Caribbean Twist in Doncaster

Update - I've been sick. - inevitable. NEVER AGAIN. Go there at your peril. You've been warned. Very poor quality. Clearly focusing on making money including gristle in the food.

We had a very nice meal at Caribbean Twist, its about time there was a Caribbean restaurant in Doncaster. Very welcoming staff, with great service. As with most Caribbean reataurants we have been to around the country, the menu is not massive but what is there are the dishes you would have heard of - Jerk chicken, Mutton stew etc. We had the 2 above dishes with a couple of sides to go with. Everything was well cooked and full of flavour. We were warned that the Jerk Chicken was very hot (spicy), although we didn't think that it was overly hot - but everyone has different tastes. Overall we will definately return to Caribben Twist - give it a go you will not be disapointed.

Called in on Wednesday night, 4/3/20 because the restaurant I was originally going to was closed and I’m glad it was as the Caribbean twist was far better than where I normally go. Greeted with a very warm welcome from the man behind the bar, quickly seated and given a menu. When asked what he recommended he reeled dish after dish off the top of his head, clearly new the menu. We ordered our food and we were certainly not disappointed, the starter I had was spicy battered prawns which were fabulous, my friend had chicken wings they were also top notch. Jerk chicken for the main with peas and rice was excellent, very tasty with just the right heat kick, would recommend this dish, my friend had the salmon which looked delicious. All the food was presented well and came out of the kitchen quickly. Great food will be back for sure.

First time at this Caribbean restaurant and plan to return soon. Five of us went and we all enjoyed it. When we first arrived the Caribbean themed music was a bit loud but was willingly turned down when asked. The waitress was friendly and obliging. The cost of the food and the bottle of wine were reasonable. The food was very tasty and authentically cooked. You could almost be in the Caribbean with the food and music, despite the cold, dark night. Next time I will try and rum punch. I would recommend this restaurant.

Better than any food I had from my time spent in the Caribbean itself! Beautifully authentic, raw, Caribbean classic comfort food done to perfection. Absolutely incredible, a hidden gem, and easily one of the best if not THE best food joint in Doncaster!
