Carluccio's in Southampton

I enjoy the experience overall, but the food could be better. Duck fat not rendered down properly, potatoes deep fried to make them warm… lots of things could be done better. But overall it’s ok.

I have been in Carluccio's few times already and I felt like being in Italy. Every time I go there my friend pay me a coffe. I couldn't believe it.

Our favourite restaurant with great customer service from the entire team and phenomenal food. Strongly reccomend the breakfasts and the pizzas depending on the time of day. Lovely environment and the best coffee, mocha, apple juice and hot chocolate ever. Come back weekly because its so great, thanks for the continuous standards.

Arrived after booking a table for lunch , server came and looked up our name , and without looking at us picked up the menus and walked to a table and practically threw them on the table. Not a hello , or follow me please. No eye contact . Barked at us ‘any allergies?’ Then walked away.Service was slow, food was mediocre. Side salad had one baby tomato and a ton of rocket - no dressing. Won’t be returning.

I'm not fussy, but lipstick on the cup I had. An arabbata pasta dish at 14 pounds. It had about 10 pasta pieces, a bit of chopped tomato and garlic, very tasteless. Extremely over priced. I was really disappointed.

Extremely disappointed. Having booked a table well in advance for a 6.00pm table for 5 we were seated in the main service route, under the air conditioning unit with heating units all around us on the floor. We were then told that there was no pizza (3rd visit in 6 weeks when have been told the same) and then we were told they actually close at 6.00pm "but we will serve you anyway". We then sat and ate our food in an nearly empty restaurant with cleaning going on around us. Why they couldn't have given us the choice at the beginning I don.t know. Food was really average. Bread assortment was served on a plate, no bread tin, our glasses were filthy and covered in lipstick marks and the general cleanliness on the table was poor. Even after all that no apology was made and when I raised these issues I was told that they would "find out why you can book when you shouldn't be able to" Not my problem!! The final insult was that when I asked for VAT receipt I was given a bill summary only. Totally unprofessional and this is going tob e our final visit. We used to be big fans but it is being run really badly now.

Beautiful food! Apologies I missed the call (I assume regarding the juice) I was driving but thank you for the alternative! We are so pleased to be able to get decent pizza delivered to our area now!

Frankly disappointed, have been to other locations and it's been excellent. 2 main courses lukewarm at best 1 burnt on one side - returned to kitchen 1 carbonara arrived without the pancetta.

I had a wonderful experience at Carluccio’s, thanks to Ernest and the amazing team. Ernest provides exceptional service—he is incredibly kind and thoughtful, always ensuring everyone’s preferences are taken into account. The rest of the staff are equally friendly and professional, and the managers are extremely considerate, going out of their way to ensure excellent customer service. On top of the fantastic service, Carluccio’s serves the best coffee and hot chocolate. Highly recommend visiting for a warm and welcoming experience!

We dined at Carluccio's for our work Christmas Party and had a great time, staff couldn't have been more friendly and the food was great. Would highly recommend!

I had a sirloin steak last weekend and it was cooked & seasoned perfectly! Staff were lovely. I shopped for a few bits and pieces in he shop as well to take home. If we ever come again in Southampton, we will definitely come back.

Was with some girlfriends, had a couple cocktails before our food which were very nice. Sat by the corner which was lovely to eat and people watch at the same time. I had the risotto marinara which was divine I am already planning to order the same thing next time I visit! Highly recommended! No photos I gobbled everything up before I could remember lol

Had a wonderful dinner with my husband recently and we’ve been quite a few times before. Our favorites have been the pasta marinara, burger and chicken milanese! Vibe is lovely as is the staff. Will always come back

Had a lovely dinner with my wife. The food was amazing. Generous portions and perfectly cooked. She had the Chicken Milanese with salad and baked tomato and I had their Calamari. We also had Spritz while waiting. The staff was very friendly, they took our orders and arrived with our food, served hot. The location is convenient with plenty of parking. Highly recommended!

