Lovely lunch food was great, service was prompt and efficient and good atmosphere in the restaurant

Extensive menu, generous portions. It can be a bit noisy when it's busy, which is most of the time. But happy to return anytime.

Always loved this place but hadn't been for a while as the last time the chips were disappointing. This time I got a gammon steak and chips. Gammon steak was under cooked and chips were disappointing again.

1st time visiting here with my daughter, we were greeted with lovely friendly staff and seated in a very nice spot in this really lovely restaurant. We had the Tex Mex Chicken which was lovely, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the addition of home made coleslaw was perfect. The staff were really nice and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Lovely famehouse feel. Food is fabulous. We ordered the steak pie, roast dinner and a children's Yorkie Sausage dinner. Steak and pork melted in your mouth. Can't wait to visit again.

Really sorry to be writing this but the last few times visiting the foods not as good as it’s been in the past. I had a small mac n cheese yesterday it tasted strange and the macaroni was a dark grey colour and afterwards I did not feel great. Husband had the fried chicken that was dry and the chips used to be lovely buy now they were left on the plate by 2 of us. Last visit we had the veg also had a strange taste so we have not been going as frequently as we used to. Sad really as we used to go every couple of weeks.

Fantastic food, great service and very reasonably priced. Four mains with drinks £86. I can highly recommend the Caledonian Chicken.

Typical pub vibe, loads to choose from menu but I just don't like it. Tried it twice, first time was lamb shank and they added onion to the mash potatoes which put me off. Second time I ordered a cooked overnight rump steak in creamy sauce but the meat was far too dry. I couldn't eat it.

What a great place! Went in for early Sunday lunch. Not having been before we thought we'd get a starter and main - big mistake! The portions are on large side so definitely worth your money, however we both struggled to finish our meal. Next time I'll either forget about a starter and just get a main meal, or request smaller portion main. Staff were very pleasant and helpful too.

Quality of food not great.Had to ask for my wife's food to be reheated.Not a great experience. Would not recommend. First time there ,will not be back.

Great midweek lunch for a tenner! Freshly cooked creamed mushrooms on garlic bread followed by perfectly cooked breaded haddock with chips (looked hand cut definitely not frozen). Extra £6 for dessert enough for two to share, also delicious. A la Carte menu also available. Going back this week. Will review again. Also plenty of parking available.

The ambiance of the restaurant was truly inviting, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was tasteful and enhanced the overall dining experience. The meal was exceptional, exceeding expectations in both presentation and flavor. Despite the high quality, the pricing remained reasonable and accessible. It was a delightful lunch experience that left a lasting impression.

Pleasantly surprised, was an extremely enjoyable experience, would recommend for anyone to visit. Looks amazing for family or just meal with friends.

Usually very good but this time disappointing. Had the sharing cheesy nachos to start.... not many in the bowl and they were soggy. Had the lasagne for main and that was delicious.

Amazing service from kirsten tonight. The food was amazing. Massive portions for an excellent price. The atmosphere was relaxed and we weren't rushed. Will definately be back.

Heating wasn't on so the place was freezing. Ordered potato skins - for a whole king potato that had been cut into 4 length ways and fried.

Went here a last minute decision for lunch . Telephoned and was advised to book. On arrival staff very welcoming. Food was delicious will definitely return

My great uncle and his friends used to come here a lot. We decided to hold the wake for the funeral here as I knew it was a favourite of his. The service was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. They took good care of us all.

Nice place for a meal. Ambience was good. Took a bit of time for the food to arrive. Large portions are big so order them if you are hungry. Steak was good. We had roast of the day, fish and chips and Carbonara, which were all good. Service was good.

Lunch gathering with family. One of the best Steak Pies I have had. Tender fat free beautiful beef. Staff friendly and welcoming. There is a large selection and lots of options.

Went for lunch. Pasta picante was perfect but the pizza was lacking in tomato sauce.

The food was fantastic and the place is beautiful inside so old fashioned and lovely. My only issue is that the carpark is not big enough for the volume of people. We spent ages waiting for a space, and disabled spaces were all taken by people who didn't have a badge, which added to the frustrations. However, we got a space after 15 minutes waiting around.

