Castello Cafe Bar Restaurant in Bury

On behalf of the Birtle Trust I would like to thank Castellos for making our annual dinner so enjoyable with such delicious food and friendly staff. If you have never been I can highly recommend this lovely Italian restaurant in Bury with a good choice of menu and its own private car park to the rear.

We usually have a pizza or pasta but tonight we chose Chicken and Steak .Wow this was fabulous everything was spot on. The food really is amazing here especially the homemade cheesecake .Staff are lovely and allow you to take your time and enjoy your food ❤️🍾

We had a beautiful night. The food was absolutely incredible I shared a split garlic bread starter and had the lasagne main which I would highly recommend. The staff are very warm, friendly and you definitely get the feeling of a family run business . We will most definitely be coming back again and thank you so much for a lovely night.

Certainly amongst the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food is always really nice and fresh, and the staff and atmosphere are great too. Highly recommend

Amazing place. We have never had a bad meal here. Staff are amazing, nice warm and calm feel to the place. The staff are amazing with my young son, he loves them and they always give him so much attention! 10/10 I would 100% recommend :)

Another excellent meal. The food and services is always top notch. There’s parking to the rear if you’re driving, Restaurant is always spotless, and the family that own Castello are so welcoming . Would definitely recommend.

Family run business. Smells AMAZING in there, really cosy atmosphere. Staff are so lovely and attentive, yet not imposing. When I say the food is unreal, I mean it's UNREAL. Well priced, great taste, good portions. 100% recommend, again and again and again! Has free parking and also sometimes live acts. Give it a go, you won't regret it

It’s difficult to articulate how wonderful this restaurant is. All our choices were delicious. Two of us had the Steak with Peppercorn Sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection and tasted sublime. The service was excellent and prices were very reasonable. You must try it, you will not regret it

This is my best place to eat, honestly the food is to die for! The service is brilliant and the atmosphere is great, it’s mine and my partners perfect place for date night.

Such a lovely place, all the staff are amazing and friendly. You can tell it’s a family run restaurant and they all take pride in the food and service. All our dishes were amazing and we finished everyone! My favourite was the affogato. Thank you.

We’ve been to Castello several times and tonight brought the whole family for my daughter’s birthday meal. As always at Castello, the food was delicious and the staff couldn’t be nicer and more helpful! Every starter, main course and dessert for our table of ten was faultless - everybody loved it and will definitely be back!

Your experience is their number one priority. The quality of the food is second to none. From fillet steak to pizza and pasta, everything is freshly prepared and cooked to perfection, presented with a flair you would expect in any high-end restaurant. Castello is our favourite Italian restaurant, and for good reason, you will not be disappointed.

Nice lunch menu, good service and food.

The food was very good, the two youngsters front of house were exceptional, the whole place, even the outside rear area is immaculate, we will be back.

I love this restaurant, so chose it to celebrate a significant birthday. The food and service never disappoints, and all my family enjoyed their food. The main lady is always so lovely and cheery and helpful. The cost of the food is also quite reasonable, as are the drink prices. All the food I had was delicious (the cheese starter, ravioli main and tiramisu dessert) thus I would recommend these dishes. The only slight issue we encountered was at the end when there was a mix up with the bill, however it was easily resolved with an email afterwards and I don't think the restaurant intentionally made the error. I look forward to going again. There is a lovely outside area at the back for a sunny day.

This is a hidden gem of a cafe bar / restaurant. Family run and well worth a visit

I visited Castello for the first time to celebrate Mother's day, albeit a week late. From the moment we entered the bright and airy restaurant we were welcomed with a big smile and the waitress instantly recognised my mum making us feel very much at home. The attentive but friendly, relaxed service continued throughout the meal. We had the 3 course Sunday roast lunch which was delicious and very good value. (I can recommend the home-maid chicken liver pate). We also appreciated the car-park just behind the building; Castello isn't far from Fairfield hospital. I can heartily recommend this family run restaurant and look forward to returning to try some of the other Italian dishes.

We visited Castello with our daughter for Sunday lunch in March 2024. The Sunday lunch was beautifully cooked, well presented and tasted delicious, and the warm welcome which we received equalled it. Castello is family run with a warm and friendly atmosphere . There is car parking at the rear and the restaurant is on a bus route, which is ideal for anyone without their own transport. Great value for money. Thankyou to you all for making us feel so welcome.

Castello....what an incredible place.to celebrate my 50th birthday. We are so lucky to have this little gem so close to where we live. There were over 20 of us in the restaurant and each guest had only compliments for the food we were served. The staff were attentive and able to deal with any request we asked of them. 4 of our party had dietary requirements and the Chefs were able to accommodate our requests with ease, therefore making this occasion one that could be enjoyed by all. If you're coeliac rest assured Castello has you covered. If you're vegan, the fudge cake desert was highly praised. If you're in the area give this gem of a restaurant a try. You'll not be disappointed ❤️

Four of us went for Sunday Lunch, the staff were all extremely welcoming and the food was excellent and well presented. Good menu choice from Italian dishes to traditional Sunday English Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding with lovely desserts. Great value and a lovely way to start the new year with friends. The restaurant is very clean, warm and comfortable and highly recommended. Thankyou to everyone.

A good restaurant for a visitor from London. Homely, attentive servers and good coffee. My choice was the Porcini Mushroom Gnocchi which has a lovely sauce, and spinach. It wasn't overowering and the potato wa sperfectly formed into the Gnocchi Shells Felt really Christmassy as I went on a Cold December evening. The music added to the atmosphere and I left feeling full and the price was reasonable.

