Carnaval Meat & Tapas Restaurant Cocktail Bar in Dartford

Staff were very friendly, we was the only people in there with it being Easter Sunday so wasn’t any atmosphere, but the gentleman and lady that greeted us and served were polite and friendly and made a good cocktail, however I was served an alcohol free cider which I did not ask for and fortunately we spotted this and returned it. Unfortunately the food was very poor, we found 3 hairs within our food on separate dishes. The potatoes bravas tasted as if they were microwave potatoes and just had a squirt of mayonnaise and tomato sauce on the potatoes. Cod fritters were pretty horrendous, barely any cod within them and not even made in the restaurant but bought in. Wouldn’t recommend. Girlfriend has never had tapas before and this being her first experience she never wants it again unfortunately.

Lovely place, Food is great, staff is hardworking, but I think they need to add some heads atleast keeping in mind the busy days... Do try the Veg Pasta, Garlic mushrooms and the Sea Bass with potatoes and olive oil..... They do charge for the olives and the bread that they serve at the beginning.

I think the place could do with a new more delicate menu personally, I had a nice evening and the service was lovely but the food was not refined, not horrible but not good enough to pull ne back.

A lovely restaurant. Friendly start to finish . The food was fresh and well cooked . Good range of wine . Highly recommended.

Bom pra começar eu sou novo dessa área e não sei como me lidar, daí eu encontrei esse restaurante e fui com a família porque era dia das mães e a gente foi no dia 19 de março, daí o serviço era bom expliquei que eu sou brasileiro e não falo inglês mais bem pouquinho. Daí eu pedi um macarrão de frutos do mar daí eu perguntei para o garçom do que é esse macarrão daí ele falou Que é de frutos do mar, daí eu esperei por mais de meia hora, daí perguntei se tem coca cola zero ele falou que tem. Mais em fim gostei do restaurante não vou dizer que sempre volto mais na próxima vez eu vou voltar e dar mais uma chance

Having visited before I thought this would be nice for a birthday celebration. I was sadly disappointed. Service was poor with orders missed and incorrect drinks brought on several occasions. Food quality was poor to the extent we had to send dishes back. We were over charged for extras we did not have and did not order. The bill was extortionate and did not resemble the quality or service received. We will not be returning and I would not recommend.

When you go to a restaurant for dinner and you get great food, quick, efficient & professional service, fantastic environment and reasonable prices - you know you are into a winner! My daughter and I went here on a Saturday night and had an AMAZING experience - we loved it! Thank you to the owner and the entire team who made sure we had a great meal and a great time! Amazing as always. This time we tried the bottomless brunch and it did not disappoint. Lorenzo and his team were friendly and attentive as usual. We tried both the red and the white sangria which were both excellent. We will definitely beck back in the New Year and I’m already looking forward to trying their Sunday lunch.

I pass by Cadiz today and they do breakfast and brunches!! Omg, for 15.50£ I got one of the best Guayu Beef Burger!! Omg the flavours are amazing!! Is a gem on Kent!!… give a try!! Probably you can not find better food in Dartford!! They just open for breakfast with new menu.

Had breakfast today, @ Cadiz, they never fail to amaze us! Great variety of food, friendly environment and great customer service! 5 stars to the chef creating those amazing menus, huge and so tasty, combining British with Spanish specific dishes! I’ll come back at Cadiz every time I want to treat myself and family! Keep up the goid work guys!

Had the English breakfast and the super burger. Was amazing service from the manager Lorenzo and the food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

The best breakfast in town ! 😍😍😍 Me and my husband have tried English and Spanish breakfast at Cadiz. The food was delicious and worth all the money we have paid ❤️ Staff were very friendly and even the chef came around to check if evryone enjoyed the food 😍 Cadiz Restaurant is our favourite place to eat , we love the Spanish food so much , we like seafood paella 🥘 and we love tapas ❤️ Also they serve very nice Sangria 👌 We had our son Christening party there and all my friends were so impressed about the delicious food they served us and the friendly atmosphere . Definitely this restsurant is number 1 in town ! ❤️❤️❤️

Food was very overcooked and it was really hard to eat as of our party of 6 such a disappointment but it was the reaction of the owner that shocked us! It was totally disgusting he actually shouted at us for complaining our food wasn’t acceptable. We will never come back to be abused for daring to say our food was inedible. On reading your response you are the most disgusting ignorant individual I’ve ever come across! Your pathetic suggestion about using the food bank is totally derogatory towards people needing to use this. As for your suggestion that we licked our plates is hilarious your chicken and seafood paella was the worst I’ve ever tasted, the chicken was just large bones with one overcooked wing presented on the top and most of the mussel were just empty shells anyway. I’m adding a photo so hopefully everyone can see how awful it actually was. As for your comment about if want free food just ask I would rather starve than eat your horrible food and your response is wonderful so any diners can judge what sort of individual you actually are. Not once did we suggest that we wanted our food for free it was constructive criticism to forward onto your chef but you literally threw a tantrum and verbally abused us. Absolutely shameful and shocking behaviour from a grown adult and by the way one of our party speaks fluent Spanish so we understand everything that you were saying.

