I visited Croft Castle today in my mobility scooter, and was delighted to be able to navigate the Castle grounds, Tea Room and ground floor of the Castle itself, which I would highly recommend to others, especially others with disabilities, as the experience was so delightful, as were the staff. I had a delicious breakfast in the tea room, and enjoyed hours exploring the walled garden, grounds, and breathtaking views. The splendour of the castle was stunning, and I am honoured to have been able to visit the Croft family home.

Croft Castle was a great national trust property. The gardens are huge and fantastic. There are a number of trail walks which we did not do. We completed the Easter trail which was great fun and each activity was very interactive and great fun for all the family. We especially liked the eggs and spoon race. The house was also great lots to see. Will visit again.

What more can I say than we loved Croft Castle and its Parkland! We seem to have a penchant for these old buildings and getting the chance to see and read about how people lived way back when? I blame my wife she loves her history and it seems I am converted now!??! Honestly, on a nice sunny day, a walk around the gardens is fascinating, but, when you go inside the buildings it can be a bit of an eye opener! The rich, truly were rich, to have afforded these houses etc, the local community, to some extent, worked in the big houses and and the fields as farm hands. Poorly paid in many cases but better than the alternative! Sadly eventually, even the rich could no longer afford there homes and many were sold off, sadly only a few were saved. Well worth a visit....

Excellent castle of the house kind. Not fortressy at all, but well furnished and some interesting paintings. Plenty of information available in books in each room. Beautiful walled garden with a great collection of healthy apple 🍎 trees and a newly restored greenhouse. On the other side of the house, a gentle shopping walk down to the lake. The highlight for us was walking through the estate, up onto the hills, exploring the wood pasture, and the walks beyond. Wonderful ancient trees. Well signed routes and paths made it a real pleasure. Wonderful views. We were lucky in the weather, but it was a day to remember. Café a disappointing experience, such long queues and slow service that we just gave up and abandoned all hope.

First time visit to Croft and we weren't disappointed. You enter via the impressive parkland. The volunteers were welcoming and helpful explaining where everything was. We decided to walk the walled garden first as the main house didn't open till later on. It was lovely, with much to see of which a lot is based around the large orchard. Some lovely trees, flowers and vegetable plot, we also visited the restored and large greenhouse. Making our way around the house there are some standout vistas. We caught it on a sunny day which enhanced the visit. We visited the old Chapel that was very nice and poignant. The made our way into the house itself. Most interesting made the better by a warm welcome by the volunteers and also a very knowledgeable volunteer further round who shared so humorous and interesting facts. Look out for the clock with eyes 👀 that almost follow you around the room! Once done we went to the very cafe for a coffee. With a final visit to the second hand book shop in one of the stables we made our way out after an enjoyable visit. Our only criticism was the fact more rooms weren't available to view, but this didn't take away from our experience. We would thoroughly recommend. We are national trust members so was good to visit a property out of our area, as we were spending a few days in Ludlow, where Croft is close to.

Dogs are made very welcome but there are places that they are required to be on a lead. They have a fabulous natural play area in the woods for the young ones and also a great castle type enclosed play area by the cafe for the young and little children. The cafe is lovely with lots to choose from. Outdoor tables as well as indoor. Dogs welcome. The main house is very interesting but you only see 25% of the house as they occasionally have the family spending time there. The walled garden is glorious. Overall very much well worth a trip out for the day. Take a picnic though as it can be very expensive to eat as a family in the cafe.
