Cardamom in Stratford-on-Avon

Waited over 2 hours for delivery called them up after 1 hour 40 minutes and said we don't want it if its going to be more than another 20 minutes. It was! So assumed it wasn't coming, when delivery driver got here 2 hours 10 minutes I told the driver we didn't want it and I'm not paying for it. Get basically yelled at telling me I should of phoned and not to bother ordering next time I said I won't don't worry to then the drivers reply was F*CK OFF!! Infront of children. Appalling and a shame really because the food was good from past experiences. Turns out the person who delivered it was a main person within the business.

Amazing food, brilliant service , best naan I ever had BYO too and fair prices… you will not go wrong here. Very happy to box up what you need to take home.

The best curry we've had, while it's only a small place above a hairdressers, the star of the show is the food, it's truly delicious, I can't recommend the place highly enough, good service all adds to a lovely experience.

Food was exceptional. Plenty of it and really tasty…so good! However, the service was chaotic , disorganized and extremely slow. We were there 3hrs due to waiting to order, then waiting for food to arrive. Several tables nearby noticed the service was poor too! Food was constantly taken to the wrong tables and some dishes were forgotten so we had to keep asking where is the rest of our order! I understand Tuesday banquet night is very busy …but surely therefore more staff in the kitchen and serving tables needs to be a consideration by ‘ the boss’

Went to this place last night with a friend we where so looking forward to it as it was supposed to be the best in Alcester I had the shammi kebab starter and we shared poppodoms for the main my friend had sag curry with rice and I ordered the chicken balti the main turned up before the starter which was not nice at all the chicken balti was topped with raw peppers and onions to be honest it was disgusting and my friends was no better either we complained but they still charged us £40 pound for this which was unacceptable I will never frequent this place ever again

Restaurant was immaculately clean, food was absolutely lovely and staff very friendly. The only thing I could fault was not knowing you take your own alcohol but other than that amazing x

Able accommodate five of us at relatively short notice (On a Saturday). A very busy and noisy restaurant with great, lively atmosphere. Among other things we ordered chef’s signature dishes: Korai Maharaja and Chicken Maska. Also Cardamom Supreme (fish) and a king prawn Pasanda. Staff very chatty and helpful, but do be prepared to wait if restaurant is very busy. All the meals were delicious and reasonably priced. Not the best I’ve ever had but still a cut above the average. Remember to bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Had a takeaway as we are still feeding lambs as always an excellent meal, our guests also use the cardamom and always have a good experience plus they deliver for free.

Service was a bit slow but well worth the wait. All our curries were totally amazing. The flavours were exceptional and the amount of food was fantastic. The presentation was excellent too. Would definitely recommend

Only been to this place once before and the food/service was exceptional. We’ve just had a takeaway from there tonight. Food was fantastic, delivery was prompt and the driver a lovely guy and they included a load of extras we didn’t ask for. They certainly deliver on every level at this place. Highly recommended

We visited Cardamon on the spur of the moment and found it to be very enjoyable indeed. The portion sizes were extremely large so it was really good value for money. The food was excellent and extremely tasty. Two of us had dishes that we had never heard of before. The restaurant does not have a license so we could not have an alcoholic drink while we were there. If we had of known we could’ve popped to the off-licence and picked up a couple of cans of beer. On the whole, it was a great choice and if we were in the area again we would return.

We went on a Sunday evening on the spur of the moment and were very glad we did as this place was recommended to us by a family member. The welcome was nice and the environment was very pleasant. Nice and clean. We did not have starters but did have mains, naan and rice which were tasty and really good. The Balti was spiced perfectly, nice and hot and the vegetable dishes were spot on. The service was prompt and professional. We are looking forward to frequenting this restaurant again.

New to Alcester and tried a takeaway from here for the first time, the food arrived early, was piping hot, and every dish tasted amazing, the chicken tikka naga was superb and had a nice kick to it, will definitely be eating here regularly, excellent.