Grim from FoH to food. The manager clearly did nor want us in with a case as we were told they are fully booked and sent us on our way. We then took to OpenTable to see and low-and-behold; a table within 15 mins. We should have taken the omen from the initial contact with the manager through. It seems the staff running the show are over stretched and stressed with long waits. I went for the carbonara, which is usually a safe bet and never had a bad one in any location. I received a bland, congealed mess and my partner a tough, overcooked slab of chicken and something so hard in it, she thought a tooth may have cracked. It's a shame as I thought it was a safe brunch bet without being able to screw it up, but here I am writing a cautionary review... The atmosphere was that of a hurried wake. The staff were good, however, which leaves you wondering if the fact that none of the staff seemed to have wanted to be there - what's going on with the management?

It's not Carluccios of old, due to them going under. But it's ok, better than other quick Italian chains. Staff are really nice and make it worth a visit.

I have usually had a good meal here but not this time. The choice of soft drinks was very limited. I ordered lasagne but that was unavailable. I then chose the carbonara but it was so dry and tasteless that I only managed half of it. The cost was then refunded so the restaurant was aware that it wasn’t good.

Great food. Service was excellent. Has a mushroom risotto and it tasted amazing.

Awful food ,Aracine 3 tiny balls ,dried hard no flavour salsa was so small blink you might miss it. Bread was well just a joke , oil and balsamic more bread sticks, then bread. Totally a rip off ! Beer was ok but came bottled. After tasting the the measly starters, went elsewhere for our main meal. I do not recommend this place at all !

Great food for a reasonable price. Service was good as well with Erin taking care of all our needs efficiently and was very friendly also.

I went to Carluccio restaurant last night with some friends. I've been served by Erin. She was really nice to me and I will definitely come back there.

Went in for a quick bite for my two year old daughter, food came out quickly and Skadi loved it. Service was kind and friendly. Special shout out to the smoking hot blonde erin who was super attentive and friendly. Think ill be a regular from now on - 3 times a week minimum

Following recommendations we took my mother in law for lunch here. Unfortunately we didn’t have a particularly good experience. The service was pretty slow especially considering how empty it was, the server didn’t particularly seem like she wanted to be there and wasn’t very attentive at all. I had the Garlic and Mozzarella Focaccia for starter, it was burnt and had a very hard “something” in it that almost broke a tooth. I had a Margarita Pizza for main which was again burnt and smothered in Oil. Honestly, I’ve had a better pizza at my local Spoons 😅. My partner had the Sea Bass and he said his was pretty meh as well. We left spending almost £80 vowing we wouldn’t ever go back. Save your money there are plenty of other places nearby where it would be better spent.

Di not order the lasgne. Mine contained a large piece of fatty gristle and wasn't very nice at all. Found out that it's not cooked on the premises but ordered in, so I paid £15.95 for a ready made meal. Would not recommend.

I haven’t been to Carluccios in Southampton for a little while as life has been hectic but popped in today. We had the fluffiest pancakes with yoghurt, maple syrup and strawberries, delicious! As always we had a warm welcome from the manager and great service from Hana 😊 My favourite place for breakfast

The waitress was extremely good. Attentive, easy to relate too, nothing was too much trouble. Nice choice of menu and good service. Food very enjoyable and tasty.

The food was good as was the table service. I was however disappointed that when I checked my bill I had been overcharged. When I raised this it was dealt with somewhat grudgingly with barely an apology. I don’t think that was good customer service.

Went there for breakfast, food was average at best. I asked if the orange juice is fresh and the waitress said it’s “carton fresh” 😆

A welcome surprise when we went Carluccio’s, the manager made us feel at home in a very pleasant atmosphere. The service was very quick and looked good. The calamari fritti and chicken Milanese tasted as good as they looked. Thank you for a wonderful visit

Very good pasta dish (casarecce picante), which I’d not tried before…

Dines there with my wife and daughter and ordered avocado with poached egg of toast and the kids breakfast. The food was just awful. The avocado was old and obviously had been mixed well in advance with only 1 slice of toast and my daughter had bacon, egg and sausage with the whites very runny and the sausage was precooked and reheated. Save your money and go somewhere else, it was just an awful meal.