Food was absolutely disgusting and the service even worse. When complained the owner of the place had a massive argument with us. Would not recommend even if it would be the only place offering food services. The owner’s behaviour was unacceptable. In response to the owner’s comment: No one in our group asked for money back, they were constructive feedbacks to take into consideration and make the most of them but clearly you have no experience in running a business or how to behave with your customers. Right now I believe we are more dissatisfied in your behaviour than the food…..Bye! Second response as the owner deleted the previous one: I don’t usually get into disputes but you are the most disrespectful and disgraceful person I have ever encountered. Firstly you should sort your English out and secondly, you are so very wrong. I did not have shells with my dish nor sirloin. I had chicken breast overpowered by salt with a disgusting souce and burnt chips. Hahahahha “cleaned the dish”, not in a million years. And I can not stress this enough but we have paid for our meals no matter how awful it tasted. Lastly, show some respect.

By far one of the best restaurants in Kent and certainly the best one in Dartford and the surrounding areas. Lorenzo and the team are so helpful and attentive. Food is always so delicious and tasty, well presented and good portion sizes too. Great wine and drinks selection and the new terrace area is a lovely addition. Definitely our favourite place to eat ❤️

Absolute gem of a restaurant!! Excellent food and service, really felt like we were back in Spain 🇪🇸 after a our meal we went to the back of the restaurant where there was a beautiful oasis of cozy chairs and tables beautiful!!! Can't recommend highly enough!!! Can't wait to go back!!

Food tasted good but service could have been better. We got another tables food, had to remind them of part of our order. We’re asked far too many times if food was ok, do we want coffee, is everything ok, we just wanted to sit and enjoy our food and drink and chat. Worst part for me was being pressurised when paying the bill to do a google review. Literally stood over me until I completed it saying they were not in trip advisor and needed to get 5 stars on google review!!! Not impressed by that.

My work colleagues and I ate here last night and it was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. We were a big table of 15 and the kitchen/restaurant clearly weren't able to cope with the order. Orders were missed /not prepared and some of our party waited over an hour for food. Two people never received their orders and when we asked the owner/manager about this he proceeded to rant and rave shouting at our table in front of the other diners. He made no attempt to rectify the situation/apologise but tried to lay blame with us and point blank refused to ask the kitchen to prepare anything to eat for my two friends. The same man also had another full on argument the same night with a family who had young children, again shouting at them from across the restaurant. He clearly has anger issues and no idea of customer service. I will never go back to this place again and would advise others to steer clear also.

Had a loverly evening on Friday having dinner at our favourite tapas restaurant. The service and food was amazing as it always is, we have been coming here for over 3 years and it never disappoints. The owner of the restaurant is always there making sure everyone has the most amazing evening. Last night he had a lady celebrating her daughters birthday which the lady was so rude to all of the staff and showed no respect for other customers. Lorenzo being the great owner he is could see that it was making other guests uncomfortable the way the lady was speaking to staff as well as being horrible to her daughter and asked them to leave politely which allowed everyone to carry on having an amazing night! If only Spain could match the tapas served at Cádiz.

An absolutely horrendous experience and I will never return. Visited here last night as a group of 15 for my work leaving-do. When we called to make the reservation we asked if they would like a pre order and they said no they will manage, which was not the case. When we arrived, we were advised to make our food order but we had informed the waiter we weren’t ready as we were still waiting on 2 more guests… they told us that they will just make a note of it and made us order our main. The food then all came out at different times, with some people waiting over an hour for their food. A man (who I assume is the owner) approached our table very aggressively, shouting and swearing at us telling us that the service is messed up and he listed what food is yet to come out, which did not include 2 of my guests main dishes. When we queried this and said that this was not our fault that the waiters / kitchen had messed up our table order, he replied that he ‘did not care’ and we will wait 2 hours for anything ordered now, whether it is a small dish or not and refused to take any more food orders (so 2 of my guests did not eat). He then proceeded to shout at his (young) staff in front of the whole restaurant which was very awkward and and then went on to shout at a couple who had young children present, where the couple ended up leaving the restaurant due to the verbal abuse they received. The owner then asked the whole restaurant very confrontationally if anyone else wanted to leave (which it appeared every single customer did). Following this, one of the waiters, asked if we had any empty plates, despite that some of my guests were still eating, and the kitchen porter (KP) came out of the kitchen with his bowl to clear our table with the waiter. It was very apparent that the staff were quite unknowledgeable but were working under very tense conditions. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. The whole evening felt like we were being pranked and was frankly bizarre, I have never experienced anything like it. We were a very laid back table as we were busy chatting for this occasion, and we paid the bill in full, which in hindsight we shouldn’t have. I would absolutely avoid at all costs and will advise all my friends to not visit this establishment which is a shame as it has the potential to be a lovely place under proper management.