After visiting the same Indian restaurant for many years my family suggested we try a change. I am so glad I listened to them. These guys know what they're doing. I like my food spicy and with colour and fresh tastes. The chicken jalfrezi, vindaloo hot was absolutely amazing. I cannot fault the dining experience here.

We've been here a few times as the owner and his team are so friendly and welcoming. It has a typical Indian restaurant menu, showing speciality dishes. This place doesn't have a licence, so only soft drinks are available. There is, however, a Waitrose just across the road, and this is also the best place to park as the restaurant is situated on a busy roundabout.

Delivery took hour and half after we order, when it came it was cold. Chips were soggy, bread cold and hard. Chicken tikka masalas had a funny taste. Not impressed at all.

Had a takeaway delivered last Monday after a day at the hospital and was very impressed with the quality of the food we ordered as I have ordered before from them and been a little disappointed, however the chef working that night my family and I could not fault it. We ordered a family meal to eat at home, we were given a pick up time. On entering all safety was in place with seats distanced sanitiser, & you felt very relaxed, customer service here is over & above everytime. We had an evening stay in Alcester we fancied a curry for our evening meal.We had a quick look rang and booked.Food was delicious such a good rich curry and great portions.We are even planning on coming back do we can go again.The only thing I do suggest is when you book they mention you can bring your own booze as they don't sell it, just in case your kind us and don't know that you can.

Visited for our anniversary and I must say the service we received from Ali was amazing, really couldn't of asked for better. Recommended dishes at our request and I honestly loved every mouthful. We were traveling home from Somerset and decided to have a meal this Indian was an excellent choice the food was amazing. We do like a curry night, but two nights in a row? That's how highly we rate these guys! Several starters and six different mains over the two visits and all of us had great food.In fact, we were so pleased that after meal 1 we booked for the following week; excellent!

Have visited Cardomon on numerous occasions both for takeaway and dine in.Always very clean and courteous, good knowledge of dishes advice on whats good to eat, spices and allergies. Extensive reasonably priced menu, akbori bhojon is my favourite. Also well known for their fund raising events for local causes, a credit to Alcester.

This has got to be our favourite take away in Alcester. The food is always freshly cooked, very tasty and well presented. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Overall a great meal at a good value which is why we order regularly. Best wishes Graeme & Natasha

It"s been an age since I had a curry #lockdown and it was well worth the wait. They were understandably extremely busy, but they managed the whole social distancing thing very well. The team were courteous, friendly and efficient and the food was delicious and so much of it (I feel fat) Will definitely be eating in too, once things are back to normal!

First time decided to Dine it at the Cardamom, usually we have take aways, first impression, place looks amazing and fresh, very clean and lovely decor, food was very tasty,service was wonderful, we was served by Jango, nothing was to much to ask for, he recomended me to try the momtaz Balti, delisous dish, will definitely be back!

First and last time we would use this place, it came highly recommended, the restaurant is nice,clean and bright. Upon entering the friendly waiter greeted our wife’s with an attempted kiss to the cheek, my wife found this unacceptable and pulled away, Don’t invade anyone’s personal space, without an invite again. The table service was ok and food came out pretty quick after ordering, the same waiter who took the orders, began serving the main dishes from the trolley having heated the dishes, I began eating my curry and was told he’d given me the wrong dish and passed it to my friend, he gave me another, which I began eating and guess what ? , wrong again it was my wife’s dish, third time with only two dishes left he got it right ! He seemed to find the whole thing rather amusing, well we didn’t !

New Year's evening. Very few restaurants open including our hotel. Found Cardamon on internet. Good meal, friendly staff and taking our own wine and beer made it an inexpensive night out. Would certainly return and recommend.

I live local and would say it’s one of the better curry houses in the area. Ordered or ate in a fair few times now. Meals have been consistently good. Staff sometimes look overworked and stressed and this reflects in having to wait longer than expected for your food, but have never felt it was long enough to warrant a complaint.Freebies (onion bhajis, Sag Aloo, etc) often given for takeaway orders which is a nice touch.

