Absolute rubbishspent nearly 2 hours trying to pay for a meal wouldn't accept payment

We ordered through just ear. Order was late and only half the order turned up. They said they'd bring the rest but didn't. Food was cold and pie very undercooked.

We ordered 2 lots of fish & chips with peas the fish was yellow in colour like a frozen fish warmed up over cooked the chips were grey & old absolutely awful the worst meal I have ever ordered & all going in the bin an absolute waste of my money disgusting

Here on the 29th of march 2024 ordered fish and chips twice they opened at 4:30 I was the only one in there left at 5 past 5 with my fish and chips got home chips were raw fish was green and like rubber where it had been overcooked never again will I use this place

Absolutely awful! Chicken black bean it wasnt. Some kind of chicken extract. Tasteless and cold. Chips must have been from last weekend! Stale. Waste a f money. Left it. Couldn’t eat it

This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks I have been for my tea at this fryer. Last week I just ordered chips and a carton of curry sauce. I live literally 4 minutes away in the car. I came home to slightly warm chips and boiling hot curry sauce. I was a little perplexed. Today I ordered just the chips. 4 minutes to get home in the car and again the chips were not hot. They were barely warm and very hard, like they were from much earlier on. I’ll never go there again. A waste of money. They went in the bin.

Wish I'd read the reviews before ordering. £35 of cold bland food went straight in the bin. Rice box deformed by heat too. All in the bin.

We have been using Stockton Fryer for a long time and were very disappointed with the food this evening! We spent £30 on our takeaway (Stockton Heath prices!) and the majority of it has gone in the bin. The sweet & sour chicken - chicken was dry, tough and stringy, the chips were rock hard and inedible, the fried rice was cold, need I go on? We are extremely disappointed and should really be given a full refund. Stockton Heath prices demand Stockton Heath quality.

Chips like rubber, curry tasteless fish was ok.

Without doubt the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had! Sweet and sour king prawns with chips. The batter had slimed off the prawns, the sauce looked radio active and was way too sweet and the chips were cold and actually hard, they’d clearly been fried hours before. I have used this place for years and it has always irritated me that when you order Chinese they put up the chips straight away on a warmer so they’re always luke warm at best by the time your food comes through and you get home. I did question this once and got a snotty reply. Would it be so hard to do the chips as soon as the meal is ready?! Needless to say the meal ended up in the bin tonight. I couldn’t be bothered taking it back because of the hassle I’d have got. Today was a new low though. I’ll never be using them again, so why bother leaving a review? Because I want to save other people’s money and don’t want them to have the same experience. Just go somewhere else, trust me it’ll be worth it!

Rock hard chips and a bit expensive to be honest £7.70 for "large chips" that were rock hard large sausage and a fishcake I won't be returning 😞

Shockingly bad. Bought a kebab and chips from here. The kebab meat was particularly greasey, the pitta bread was dry and hasn't even been sliced for me, just placed in the bag and the chips were dry, chewy and undercooked. Not only that but I had a dodgy stomach all night and through into the next day. In addition to the lack of quality of the food, the staff weren't friendly either which sums up the whole experience. This was my first time back in a couple of years and it's definitely gone down in my estimation. Certainly won't be coming back here again that's for sure

This is a great chippy, it had me covered anything I fancied was on the menu. Chinese, Kebabs, fish. It was all available. I can only vouch for the one meal I had, but Ill defo go back for another try. or maybe delivery. Staff where a buzz too. Recently I have noticed that it's more about the kebabs and pizzas 🍕 but it's still good quality.

The mixed meat and chips kebab is tasty and good value.

Ordered chowmein chips and curry. The chips came with chicken nuggets! OK let that one slide but the chips were disgustingly greasy and undercooked, worst I've ever tasted. The chowmein is usually good but seems extra greasy and the egg just didn't taste like an egg. Offered a discount off my next order for my chips after I called, should have refunded the whole thing. Think I will say bye to this once great chippy that has clearly gone down hill.

Bought 2 pizzas and chips and some chicken donner from here today after reading these reviews ..Well it was awful chips wernt even cooked properly just a soggy mess on tray as for pizzas the base was that soggy as soon as you lifted a slice out of box the toppings just slid of as it bent and folded, ended up just throwing it in the bin .definately won't be going here again

I ordered rice and Chinese curry. They have me a table spoon worth of curry with tons of rice, which was so dry and tasteless. Would highly recommend not to get any good from them.