The staff are always polite with exceptional customer service. I always come here on my lunch break, for the lovely Italian coffee. If you're thinking about visiting this great restaurant you should go you will not be disappointed 😊

A bit of a shame today as the food was delicious but terrible service. Slow as the restaurant wasn’t busy and the waitress was a bit short with us when we did get served. A couple opposite us left as no one spoke to them for 20 mins…

I’ve been to a few carluccios in my time and I can honestly say the food and service is usually ok but not extraordinary. Yesterday I visited Carluccios Southampton with my husband, and after a long day of shopping, we needed and food and a lovely drink. Our servers name was Erin, and she was absolutely exceptional. The food was quick, service excellent and we left with a smile. If I found Erin working in a Michelin establishment, I would not be surprised - service is her calling! Thank you for a lovely meal and great time. We will be back.

Very busy, the booking we had seemed to have "slipped" back in their diary, luckily had booking confirmation email as evidence. Food nothing special, drinks really expensive. Not sure I'd go back.

A regular venue , quite busy today so slow / random service. No thought that we might need serviettes & cutlery so got it myself from another table which wasn’t being used.

The risotto with "seafood" was terrible. Gritty- assumed the mussels were not cleaned properly, overcooked squid and less than average prawns. Service was slow, and no coffee available ( that was explained after we sat down) The focaccia and other breads were cold , tasteless, and dry. Did not seem fresh. Of course a restaurant will have food smells, however smelt very strongly of old/ off cheese! Will not be visiting again anytime soon.

My friend and I have eaten here 3 times in the last couple of months, drawn back by the 'buy one get one free main course' offer. Each time the staff have been excellent, friendly, helpful and we have thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Update: This is a lie. She got a gluten free menu because she asked for one. The point i’m making is after she asked for one at the door she still got food with gluten in. She’s been gluten free for about 10 years and you think she’d say no allergies? Awful customer service accusing my mum of lying… Server gave my mum toast which had gluten in. She is coeliac so it can make her very ill for days. She asked for a gluten free menu and everything! I suggest you put staff into more training about allergies.

Ideal place to take my granddaughter for lunch while shopping. Very friendly and helpful service for which I am pleased to pay a service charge, although this is one of few places today that doesn't add it automatically.

We have just had breakfast before going shopping and it was very good and as a coffee lover really enjoyed my fresh coffee. We were greeted by each member of staff we passed as we were shown to our table and our waiter Matt was excellent at talking us through our breakfast options, most importantly for my wife who is vegetarian. Great presentation and helpful staff. Couldn’t ask for more! We will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend

Definitely one of the nicer and less public places to have lunch at the West Quay shopping centre. Food is not bad and service pretty good.

I used to love this chain. How the mighty have fallen. Antonio must be turning in his gold and ermine lined grave. His concept of an Italian restaurant with a deli attached is so now so far from the original idea. Nowadays its just a very average conveyer belt chain restaurant with a cheap shop on the side. Dry almost stale Foccacia (If you want good chain foccacia go to Côte) Tasteless Burrata (Franco Manca is so much better). Add to the almost absent ( took 10 mins to be acknowledged in an empty restaurant at 2pm) humourless service that has no idea between a dry and fruity wine from their own wine list. If you ask for tap water you get a small glass end. The menu has now been pared down to the absolute basics obviously in a cost drive offering no originality Lovely sirloin steak cooked perfectly but with zero offers of accompaniments served with the minimum lettuce they could get away with. Who the hell serves lemon with a steak. Oh I see it's meant to go with the undressed rocket leaves. Dreadful. This used to be a go to chain. It's just on the down post Covid cutting costs to survive. Only reason it makes money is location There are so many better places on the High Street that don't rip you off as much. Teach me to be hungry next time! Investors beware this is not going to be around for long.

This restaurant isn’t baby friendly.

Booked a table a month in advance for 7pm for our anniversary. On the day they called me asking if we could come sooner as their kitchen closes at 7pm. I said no, that is the reason I booked it for 7pm. They said, “but West Quay shuts at 8pm anyway so we would only have an hour.” I’m very disappointed, they’ve ruined our anniversary dinner, which we were really excited about. They shouldn’t be taking reservations if they can’t fulfill it.

We had a great Mothering Sunday lunch today. Food was great, as was the wine. Service was fantastic, thanks Matt!

I do find with Carluccio's that they are unaware of the correct information for the Fork offers, as are a few other restaurants.

Had lunch in the new shopping centre in Southampton , the food was ok and service pretty quick .
