Understaffed or poorly managed I couldn't work out which one. The service was beyond slow how ever the food was fresh and the staff where friendly but waiting to be seated took ten minuets and then waited over twenty minuets for some one to take our drink order. Over all it was an underwelming experience and we wouldn't choose to go there again

Really excellent carbonara. I’ve been to this hotel for food at least 15 times and today they smashed it out the park. It was beautiful. The service excellent also.

My partner ordered a fillet steak and asked for it medium rare, when arrived well it was basically still alive, so we asked for it be cooked longer and my partner then asked for it to be medium well this time (which the waiter confirmed with us, we waited for the second one to arrive and when it came back again he cut it open and it was still completely raw on the inside, naturally he wasn’t happy and decided he couldn’t be bothered asking again. The waiter came over when he saw it hadn’t been eaten and said “what’s wrong with it now” and my partner replied I asked for it medium well and it’s the exactly the same as last time, obviously annoyed now as he was hungry and it was our anniversary, the waiter then said that is medium rare which is what I have on the ticket and my partner responded I asked for it medium well the second time which you confirmed and it’s come back still breathing again. Overall the situation wasn’t handled very well at all and although they took it off the bill, we won’t be going back. Overall - long wait times, expensive, mediocre food, rude staff and no apologies. Update - contacted the venue as per the request in the comment below and as a general email. I didn't get any response. I'm unclear whether it was a meaningful request or for show. Booked drinks at the Sky Bar and then the restaurant. In one hour, only got served drinks twice even after the waiting staff said they'd take our order. At one point a waitress walked our drinks to the wrong table, gave up and left them on the side without even trying to work out who's they were. By the time we got them, the staff didn't know which drinks were which. The music was really loud and the place half empty. Despite booking and being called (while we were in the Sky Bar) to check we were turning up, the mains took over two hours to arrive. At no point did the staff apologise. When the mains food arrived, it was poor quality and cold. The starters were nice. When one of the drinks tasted off, we asked for a replacement and are pretty sure they gave us the same drink back, even after asking what we would like to replace it with. When I went to talk to the staff about the slow and rude service, I was given a shrug and told "well what do you expect, we had over 250 bookings". When I said that maybe suggests you should book fewer meals to improve service, I once again got a shrug. I was hoping for some apology or discount. Only positive I can say is that because they took so long, we were able to catch up and saved ourselves money on the expensive drinks and dessert because no one wanted to serve us.

Absolutely awful. Went for afternoon tea they ran out of tea leaves and tea bags. Bread was stale. Scones rock hard( they are supposed to be served with jam and fresh cream. They had no jam or fresh cream. tiramisu desert cream was sour ( after checking twice with the waiter and floor manager, did it have alcohol and told NO. I spoke to the actual manager two later by phone, and she said it's laced with liqueur. It was served to my 14 year old who had a sick stomach afterwards, and we thought it was because of the cream. We bekieve now ut was sour cream abd liquer made him ill. Although I complained to the floor manager on the day who promised me a full refund ( it's a prepaid lunch), the spoken to a very obnoxious manager 2 days later who told me she won't be refunding me. It really was the worst lunch with the worst service I have experienced. The right photo us whst they promise on their menu. The left is what you get!!! With stale bread rockhard scones and sour cream liqueur laced tiramisu.

We used the Afternoon Tea option, the place is very nice, there is a view of the whole city. The Afternoon Tea menu includes unlimited tea, sandwiches, traditional buns and quite a lot of things for dessert, in general the dishes are pleasant, without frills. Overall, a good place specifically for Afternoon Tea, a pleasant experience is guaranteed.

I visited ginos for dinner with a group of girlfriends then headed up to the sky bar for drinks. My drink took a long time to arrive but full credit to the lovely lady, I think she was the manager who sorted it. There was also an accident involving drinks but the way it was handled was brilliant. Accidents happen and whilst it resulted in a damp outfit it did not ruin the night thanks to the staff and how they dealt with it. Will definitely return

Had coffee and desserts in sky bar.We had dinner in ginos restraunt Ordered prawns with salad advocado.Should of been cold..It was warm been left in kitchen.Or mix left out.Very hot spicey.Not suppose to be spicey.Spoilt my food.Told Natalie who spoke to her manager.They both sorted it our.And rectified it.But ginos restraunt just said sorry.And kitchen needs to taste before food is sent out.Pesto with breads first pot ovely salted.Second pot no flavor.Thought pesto has bazil pine nuts garlic parmasan.Never tasted of ingredients. That should be best in a Italian restaurant. My partner had burger presentation was none.Bit lettuce and tomato. That's not someone who cares 🙄. Staff very nice but disappointed. We visited Gino SkyBar 360 on Saturday, the 10th of August to celebrate my birthday. We had superb service from our waiter Denys. It was a busy day at the sky bar but service was excellent. We ordered from the menu and had three delicious dishes - Bruschetta, Italian bread and Barata cheese. The food was light, fresh And extremely tasty. Fantastic afternoon With the best drinks in Liverpool! Thank you again, Denys, You are fantastic! Also huge thanks to Tia For the complimentary birthday drink, It really made me feel very special. Impeccable service and we will be back!