First time trying as fella lives in the area, had very nice and quick service however the food is not the best , will admit the donner meat was lovely but gravy and chips were not the best as the gravy had no flavour

Very disappointed, I've ordered from here before, and was always good. Tonight waited 1 hour for it to arrive. To start the beef in a black bean sauce was OK....., soup cold, and tasteless. The chips were soggy and soaked in grease. The prawn toast was absolutely vile. It was that greasy, made me feel sick, so it went straight in the bin. Spring rolls under cooked. Also in the bin. Prawn crackers had a split in the bag, so we're rock hard, as the air had got to them. Spent £20.85 for this meal. And ate a few mouthfuls, I feel like just drank oil. Discusting, and very disappointed, I hate to leave poor reviews, but after that mess of a meal, I felt I should!

Just purchased fish and chips 3 times. Absolutely disgusting fish. No taste and all the fish were mushy. Gosh should be flaky and fresh. All of us left our fish. Don’t waste your money.

One of the worst chippies I've ever had. Fish was greasy as anything, paper was soaked through. It was also sloppy and somehow slimy which made me think it might have been off, ending up going in the bin. Curry sauce was way too thick and mushy peas were a neon green. Food was cold by the time we collected, probably because the girl on the phone didn't ask me what time I wanted to collect and hung the phone up before I could ask. Final point is they don't take card either.

Worst mixed kebab I've had in warrington, my wife recommended it as she was brought up in Stockton heath. Tonight we was both left disappointed, cold salt and pepper chips meat full of oil to the point when it arrived the paper packaging was soggy. Sorry won't be ordering here again.

Decent chips at a good price. would have preferred an option for larger portions and in a bag not a box, but decent price so no complaints.

Had fish, chips and battered sausage. Very disappointing with the batter on both items not even crispy with it being soggy and the chips were not cooked. Horrible place and would not come again 🤦🏼‍♂️ paid an extra £2 for battered sausage with not batter even on it.

Ordered donner wraps, chips and garlic bread. Possibly the worst chips I have ever had, no taste, very pale and hard. Really disappointed.

We pass three chippies to actually get to this place. Never had a bed meal here. Just had our 4th visit and they did not disappoint. and they TAKE CASH! which is another plus. Any place that refuses my cash never gets my custom. Well done!

How can a chippy get gravy so wrong? Chips were fresh from the fryer but tasted awful, maybe needs a change of oil? Gravy is awful!! Really greasy after taste! No covid measures in place. Not been there for years and won’t be going again!

Ordered a takeaway here through Uber eats. Over an hour later compared to time given. Rang 2 times to be told it was on route. Driver then decided when he did want to turn up to continue ringing the door bell untill I got to the door at 9.30pm with 2 kids in bed. Definitely not what it used to be

First time i have ordered from here and it will surely be the last. Ordered fish and chips with scallops and prawn toast. The chips tasted like rubber they were cold and dry, the fish was drenched in oil so it was tastless. The prawn toast was burnt so badly it was not even edible. It was not to human consumption. I called the takeaway to make them aware of my order and how i was unhappy as i had not eaten in return i was told next time you come in we will give you some free scallops. You are happy to take customers money but cannot provide a decent service food was appauling as was the customer service. A big thumbs down for this place 👎

Worse ever chippy lunch One star rates it to high. Luke warm chips and cold peas and curry . At 11.45 am....clearly re heated chips from the day before . Congratulations.....you saved a few pence on left overs and have lost a regular customer . Went straight in the bin

Online ordering is fab!! Very detailed menu and gives options of salt and vinegar on chips or sauces and salad on kebabs plus many other add on options. Very impressed. Will definitely order online again. 5*

Ordered on there website said it would be 60 minutes minutes still waiting nearly 2 hours Phoned twice its with driver, if you have no control over your website don't put delivery times on the orders..Add to insult the hallumi fries where missing.

Good range of gluten and dairy free English and Chinese meal....separate fryer for great gluten and dairy free fish and chips....working my way through the Chinese meals but the ones I’ve had so far are great. Not to good for vegan meals, so not fab for my daughter....

The food has gone down hill and the service is really terrible. Don’t know the name of the girl/ woman who served us but she was really quite unfriendly and arrogant.