AVOID! SHOCKING! Our anticipation was high when we booked a reservation for our daughter's 6th birthday at this restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a disaster. After enduring a lengthy wait of an hour and a half, we were informed that the dishes we had ordered were unavailable. To make matters worse, the restaurant owner's behavior was shockingly unprofessional. They slammed items on our table and treated their staff with a complete lack of respect. When we dared to raise concerns about our food, we were met with nothing but hostility. Incredibly, we were rudely told to leave and subjected to a tirade of screaming by the owner. Two agonizing hours after arriving at the restaurant we found ourselves back on the street, hungry and with a sobbing 6-year-old, on what was supposed to be a joyous occasion. It was an absolutely disgraceful display of incompetence, rudeness, and severe anger management issues on the part of the owner. In a stunning twist, the owner proceeded to berate the entire restaurant, screaming if anyone else was to complain to leave as well. This level of behaviour is beyond belief and unacceptable. I implore you to avoid this establishment at all costs. My daughter still says that was the worst day of her life.

The staff are fantastic , the owner is incredibly friendly , the food’s delicious, hot and comes to the table so fast !! Brilliant atmosphere, the music , the decor , the whole restaurant is brilliant, I will be coming back often ! Even when rude customers try to ruin the night & have to be removed , the whole place is buzzing .

Not at all authentic Spanish tapas, cheap English food made to resemble Spanish tapas. An extremely manic environment, felt exhausted at the end of the experience. Had to constantly repeat our orders. Shame because the owner is very pleasant and welcoming.

I’ve been invited to a private party which was at Cadiz Restaurant in Dartford. The atmosphere was fantastic, beautiful place, the Spanish food were fantastic and also the staff there is extremely friendly. Great memories! Recommend 👍

Arrived at the restaurant without a booking , enquired as to the availability of a table. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was one available. It’s a visually appealing place, a decent space between tables, you could even imagine you were somewhere in Spain. Sadly the authenticity didn’t translate to the food . My wife and I felt the tomato sauce tasted uncannily like Heinz soup. This was a common theme with all the tapas dishes we tried. The aioli was sticky and seemed more like a greasy mayonnaise. Our table next to the bar was constantly accompanied by a ping and buzz , a microwave possibly? The waiter was extremely intense . We must have asked for more time to order 3/4 times . At the end he produced some kind of Google card with which you can apparently write a review? It was far too intrusive . I was looking forward to some really traditional Spanish food but we didn’t find it here

I was dubious because of some the reviews but the food was great, always been checked on for drinks and anything. Nice little atmosphere! Don’t let the reviews put you off it’s a gem.

The meat and cheese platter was good and the morcilla was excellent. A few of the other dishes were fairly poor quality and not to the standard we're used to. The young team of staff were running around doing a great job, unfortunately the man (who I'm guessing was the owner) was constantly shouting at them, we could regularly hear raised voices coming from the kitchen, this really spoilt the atmosphere as I don't want to see servers being treated like this. We had a beautiful bottle of albarino (£33) but unfortunately we couldn't have a second bottle as they'd ran out, we had a bottle of the Sauvingion Blanc instead (on the menu for £26) When the bill came we'd been charged for a dish we'd never had and for two bottles of albarino, when I pointed out that the second bottle was cheaper I was rudely told they were the same price and the old lady serving us (possibly the other owner?) refused to charge the correct price. I definitely won't be returning, the behaviour of the owners spoilt what should have been a fantastic experience. Update : dropped one more star due to their appalling response, horrible people.

Great experience from start to end. Booking a table was simple through their website and third party provider. Very attentive staff. Food was amazing. We had the patatas bravas, whitebait deep fried, paella, beetroot and goats cheese tart. The latter’s flavours and textures were on another level. Would highly recommend. What a gem in Dartford.

