experience, for many decades. I trust immediate steps will be taken to ensure that no future patron is ever subjected to a similar disastrous experience.

Very small portions compared to the price you pay. Ordered small portion of mussels, 6 mussels served in total, one was inedible because closed. This was served with one slice of bread. Table next to us ordered the same, served with two slices of bread.

The best restaurant on the IOW. Great location, Excellent well presented food, great atmosphere, lovely efficient staff who go the extra mile to ensure you have a good experience. Small menu focusing on Fish and Seafood but enough other options to cater for most tastes. The Triple Cheese Soufflé, Chicken Satay, Mussel and Prawn Linguine and Duck Salad are absolutely superb. Good kids menu as well. Highly recommended.

Booked Catch well in advance for our holiday in Isle of Wight. Had high hopes but unfortunately it is a let down. Catch feels more like a bar than a restaurant. We arrived at 18:00 sharp. When we arrived, there were already two groups of people sitting on the balcony. One group with 3 people and another group with about 8. Waitresses were busy serving drinks and food to them. We ordered and waited almost 50 mins to get our food. Appreciate there were people before us but it felt like there was only one cooking pan or a small oven in the kitchen so each person's food was cooked one after the others. Even for the group of 8 people their food were served one at a time with gap in the middle. We felt being so depriortised and I welcomed because we didn't want to order any cocktails nor alcohol. As a family with a 8 years old it didn't feel to us at all family friendly. I ordered the grill of catch of the day (plaice). The food was nice and delicate. My husband and our 8 years old both ordered the bone marrow burger. Unfortunately the burgers were so salty and peppery! It felt like they added a whole bottle of salt and pepper into one burger hence can only give 3 star to the food. Food is very pricey but totally not worth it. We could smell strong cigarette smell coming from the balcony as well. It is so unpleasant. Don't know how Catch get their rating (4.5 as of 26.07.24) on Google! Such a let down!

Catch at Ryde on the Isle of Wight is a truly delightful restaurant with a charming nautical theme. The starters were absolutely phenomenal! We enjoyed the super tender seared tuna, delicious chicken satay, and crispy squid – all of which were a perfect 10/10! The main courses were also impressive, although the starters truly stole the show. We tried the marrow burger, which was tasty but a tad dry and very savoury. The Caesar salad with chicken was good, but not particularly standout. The linguine with mussels and prawns was flavorful, though after a few bites it was a bit too salty and rich to finish on my own. My favourite main dish was the steak – it was incredibly tender, beautifully seared, and perfectly cooked. The flavour was so exquisite, it made me close my eyes in delight with every bite. Overall, we loved our experience at Catch and highly recommend it!

Such a lovely seadide setting and the staff make you feel very welcome and at home. It's also a dog freindly establishment which makes a nice change. The food is some of the best food I've ever eaten! Overall I'd give this 6/5 stars if I could! Will definitely be going back asap!

A little gem of a place. Lovely location overlooking the beach and the staff were very incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was very well presented and looked fantastic. The mains tasted very good, maybe not quite as good as they looked but still very good. The desert however was absolutely excellent. All in all definitely worth a visit, we had a great time and the kids were able to play on the beach opposite whilst we waited for our food. We would certainly come again.

Food was great. We had lobster, chicken goujons, fish gingers and catch of the day. My 7year old said the fish was amazing and wished she could have more!! The portions are good size so couldn’t possibly have eaten anymore. Staff were lovely, helpful, knowledgeable & all the ladies had no problem answering our questions. Nice spot and atmosphere of diners and servers is fantastic

Lovely venue but the food bland and overpriced. Chicken Kiev was grim and wasn't actually a Kiev just a lump of flavourless chicken. Fish pie was tasteless and tiny. Would only go there for a drink. The Duck down the road is much better.

Our first time dining at Catch and it certainly will not be our last. Fantastic food from the new Autumn menu enjoyed by all four of us. All four dishes were expertly presented and tasted excellent. The service by India and Elenor was friendly and professional and of course the views are superb. Certainly looking forward to the introduction of the Sunday lunches. Being walking distant from home makes it even more appealing for an extra glass or two! Well done ,Ben and Nikita, for opening this lovely restaurant.

Absolutely the best mussels I have ever had in my life. Creamy, plump, fresh straight out from the ocean. Unforgettable meal. Friendly staff and great sunset views. Also, super value for money. Half the price you would spend for a meal in London.

The food is really good, reasonable prices with an amazing view. Friendly staff. We really enjoyed our time here. The only thing that could be improved is the music. We were there at 6 pm for dinner and the music they were playing would be more appropriate for a beach club. Otherwise would highly recommend!

The location for the hotel is really good. It is next to a river, the river was a bit dry when I went. I really like the rooms for premier inn, the hotels rooms and cleanliness and very good and the value for money is incredible. We had a very good sleep and breakfast from the nearby beef eater restaurant. Beef eater provides meals to hotel guests. There is ample parking close to the hotel.

Fantastic location fronting the beach and listening to the crashing waves. Lovely ambience in the restaurant with prefect lighting and background music. The staff were friendly and efficient, although it was not table service. Order up at the bar. The food was outstanding, we had a selection of tapas which we shared, and the IoW cheese meze. All of which were really delicious. We would highly recommend The Met and will definitely return. The only thing which spoilt it were a noisy group who were loud and swearing a lot. I felt the staff should have asked them to just limit their language and noise as a family were sat close by, and it appeared as though they were either regulars or knew the staff.

We have visited twice this week. What a delightful cafe. The staff could not have been more helpful regarding our complex dietary requirements. My grandson deemed his meal deeelicious - quite something for him! We all really enjoyed our food. The restaurant was spotless. A previous review quoted dirty toilets. That was absolutely not my experience. I actually reported to my daughter that they were so clean that it was a good judge of overall cleanliness, including the kitchen. We enjoyed it so much that we returned having found a cash point, to leave a nice tip for the staff. Highly recommend this cafe.