The last time I ordered from this place we ordered from here we had a missing chips from our order. As part of the order we had some sweet and sour sauce to go with the chips that did arrive but we had no chips to go with it. The person who dealt with this call said they would give the chips with our next order. Rang up to day and a young girl answered the phone. She acknowledged the missing chips but when I asked for the sauce to go with it she point blank refused to give this and we had to pay. When I explained the circumstances around our previous order she said that wasn’t their problem as we had received the sauce I said that it had to go in the bun as we didn’t get our chips. She said that she wasn’t going to provide us with sauce. She said that the business had come under new ownership since July. When I asked to speak to a manger she said “no” because they are hardly there and they don’t speak English. I then tried to order my food and she said I was speaking to fast and I was trying to make her make a mistake. I was shocked and said this was not the case She called me pedantic and then hung up on me. This young girl was an absolute disgrace and should not be working with people. So if you have any compliant don’t expect to be dealt with like a human being. Unbelievable! People do not deserved to be spoken to like this

The worst crap I've ever paid for! THE meal was COLD and delivered in crushed containers. I WILL NOT BE ORDERING AGAIN. WASTE OF MONEY. THIS USED to be a brilliant takeaway. Now it's to be avoided.

The photo is what is supposed to be a steak and kidney pie, is was as hard as rock, dry as a ditch, hardly any meat and no kidney, at £1.80 it was a disgrace and unedible. The fish my wife and son had was thin, looked cheap and the batter was poor. I have lived in Appleton for 19 years and bought more takeaways from the Stockton Fryer than I can remember under several different owners, if this is the standard of food post lockdown I'll be going to Cantilever instead.

I've been usng this chippy for nearly 18 years, however tonights meal was a disgrace, the fish was gooey, the batter thin and soggy and a steak and kidney pie that was tiny, dry, rock hard with no kidney. This was a popular, good value and good quality fish and chip shop. I reccomend that if you live locally go the cantilever chippy even if it is a lttle farther away,

Poor social distancing, notice on door said max 2 but people just came and went, no enforcement from staff. Felt uncomfortable but I'd already ordered. Fish was greasy, overcooked and tasted like it had been sat there for some considerable time. Carton of peas was just juice and chips poorly cooked. Threw most of mine in the bin. My wife's Chinese meal was below adequate.

Visited last night having desperately wanting Fish Chips and fruity curry all day. I love fresh food whatever it is and on returning home was eagre to open the paper and dive in! It should have been a large cod which it wasn't. It was small and tasteless. The chips were plentiful but old and cold. The fruity curry was not fruity and not well made. A large proportion of my wifes meal and mine was given to our dogs and they sniffed their noses up and left it. A great disappointment. Always vote with my feer and we will not be returning to give them our business again

Honestly can say it was the worst donner I have ever had. Meat Seems to have been sat around for a long time and had burnt bits. Not one to waste a kebab or give bad reviews but the half that I did eat kept me up all night.

It’s Under NEW management now and you can certainly tell. Lovely food, friendly staff and helpful with the menu. Had a grilled kebab, plenty in the portion for the price, better price and size than other places locally.

So the people who own Stockton fryer are so lovely & friendly & the food is always really nice.. however when I ring up to place an order for delivery the young girl who answers is always very rude & quite sarcastic. Needs to change her attitude for future reference. It puts me off ordering sometimes, which is a shame

Prices are extortionate for the quality. Mixed meat with boiled rice £16.20 for one persons takeaway meal!! Meat sliced thin so dry and pretty tasteless really. Wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend

Travelling the country with work and in high end catering I've unfortunately become a connoisseur of these places! I ordered a donor wrap, as i always have it with mayo onions and chilli. It was terrible!! The chips from the fish and chip shop were fabulous but I'm afraid guys if you have that I need a kebab feeling, then somebody say JustEat!!

Very poor quality food for the price, was pretty poor before it changed hands & now it’s even worse. Using very cheap ingredients. Ordered salt & pepper chips, looked warmed up from dinner time & covered in a red sauce, haven’t a clue what it was. I’ve never seen salt & pepper chips served like that before. Donner meat must be the cheapest they can find, you might as well chew an old trainer it will feel less rubbery!

Always decent service, never had any issues. Friendly staff. Good chips, good fish, decent portions. What's not to like!
