Fabulous find, very personal shopping experience, nothing is too much trouble and owners have always got time for you. I had to return a gift that unfortunately developed a fault, no trouble at all and had a replacement ready for me. Love this shop

My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice cafe for lunch and found this gem. Instantly we were welcomed and made to feel at home by the lovely owners, Philip and Anke. A brilliant selection of drinks, lunch time treats and cakes - their smashed avocado on Rye bread was absolutely delicious! So happy we found this gorgeous cafe, would throughly recommend. Rare to feel so welcomed in a cafe, and we really appreciated it. We will definitely be coming back in the future :)

The shop is very inviting so we stopped for tea and cake. We had a cup of tea and spiced chai latte, delicious! Followed by a slice of coffee and walnut cake with lots of nuts and a gluten free lemon cake, all yum! I also purchased some lovely coasters and a Christmas decoration. So an expensive tea break at £68 but well worth it 🙂

Went with my wife today for drinks and a cake before we headed home. I had the iced coffee with cream which was really good and my wife had a coke. We shared a slice of cherry and marzipan cake which was gorgeous. Service was fine and it's a very nice little shop. Have a bottle of tap water if you go here even that's good !

Came across this lovely little tea room when visiting Rochester. The lady owner was very friendly and chatty. Had a latte and my husband had a cappuccino, in fact he had two has it was so nice. Not expensive. They were also selling lots of different trinkets for the home and garden. Would go back and definitely recommend.

I have visited capture the castle in the past and purchased items but never stayed for tea or cakes. I came along during the week with my mum and my sister, we were going to take a seat as my mum and dad regularly eat in here, the guy recognised my mum and said hi but when I asked him if they have a toilet his tone completely changed. They have no toilet, which surprised me being that they serve food and drink, but ok that's fine... However as I am 30weeks pregnant, I would not have been able to sit through my whole visit there without one, so I apologised and said I would have to go else where. I felt bad and tried to lighten the mood by saying " I'm sorry I just have a very weak bladder at the moment haha" to which I heard him reply " we don't have to have a toilet!" I was absolutely gobsmacked!!!! I didn't question wether or not they had to have one at all, I was simply saying I would need to go somewhere that does have a customer toilet. I absolutely will never walk through their door ever again! Such a shame that a beautiful looking shop has staff with such ugly manners.

The stunning window display made me enter and I was not disappointed. Stylish homeware and affordable gifts awaited. At the back of the shop are four tables looking out onto a cute courtyard. A small menue, but all freshly prepared and clearly good quality food. Homemade quiche, handmade sandwiches or a hearty soup are on offer, as are yummy cakes. All at reasonable prices and served with a smile. I left feeling refreshed after enjoying a light lunch and a creamy hot chocolate. Ohhh and a wonderful Scandinavian cushion beautifully wrapped! I will recommend this charming business and can't wait to return.

Upon entering I was not made to feel very welcome, my presence was not even acknowledged. The owner was sat at the counter flicking through a catalogue, I felt uncomfortable about asking a question and when I did she was very unhelpful. The shop itself looks lovely and there are some really nice gifts in there but after being made to feel unwelcome I won't go in here again I'd rather take my business to somewhere that is friendly. A real shame as I was looking forward to going there.

A nice shop, how ever £15 for 2 sandwiches and drinks. Doubt will be returning again. To confined, and not enough choice on the menu.

They serve a varied menu including hot food. However the day we visited he could only oblige with drinks/cakes. I asked for glass tap water and was served chilled water with fresh mint. very refreshing.

Love this place, good food (lovely after a hard morning canoeing), lovely owners who always have time for you, even when busy and although this appears to bother another reviewer, the personal touch goes a long way to keeping a loyal customer base. The fabulous home goods have a truly individual feel and it's a great place for picking up those special unique gifts and cards, with coffee and cake to follow.

This was our second visit here and how disappointing! The first was ok so we returned but when we walked in the owner was chatting to a friend and although we stood there she couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge us! You'd think with so much choice in Rochester no one would be so complacent to think you'd return if they can dismiss your custom so easily! Felt she was very rude and unwelcoming so went to another just around the corner where our custom was appreciated.

This is a tiny coffee shop located at the back and part of a small gift shop. It has a good location near the castle. Coffee and cake was all fine - enjoyed the biscuit that came with the drinks. I couldn't see a loo but maybe you can use one if you ask.

Delicious sandwiches and cakes at the back of a fascinating gift shop. The sandwiches are served with salad trim and coleslaw, and the cakes are to die for. Light and bright, this is a lovely place to relax.

On our recent trip back to our old hometown Rochester, Kent, we once again spent time in Capture the Castle, a gift shop and cafe combined. The food is great, as usual, and you can find that special gift for that special person on the shelves. Philip and Anke are the proprietors and they cater for small groups at a small number of tables in the rear of the shop. Many come to browse and end up staying for lunch or afternoon tea, vowing to return as soon as possible. Capture the Castle will capture your interest and your heart.

Capture the Castle is a unique and stylish shop offering stylish individual products sourced from all over Europe. It is refreshing to see this on any Bristish high street as all you seem to get is chain after chain after high street chain.

I've been to a lot of tea shops recently but I chose this one to review because it's definitely got the best name. I wanted to come here when I saw it in the street because I like chess and it reminded me of a chess move though you wouldn't really capture a castle you would take it. Also when your a kid you sometimes have a pretend castle so if ever have a tea shop I'll call it take the castle then people won't get confused. Also it probably won't be in Rochester even though Rochester is lovely. It'll be in East London because that's where I live. North East.

This place just has 4 or 5 small tables at the back of the shop, small, very clean and cool on hot days it offers something a bit different to the normal tea shops. The service is excellent and very friendly. There were no tables yesterday - its size makes it a nice place, but down side is that tables are hard to get - the owner rang me when one became free. I think the wait is worth it, even though we're talking tea shop here. It has a smallish menu of the usual stuff and a few gateaux but I like the cream teas, two medium sized scones, jam, clotted cream and fresh strawberries £4.25.

I had the best Sunday roast at Cafe Nucleus Rainham! 😍 The atmosphere was so cozy and welcoming, with a stylish and relaxed vibe that made it the perfect place to spend a Sunday. The roast was incredible—tender, flavorful meat, perfectly crispy potatoes, and all the classic trimmings done just right. The gravy and cheesy cauliflowers was next-level! The staff were super friendly too. If you’re after a top-notch Sunday roast, this is the spot!

Me and my wife love going out for an Indian so we thought we would try the shozna, in fairness the food was good, but the drinks are overpriced and we felt very rushed on each course, I had heard they rush you to finish at the shozna and we definitely experienced that unfortunately...
