Captains Table in Warrington

Our favourite chippie. Batter consistency on the fish is a bit variable depending on who is serving on the night, but you can't fault the fish. Always big and tasty.

I've visited a number of times over the years, but today I pre ordered my food. App said pickup in 10 mins. Picked up 10 mins later, went home to find the whole meal overcooked and barely warm. Not very impressed! Come on Culcheth Chippy, you can do better.

A very average chip shop. It used to be one of the best. The food had been kept warm too long. Not fresh. The staff not especially friendly or efficient.

The chips were soggy the fish was cold, and the mushy peas tasted sour. The staff at the front counter very impatient ,unhelpful and rude, they obviously do not enjoy their jobs. I will never visit this place againnor recomend to anyone.

Just wanted to say the food was excellent and has been consistently good , i think its the best chippy in the area by a mile .

Ordered a delivery. Only received half the order, so had to go out to purchase additional items. Can’t get through to speak to anyone. The items that we did receive were awful, Fish was greasy and tasted old. The gravy and curry where that congealed, had to use a spoon to get the sauce out. Really unimpressed. Would never use again.

Ordered on Just Eat. Food was 45 minutes late. When it finally arrived the driver had no idea which order was ours then gave us the wrong order. Called them and told them, they apologised and sent the driver back. When we finally got our fish and chips it was cold, soggy and tasteless. The fish were tiny, the batter was far too thick and wasn’t cooked properly so it was lumpy and squishy inside. Made me feel sick. Boyfriend ordered garlic mushrooms with salad - the “salad” was a handful of rotting lettuce leaves. Disgusting. Won’t be ordering again.

I could not believe it when I went to this fish and chip next to the co-op shop. The way the older man treated the staff member was disgusting. Not only did he shout him indirectly to another foreign man, who I think was a part-owner, but he shouted about him in what appeared to be Turkish or other eastern European language in front of me. It was truly disgusting behaviour and clearly the owners have no idea how to treat staff. This place should be avoided at all times it was shocking behaviour to the staff member. We don't talk like that to staff in this country and we don't want culcheth turned into a place for abusive, rude food outlet owners. Shocking behaviour.

Had to cancel the delivery it so late. Called to complain and got hung up on. Food past few times has been awe full.

I mean seriously how hard is it to make a tasty kebab? The person who served me looked like offend her before I spoke. Awful place now, not what it was. Culcheth will tell you

Fish , and chips or other often obtained for us and visitors. Large portions of chips in usual Lancashire style..

The food is fresh and cooked to order. Reasonable price. Very tasty. Might want to salt and vinegar your own if you don't want a lot of salt! There's no seating but there are a couple of park benches around to sit outside, or there's always the car. There's plenty of parking just outside the door.

This is the Fish n Chip Shop adjacent to the Coop Supermarket , they are always very busy so food is always fresh ,excellent prices , and service

On the last three visits to this place the chips have finished up in the bin, overcooked, under cooked and nothing but scraps. I also when I asked if I could have a lightly battered fish " they are all lightly battered pal ". Won't be bothering them again.

Fair play this is a great take away and you can get everything from your chip shop staples, to pizza and kebabs. Only around the corner from us so it's really handy but the food really is brilliant. Chips always fresh which is a biggie for me.

Been to the captains table a fair few times and no matter what i have ordered it has always been fantastic.

Expensive chicken kebab meat had bones and skin not alot of flavour owing to being kept warm .Fish was nice but small compared to other chippies in area

Delivered 10 minutes earlier than they told us. Food piping hot. Great value. Great dinner and chicken kebabs and the salad is fresh. Excellent kids dinners. Will use again and again when I want a decent kebab!

We visit this establishment weekly after the kids have completed 2hrs of sport every thursday, very friendly staff, freshly cooked items, excellent value would recommend

I think one previous reviewers have had a case of mistaken outlets , this a modern fish n chip shop , situated between the optician, & coop No restaurant serving good value fast food > freshly cooked , very busy @ certain times .

We can fully recommend this Take Away if its next to the Coop , This has had a few owners in the last few years , but the present owners have extended the unit , modernised with latest equipment , serve excellent range of fish , chips , kebabs etc If you fancy your fish with little or no batter , ask and they will be pleased to obliged , usually very busy , plenty of staff , quick turnover , very good