Big portions but the chips were not the best.

I ordered the special called Copacabana Chicken and was really disappointed with my meal and had to send it back. The staff were extremely helpful and understanding and I changed it to the Teriyaki Beef salad which was really nice. My friend ordered steak which looked really good.

Carrigans is my favourite restaurant in East Kilbride. The food and staff are lovely. Never disappointed with the food we order, it really deserves its reputation as one of the best restaurants in the area. Never hesitate to reccomend it to friends and family. Of course we'll be back 🥰

Great food and drink and atmosphere

Really good food. Massive portions. Prices slightly higher than similar options, but many, many times worth it. Very broad menu. I’m slightly picky, but each visit I normally get something different. Visited about 20 times now. Always busy for a reason. We try and get here for a monthly treat.

Had a lovely time last night Friday 18th with the family, we had a table for 9 in the corner which was perfect👍 food was great ,portion size great, and the service we had from the staff couldn't have been better, looking forward to booking a family meal again in December .

Not a 5 star anymore as food prices have went up and the portion sizes have came down. Same ingredients and dishes but they have all increased £3+ and when 4 plus people are dining having 3 courses that quickly adds up.

Excellent place for a Sunday roast, would highly recommend.

This restaurant is fantastic as is the service, been loads of times and we just love it.

It has been a while since I was last here, and I decided to pop in for lunch with my husband and son. If I'm being honest I was disappointed with my meal. The chips were not cooked properly, and you can see from the photos how pale they look. My chicken Milanese had hardly any breadcrumb coating, and the sauce tasted like dolomio pasta bake sauce from a jar. My husband and son did enjoy their meals apart from the chips. I don't think I would rush back. The staff were friendly and attentive.

This pub and restaurant is excellent. We were staying at a nearby hotel and discovered this only a 5 minute drive away Try the chicken breast, topped with pulled pork, cheese and BBQ sauce. You'll not be disappointed with it. Good prices and tasty beers.

Fantastic!! Food was delicious and our server Ethan was so attentive, we couldn't have asked for better service. Looking forward to visiting again tonight.

Went with my son and daughters for a catch up meal as I work abroad and haven’t seen them for a while. Never been to Carrigans in EK before. On arrival had to wait several minutes to be seated as no one at reception. Ordered drinks on being seated, then waited 35 minutes on order being taken. 3 of 4 of us chose the mixed grill only to be told it was off the menu as they had run out of some of the ingredients. It was only 6:30pm. When I asked what ingredients had they run out of I was informed that the chef had decided to take it off the menu. Made alternative order 15 minutes later and when food arrived it was lovely and there were ample portions so no complaints there. Our drinks ran out while waiting but no one came near our table to enquire if we wanted another drink. We had to go up and ask. This happened twice. When finished and ready to leave we waiting on someone coming to give us the bill. No one came. Eventually had to go to reception to pay on way out. In general staff weren’t friendly at all apart from Georgio who was pleasant and helpful. Sorry to say I won’t be rushing back despite the food being great.

We visited this wonderful pub during our stay near Glasgow in August. It was the best choice we made for food. The service was excellent, the staff was super friendly with us and the kids. The food was delicious, generous portions and nice tastes. We decided to pay a second visit the following day and we didnt regret it. The atmosphere adds to the outstanding experience. A highly recommended place!

Went to celebrate a birthday and exams uts the first time iv been back since my first experience when it first opened years ago, it was much way much better than back then and also I would like to say as a woman with mobility issues its by far the nicest and cleanest disabled toilet iv ever been in, in east kilbride and surrounding areas, our waitress was a lovely woman very friendly, nice maner and very apologeticas it was super busy and things were taking a while to happen food and drink wise. This time round, I would recommend it 100%

Visited last week with my wife and two granddaughters for lunch. Quiet when we entered but quickly got busy. Seated quickly and orders taken - luckily didn't have to wait too long since everyone was hungry. Very friendly service from all staff, especially Iain who was very accommodating and nothing seemed too much trouble for him - made our visit especially enjoyable. Food was very good, but as others have commented, the portions were large (even the childrens!). Highly recommended.

