Ate here lastnight. Would highly recommend. The decor is beautiful. Staff smart and friendly. Great service. Excellent menu..and the food was faultless.

My wife and I stayed at the Golden Pheasant on 6th and 7th August 2024 as our son was getting married at the Oak Tree of Peover on 7th August. We had other friends and family who also stayed at the Golden Pheasant and the accommodation was very good. The pub itself was very nice and the food was excellent 👌 staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay and could not do enough for us. We also received vouchers whilst there which was a nice gesture 👍. Would certainly recommend 👍

I had a lovely meal at this pub/restaurant. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The pub has a wonderful patio and spacious beer garden with a summer house and children's play area. It is a beautiful, rural setting.

A good summer lunchtime visit. Big garden área that kids were enjoying. Pleasant sandwich - very good ham but bread was disappointing. Would visit again.

Nicely kept clean and not too bad a service

Hoping for a lovely family meal, it fell far short of expectations. I have never seen a more anaemic looking caesar salad and the 'tower burger ' was more like a bungalow. I ordered 2 bottles of sauvignon blanc and received 1 bottle of pinot grigio. Very disappointing.

We had a lovely weekend stay, the room had nearly everything we needed ,you do have to share an iron and ironing board, with other guests. but the staff are very helpful and happy at all times.The breakfast is very good and we had some lovely evening meals, and the Sunday Roast was delicious and very popular with the locals.The location is easy to get to in a very pretty village, and is very popular with families, it has a very large beer garden and park area for children. But there is also quite area's to sit for couples without children. Inside there are several seating areas some with log fires very cosy and comfortable.

Finished up here after a new years day clearing the cobwebs walk... tried a pint of chocolate and Plum stout...aaaabsolutely deelish.

My friend and I stayed here on Thursday evening after a cancelled flight from Liverpool which was supposedly to be rescheduled from Manchester on Fri. From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been any more attentive and helpful. We were shown to our room which was lovely, a decent size, such a comfortable bed, top notch bedding and great, powerful shower. We had a few drinks outside in the gorgeous surroundings then decided on dinner. The food was excellent, both had mackerel pate, served with toast and salad garnish to start followed by the smaller rump steak and all the trimmings. Again this was lovely. The staff told us not to miss breakfast as it was really good. They weren't wrong ! Quality produce, served piping hot and plenty of it. Sadly our flight was once again cancelled so we headed home. The disappointment was masked by the staff, once again being so friendly and helpful. I honestly don't think we have been anywhere and been greeted with such lovely people. We will definitely return for food and an overnight stay. Looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch and of course the breakfast again. Keep doing what you are doing, it's not often you find a hidden gem like this.

Great cheese and onion pie .. highly recommended

Two of us had an outstanding meal here recently. We had Steak & Ale Pie & Trout & Garlic Bread with Cheese as a side & all elements were cooked well & tasted superb. The two JW Lees ales were kept very well although too cold. Service from three female staff members ( particularly Charlotte) was very good on a busy Tuesday evening & we shall definitely return.

For those doing the Plumley ale trail, the Golden Pheasant is the first pub on the list. Located virtually in the middle of nowhere, it is a short two minute walk from the train station. The staff were all very polite, friendly and professional. The drinks were reasonably priced, and I would personally recommend the J W Lees Original. The food was OK. I had the fish and chips, which was a fairly large portion. It filled a hole, but I would say it wasn't as good as my local chippy. However, the cheese pie was highly rated by those who tried it. The pub is kid friendly and very popular for groups and parties. There is free cost of parking here and a wheelchair accessible entrance.

Room could do with being lighter/updated, lighting improved. Walk in shower rather than step over bath as was unable to get in and out, a deep clean very necessary. Bedding was clean and white. Matress comfy, would be hot in summer as only two small windows which were desperate to he cleaned along with the frames. Room very tired. We struggled carrying suitcases up and down stairs as no lift or offer of help.

Only one non alcoholic beer available- not very enterprising. Nowadays people want more zero choices if they drive or are on medication.

We stayed two nights at The Golden Pheasant, the service was absolutely fabulous. I couldn't fault it at all. All staff did their very best to make our staff comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

A brief stop for a drink after a friend's funeral. Not enough time to eat before having to catch train home.

