The roasts here are delightful and portion sizes are also very generous yet still inexpensive. The bartender (possibly the owner) seems grumpy but is actually very accommodating and friendly once interacted with. The location is a shame since it leads straight out on to the road but that is no fault of theirs. They also don't seem to accept card payments. Highly recommended for a wholesome, homemade family roast.

Love this place. Decor dated but the food is amazing. Best to book in advance and check opening times especially for Sunday dinners. Only one chef, one barman, but you won't be disappointed with the food. Recommend any steak and the steak and ale pie is superb. Large portions, limited menu. Pricing is good and worth a try.

First time going to Hayling Island on a visit to a friend and I was early, so thought I’d stop by in a pub near to there’s. I came across the Caribou at about 9pm in a Friday night and it was quite quiet, can tell that the locals were in, all chatting away. I was greeted by not only the gentleman behind the bar, but the customers also! very very welcoming! They have a classic pub menu and from what I heard from other customers, it was lovely! (I didn’t eat myself). So as I come in, I go to the very small bar and am served immediately, I order a large glass of white Pinot Grigio and the cost was only £3.90!!!! That’s amazing!! It’s costs me £5 in my local! Very happy with that! the decor is very old fashioned, like one of the pubs you and your neighbours would go to back in the day! It was lovely to see and had a nice atmosphere. All the customers were older and as I’m only 25 and on my own I must add, I was still welcomed and felt very comfortable. Definitely a place to go if you prefer a quiet and cheap drink on a Friday night!! Will definitely return if in Hayling Island again!! 👌🏽

A great breakfast on a lovely, sunny terrace We had an exceptionally delicious breakfast with high-quality ingredients at a good price for that level of quality. The cakes are amazing, homemade. They remind us of childhood and grandma's cakes. The staff is friendly, especially the owner, who is very kind and pleasant. We will definitely come back because they have the best breakfast in Emsworth.

Chose this eatery as it looked nice from the outside. Opted for the liver and bacon on mash potato, ample portion and cooked to perfection, very tasty, washed down with a cup of tea. Dessert was sponge and custard, lovely and more than ample custard. So impressed I took away a large piece of their quiche and a couple of cheese scones for later, also good. Great staff/service at this venue and will definitely return to try the breakfast .