On visiting the Gino D’ Campo 360 Sky Bar many times the customer service and experience of the team, particularly Tia and Kris exceeds any we have recieved in any other bar in Liverpool. On arrival you are met by the girls at the restaurant desk who always make you feel welcome with a smile and a greeting. They walk you to the lift and always ask after you and your day. On arrival into the Gino D’ Campo 360 Sky Bar you are met by the hosts who welcome you and show you to your seat. Having visited many many times they know where we like to sit and always go out of their way to accommodate. If Tia or Kris are on duty they will without exception come over and greet us like we are old friends. The team behind the bar work relentlessly to create some of the best cocktails in the city. Everyone of the team are not just staff but hospitality ambassadors for the Gino D’ Campo 360 Sky Bar. Keep doing what you are doing. 🥂

The 360 Sky Bar offers panoramic views of Liverpool, but the food and service left much to be desired. Many dishes were underwhelming, with the red pepper dip lacking flavor, potatoes being basic new potatoes, and the crispy pork belly being more charred than crispy. The cocktails were also mediocre, and the loud music made conversation difficult. On a positive note, the king prawn bruschetta was delicious, and the views were impressive despite some obstructions. However, we ended up going elsewhere for a proper meal.

The views are incredible from this bar. However, service is questionable. Waiter forgot one of our orders and we had to call him back twice to remind him a drink was missing, then the wrong drink was brought over. He was apologetic and gave the table all a glasses of prosecco. Generally very slow to keep drinks topped up and table cleaned. Also a couple of drinks were mistakenly added to our bill so make sure you check your tab before paying. Cocktails were nice but the wait and having to remind staff for 20 mins that a drink was missing took away from the atmosphere. Plus it's quite expensive. A bit disappointing overall, however the views are beautiful of Liverpool.

Any visit to Liverpool isn't complete without a visit to the skybar. Book ahead, ensuring you get a table, and that you're recognised. Then you're escorted to the elevator for the top floor. Everywhere is clean and tidy, stunning layout and decor. You can see the mersey estuary, River, docks, football grounds, city centre, views in all directions. Highly recommended not only as a well stocked bar with great cocktails, but as an experience in itself too.

Treated ourselves to afternoon tea today, as a treat to our friend, who was visiting from Goa India. The venue is top class, with stunning views of Liverpool & the waterfront. The service was good. The only negative which is subjective, is we all felt the food ! although excellent, was to top heavy with sweet food, the ratio is probably 80/20% sweet over Savoury. Apart from that we enjoyed our couple of hours.

Visited in March this year for afternoon tea and my wife and I had a lovely time , both with the food and the service Returned this week with the wife for afternoon tea a birthday present from my daughter. We were shown to our seats and waited in anticipation for this wonderful afternoon tea , It came looked really nice until we were informed “ no cream for your scones sorry but we’ve given you more butter “ Below the restaurant there are local supermarkets which probably would have sold some sort of cream , but this may have been an oversight by the restaurant management Unfortunately we won’t be returning. Some may feel this is a simple mistake that could be overlooked But until I see afternoon tea on a menu , which doesn’t include cream i stand by my comments

The sharing starter - the Fantastico - was excellent, with great cured meats, cheese, and breads. The wild Atlantic cod was really good. But everything else was mid to bad: our waiter wasn't attentive, and needed calling each of the three times we needed him. Our mains took about 40 mins to come, and again the waiter was not chasing this down with the kitchen, but needed telling that it was too slow. When they came, the cod was great, the linguine was just scorching hot, and the veal was dry and tasted mostly of breadcrumbs. The waiter only noticed the dissatisfaction when he came to clear the plates. It then took a long time for the waiter to come and take payment. He seems like a good lad but he needs some coaching on how to wait tables and make the diners feel looked after. Some of the food was really good, but some was very much not, and overall the dining experience was 2 stars. On the plus side, the restaurant manager took a substantial portion off the bill, which doesn't make the dining experience better but does take the sting away a little.

It doesn't matter if when it rains they use buckets to collect the water that penetrates the ceiling due to leaks. It doesn't matter if you paid for room in the hotel downstairs. It doesn't matter if you are ok to overpay for a normal drink. If you are dressed casually they won't let you in. Not even in Mayfair in London they act like this. And the guy at the entrance has been not even nice or polite. And was also dressed very bad.

