Carnival House in Sunderland

What an amazing venue! From the moment you walk into Carnival House you feel instantly at ease, it has such a warm and relaxed vibe. They have so many amazing things going on, I most recently visited for their Paint n’ Plonk night, which was fantastic! They have a well stocked bar with a great cocktail menu, and all the staff are super friendly and so welcoming. There is even a mini market/store with lots of amazing hand crafted products and unique pieces on offer. We can’t wait to come back and sample the food, which all looked unreal! I highly recommend calling into this place, whether it’s for a cuppa, a meal, or one of their many fantastic events ☺️

The classes and workshops here are great. The staff super friendly Drinks great with selection of alcoholic and none alcoholic and a selection of diary alternatives. The food on the menu looked incredible but unfortunately let down the whole experience and extremely disappointing

I would have liked to give a higher rating as the class I attended was brilliant. However the cafe really let the place down. The cafe has a warm welcoming feel to it, with lovely decor. I explained to the staff that I was vegetarian and yet they bought my drink out with marshmallows on top. Obviously I asked if they contained gelatine which they did. I had to wait a fair amount of time for the drink to be replaced. My friend and I ordered food, there was a considerable waiting time, we had asked for our food to be brought out together. It wasn’t. My friends jacket potato was extremely dry (a scraping of butter was applied). I then received my wedges. They were swimming in oil and undercooked. I attempted to eat them but many of the wedges were still raw. I did receive a refund. I definitely wouldn’t recommend the food. The only saving grace was that the class (many are free), was fantastic. The instructor was friendly and helpful, it was a great environment. I’d give the class 5 stars! ⭐️

This Cafè/ restaurant is a MUST. Great food/ drinks and entertainment. The staff are very friendly. A beautiful environment to sit and relax. Very classy.

An amazing place, the decor is so unusual and so beautiful. The staff are all so friendly and the food is excellent, we've had paninis and salads, both delicious and the carrot cake is just gorgeous. There are various events held here but equally nice just to drop in for a coffee and a snack. So much effort has obviously gone into the place, all excellent.
