You wouldn’t think that a cafe right in the middle of a crematorium could be this nice but it is , from the minute you walk in , the breakfasts are really lovely so we went back last week and had lunch again it was fantastic, and the added bonus is that the staff are all really friendly

The cafe is in the grounds of the Carmountside crematorium. Arriving early from long distance before a funeral, it offered a warm and friendly place to wait. The lady serving was especially nice to all her customers. I only had a coffee so can't speak for the food but I saw a number of people who obviously used the place regularly and must assume that the food they ate was good enough to draw them back. Quite small indoor area but in the good weather they have outside seating.

We visited the tearoom today and I have to say it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend. The ladies running the cafe were super friendly and keen to check everything was OK without being over intrusive. The food was excellent value and coffees were served hot as they should be. Brilliant value and lovely service, we will definitely be back and would recommend a visit to anyone in the area. Super job thank you ladies 👍

Soooo disappointed. We’d driven 130 miles and 3 hours to attend a funeral. We knew we’d have to stop for refreshments. Saw this cafe on TA and thought perfect! Only to find it closed. Hungry and Thirsty from Northamptonshire

Lovely little tea room myself and family have become to enjoy at such a difficult time in our family. The staff / owner is friendly , empathetic towards circumstances such as if want a chat , they will chat - if need peace , good place to do this , covid safe ..... can sit in or take out which we have come to do very often after a family members passing. Great hospitality

I popped in for a coffee and teacake and then spotted Cottage pie on the Sunday Lunch Menu so enjoyed a very tastey homemade meal!There were some lovely cakes available too.The staff are lovely will be back to try something else off the menu.Thank you.

Went to the tea rooms with a friend this morning for breakfast. Couldn’t fault the service and staff are lovely and polite. The tearooms became quite busy as a funeral had taken place but everyone was dealt with swiftly and respectfully maintaining their friendly attitudes. I have visited the tearooms many times and the sign which they have up ‘Enter as a stranger, leave as a friend’ is so apt as they always have time for you. The venue is also very good for people visiting loved ones or for when attending a funeral or just to visit as you will be made most welcome. I would definitely recommend here to anyone and will certainly be returning without hesitation.

I’m not usually a moaner but this time I found this quite rude. Called in here As we were very early for a family funeral. Ordered food and drinks with at least 45 mins before needing to be back outside. Drinks were instant but gone way before any food appeared. Getting closer to the time that we would be able to enjoy the food, one of the party mentioned to the staff that we had a funeral and asked how long the food would be. Five minutes later one of the orders appeared with little apology and promised the others would follow. Now usually I can appreciate that nice food comes with a wait, but it was the attitude that I am concerned about. With only five minutes left before funeral time, my aunt spoke to the staff saying that she would have to leave her food as we needed to be at the next service. The man simply shrugged his shoulders and said ‘ok’. No apology, no refund, no explanation! He stayed in the kitchen and carried on his conversation with the staff. Will definitely think twice before returning. Such a shame.

A funeral early morning finds us standing in the cold waiting for the cottage to arrive.We noticed a cafe attached to the crematorium,and ventured in .A great little eatery with basic good with likewise prices.Friendly staff welcomed us into this great little place whilst we waited in the warm.

Hidden gem with warm welcome and quality food. In truth the service is really slow but everything else makes up for that.

We (4) were in the area and I came across this place before hand...What I did not realise that it is situated in a Cemetery!...to be honest if id have known this we would not have gone....Im so glad we went....The food was wonderful...clean place..clean loo's ..parking ok....the Staff brilliant...nice and busy when we got there...we had 2 large breakfast...I smaller....a jacket spud with cheese ..salad....4 coffee's.....all hot ….nice and tasty....good prices....Yes we would go again....

Very Good Standard of Cooking, Breakfast Dinner or just a Sandwich along with Home Made Cakes Tea Coffee and soft Drinks, all served in a very clean and Pleasant Building, Service is second to none, I have used this cafe with my ex-work mates and my Family including the Mother in Law who is 74 yrs old,Well worth a Visit

Called in with my wife for a coffee decided on a small breakfast as a treat,glad we did very nice.It is spotlessly clean,the couple who run it very nice and friendly.willcall again.

We discovered this tea room on a recent visit to Carmountside for a funeral. We thought it was a great idea to provide such a facility. The cemetery grounds are so quiet and pleasant that it would be nice just to come here for a wander. As for the café itself, the food selection is small but well chosen and the prices are reasonable. And the coffee is exceptionally good. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Recommended.

Lovely place so friendly make you feel welcome the couple that run it are fantastic all home made cake and meals they are delicious we go when we take flowers on different occasions xx

This lovely tea room is friendly, clean nothing is too much trouble, the staff are amazing and the food is out of this world

whilst visiting family plots, we found the tea room and popped in, it was very resonable and offered a nice variety of stuff, the homeade cakes are a must with a tea or coffee.

As would seem with many reviewers, I went to a funeral without a wake. Arranged with a few others to have our own little remembrance. It's quite small but if the weather's good there are plenty of tables outside. The service is friendly and efficient the Victoria sponge was generous and tasty, tea and coffee brought to the table if you wish.

We had travelled nearly 100 miles to come here for a funeral. We had planned lunch at the motorway services before we arrived here but found that parking there was non existent with about 20 cars cruising round ready to pop into the next emptying space like musical cars. We decided to continue to Carmountside knowing that there was a tea room so we would at least get a drink.

I love coming to the Tea Rooms as you get such a friendly welcome and the most wonderful home made cakes. Today I had traditional Staffordshire Oat Cakes with bacon and mushrooms followed by a home made strawberry and white chocolate scone. This was accompanied but a couple of lovely lattes.

Thank you to the lovely staff even though my number swent up they we so kind thoughtful and respectful to al my guests. So convenient as well for after the service , nice atmosphere clean and relaxed.

This little tea room is a hidden Gem the food is to die for and so clean the 10 second rule is fine lol nothing is to much trouble for the staff they help with and explained menu choices would defiantly recommend a visit.

We often pop in the tea rooms, when we visit the cemetery. Always made to feel welcome, staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. Food is always served hot and presented lovely. Menu is reasonably priced and a good selection of food and homemade cakes available

This is a lovely cafe and tea rooms. Perfect for before or after a funeral service or if just visiting the graveyard. Lovely coffee and gorgeous home made cakes. Give it a try, you will be back again and again...just like me.

Called into this lovely little cafe after a trip to leave Mother's Day flowers ......we had a light lunch or so we thought I had a hot beef sandwich on brown it was lovely and it came with a lovely big fresh salad it was presented so nicely too and my husband had a jacket potatoe with salad we couldn't eat it all it was so big ......... I can't recommend the little tea room enough the lady who was on the counter was so nice and friendly we will definatly be going back .

I cannot praise the staff at carmountside tearoom enough for the lovely spread and service they put on for us after my grandads funeral. The food was lovely and plentiful and the kind nature of all the staff a comfort. Thank you xxx

Called in after dropping taxi customers off. Pleasant surroundings. Had English breakfast, large one only £4.95 for 2bacon 2 eggs 2 sausages mushrooms beans tomatoes toast. Excellent !!

I have worked in Carmountside many times and have always thought it was a wonderful idea to have a tea room.

Having seen publicity about the tea room, I decided to pop in with a friend before a funeral. Wasn't sure what to expect, but the room is surprisingly light and airy, and the space was well used. There was a good selection of absolutely delicious looking cakes, which tasted as good as they looked.
