Castle Beach Cafe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Good coffee, limited seating and no pasties so we went elsewhere for something to eat. Great location right on the beach.

We have had lunch here four times during our weeks holiday in Falmouth. Toasties, fresh sandwich’s salads, pasties homemade cakes, plus excellent ice creams. Our dog loves the beach lots of rock pools to discover when the tide recedes, there is a ban on dogs between 10-6 during the children summer holiday's but other times they can enjoy freedom. The cafe has some covered seating and of course a beach to sit on! food is made to order and it also has an excellent coffee machine. It is a very good place to wile away a few hours.

Fabulous cafe and now serving healthy and tasty food. Love the flowers and tables and benches - thank you for your thoughtful finishing touches. Please could you ask whoever manages beach huts to talk to last hut on far right - they often have their chairs so far out that it is very dangerous for pushchairs and disabled to get past without falling off the pier. Also they take the space to right of them by placing a large tarquins umbrella (even when not using it)- this space could be used by others when they don’t have visitors. The beach is busy now and should be available to all please.

A great little cafe serving toasties, salads, cakes, ice creams, coffees, smoothies in a great location where you can sit and watch the world go by listening to the waves lapping the beach.

Have been a few times and always had a great experience, foods always lovely and so is the coffee, and staff are too, I'll be back soon x x

This is a fabulous, friendly & popular cafe, the food served is fresh & very tasty. Will be going back again & again. The view is amazing too, no matter the weather.

Everything about this cafe is 5 star. The owner n staff are friendly, happy and give back to the locals so much. Free summer music events, egg hunts for kids, blankets, hot water bottles and so much more. The delicious food (toasties are locally legendary) great drinks and sheltered area to sit all make this the best beach cafe.

Great snack menu catering for all tastes. We had a ham and Emmental toasty and have had other snacks before. They manage a busy queue very quickly and have plenty of outdoor partly sheltered seating

The toasties are always fantastic. So tasty and well filled. The Italian hot chocolate is the best hot chocolate i can find anywhere. The view out on to the beach and sea is like nothing else. Staff always so friendly. Well worth a visit!

Lovely toasted sandwich, daily special with salami and cream cheese. There was a bit of a wait as it was busy and we were grateful for the sheltered seating area as it was a chilly day

We grabbed a couple of Americanos and two Italian hot chocolates. Coffees were up to scratch and the hot chocolates were, and I quote, the best we’d all tasted

Great little cafe fair prices and friendly young staff . BUT the ignorance of the beach hut tenants totally dominate the quay area and are causing a health and safety risk to the old and young children . Greedy people claiming as much room as possible and leaving very little room for elderly and children trying to get to the public toilets and steps to exit beach . This will destroy what could be a great experience!!!!

Fantastic tomato soup and toasted sourdough, very reasonably priced, would highly recommend. Friendly staff.

Lovely little cafe on the back of the beach - pasties were warm and tasty and a very nice selection of cakes. A great place to visit if you are on the beach or just walking the coast path.

I visited Falmouth with family in July, and enjoyed some lovely food here! The Kinder Bueno brownies were the best brownies I've ever had, and the toastie was absolutely delicious as well. Lovely welcoming staff, beautiful location, incredible food - will definitely be visiting again next time we holiday in Falmouth!

In One Word - Brilliant. I admit to living in Falmouth and visiting frequently but Castle Beach Cafe just seems to get better and better. Todays visit was with my son and daughter-in-law for coffee, sandwiches and cake. The coffee, panini and ham sandwich were made to order and delicious, the cake superb. All served by happy, smiling staff who seem never to lose their enthusiasm, customer first service and their smiles. Where better to sit than on the benches in a little shade eating great food and enjoying good coffee.

Visited here yesterday and wow, what a place. Lovely cafe on a gorgeous beach. After swimming we tried the delicious sour dough toasties which were very yummy and filling. Stayed the day and had coffee and cake to finish. Run by a lovel young lady with very attentive and polite team. Apparently it is her first year of trading....you wouldn't know it! Will definatly be visiting again for yummy food and outstanding service.

Friendly staff, reasonable prices! Great location- which we stumbled across purely by chance. Would 100% come here again. Was fortunate to be there last night and they had a DJ set on the beach as well as a wood fired pizza over- a fabulous evening

Stopped off here in camper yesterday evening, free roadside parking, wood fired pizza and DJ playing chill out set. Perfect summers evening. Stayed the night and went down to Cafe for coffee in thr morning, staff are friendly and food and drinks are very reasonable despite location.

