Casa Italia in Liverpool

As has been our tradition over recent years following a good day out at Aintree the six of us rounded off the day with a great meal at CI.

THE BEST Italian restaurant in the North West without a shadow of a doubt.

Recommended by a local couple we met, what a great find, authentic, food and service was excellent. Prices as you would expect, not over the top. It will be a definite visit when next in Liverpool

Great authentic Italian food. Bit of a queue to get in but 100% worth it. Great atmosphere inside the resteraunt and very friendly staff. Food tasted delicious!

A large family mixed group celebrating a special birthday. We were on the first floor and music was quite loud. Volume was reduced when asked.

Wonderful staff but of course delicious food Tortellini Alla Panna, Limoncello Spritz plus Pecan Pie.

The pizza is simply amazing, nice minimalist decor (oilcloth on the tables, but it doesn't bother me at all), fast service. It was worth waiting in line for just over an hour to enter the place. I recommend!

There's only one place to eat on our agenda and that's the casa italia, we go often ,the food is always piping hot and delicious you can't beat it...there is always a queue so that just says people are willing to wait for great food.

I haven't been to a more authentic Italian restaurant outside of Italy. The food was spectacular. I have visited twice in two weeks. The atmosphere is superb, and the staff are great! Can't wait to get back. You have to try the Cannoli!!!

Booking is recommended or you will have to wait in a queue! Mostly a busy place! The food is very delicious and the portions are more than enough, worth the money!

Food is delicious, cheesy (lasagne and Canelloni)! Although slow service on a busy day.

It's nice except for the gratuity charge at the end on the bill. £17 cheeky b..........s. Were already paying for the meal, do they expect us to serve ourselves??? I always leave a tip but not when they decide how much 😡😡

Queued up outside but our party of 5 managed to get seated pretty quickly. We ordered the 4 meat pizza, chicken and ham pizza, tortellini and spaghetti Bolognese. All were cooked perfectly. Portion sizes were generous. The waiter Davide was attentive and very funny. Will definitely come again.

Best lasagne ever. Been going to casa italia since I was a child and not a thing has changed, the food is always as good as you remember. Don’t let the queues outside put you off, it’s worth the wait! Highly recommended!!

The food was tasty but the staff require customer service training. Get your act together! Staff nowhere to be seen when required and took ages to eventually get the bill. Wasn’t offered any more drinks. A smile from the staff would be nice, too. Made to feel an inconvenience

This place certainly lived up to it's reputation! Amazing food, it will be our go to restaurant whenever we visit Liverpool in future.

We went for Saturday lunch at around 3pm , there was pretty long que outside. They have reservations for groups more than 6. But fortunately que was fast moving. We had dough balls and bruschetta for starters, Veg Pizza, Pesto penne pasta and oven baked bolognese pasta. My personal favourite was pesto pasta has good flavours. Dessert we had Tiramisu -maybe little too sweet for me. Overall good quality food and nice cosy ambience. Will definitely recommend this place to try Italian food if around Liverpool.

Very nice place. Been to Italy more than 20 times for work. This reminds me of the places I would be taken too. I personally would not queue outside for food in town, to many great place's. My daughter booked so walked straight in.

Me and my partner visited here after so many good things heard about it so after new year we gave it ago...be prepared for a short wait during busy times waiting for a table..unless you have a party of 5-6 plus you can't book I don't think..food was great service was great. Both lasagne and spag bol were very tasty and filling and the Italian bread with cheese for starter...enough for 2. With 4 diet cokes it came too £47..would come again

We had never been before and decided to try it at last after everyone saying how good it was. It was busy as always with the standard queue out the door but we only waited around fifteen minutes to be seated. We chose here as they do all pizzas and pasta as a gluten free option, which is great as our daughter is coeliac. I ordered the focaccia bread for starter and was rather shocked and disappointed when it arrived, I'd expected a beautiful thick bread but it was literally 2mm thick with garlic butter poured over it. For main I ordered the lasagne and a four meat pizza for me and my wife to share. My wife got tagliatelle and my daughter got gluten free pasta in a kind of Bolognese sauce. The lasagne looked rather unappealing when it arrived but it tasted better than it looked, the pizza was a huge let down, the pizza base wasn't great and the meats bland except for the ham which was nice. I'd of given this a two star but for the fact my daughter enjoyed her gluten free starter and main which was a huge relief as she's very fussy.

Mum, Dad and 15 year old Son went for lunch. Old fashioned/traditional looking restaurant. We all had the smaller portions, which were by no means small or stingy. The food tasted okay, nothing exciting, fairly standard. Nothing to complain about, just okay. The dessert menu seemed to be delightful, although we did not eat or see any of them. Staff were friendly, helpful, and patient.