We came here on the 12th May with family to celebrate an anniversary. We were greated with pleasant smiles shown to our seat. All was good. We then ordered drinks,which took its time to come. Then we order food. Again with each course it seemed to be getting longer and longer between each one. One meal was wrong and my sister in law got blamed for pointing at the wrong thing even though she never. She got a complementary drink as she then had to wait. Now for the real reason for my low mark. We were asked if any one had alleries to which my husband said yes nuts. He hates having to tell people because he hates the fuss. All was ok till we got our desserts. He got icecream and in the bowl with the icecream was a pistachio biscuit. Thank god he didn't eat it as he was told it was all nut free. The waitress took his name and email address and guess what a week later haven't heard a single thing. I'm very disappointed that we haven't heard from anyone. No manager came over while we there again disappointing. Yes he is ok but still it could have been alot worse if he'd have ate the biscuit with out looking at it. Luckily he's not as bad as some people but this might have been the time that it could have seriously hurt him if not death as he doenst normally need a epi pen. What is the point of asking people if they have allergies if your staff aren't going to double check all the food. It's a shame as alot of the food was nice and it's a nice restaurant but there is also a lot that can be improved!!

Thursday afternoon I popped in to grab a plate and a glass of wine. I had the king prawn fettuccini and a glass of sauvignon and they were absolutely perfect! The pasta was perfectly "al dente", the pesto was fresh and prawn perfectly grilled. My service from Jasmin and Salvador was also top notch with speedy delivery and rightly timed check backs. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a premium Italian dinner experience!

Nice view over the river Mersey. You won't be able to see the Royal Liver Building or the Albert Dock but the view over the river is very good. I would suggest going at sunset to make the most of it. I like the environment, quite elegant. The staff is really nice and takes care of you. The drinks are good.

Went up to sky bar 18 floors up. Had a drink up here with my wife prior to meal downstairs. There is an outside seating area with fantastic views of Liverpool city. It was brilliant the experience. The food was lovely and service from the staff excellent. Great place. Booking is a must if possible.

The staff were fantastic the starters were very good but the main course was not so good the steak and chips. The chips were frozen chips and the steak was nice but just nice in what should be a top restaurant the chips should not be frozen chips and when your £40 for steak it should be really good had a lot cheaper steak the day before in different restaurant and it was fantastic.

Chloe and Sal gave us first class attention - and the gentlemen upstairs in the Sky Bar were so attentively and also welcoming! (Ps loved the little touches: sunscreen available to use as was 23c that day) Wonderful evening, fabulous setting and staff - a must do!

I visited the restaurant due to staying at the hotel with work so it was convenient to go down to level 1 for dinner. I was waiting to be greeted at the front desk for 7 minutes of which multiple floor staff glanced over and could’ve helped their colleague who was tied up with a customer query about a future booking. I was seated by the manager and in fairness ordered a drink fairly quickly. The manager then came back and offered to get me a tap water which never actually materialised but was marked on the table bill - I would’ve appreciated it due to the length of time I was waiting in total. My starter (gamberoni fritti) arrived about 20 minutes in which is normal and was very tasty so hats off to the chef. Once finished the real problems started. The table in front of me (party of 6) were getting antsy. There was a 45 minute wait for my main and they’d been waiting nearly an hour for their food and with small children this definitely isn’t ideal. No one checked back to ask me if I wanted any further drinks or ask how my food was, I would’ve really appreciated another drink! I had finished my main and paid for the bill by the time the table in front of me had been served their food. The staff seemed to avoid the table as long as they could until the gentleman confronted the manager about it. Whilst paying my bill, the gentleman asked for cutlery from the waitress and she dismissed him rolling her eyes saying she was busy with another customer- I was utterly shocked! If I was him I’d have walked out there and then. It takes two seconds to beckon someone over to help. Having worked in the food industry for many years you should make each and every customer feel valued. If you can’t serve them, ask another colleague to come over and help and at least pretend to like your job. It was only a Monday evening so there shouldn’t be any excuses for poor service as it wasn’t a busy Saturday. The attitude of the staff and poor customer service has put me off returning and I won’t be visiting the Newcastle restaurant which is my local Gino restaurant. Had the service been to the same standard as the food, I would be recommending it all day long.

Great view but wow, rejecting a patron of the hotel because of a Liverpool kit during game day is a bit absurd. You’d think guests of the hotel wouldn’t be turned away over something silly like that.

Lovely experience in the restaurant for dinner, drinks and dessert! Sal looked after us for the evening, making sure we had a good time and enjoyed everything we ordered. I ordered the prawn fettuccine and it was delicious, will definitely be back very soon!

Having continuously rang the number as advertised on Google to book as advised when buying the Groupon voucher, we tried to book for 2 weeks before visit but we had no answer. We went to the cafe on the day we visited Liverpool, we asked for a table for 2. They asked if we had a booking & if it was groupon to which I replied no to the booking but yes to Groupon. I was about to try and explain we had tried the number had no answer but we were cut dead by a man, possibly the chef who just said NO...and that was it. Although there were tables free I appreciate they were possibly booked but sadly the rudeness off the chef was an absolute let down having read good things about here. Don't do Groupon if you just want fully paying customers 🙄