Popped in for the lunchtime menu. Good food at reasonable prices. Attentive staff. Well kept real ale.

A perfect stay! Room was a good size, the service was fabulous and so was the food. Great railway links too as the train station is just across the road.

Ordered the steak and ale pie. Got a slice of pie smaller than a dairylea triangle. No chunky chips left, a few peas. Gravy was cold and had to ask for it to be warmed. So for £16.45 was a particularly poor meal, we won’t be going back.

Beautiful country hotel with period style accommodation and friendly excellent service. I booked through an app and turned up at the last minute, but was received a friendly welcome, and was provided with an excellent supper in-spite of missing the set meal hours. The room was spacious with a very comfortable four poster in the period style with a pleasing selection of hot drinks provided. After a good sleep, an excellent breakfast was offered. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

Had a dripping pipe under a floorboard keep me awake most of the night, free wifi is so bad I was lucky if it just connected, floors in the room creaking like crazy everywhere you walk and a neighbour who had his cell phone alarm going off for more than an hour. Overall the venue is not bad but the niggles made it a bad experience.

Great place to stay for a stopover, welcoming and efficient staff. Delicious food and drinks. Comfortable, quiet rooms. Lovely breakfast and general atmosphere. Brilliant parking.

Would normally give 5 but menu had fillet steak but on ordering was told it wasn't available. Should have been told when given menu. Also wrong drink was served. Birthday treat so a bit disappointing.

Used to LOVE coming here as a kid and enjoyed the playground/bowling green area - it’s been beautifully updated and we can’t wait to enjoy it in the summer! The inside is so lovely and cosy, flowing to a beautiful open area with large windows that leads outside. I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s the perfect combination of coziness in the countryside, with smiley, friendly staff!

This was a superb mid-week lunch sitting by a warm fire in cosy and comfortable surroundings. The welcome was warm and immediate, the menu detailed and the food fully lived up to expectations. Above all, the service was excellent - a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

Where for an afternoon lunch and the selction was great, service was excellent and the food was perfect and well priced . I would highly recommend this place.

The Golden Pheasant goes the extra mile and you will struggle to find better value combined with excellent service. The Rooms are well equipped with even little coffee cafeterias. I used it for business and it was perfect

Went with a party of 8 as we have been here previously. First time I have a Sunday roast. Not sure how the bottomless gravy works as we only got one jug when asking after the food was served though that may be how it works. Minor quibble aside, the roast was one the best I have had for a long time. We had the sharer for 2 and we were not disappointed. Definitely worth a revisit. The staff were friendly as well.

Lovely country pub with real ales. Disappointed that the staff kept serving an ale after it had been pointed out that it tasted of vinegar and had gone off.

Had a meal on Sunday served by the lovely Amy who welcomed us with a smile. So much so we decided to pop in for a coffee the next day due to our train being cancelled. Again Amy was there with the same lovely manner. Definitely recommend.

AMY a breath of fresh air in customer sevices ….thank you Amy ! We went here from essex for my aunties 80th birthday celebration. We had a buffet and stayed overnight. Location wise this pub is perfectly located as the train station is literally a 1 minute walk, one stop and you are in Knutsford a beautiful town with cafes / restaurants and boutique style shops , wonderful! Our service was impeccable from start to finish , reception greeting fantastic and bar staff especially AMY was just incredibly professional / courteous / helpful and much more … thank you Amy for all your help to make the 2 days stay special. The manager was fantastic as we had a puncture and he assisted with the help in getting us back on the road, again thank you. Suella again just fantastic! Thank you … By the way the sunday roast here is the best I’ve ever had so a massive compliments to the chef ! Absolutely fantastic food here …well done chef ! Beers wise again a very large selection , a massive pub with a massive garden to accommodate, excellent size for any situation. Overall unbelievably accommodating…simply cannot fault from start to finish ! Thank you to all … Wonderful

Went for a Sunday roast to celebrate my partner's mother's eightieth. Food was verygood and the service was excellent. All of us enjoyed our meals and if in the area would visit again.

Very pleasant dining experience with family. Food and service were both great and the staff were friendly.

Disappointed in the first room given. Requested a different one on our return journey which was suitable.

Stopped off here as a rendezvous. Lovely big garden, good service and a lovely big children's play area in the back garden. Part of a chain pub but seemingly with an emphasis on great food and service. Food looked good and we had a good meal at a sister pub a few days later which was very nice.