Had the sweet and sour chicken came with pilau rice ?? Not recommended they should have served it with boiled rice it tasted weird .

The chicken starters were nice, if I'm being picky it could have been a bit warmer but it was fairly busy. Mains were good too. The kids meal was a good size and he enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and good with children.

A disappointing visit today unfortunately. Had gone in thinking they still did carvery (no idea when that changed, but we'll take the blame for that one). Ended up ordering a beef chilli and a vegetable burrito. Took about 40mins for them to be brought out (and there were still plenty of open tables). After a few bites, my wife realised that her veggie burrito was very spicy. It was much spicier than my beef one, so we weren't able to eat most of it. Don't know why they were so different as there was zero mention of spice level on the menu. Otherwise, she'd have asked for it to be mild. The staff were friendly, but it was slow and the menu unclear.

Carrigans lived up to its reputation, a superb experience.

Staff lovely as always, thought the food was a bit below standard. Breaded mushroom starter had been way overcooked, Mussels lovely. Mains ok. I feel like the menu has been the same for a while now.

Your staff are amazing, food is fantastic the 2 portion sizes are a brilliant idea. Had another amazing meal again.

Honestly one of the worst meals I've had. The starter was OK. The fish and chips with peas, overcooked and poorly presented. Boxed the fish and my dogs ate it when I got home. We didn't stay for deserts. Despite sending my main back I was charged full price. I won't go back. Very disappointed as this used to be so much better 3 different people dealing with our table. None of them looked happy at their work.

Hadn't been in a while but have had many excellent meals over the years here. Returned today and honestly that steak pie was absolutely phenomenal. Cheesecake also amazing. Want to pay particular gratitude to our server. I think her name was Kirsten. She was honestly outstanding. Such a lovely service and amazing at her job. Be back soon as always. Best place in Lanarkshire.

The fish was very greasy ,hardly any chips plus my friends steak wasn't fried correctly.nithing like the food we got in carrigans Blantyre which was amazing ❤️

Delicious food, amazing atmosphere and has been a favourite for a long time, until one day, we were there and it was quite busy. We accepted that the food would take a while because of how busy it was, and I usually got macaroni or chicken strips, but when I cut open the chicken strips, the inside was tainted pink. We alerted the staff about this, and got a refund. Although it has made me only order macaroni from now on, only on rare occasions I got there now.

Great food great prices and massive portions Service on the ball as usual. Staff all very helpful. Pizza at the bar is also good.

1st time here, usually go to blantyres carrigans thought wed try here, food,as usual, was lovely, lovely place too we waited nearly half an hour for our mains, which i suppose is ok as everything cooked as orderd but having to wait over 20 mins for our dessert was a bIt OTT Think we are gonna stick with Blantyre, possibly the best restaurant out the 3

Really disappointed with the service, our empty plates sat in front of us for 15 min, despite being informed they would be collected. The waiter then proceeded to go and set tables rather than collect the plates. We were out for a birthday celebration so it dampened the mood.

Great food, wonderful steaks, nice staff... good beer, only one issue is the car park... its murder... spaces are small and pretty poorly marked out... but, I'm no there to eat the carpark... 😁

The welcome was excellent. The service was first class (Enya). The food was served timely and was of great portions and extremely tasty. We will return.

Cant say enough about this place. I was staying at a hotel up the road where the restaurant at it should get the management from carrigans in . Show them how its done. Mushrooms for starters and chicken main and a drink £25. And it was outstanding. Craig was my server and was brilliant . All good and fresh .

Cozy restaurant with very nice staff. There are tables to sit outside. The food was fantastic and the prices were totally ok. A Guinness costs €4.20 here. This is a great place to stop after a walk through Calderglen Country Park.

Hi we booked a meal for 4 the staff are so nice and make you feel welcome the menu has plenty of choice and the food is lovely .The atmosphere is really good and we enjoyed ourselves.

Husband ordered fillet steak to be just cooked through with no blood, it was black all around the sides and hard. He sent it back and didn't want a replacement. I had the steak pie and it was lovely!!!
