We have eaten many times at Castle Break and have always found the food very good quality and reasonably priced. Nice relaxing place to have a good meal and a nice setting.

Rockbeare Manor is truly a standout wedding venue. From the moment you step onto the property, you’re surrounded by beauty and charm. The getting ready space is an absolute dream, offering plenty of natural light and a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere for those special moments before the ceremony. The manor house itself is stunning, with its historic architecture and luxurious feel. The grounds are equally impressive, providing a variety of picturesque spots for photographs, and if you’re lucky enough to catch a sunset, it’s nothing short of spectacular. The staff at Rockbeare Manor are exceptional – always friendly, professional, and dedicated to ensuring your day runs flawlessly. The food is delicious, and every aspect of the day is carefully thought out, so everything runs like clockwork. If you’re looking for a venue that combines elegance, beautiful surroundings, and a seamless experience, Rockbeare Manor is an outstanding choice for your wedding day.

I went there with two housemates from my nearby home, and had a berry fruit tea with a malt loaf tea-bread.

This is out 3rd visit to Sandymouth. We spent Christmas week here and also came in Feb half term. The accommodation is lovely the place was warm even in a storm and also clean The staff couldn't be more helpful.. The food in the cafe/restaurant is what you would expect at the price. Portions sizes are good. The pool is small and the changing facilities need some love but in the winter it's quiet and we often had the pool practically to ourselves. Heads up though in the Feb half term the sessions booked up so quickly we didn't get one swim so worth booking asap. Also we booked several kids activities. Some are for groups and in the dead of winter don't run if there isn't a big enough group but those that did run were fun and gave me (single parent) a break while I sat close by and drank a coffee. The staff are enthusiastic and seemed to enjoy running the sessions even if there was only my child. I certainly couldn't imagine enjoying this site at the height of the summer, even in Feb it was as busy as I can manage. But if you don't mind that then it's a great option for a family holiday.

We have just enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal here. The flavour of the creamy garlic mushrooms was so rich and almost meaty, the broccoli soup was lovely and we both enjoyed the liver with creamy mash and lots of nice fresh vegetables. Lynne was friendly and attentive and Andy is an accomplished chef. We would definitely return.