Why say you’re open when you’re not?? Planned to come, meeting people here, website and Google say you’re open, but you’re shut! Disappointed and wasted time!

We’d been recommended this place by a couple of locals, so we were curious to try it as we are relatively new to the area, recently brought a house… We arrived approximately 8:45 pm Saturday night surprised to find dartford relatively deserted, hardly anywhere open except for McD’s.. Anyway, overall, the food was quite nice, standard tapas… There was about 4 tables (1/4 full ) one left soon after we’d arrived ( friends actually), then another 3-4 tables/couples arrived which was good for the local business… so approximately 2/3rd full. It Looked like Gordon Ramsay, kitchen nightmares needed to come to the place… the maitre d’ / manager appeared to be very flustered, shouting across the restaurant at the couple of school students to get bread & olives for us, drinks for that table, clear this table, do this, do that, which isn’t great as we were trying to have a nice meal out… As they were clearing one of the tables. The young boy had / carrying a plastic style container whilst the maitre d’ was clearing several tables at one time, not exactly what you want to see…. The maitre d’ appeared really flustered, and the two students certainly not trained organised. So in short a little loud for our liking, although the food was good the service wasn’t so great… Such a shame for our night out but C'est La Vie

Lovely local restaurant. Just returned and it was our first visit . Staff great , all young but really attentive and helpful. Food tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced . We had to ask a couple of times for some of our dishes which were slow to come out but no major drama . Live music a nice touch but way too loud so couldn’t chat with each other at all . Maybe turn it down a bit !! Thankfully they had a break whilst we were eating !! We will be back

Booked table for 6. Given cramped space. Without saying anything, staff spotted we were a bit " elbows" so moved us to a bench table. Little things make a difference. Would highly recommend.

I checked out the restaurant website for Thursdays. They were clearly open from midday until 10pm. They still are according to their website. I booked for 6 people for a family gathering of people coming from Rssex, London and various places in Kent. The booking was made by their on line booking company. Confirmation email received. The following day I recieved an email from the booking company to ask me to confirm our attendance, which I did and then yesterday I recieved a text from the booking company, again asking me to confirm my booking, which I did again. This morning, minutes from setting out to go to the restaurant , I get a cancellation from the restaurant itself, saying we do not open any more at lunch time. This sounds like it is not a decision made today, so change your website and inform your booking company. Absolute incompetence

An awful experience and complaint dismissed. We were asked (and agreed) to trust the restaurant to present a selection of different dishes. What we were not told was that the kitchen were expecting to get busy and it was more for their benefit than ours. We were then (about 10 minutes later) unceremoniously served eleven different dishes almost simultaneously. The dishes were all 'hot' dishes so we tackled them as quickly as possible. All done and dusted in 15-20 minutes. Impossible to enjoy anything. Wouldn't be fair to comment on the food because I couldn't be objective. Welcome to the restaurant and the server had no idea where to seat us (had a reservation) drinks and food menus came and we ordered the bread and olives. Steep steep price for 3 bits of bread and about 6 olives. Ordered drinks mine came first then the wife’s 5 minutes later. Asked if ready to order so said give us 5 minutes. 2 more servers appeared within this time. Ordered tapas to start and paella seafood and chicken and pasta for mains. 1 dish of week old burnt mushrooms came out along with 6 bits of chorizo in something flaming (could have been hand sanitiser as had no taste) paella also arrived which was wrong and had 1 piece of chicken in along with a couple bits of chorizo. Told waiter/manager it’s a main and it’s wrong. Re fired after asking twice what I’d ordered originally. Came out as bland and overcooked. Wife had chicken with mushroom sauce. Chicken over cooked, sauce curdled and chips cold. They did take some food off bill but by then we weren’t fussed. atmosphere was just very shouty from everyone so defo not a dinner date venue.

My wife and I decided to go here for our anniversary and we won't be going back. The wine was massively overpriced, £23 for a bottle of cheap Echo Falls is taking the Michael. With regards to the food the starters came out 10 minutes apart which made no sense as it was just bread and olives. We ordered the tapas however we didn't get what we ordered, some was cold and some were overcooked. In the main the food was fairly bland and tasteless. I will say the scallops were lovely and almost saved the day though. With regards to the service, it was slow and they clearly were disinterested in us. It took 20minutes for us to place a food order and the same time to get the bill. The manager/owner was going round the tables chatting to people however when he came to us, he just poured wine into already filled glasses, said a couple of words and before we could reply, walked off. The restaurant was about half filled so that couldn't be an excuse. Overall I would not recommend this place.
