Just a great place to go for food. The staff greet and treat you like family - family that they like :) Food is always hot and tasty. Brilliant prices and a great atmosphere. Our go to place for comfort food.

Had the best restaurant meal I’ve had in a long time. I had the 3 course evening special for £17.95, which included the fish platter. It was yummy! Fillet of sea bass, fillet of salmon, squid and a ton of mussels, in a lovely lemon and garlic sauce. With that, a starter, a main, a pizza, another dessert, bottle of wine and 2 cocktails, for three of us, the bill was £71. Outstanding!

Dropped in for lunch never been for a while. Staff warm and welcoming quick service though not rushed. Best portion size of all the Sambucas we have visited. Couldn't finish my pizza that's not like me The calzone was filled with filling normally it deflates this one didn't filling came brimming out. Will be back

A lovely location on the Fish Quay in North Shields near nice bars etc. Reasonably priced good food, quick, efficient service provided by friendly staff.

Stopped off here at Cassia Sambuca before our Ferry to Amsterdam. Was initially going to get part of the 2 course menu which looked great value. However, opted for the Cajun Smash Burger. As you can see from the photo the burger was huge. Very juicy meat and great contents within the burger. Chunky Chips were also delightful and the sauce that came with them was to die for. Would definitely go back to Cassia Sambuca due to the high quality food, friendly staff and price of the food and drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

We went on a Thursday evening in August and the place was busy. The food was delicious. We could not decide what to order so pretty much ordered everything we liked the sound of. The drinks were done perfectly starting with an aperitif. So much care and effort has been put into every aspect of the restaurant.

We had just finished the challenge and we’re starving. Hadn’t booked but managed to fit 9 of us in. 3 course Sunday lunch £12 was fantastic, every single course was great. Very friendly! Can’t go wrong here, will visit again

You can never fault the food or service at this restaurant. The staff greet and treat you like family, family that you like! The food is always lovely, hot and delicious. The prices are fantastic too.

We had a lovely family meal here over the holidays. We opted for the lunchtime menu and it didn’t disappoint. It was really good food, and great value for money. I loved that there were plenty of gluten free options, and that I was able to get a pizza. We will definitely be back again.

We visited in between Christmas & New Year as a family of 8, the service was great - the food came out very quickly and each dish was delicious! Excellent quality and very tasty. We will definitely return.

Food was awful: from set lunch menu. Potato skins were greasy fritters on a bed of mayonnaise; Cannelloni was grim serving of overcooked barely warm pasta & grey mince topped with a boiling hot cheese/tomato substance. Yuk! Didn’t bother with dessert - just pleased to escape.

Amazing service and amazing food what more can you ask for We walked in and the atmosphere was amazing unlike any other and were greeted more or less straight away and even though we were waiting on the other two people arriving they made sure we had drinks We went for a blueberry sour (I've got to say it was too sour for me; too much lime juice 🤷🏼‍♂️) But the night was amazing when we actually came to the starter the potato skins were crispy and perfectly done as well as the carbonara with tagetelli pasta of course was beautifully done with just the right amount and because I was full I went for an Americano We even made the night and had a bottle of prosecco a glass each (even though I ended up drinking most of it) Ended up a cheap night costing 69.59 which is pretty decent

This is our favourite Sambuca Restaurant. The food is always lovely, piping hot and plenty of it. All of the staff are great, we feel like family when we go there. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The prices are fantastic value for money and the range of dishes is great. Plenty of parking outside and a view of the Fish Quay, great stuff! :)

Ordered the seafood pasta / Tagliatelle. It arrived just warm , which I was disappointed with , but not as annoyed as when I found spaghetti mixed in with the tagliatelle. I had ate about 4 mouthfuls - I’m not really a person who complains...

After raving reviews about the restaurant we decided to head over to try, a massive mistake. Cassia is an ex Ben & Jerrys the seats the most uncomfortable and dated, that’s just the start… Starter passable, both had pate and it was a massive portion....

Food was excellent as usual but not sure drinks prices are right. Just been charged £18.90 for two 3 course specials (£6.95 each) and two small diet cokes. That's £5 for two small soft drinks!