After shopping in town I thought I will go round castle drive, have a coffee then home. Called in here, had a lovely coffee served by a very nice girl and also had a very generous sized slice of strawberry and white chocolate bread cake. It was lovely. Some places give a postage sized piece of cake and charge a fortune for it, but here the cake is well worth paying for. It is in an amazing trading position and sitting outside in the sun was great. I could become quite a regular here and try out items from the great looking menu. 😊

I visited this cafe for the first time this year and I was not disappointed, the bacon brie and cranberry toastie was so yummy with a decent amount of filling (I went back for another one a week later!) and the salted caramel brownie was so rich and filling. Lots of other options for cakes and toasties, nice to see a range of vegan options to ☺️

Great little cafe run by a friendly young woman who bakes amazing cakes ( and everything else looked good too!). I sat sheltered from the wind with a wonderful view. Perfect.

This is a lovely little cafe with a very nice range of food and drink, including a decent flat white! Cakes are excellent and a decent variety as well. Good seating and social distancing evident. Great views across the bay .

This was one of our holiday treasures.. Stopped for take-out coffee, cake and milkshakes, whilst walking the dog. The coffee was the best I'd had all week and the above mentioned homemade cake was mouth watering. Served from the loveliest, friendliest people. Sat watching the...

Out for a drive & saw this was open. Bright October day. Egg mayo sandwiches were delicious & lovely view. No tables out at moment but chairs available if needed

Very convenient little cafe with hot drinks, ice creams, cakes and snacks. Their gluten free lemon polenta cake was delicious! Service was a little slow but definitely worth the wait.

After a long walk around Castle point with friends we stopped at The Castle Beach Café, where we received great service and the ice-creams we stopped for were absolutely delicious 🍦

We stopped here for lunch while exploring Falmouth. Very friendly service with clear social distancing practices. Enjoyed our sandwiches and drinks overlooking the beautiful Castle Beach. Returned later for an ice cream!

Lovely little beach for our son to look through the rockpools or at low tide play in the sand. The cafe is tiny but lovely, the pastys are really, really good and it's fantastic sitting on the wall with an ice cream in the sunshine.

Great news! The cafe is open again for the summer season. Looking very smart and ready for business. I had a healthy sandwich packed full of goodness, which was freshly made and delicious.

Stunning view and at least when I was there not busy at all. Perfect to take a break and read a bit. Or just enjoy the Sea. Even at low tide, there are quite some waves.The menu of the cafe is limited, you get snacks and a daily meal. It does not seem run-off-the-mill, however. The cafe is on the coastal path, so if you like to talk a little walk, go from Falmouth docks around the castle along the coastal path. The view is great and it is an easy walk.

Gone are cheesy chips!! Now healthy options, homemade soup, superb tuna/cheese melt on sourdough roll (dreams are made of this). Fab ice cream (try mint choc crisp). Gorgeous coconut ice pots. And to top it all really great coffee. Free tap water. Love this place and hope it thrives.

This is a gem of a place - perfect for light snacks & drinks. Superb location, well staffed & helpful employees.Recommend trying this as its right on the beach and is well maintained with great views.You probably need to be a dog lover as th ebeach is full of owners walking their dogs so not ideal for toddlers

Had a flat white and gluten free raspberry and pistachio cake, my partner had strawberries and cream ice cream. Coffee was great cake was very tasty and the ice cream was great.

We were out walking in Falmouth and decided to stop & take in the view, located right on the beach, great coffee & cake with amazing views, We will be back!

Great spot to explore Falmouth beach from. First class coffee, and lots of well made, healthy options on the menu. New owners making a real improvement to the cafe- will definitely be back for some more of the dairy free ice cream.

Had a lovely time at the cafe today. They even have dairy free ice-cream for the lactose intolerant kids/vegans ect. Lovely location on the beach. Couldn’t have asked for more!

We chanced on this gem on a blustery day but were sheltered from the wind in the outdoor covered seating. Hot Cornish pasties, delicious coffee and homemade cakes hit the spot. Top tip - the cherry shortbread is not a looker but tastes gorgeous

Absolutely love this place, such friendly service, great prices and brilliant atmosphere. Such an improvement from previous owners. It’s a must go!

We stopped here today and had a lovely coffee, green tea and cake. Lovely view of Falmouth Bay. Good friendly service. The new owners have certainly made this somewhere we will be stopping on a regular basis.

We went there for coffee around lunchtime and ended up being seduced by the cake as well. The atmosphere was really buzzing and the meals that were being served looked superb. Having surveyed the menu they were great value for money as well. We will certainly revisit in the future.

Popped in for some chips. £2 for the smallest most flavourless chips I've ever had. Total joke. Tables were filthy. Perhaps give them a wipe down some time.

Great icecreams, they even do a fudge stick if you request instead of a flake"! I will always come here!

Visitamos este pequeño y encantador café esta mañana. Tenía un gran sándwich de salchichas, tocino y huevo. . . Hermosas vistas, un lugar realmente tranquilo para sentarse y relajarse, la comida estaba recién hecha, muy caliente y sabrosa, y el servicio fue muy amable y cordial, y agradeció la costumbre que hizo que la experiencia fuera encantadora. Definitivamente regresaremos antes de que cierre al final de la temporada. No puedo esperar para ir allí en un día frío y ventoso, tomar un chocolate caliente y disfrutar de las vistas al mar! ¡Te veo de nuevo pronto!

