Hotel good for price we paid, we had a room with heating not working. Hayden or Aiden young duty manager came to room and sorted another room for us straightway. He was a very pleasant and helpful. Well done. Breakfast good..no complaints from us.

Stayed here for the night and it was one of the best places I have stayed in! The room was perfect with a very roomy bathroom and a comfy king size bed! Cannot fault it! The staff were lovely and friendly! Will definitely stay here again!

If the fabric of the hotel matched the excellence of the staff, this hotel would be perfect. The downstairs, communal areas, are very smart and comfortable and clearly recently refurbished. Our room, sadly was not. Room and bathroom both good sizes and very clean. But dated and in need of upgrading. A nice mirror and heated towel rail did not compensate for the 80s suite and 4ft high fixed shower head! The mattress was very firm and the room overly warm with no way of opening the window. Having said all that, the staff were amazing. So friendly, professional and kind. Nothing too much trouble and we would definitely stay again for the service outweighed the shortfall of the room. Wooden keys and environmentally friendly policies also a plus. Steps from the station entrance and quick walk to town. Breakfast was reasonable and tasty.

The room was full of cigarette smoke. However, the room was a non-smoker room. Pub opposite side, so open window was not an option as well. 12 pounds is the daily parking fee, just you dont get surprised. As its no free parking spaces around. Overall , my purpose of staying to rest before night-time driving was not fulfilled. Not a happy customer.

Comfy clean bed nice view from 3rd floor helpful staff but that's where it ends The place is like Beirut on a weekend the noise from people in the pubs and waiting for taxis over the road until 5am shouting screaming police sirens you can't have the window open because of this even though it's extremely hot!! Bathroom suite very poor white sink but beige bath and toilet, broken blind £12 night parking groups of males checking in carrying bottles of alcohol they were drinking. breakfast was adequate and then there was the fire alarm going off at 9am Wouldn't return!!! Certainly don't feel rested either

Ideal location with parking. Staff are friendly. Reception and bar area is nice. The rooms are nice enough, could do with a lick of paint here and there and the bathrooms need modernising but other than that it's cheap and cheerful. I have to say I had an excellent nights sleep.

Stayed here for work. As my work was at the train station I couldn't have been in a better location. All the staff were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Only downside was the rooms are a little bit tired here and could do with a refurbishment. That being said the bed was super comfy and I had a great night's sleep.

Nice hotel, very handy for the train station, needs a bit of an upgrade in the bathroom

Mirror in ensuite above the toilet cistern, had to shave in the washbasin at the window and go to the mirror to see when having a shave. Car parking charge for residents £12 for 24 hours, which I thought was ridiculous, it should be free I feel.

Noise neighbours screaming until 2am from wetherspoons don't take room 207

Great location right next to the station Botchergate a minute away with all the pubs etc. Lovely old building, inside a bit tired, needing some TLC. Didn't spoil for us though.