Anyone that has been will know the staff here are just the best you will find anywhere. The food is always great and at a fantastic price too. Always the go to place when fancying a bite to eat in a great atmosphere.

Reserved a table and kept waiting for 15 minutes. Restaurant over booked /over crowded. Staff could not cope with amount of customers. Service was hurried and clumsy. Dirty cutlery. Dirty wine glass. Undercooked potato skins. Spicy beef risotto was over cooked and mushy.

Consistently cheap & cheerful. The good thing about a Sambuca restaurant is that you know what you are going to get. You can’t get vexed for the quality of the food given the price. The staff can be eccentric but this all makes the Sambuca experience. You know what you’re going to get... consistent food & entertained

Cassia Sambuca continues to be one of our favourite restaurants. We recently visited for a meal with friends and Hadi and the whole team are absolutely superb. The ambience and setting is very warm, welcoming and friendly, the service just the right balance of attentiveness without being OTT. The food is just the best combination of superb quality ingredients and recipes that are a good blend of traditional Italian cooking with a contemporary twist. Wine selection is also very good and overall result is just superb. It is not often that you eat out and feel nothing could have been better - but Sambuca achieves that.Every time we visit this restaurant - we feel special, the staff always pays us a lot of attention. And the atmosphere there is incredibly warm and cheerful. Well, celebrations of birthdays should receive special attention, since it is really unforgettable. It is incredibly pleasant when all the staff and each visitor devotes his attention to you and sings for you.I would definitely recommend this amazing Italian restaurant!

£2.50 for a glass of soda water.... you're having a laugh! I don't expect it for free but £2.50 is a joke. Minestrone soup yesterday was so bland and the veg hard we couldn't eat it. The people at next table told us they'd sent theirs back too for same reason. Swapped for potato skins that were greasy and not crispy which also got left on the plate. Which we then noticed had a curly black hair on it. Good points: The service is very good and our pizza/pasta was lovely... thank God

This was our first time here, and we will be back, the food was lovely , the staff are all lovely, it is a very busy restaurant, the pizza was delicious, well worth the price, cant wait to go back again .

Another birthday… another year older! So where better to go on a Saturday than a Sambuca with a few of the family. Bearing in mind it had been raining all day it was quite nice to sit in a warm buzzing typical Sambuca restaurant atmosphere. No one wanted starters so we all went straight for the mains & I got the tastiest Fish Pie I’ve had in ages! It came with lots of mussels on top for décor (refer to photo) & there was an abundance of different types of fish in the pie itself… basa, cod, salmon, etc.My mate got the Pollo in Sambuca tomato sauce – they said it was really juicy chicken & the sauce had the right amount of garlic in… it must’ve been good because there was nothing left on their plate!One of my family members chose the Fish platter from the specials menu. This came with cod, calamari, mussels, prawns & langoustine, served with a side salad & the tastiest creamy tomato sauce – another good sauce fuelled dish (but no garlic this time). I was assured was the best sauce they have ever had in any Sambuca restaurant… high praise indeed! Finally, the one family member who wanted a light dinner chose the starter of Pork belly & Black pudding for their main course & they also thoroughly enjoyed their meal.Sambuca’s is definitely a go to place for a decent meal on the Fish Quay… depending on if you want a cosier atmosphere you can go to Sambuca 1. Or if you like a bit more space between tables I recommend Cassia Sambuca.

We visited cassia sambuca when we were out for a few drinks on the fish quay. We arrived too late for the afternoon special which finished at 5pm, so we all went for the early evening special. Any fillet steak meal with a starter of bruschetta, potato skins or soup, followed by coffee or a tapas desert.

Pop in here for lunch a couple of times a month. Lunchtkme special is unbeatable value in my opinion. Minestrone soup always spot on. Have never had a bad meal yet. Staff are very friendly and service is swift and efficient. Unfussy and unpretentious. In terms of price you could easily pay double at other restaurants for no better food. We eat out a lot locally but this is one of our "go to" places.

As a tourist from continental europe I thought this restaurant was not worth the visit and it only has a good rating as people have very low standards. We had a pizza that was worse than any store bought pizza I ever had - the ham was probably something worse than Spam (it kind of melted on your tongue and tasted of nothing).

