All the piers in Blackpool have gone down hill, they overcharge for everything, over £5 a pint, a pint you have to wait an hour, just to be served. premium prices, below budget service

Walking down North Pier my twin brother Stephen and I passed this magnificent two tier Venitian Carousel which I believe is part of the Carousel Bar ,not too sure on that to be honest but I must say I thought the Clcarousel looked amazing. It's certainly eye catching, looks in pristine condition, its protected from the element by a glass canopy, I just loved it ,adds to the joy of walking down North Pier, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to Blackpool.

This may have to be my most favourite place in Blackpool ! The setting, the music, the gents and ladies behind the bar ! Perfection all the time !! On our week away, we came in twice , lots to keep kids entertained and me! Was dancing with the staff and having a great laugh ! Really made our days!

The barman was very jolly and friendly, but the first glass was cracked and the second had lipstick on it (which he wiped off). It's an interesting place to visit, and you can usually take your drinks out to stare at the sea in the attached semi-outdoor area. Bit sticky.

This bar is located right at the very end of the North Pier. We thought it was appropriate to support businesses on the pier by calling in and having a drink while enjoying the view at the end of the pier. No drinks menu was available but we were talked through the wine selection by a pleasant young lady. We enjoyed the view but the bar and outside areas could do with a bit of TLC.

This is the only ‘family bar’ along the Blackpool strip and I think it’s in need of an upgrade? The family part is just a few arcade machines and not much else aimed at children? Was okay for a quick drink but wouldn’t be able to stay for very long with the lack of children’s entertainment.

A great place and superb staff. Open even in this mad march weather to let you have the fun of the pier and get blown about a sun lounger area even in the blustery weather it was still totally worth a visit, the theatre wasn't open but it is also a great place quaint with original seats and features. The piers resident pianist was on the pier playing away in the bar very nice day. Oh and the prices are also reasonable on everything and the pier has plenty of toilets too just in case. The venue on the pier called the carousel Bar is definitely open today the 8th March 19 we are enjoying a drink here at 12 noon.

Great place to have a drink and rest your aching feet for a while as you listen to the live music. Service at the bar was within a reasonable waiting time. Good family bar with welcoming atmosphere. Then just pop outside and the little ones can enjoy a carousel ride.

Located at the end of Blackpool’s oldest Victorian-built North Pier (reviewed separately).Visited the Carousel Bar on a dull & drizzly day. Spacious interior, part wood panelled & glass roof, carpeted floor. Large model aeroplanes hang from the ceiling. Walls decorated with oars, life belts & suchlike paraphernalia. Round tables & chairs well spaced. Pool table, gaming machines etc. Well stocked bar. Large windows offering great views back towards Blackpool Tower. Toilets fully tiled in maroon & cream, vanity sinks with mirrors there over. They were clean, tidy & fit for purpose.Only one member of staff working at the time of our visit - perhaps the lack of customers, no atmosphere, miserable weather, cold interior, water leaking in from the glass sections of the roof soaking some tables, chairs & carpeting made for an unenjoyable visit.I doubt a further visit to Blackpool let alone this venue is on any future agenda.

A nice easy, relaxing family outdoor/ indoor bar and hot snacks. Suitable for single people, families and the elderly who enjoy traditional organ music and a quieter drinking experience. There are children's rides etc in the area and shops on the main section of the pier. I have been coming to Blackpool for 25 years and love this place.

My husband and I stopped for a tea at the bar. There was a guy playing the organ, and later a singer. It’s an ok place to have a rest and a brew or a pint. They have a good selection of gin and fevertree tonic. The staff were Polite and efficient, they ran out of cups so it’s was take out cups- not keen. The toilets aren’t great needs a serious clean hourly. It’s a but grubby but ok for a 45 min chill before you go to the locks at the end of the pier

We visited the family bar as we had been on the rides and in the arcades and the bar is situated towards the end of the pier so perfect location. We just had some drinks and they had a children’s clown entertainer on which my daughter really liked. She was dancing on the dancefloor and got involved with the entertainment. The drinks seem reasonably priced and staff were good. There are lots of tables and seats and not too close together so there is room to move around. I thought the entertainment and music they put on is really good, which of course you don’t pay for. Really enjoyed going and my daughter met some friends as well.

After a walk along the North Pier which has seen better days I found myself at the Carousel Family Bar. Place wasn't busy as it was only mid day and open a few customer's around. Served quick at the bar and easy food a table as the bar is very large. Seemed like a nice place but may be very different during night time hours.

Whilst walking on the Pier on a freezing November day we popped into the Carousel Bar for a quick drink, even though it was quite quiet it was warm and cosy for such a large space! the Staff were friendly and welcoming too, it's good to know that the profits go into restoration of such a beautiful Victorian Pier, and the drinks were actually reasonably priced.

Fair enough place to reward yourself with a drink after treking the length of the pier. The function room is being restored though funding generated by its income, so if you want to help then have a drink.

The girlfriend and I stopped by this place on our way back to the train station after a glorious day out in Blackpool. We wish we hadn't! The glasses were filthy (lipstick stain on mine), cigarette butts all over the floor and bits of tobacco all over the tables. Empty glasses sat on almost every table and the toilets brought on feelings of nausea.

We concluded our long weekend with a trip to the carousel bar on the north pier. On a wet and windy evening we were greeted at the bar by 2 happy smiling young gents, I guess the weather kept people away but the chipper and cherry show was very entertaining for the 20/30 who had braved it. In the far corner next to the main bar there was a bike in pieces being fixed which later chased one of the barmen unmanned in the bar and hit a table which the mechanic found very funny (not impressed) the lady in grey seemed to take a lot of notice in the bike so I guess it was her steed home, not the place for it at all!! With one member of staff behind the bar keeping it clean the other out on the floor collecting glasses and doing the party dances they seemed to have it all under control! The toilets are hideous and smelly, the pier needs work but holds so much history it's understandable that it has seen better days, if back in Blackpool curiosity will take me back there to see how it's changing, and hopefully the managers bike will have survived the trip home

Heard there was a place to eat at the end of the pier, was a nice day just fancied some chips and a beer maybe. On entering the smell of old chip fat hit us first. I decided to nip to the toilet before ordering. The smell of urine led the way, inside, they were a disgrace. I had more or less decided to leave by this time and was glad to, as we passed the bar, the food on display looked awful, tired, tatty. Why would anyone choose to eat here? It's places like this that give Blackpool a bad name.

Myself, my son and my girlfriend, when to the North Pier to spend some time in the arcade at the front. We've never been past the arcade as I recall you used to have to pay to go on the North Pier. However, it would appear that is no longer the case. So we decided to have a walk. Its quite a long walk and it looks like there used to be some kind of a tram that ran to the end of the pier. We walked to the end, and came upon a bar (which I had no idea was there) The Carousel Bar. It was quite spacious upon entering. To the right is a kind of casual area with couch's. There are normal tables and chairs throughout. There is also a "mini" arcade to the left for the kids. There is a stage at the back where a children's party was taking place. The bar had a funny look about it and in fact, the right hand side was a bar and the left hand side was a coffee shop/fast food counter. It was a cold, wet, windy day and so it was nice after walking all the way to the end of the pier to have a drink, a bite to eat and get dry and warm and relax. Prices were the same as anywhere else in Blackpool for a coffee, pint, a coke and chips. The décor was also quite similar to lots of places in Blackpool, with various brick-a-brak on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. It was close to Halloween when we went and the whole place was decorated as such. The staff were nice and helpful. I will be making sure I visit again on my next trip.