I have been going to this curry house for about 10 years and I can honestly say I've never been anywhere more friendly, welcoming, and professional. The staff are amazing, the food is always incredible and you can take your own drinks. Absolutely flawless

We had our Christmas dinner here last night. 22 people in total. We had to order our menu choices in advance. The service was faultless. Even though we were a large, noisy group of gentlemen, we were made to feel extremely welcome. The food was excellent as usual. Being able to bring our own alcohol was a bonus. Thank you, Cardamom.

Four of us went to Cardamom about 10 days ago where we were given a very friendly welcome. Our waiter 'Ali' he was very helpful, chatty and even entertaining. Two of our party were unsure what to order as they don't eat a lot of Indian food, they both described the type of ingredients and spices they liked and Ali not only suggested a certain type of curry but made alterations to the ingredients to suit. All 4 of us agreed that all the food was excellent. We will all be returning and I highly recommend this place.

We called here on a Sunday evening when most other places had stopped doing food how lucky were we. The service was exceptional felt well looked after but not over the top. The food was also excellent and very reasonable for the amount you received. The only problem I can think of is it’s not licensed but otherwise a great evening out .

My wife is a very pinickity curry eater, whereas I enjoy a curry wherever I find it, but we both extremely enjoyed last night's meal. Plenty of choice, generous servings, and full of flavour. Our waiter Ali (who was excellent) took great exception to my pronunciation of 'sylheti' - I will get it right when we next return - which we most definitely will. Looking forward to my doggy-bag takehome!

Cardamom is a real gem - Ali is a fantastic host, and the food is always fresh and delicious. No alcohol license so take a bottle of something nice and they'll take care of it for you. Busy at the weekend but weeknights there is plenty of space and the service is extra-attentive.

Lovely curry, all my mates enjoyed their time, and Ali is a legend. Arguably the best curryhouse in the Midlands.

After eating at cardamoms with my group of friends on only a few occasion we now love coming to eat fine quality curry; served by fantastic friendly staff and we are always felt welcome. They serve food till late and always try to find space if it’s busy. A perfect place to come for food if you’ve been for a couple pints and fancy a nice meal.

Decided to treat my son and I to a takeaway, first time in ages. We had beautifully crisp poppadoms with dip and onion salad, A tasty mild dish called Sonali Murgh which had gorgeous chicken in a creamy sauce with mushroom pilau and paratha. All just perfect. And such good value especially when delivery is free. Thank you for a smashing meal.

Sat ou for another curry house the night we visited Carhow thankful were we. Cardamon gave us a lovely experience. Ali was our waiter and nothing was to much trouble for him. The food was lovely and we learned our lesson that we need to bring our own alcohol with us next time.

I visited Cardamom again last week (4th time in 4 months). I don’t live locally but have family in the area so whenever I’m over this way, I am now suggesting we eat at Cardamom. It is by far the best Indian restaurant I have been to in a long while so much so I do not go to my local one as I would rather wait until I am in Alcester again and can visit Cardamom.

Fab extra tasty food and great service by Ali who was friendly and full of humor. We had poppadoms some starters main courses and a dessert - all were delicious and we had help opening our drinks and plenty of ice too. Will be returning as everyone loved their food. Such good value too. We are lucky it’s our local. Well done Ali .

Went Saturday night for a get together with my son and his partner, staff are so friendly and the food was perfect. We were looked after by Ali who as always went out of his way to make sure everything was okay. We will be back soon.

Visited Cardamoms for the first time on Father's Day, with family and friends, there were 10 of us. The staff, especially Ali, were very welcoming and friendly and made our evening most enjoyable. The menu was extensive, difficult to choose from so many tempting dishes. I chose the chicken rogan josh, it was superb. All the meals were cooked fresh and everyone was more than pleased with their meals.

Not busy but, it was a Sunday night of a bank holiday. The waiter was a bit moody but, maybe he was having an off day. The food was delicious. The restaurant is clean and welcoming.
