Captains Fish & Chips in Birmingham

The chips are fresh, but you have to wait for them to be cooked every time. Ordered kebab before, and they microwave it, and it was shrivelled and dry. Also, pies are microwaved. I just go I there for chips now as they are very nice. The bottom line is that it's hit and miss. Some good, some bad. Nice people, and I hope they step their game up soon and succeed 🙏 👍

The food here is nice- but the service is terrible since the lady’s have started working in the shop, they don’t seem to know what they are doing. There’s never any chips prepared, always a very long wait to get the food. Very slow service

The taste of food is very bad and the atmosphere is not friendly which is really disappointing..

The place was so unhygienic and the staff has no manners how to treat there customers. Even there is flies buzz everywhere in the shop. I decided to complaint enivornmental health officer.

Update July 2024 they've gotten a lot better the chips have been lovely (4 stars The people are really lovely 🥰 Update.june 2024 Recently the chippy hasn't been so great 😥 sorry to say...the chips are Luke warm and quite hard and meat was rubbery (2 stars) 👇 I wrote this when it 1st opened and I meant it! What has happened? best chippy in Quinton!! The prices are very reasonable & portions are satisfying! The staff are very friendly. My favourite is the southern fried chicken, only when I get a huge piece lol... heres a pic of opening & of the menu 💝🤗 oh yeah you can specify which chips you want bettered or plain ( I prefer plain) The people are really lovely 🌻

The ‘customer service’ is horrible. They are rude, nasty and unprofessional. The chips are cold and not fresh tasting.

Had food from there before & I loved it. But I got fish & chips from their recently with battered chips & it was absolutely vile. They didn't even give proper fish it was frozen fish from supermarkets & the chips was old left over chips. Will never be going there again absolute disgrace.

its such a nice well clean fish and chips and the staff member are too friendly like family even the food is much tasty

food was nearly 1.5hrs late, took over 2 hrs in total. tried to call 38 times, no answer. food got delivered eventually. it smelt funny, like the fish was off. felt cool to the touch. checked temp of fish using food probe, was only 47°, danger zone for temperature of any meat or fish. ended up driving to the chip shop, explained the issues and asked for a refund, only to be told to claim it off just eat. absolutely disgusting service

Battered chips for the win, fish bites were big and fresh & the scampi was on point.. curry sauce was not to thick and not to thin, as Goldilocks said just right... side salad was cut fresh. Did I mention battered chips!!!

Food never came. Rang the chip shop and all I got was a very rude hostile man. Who said "there nothing I can do you will have to call just eat as some picked up your food 15 minutes ago" no sorry nothing just rudeness and no customer service at. They need to get there staff some manners and customer service lessons.

Never got delivered even after speaking to the driver twice, to explain our address, even rang Captains who advised the driver had gone back to the shop with the order, so explained our address again, and the driver never delivered the food, Just Eat drivers are getting terrible on delivering orders and are causes businesses to loose customers, this is unfair, Just Eat need to do something excellent to make me use them again, this has happened on several occasions with their drivers, causes customers and businesses to loose money and they gain the money, absolutely DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR, Captains was brilliant when got in touch with them again after non delivery, they offered to re do our order and deliver it personally,

First time ordered from here, it was awful, food very greasy and the chicken pierces wasn’t cooked properly all pink in the middle, we will not be ordering from here again, one of the worst fish and chips shops I have come across

I usually support our local shop. This is a new one. I ordered chicken doner with chips and I asked their they are good and fresh not from yesterday and they assured me that it was very fresh. But when I got home it wasn’t chicken it was something like cardboard the worst chicken I have ever had. I threw the into the bin straight away. It is not just the quality, they lied easily without any shame. Please never buy food from this horrible shop.

The worst fish smd chips I had in my life, honestly I don't know whether was it even ok to be consumed by humans, the chips had a bitter taste. After eating I immediately had stomach pain. This restaurant should be removed from Just Eat and I hope it either changes the chef or shuts down.

The food here is awesome and those battered chips are divine. In-store prices are ok and portions generous. The staff are always pleasant and friendly too. Highly recommended!! The only negative is there can be gangs of youngsters outside/inside the shop which can be intimidating

The batter on the fish was really thick and soggy. Not really to my taste. The peas were cold. And my 'cold' drink was put in the same bag as the food so it was warm.

Can only comment that these are the best chips I have ever tasted n I been around a while...oldie...ha..

The mrs was craving battered chip and locally, these guys were the only ones that did them. We both enjoyed them a lot. We’d both had donner meat as well which was good. Although it was hard to select salad or sauce with the donner burger due to the options on just eat. Overall was very enjoyable.