Fab little beach cafe, ice creams to fishing nets, coffee to pizza, for a small seaside cafe this place offers quite a bit and the staff are lovely.

Sirve bebidas, helados, comida y tentempiés. A veces puede estar ocupado ya que es una playa ideal para la puesta en común de rocas. Hay muchos asientos disponibles. También puede comprar libros de segunda mano para ir a los botes salvavidas. También hay cabañas de playa pintadas de vivos colores para alquilar.

Castle Beach Cafe es un lugar fantástico para tomar un tentempié. Está dirigido por Steve y su esposa Jane también trabaja allí. Son muy amables y serviciales. Saltamos varias veces por semana. A los niños les encanta, es el lugar perfecto para sentarse y relajarse.

Una ubicación hermosa merece una cafetería en la playa mucho más lujoso. Hay un puñado de lugares en Cornwall que tienen la fórmula de cafetería en la playa justo; este no es uno de ellos, por desgracia.

La señorita que nos servía unas semanas atrás hizo todo lo posible para encontrarnos una mesa cuando los demás estaban ocupadas. Ella era muy presentable, amable y alegre. El café y el té eran de muy buen nivel, así como el tostado teacake. En general una excelente experiencia y esperamos volver.

We arrived early at Falmouth and opted to eat breakfast at this cafe right on the beach. Very good food, reasonably priced, served by a very friendly owner/cook. Earl Grey tea was even available which I love. Recommended.

Castle Beach Cafe is a very nice place to sit down to enjoy a snack, a drink or icecream. You are at the beach without sand on your feet and have a unique view of Pendennis Castle. It's a lovely place for all sea watching lovers.

the food was great! served by a really nice young man and my food was cooked to perfection in under 5 minutes!

The Owner's son was a charming young man. He cooked a Michelin star meal of Pasty and Chips. I eat here whenever i can for the good value for money. They make a mean strawberry milkshake!

Nice coffee and have had a good baked potato lunch. It's a simple and nice place, right on the beach.

This small cafe was damaged in recent storms last year but it has been rebuilt and is a valued and useful supplier of quick bites and the usual staples for a good day on the beach. It serves beach type eats and isn't pretentious. It is reasonably priced but, I agree with a previous review, the tables are never free. Families arrive early and bag their site for the whole day. No one seems concerned about this, except me! If the weather is fine you will have to arrive early if you wish to eat at a table but the hard standing area has been increased so you don't have to sit on the sand.

This cafe is in a lovely position and is well used by locals but not enough variety of food and always very crowded with people hogging tables.

Ordered a Hot Chocolate, and a strawberry Milkshake, both were absolutely disgusting.The Hot Chocolate was made by the man serving, but it should be renamed ''Cold and more water like Chocolate'' and was more froth than anything else.The man's son who couldn't of been any older than 14 made the Strawberry Milkshake which didn't have a Strawberry taste and wasn't even pink. The boy kept asking the man (Father?) for amounts, but all the man done was to put a small amount of the milkshake mixture in with Whippy soft ice cream.Once the young boy finished ''playing'' with the mixture in mixer, more time was wasted when he argued with the man what cup should be used. Once that was finally decided, the boy then went on to ''play'' with the Milkshake by grabbing the top of the straw, and stirring constantly around. Which isn't hygienic as that was the same straw given to us to drink through.It took several attempts of me telling them to hand the drinks overs before both the man and the boy did, but now I wished that they had kept them.Both drinks tasted absolutely vile. The only thing that I would recommend to people about this cafe is to stay away. Would mark this as a zero or below rating if possible, but the lowest I can do on this is a one.

Nice choice of different seating areas, outside balcony was understandably packed, but plenty of seats inside and to the side. Good service, food. Will definately be back. Breakfast was delicious.

Lovely location - such a shame they are not better organised. Was there this weekend, queued for about half an hour to be told a panini would be another half an hour. Asked for the quickest sandwich they could do - which turned out to be two piece of cheap supermarket bread with some tuna inside that tasted like catfood. No salad, no butter even... urgh. Gave it to the seagulls.

Had a lovely cup of tea - teapot was large so had more than 1 cup - also had a bun - sat watching people on the beach or looking out to sea - would recommend going here

We were so thrilled that the cafe had reopened at last...such a shame they haven't taken this opportunity to improve the quality of food or suppliers? Why do they sell microwaved 'pasties' that come from BODMIN? And are awful! The only thing we'll be buying in future is the coffee which is very good! Please review what your doing as we're not the only disappointed locals:-(

This cafe has just reopened and my first visit was disappointing. Similar prices to Gylly beach cafe but nowhere near the quality or the customer service. I know where I will be going in the future !

Great to see cafe up and running again. Lovely modern gleaming kitchen with more room for the staff to work. Oh and a very tasty cheeseburger and cuppa served with a smile.