This is a small family run Cafe Bar/restaurant. They have an excellent and modestly priced Menu for all tastes. The food is very good as is the service and price. Go and try it, you will not be dissapointed.

We came here on a Wednesday evening for some dinner. What a gem!! The food was absolutely delicious- one of the best pizzas I’ve had for a while. My partner had a salmon pasta dish which was also incredible. The staff were lovely and attentive and created such a warm atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back soon

We had a lovely dining experience on Friday the 15th of September. We enjoyed calamari and ribs for starters, lasagne and eye fillet for our main course and finishing with delicious profiteroles. Our food was well cooked, fresh and extremely tasty. We received warm and friendly service from arrival to leaving. Highly recommend this lovely family owned and operated restaurant.

Can’t believe I haven’t been here before. I am a coffee lover and the cappuccino was amazing. The family are really nice and the place has a nice warm vibe to it! Thanks Fiona and Claudia.

Food was very nice, what there was of it, I had a steak with peppercorn sauce and that is Literally what I got a steak with 9 chips and nothing else, no mushrooms no veg just a steak with 9 chips, my son had the salmon fillet and the meal would not have filled a 10 year old and he's 50.

I would 100% Recommend it. The food is delicious, the service outstanding & the surroundings beautiful. We have visited several times now & there is never a deviation in quality or service. Satisfaction is guaranteed.

We've been many times now and tonight was for my birthday celebration. The food as usual was delicious, sevice was friendly and attentive, tonight I had the best steak of my life!!

Fantastic, consistently high quality food (I think I’ve tried every pasta dish on the menu). The Tiramisu is out of this world! Extremely professional, welcoming and attentive staff, I can’t praise this establishment enough since it opened, in my opinion the best Italian in Bury.

Myself, My Son and his Partner took my parents here for a meal today. And I was amazed at the Sunday lunch menu. Its wasn't just the the normal Sunday roast, there were other options too, I went for the Steak (best steak I have had to be fair, cooked to perfection). My son had a risotto. Value for money is spot on. Service was brilliant. What a lovely family run restaurant! If I didn't live 70 miles away I would be here every week. Highly recommended !

Honestly the best meal I’ve had in ages! I had the lasagna and my husband had chicken and mushrooms in a creamy white wine sauce, both fantastic! As were the garlic bread and cheese and the roasted vegetables. If you’re in the area and looking for amazing food this is the place to go, you won’t be disappointed 👍

We decided to try this place after seeing it on our way back from Fairfield Hospital. The food was gorgeous the main dishes could just be a bit bigger. Service was great. What a nice building and interior.

I really can't speak highly enough about this family owned Italian restaurant. The food is of exceptional quality and is plentiful. The wine is good quality and is good value. Nothing is too much trouble for the 3 lovely young women and young man. All daughters and son of the owners. The music playlist is excellent and is just on in the background allowing diners to speak to each other. The decor is modern and very pleasant. All in all another wonderful visit to Castello and it definitely will not be our last. Thank you all for a lovely evening. Melody

Friendly family run restaurant, authentic cooked Italian food but they do offer some non Italian food alternatives for guests who don't eat Italian. Reasonably priced and food always cooked to perfection. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Dined here for the first time, very nice and comfortable place, ok food and drinks menu and ok priced, the stand out was the excellent and friendly service, top class, the food was good quality but portion of the mains was small really on both dishes, steak accompaniments were very limited and pasta dish was starter size. It’s not far off being a great place but just need to push the boat out a bit in the food.

This was our first visit to Castello but it certainly will not be our last. Excellent food and drink. Delightful young lady serving us (daughter of the owners) a real credit to the restaurant. Beautiful environment. Nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait to go back very soon. To the people who reserved a table for 8 people who didn't show and didn't call - shame on you. You were the losers!

Following a recommendation our first visit here.Table for 6 to celebrate our grandsons Birthday.We had a wonderful evening,the food was fantastic and the Staff excellent.Apart from us there were only 2 other people in,which is a shame,this place is really good.It didn"t spoil our evening at all and we will definitely return

This is our favourite Italian and we just love coming here and have always enjoyed our meals. The ambience is lovely and the staff are so friendly and make such an effort. The Italian food is very authentic and the wine is top notch. There isn't really much more to say and no doubt we'll be back in the future! I tried their lobster ravioli this time which I would recommend. Delicious.

I had a spaghetti puttenesca. It looked nice. But I think they used pickled anchovies. You could taste the vinegar and no capers.

Though I have lived in Bury many years and regularly drive past Castello, this was my first visit. The service was excellent and the food devine. Our party had a wonderful time - thank you. We will certainly be back.

During my visit Manchester, this was definitely a highlight of my trip! I had the best food in this family restaurant, and you could really feel the family atmosphere there, it was amazing!

I was in a business trip with some colleagues, we got a great experience, we had different dishes I got the castello pizza which was really good, the service was very good.

My partner and I had a meal at Castello and it did not disappoint! I had the lobster ravioli which was amazing with the fried brie as a starter. My partner had the mushroom risotto and bruschetta. All the food was so fresh and the portion sizes were great. The staff were lovely. Shout out to Klaudia who was so helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in. Lovely welcoming atmosphere. What a great family restaurant!! We will definitely go back to try their pizzas!

The food portions were very small my wife could not eat her meal it was to greasy fish and chips with purie mushy peas I had roast lamb Sunday lunch and could not find the potatoes they 4 halves of new potatoes fried on one side were underneath 2 slices of tastless lamb very over priced for what we got if they carry on like this they won't be around much longer.Never again.

Family run and so lovely...work at the hospital so I have been a regular for a while now. The food is exceptional.