Just an average Italian, certainly not exciting as the queue suggests. Soggy buttoned, pizzas. Not bad enough to complain about, yet not good enough to return again. It’s a shame as we really wanted to like it And loved the idea of an independent long, established family business. Maybe we have just been unlucky as it was incredibly busy.

Great option for a quick lunch or dinner date! The food was delicious, and the server was recommending dishes to try. Food was quick on the table. Dough balls with garlic butter are to die for!!! And the pasta was cooked to perfection! I would recommend booking a table in advance and maybe specify where you want to sit as we didn't book, the restaurant was quite busy even at 3 pm and the only table they had was right next to stairs to toilets so we had constantly people walking around us and bumping into our chairs. Other than that I would recommend this restaurant!!

I am from Belfast, North Ireland, and eat here Everytime I am over which is about 3 or 4 times a year, food is fantastic as always, the best Italian I have had ever, any dish. Was there today the the 23/12/23, a wee elderly woman had a dizzy spell, and need assistance, the staff was great, and provided a lot of help along with myself, got her to the hospital, her 2 grandchildren were with her, and I'm sure were frightened but done well calling their parents to pick them up. The staff treated them very well to, letting them sit in and providing them a wee bita food and we drink to keep them calm and warm, they also looked after me with my bill for waiting with the lady, and then speaking to the daughter who came to pick up the kids. I really can't talk highly enough about this restaurant and the staff and service they provide, trust me when I say, they are always busy for a reason, there is always a que for a reason, THE FOOD IS GREAT, I will be back for a match in February and April, and I'm already planning what I'm having for my meal on these visits. The ice cream here is delicious, not too sweet, pleasant natural taste. This time I chose pistachio ice cream. It's just too noisy for me in the cafe

Heerlijk Italiaans eten voor een erg schappelijke prijs. Er is ook erg veel plek binnen, ondanks dat dit vanaf buiten helemaal niet lijkt. Laat je dus niet afschrikken door een vol lijkend restaurant. Daarnaast ook erg snelle en vriendelijke service.

Not the best itlian but its cheap and cheerful

I ordered ppf but it wasn't worth the price at all. I got a grande, which was just served in regular portion size. The portion was too small for a grande but the price was very high compared to the portion served and the quality. The pasta was too plain, ingredients was mediocre and not special at all. I paid £13.95 for a very average pasta. I told that to the waiter and he was quite surprised with my review. I tried the place considering good reviews they have based on a long term customer satisfaction but now l am sure Brits do not have proper gusto to differentiate good authentic food from mediocre ones.

Good service, let down by pretty awful food. Rubbery tasteless meatballs, bolognese sauce a weird browny grey colour. First time back after many years, really disappointing.

Casa Italia is a Liverpool institution and the mention of it makes my parents reminisce about going there in their youth. If you go at pretty much any time of the day, rain or shine, there will be a queue. This is down to both its popularity and not being able to book for less than six. When you get inside you'll be greeted by a smiling member of staff and the smell of delicious food. I've been a number of times and had both pizza and pasta dishes and both are superb. This time I had the baked chicken pasta and shared a garlic bread. Both packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. Service is great and always with a smile. Only slight complaint would be limited draught beer options but with food this good, you'll get over it.

Ordered a bottle of wine at the start this took three attempts of asking waiters to receive...first course had arrived before wine. I do love the food here though it was delicious

Great italian place for food very authentic and food was perfection

This place ALWAYS has a queue out of the door. I thought that it must be a testament to some forbidden cuisine. Food SO GOOD it's like the world's worst kept secret. It was alright. It didn't move me. But I also didn't die. It was good, like I would recommend it. But I wouldn't wait again for a table. There are other places which are as good, especially if you're going to stand in a line on a street in a November night. Staff were great. Food was quick. But it is a conveyor belt. The covers their chefs must do a night is FRIGHTENING! The decor hasn't changed in 20 years. Which is nice. But it's always packed. So it's not great for intimate conversations or small groups. It's loud. I'm just getting the word "Good." Nothing is expensive. Nothing is horrific. It's just... Good. Dependable.

There is only one word I can describe about this place. OUTSTANDING

Excellent place to eat and atmosphere

Arrabbiatta was so spicy couldn't eat it, food was cold when delivered, and cannelloni was burnt on the bottom, and two hours to be delivered, never again 🤬

Taste is really good, very tidy, organised. They make you wait the entrance but make sure the table is wiped and cleaned, very good. Ambiance is pleasant. The serving of food was slow probably we were in hurry. Will definitely visit again.

The fact that the place had a queue outside on a Tuesday night spoke volumes. Waited about 10mins to get seated (which was not a problem) Food and service was excellent. Would definitely go back next time in Liverpool