We have visited Cassia Sambuca on a number of occasions and I can honestly say that I have NEVER been disappointed with the food or the service! The staff are so friendly and helpful. On top of that, you get excellent value for money!

We had gotten tired of all the wonderful fish and chips we had been having & thought we would try something different. This Italian restaurant was true to its culture from the moment we walked in. We got a table immediately & were asked if we needed drinks soon afterwards. Service was impeccable. Nothing to fault at all. The food was delicious. We got more than we expected & it was all so mouth watering. The chicken was not dry, the beef was just right. The roast potatoes were crisp on the outside & soft in the inside. Lots of deep rich gravy. It was noisy, it is a family restaurant & 2 birthdays were going on, but give it a try, you won’t get regret it

Food was amazing. I had a filet of beef. You could give it to people who have no teeth because it was so melt in the mouth tender!!

First time visiting here a with a group of friends, first impressions okay - cosy interior, but menu needs modernizing in terms of design - i.e layout, font etc as it comes across as a bit cheap. Ordered a bottle of Rose at an amazing price and it was lovely too, but unfortunately the first bottle ended up all down my dress - luckily it was a fast-dry fabric! perhaps a tray in future may be wise...

I tend to avoid Italian restaurants as my previous experience is pizza, past, risotto & steak. True these are all here at very reasonable prices, but there is much more on their 'blackboard specials' It was busy on the evening we turned up without a booking, but a short wait sorted it. Next time I will book.

Eaten here twice lately and on both occasions both the food and service was exceptional. As with all Sambuca restaurants, it's great value however, this place has a great vibe, friendly staff and the food is lovely. Will definitely be back, very highly recommended.

There were 11 of us, including a couple of younger children, booked for a meal for a 30th birthday. The staff were very friendly and the food really fresh and tasty. 2 of us had fillet steak and I had veg with mine. Steak was as good as these upmarket restaurants who charge double. It was so tender and plenty of fresh veg. All the pizzas were delicious. The staff made us all laugh when the “birthday boy” was put on a chair while we all sang and he blew out the candles on his cake! We will be very happy to return and have no hesitation recommending this restaurant.

We recommend highly this restaurant. Th lunch that we had with friends was not only excellent to eat but also excellent value.

Me and my partner have came to Cassia Sambucca every Sunday since we became a couple a year ago! (As well as the occasional weekday visit, don’t tell our Gyms) The atmosphere in the resteraunt is second to none, the staff are exceptional, Pepe, Tiegan and Hadi especially make our weekly visits that little bit better! The food is to die for, in comparison to the other Sambuccas in the area, I wouldn’t choose other than this one. Food is served fast and we’ve never had a problem with any service! Standard and quality is brilliant, and the price is more than fair for what you get! Today was our last visit as we move to Cyprus this week, so we came as usual but this time to say goodbye! Honestly couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough, also, don’t pay attention to Pepe when he winds you up, he’s just naturally annoying, in the best way though!

I visited Cassia Sambuca with my family last weekend for my grandmother’s 70th birthday and we had a fantastic evening! The service was outstanding and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you Cassia Sambuca for your hospitality and making our evening special.

Was back again to cassia with my grandchildren we had a delicious meal of pizza and pasta and a gorgeous chocolate sundae for pud it all went down well as the clean plate shows.

I was here on Sunday with my friend we both had Sunday lunch the dinner was absolutely delicious and the service were fantastic we will definitely be back

We have long been Sambuca diners, and that will continue.........at other Sambucca venues. Service, price, quality and atmosphere usually first class but this one is very, very questionable. Service is swift but the staff, particularly the guys, are unprofessional, sleazy, too noisy and only interested in getting you in, getting your money then getting you out. Customer experience plays no part in their interest - happier having a laugh and joke with each other. Didn’t enjoy the experience at all, the place felt like a tinderbox waiting to kick off to be honest, the food was average, not impressed and not going back - simple as that.