Great place, relaxing, great surroundings.

Went for a meal on the spur of the moment. Service was as good as ever. However, the meal was not as good as previous occasions. I had fish, which was overcooked and veg tasted like they had been sat under a heat lamp a little too long. My husband was also disappointed with his meal. So from a lovely pub with fabulous food, it is now just another pub serving average food and that is a shame. Let's hope this is a blip.

Fabulous place to stay. This was our second visit and we will be back again next year. We stayed here to go to the Coronation Street tour (30 to 49 minute drive away from Corrie and the Imperial War Museum which is ideal if you’d prefer to stay somewhere quiet and can drive). Warm, welcoming and safe environment. Plenty of parking including a machine for for electric car charging. 3 disabled parking spaces. Warm welcome and smiles from staff. Bedroom was neat, tidy and spacious. Walk in shower. Tea, coffee and a few biscuits provided upon arrival. Great food and a good variety of non gluten containing dishes (idea for those with intolerances but alert staff if you have an allergy). Good prices for most food. Good selection of drinks. Breakfast was good! A few options for breakfast including full breakfast (hot breakfast) as well as cereals, yoghurts, pastries, fruit, fruit juices, tea and coffee.

Unfortunately all the ladies in our group had chicken, and all said it was very dry, which I must admit surprised us as we have eaten there many times, but it was enough for us to start looking for somewhere else for our get togethers

Very pleasant ambience for celebrating my sister's 80th birthday. Good food, very nice staff, fair prices and "the cheese pie was something else!". We'll be going again.

A beautiful country pub Large seating and bar area. Lots of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. Prices have gone up somewhat making this a more premium pub. Food is good quality and service is good.

It's quite hit and miss at this venue. We got there a few weeks ago and they were not taking food orders unless people had booked in advance,only drinks. However even with that they struggled. There was most of the time only 1 person behind the bar and she was struggling with orders and payment system.Also some dishes are tiny and very expensive ( salt and pepper calamari: 4 small pieces is £7!!) But what they do rather well is the Sunday roast. Good size and tasty. However they often run out of some veg for it. Yet you pay normal price...One of the waitresses is a gem, always helpful and doing her best. Shame I can't remember her name but you will know who she is if you get waited on by her. It has a great backyard,garden at the back for kids and I believe this is the reason people keep going.

Just went for food and it's OK bit pricey i had a pri pri chicken burger nothing special my partner had chicken salad which looked OK and she said was nice

Booked a room and on arrival the room itself was traditional but nice, however the view was terrible. Looking out onto a large flat roof and kitchen extraction flue. Shown another room which also had a flat roof and another overlooking the bins. Got a refund and left. I'm sure their restraunt was nice but certainly not the place to stay overnight.

Went there for food the food was 10/10 and the service was great. Met a chef called Danny, we ordered his suggestions and everything was spot on. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely place to share relaxing atmosphere with a drink or meal. Excellent for beer garden and terrace to eat on in Summer. Hidden gem of Plumley area.

We vist the pub frequently and this weekend was no exception I can not stress how warm and welcoming Amy is, nothing is too much trouble and she goes above and beyond everytime. Amy always seems happy to help the newer members of staff.

My daughter loves the outdoor area here, food is good and brilliant service from a girl who works there called Amy as always :-)

Came in for food today had a lovely gammon. Cooked to perfection and had everything the menu said it would have. Props to the chef he did an amazing job will be coming back

Very friendly welcome and staff throughout our short stay, lovely room, good food. Plenty of parking and 20 minutes to T2 at Manchester Airport. Will happily stay there again.

My friend and I took the Thelma and Louise Road trip and came across this lovely old fashioned place. The food was exceptional and the waitress was very friendly and helpful it was the start of a girlie weekend and it was a fantastic start.

Have been for Sunday lunch and intial service was good. We requested additional drinks during the meal from a waitresses who said she would be back in 5 mins to take the order.....didn't come back, waited approximately 15 minutes before we were finally served. Finished our meals and waited a good 15 minutes before our table was cleared we requested and received the dessert menu but nobody came back to take our order. Finally had to go to the bar to find someone so we could pay the bill. When we complained to the waitresses about the service she offered a very insincere apology and when we asked to see the manager she disappeared