5 out of 5. 5 star. Sexual waiting staff. We love. Would do again. Teagan has sexy hair. Pepe just a winner. Teagan hair like I’ve never seen before. Plus menu advice. Many love. Do again

My family and I visited cassia sambuca last weekend to celebrate my auntie’s birthday and like always we had an amazing evening! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and provided a very good service. Me and my family will definitely be visiting again soon.

Always have a great meal here and the staff are so accommodating. Always good to pop in for a cheap meal and food is always fresh and piping hot, perfect steaks and desserts lovely and large and kids love the relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Loads of choice and always leave with a smile. Loved by all my friends and family.

I called to cassia sambuccas today to return mouldy cheesecake my daughter had brought home from a set meal the night before. As i have dined at this sambuccas before and the food tasted nice not as good as the smaller sambucca on the quey. I asked to speak to the manager Anton in private as i didnt feel it was fare on customers or the establishment if this had been a one off problem to hear me complaining. I was soon surrounded by other members of staff all putting in thier views one very obnoxious male staff took a spoon and the cheesecake and continued to eat it saying its not mouldy. Anton just agreed and made no attempt to compensate me for the complaint. Instead i was threatned by the mouldy cheesecake eating mafia wanna be ,to get out. I objected to the way i had been treated and told Anton I would be speaking to the police and the council enviromental department as i feel the kitchen premises and food storage needs to be looked at. Customer service non existent. I will never set foot in a sambuccas again nor will my family, friends and colleagues. Who ever owns the business needs to train the staff in customer service. Certain staff members very aggresive, rude and grandiose. When in fact they are arrogant self absorbed cretins.

This place is great. It’s extremely cheap. It’s good for a cheap family meal. The food is very nice.

Although the restaurant was full we waited only 5 minutes for a table. We are familiar with Sambuca food but had never visited this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The service was professional and efficient but with a very friendl atmpsphere. The food wa definitely up to Sambuca standard. we will be back

Possibly, no hold on, definitely the worst so called italian meal i have ever had! Antipasto sharing platter all deep fried! What the hell is that all about? Truly a shocking experience.

Wonderful lunchtime meal with excellent fish dish, nicely cooked veg and fab chips. The atmosphere was jolly and festive (even on a Tuesday lunchtime) and the staff friendly and helpful

So visited the restaurant today this being a busy Sunday afternoon just before Christmas. Already been a couple times before. Have always thought the food was the nicest of the 2 sambuca restaurants on the fish quay. Really enjoyed the two courses I had and food was cooked to a high standard which can’t be faulted was delicious.

Like to pop out for lunch regularly. This Sambuca does a really good sunday lunch at a really good price. The staff are great and the service very efficient. Gravy gorgeous which for me makes the meal. Nice building. You can pay twice the price elsewhere for something not half as good. Highly recommend.

Been coming here for years but tonight we were served what tasted like re-heated potato skins, rock hard, fillet steak was beautiful but veg cold and again roast potatoes rock hard. When we tasted the red wine it was warm, we never complain but asked for another bottle to be told it was the last bottle they had but they could give us some ice ???

Been to this branch of Sambuca many times since it opened after the original x2 Sambucas became really popular. The folks visit this place every fortnight so know all the waiters names & majority of the menu off by heart!

Went one evening on spec and were so impressed returned a couple of days later for a birthday celebration. Busy on both occasions but were seated quickly.

Cheap and cheerful but food is delicious. Great atmosphere. One of the best Sambuca’s in my opinion.

They are very welcoming and are especially amazing with my son every time I go in! The food comes out fast, tastes good and is served with a smile! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for a lunchtime/ teatime treat which is value for money and to anyone who fancies a giggle

Full of character, lovely little hidden gem. Was not expecting such a lovely little restaurant with so much to look at inside, loved the tiles and little quirks here and there.

Sambuca's... you get what you pay for..! Had Sunday lunch at Sambuca's North Shields... and I wasn't impressed. Potato Skins - greasy...! Main course - tasteless - swimming in gravy - complemented by a piece of leather (Yorkshire Pudding)... If I should even mention the word Sambuca's - somebody hit me over the head and try to knock some sense in to me...! (That's the fourth trip to various Sambuca restaurants in less than a year - never again)
