We have always loved our annual stay at the Captains club for the last 14 years, we have experienced wonderful service from the house keepers to the bar and restuarant staff. This May 24th 25th we brought 14 guests with us to celebrate my 60th Birthday some have stayed before some it was there 1st time. We noticed on arrival it was not as friendly smiley welcome that we have previously had. I had booked the resaurant for the Sunday night 8pm for 16 of us, we didnt get our starter untill 9.45pm and two starters were missing we then had to wait 20 minutes for the missing two salads, we finally got our mains by 10.30pm but again some food was missing ie hand cut chips when they finally dleivered the chips some of them were raw and under cooked. It was so dissapointing as we have always had excellent food and service in the restaurant before, the waiting staff did try to sort it out but it all got to late for us to enjoy our meals, I hope things get back on track, as this truley is our favourate hotel for a weekend break. One of our windows in the room didn’t close. I told the housekeeper, who said she knew and it was due to be repaired, and two different receptionists who said sorry but offered no solution There was a note on the table that said that midges could be a problem. I react badly to bites, so I was concerned. It was fine in the end as it was quite a windy night, but I was disappointed that no attempt was made to resolve the problem. Otherwise it’s a nice place in a lovely location and the breakfast was great.

Have just returned from a 3 night break with my husband and were so pleased with the Captains Club, which was our first visit. The view from our room was amazing to see all the action on the river, watching rowing boats and pedal boards. Plus the room was great. I am disabled and was able to feel very comfortable. I have a scooter which folds like a suitcase and was able to keep in our room. I needed the scooter to enable me to access the towpath along the river. All the staff were brilliant. We were happy with the menu and food was well presented. Look forward to another visit in the summer. Thank you to everyone at the Hotel.

We have recently returned from a three night stay at The Captain’s Club on the banks of the river in Christchurch. This is a fabulous location and we enjoyed sitting and watching all the activity on the river. Another great plus is the staff who work at the hotel, without exception they were courteous friendly and helpful. Luke the sommelier and Harry the restaurant manager were both fabulous helping us to choose wine and food pairings. Katie in the spa is a fabulous therapist and I recommend a visit if you need to wind down and relax. Jane and Jacob on reception were extremely helpful and reassuring when we almost had to postpone our trip due to a hospital admission. And finally the lovely lady that cleaned our room (103) did a fabulous job keeping it looking as good as when we first walked in Every day. We had an accessible room which was spacious and had all of the aids that we needed in the bathroom to make it easy for a wheelchair user to use the facilities independently. We will definitely return to this lovely hotel.

IF - I could score this place higher - then I would!! Another lovely stay at the Captains Club. The ambience, the facilities, the food, the service all top drawer. We have just had our second stay at Catain's Club, sadly only one night as we specifically came down for a concert at the BIC. Everything is faultless. The breakfast is amazing, good quality and plentiful, very good waiting service. The rooms are spotless, amazing views and everything you need supplied. A big shout out to the amazing housekeeping team for their hard work which is apparant everywhere within the hotel. We are back in June for another night and we are bringing our little dog Dolly with us to enjoy the experience. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so special.

We cannot speak too highly of the hotel, the service, location and restaurant. We arrived early (10:15) to find a car parking space reserved for us, enjoyed a relaxing coffee. Our room was ready for us by 11:30 which enabled us to change before going to a birthday celebration at the Yacht Club. Whatever we asked for was provided with a smile and efficiency. The view from our room over the river was great as was the room, and our evening meal was superb. A thoroughly enjoyable short stay. Our thanks to the hotel and all their staff. David and Jan

"I recently stayed at this lovely hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed. The location was fantastic, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The wine waiter was particularly great, offering many suggestions for the perfect wine to accompany the fabulous food. We normally stay at The Harbour Hotel which is lovely also but I think the staff at Captains Club make this hotel a special place. Loved lying in bed in the mornings watching the dogs play in the river. You will definitely be seeing us again soon. Room 108 Thomas xxx

My wife and I spent three nights at the beginning of May.The location and setting are excellent and the staff superb. The room was very good apart from the shower which could do with a hand rail. I have known of and used the hotel restaurant for many years, but this was the first time I had stayed. The staff could not have been more helpful and with my wife being disabled and the room we were allocated having all the bathroom/shower amenities required, meant that she was able to cope extremely well. The breakfast room servicem is to be commended, we just wished we were younger to do it justice! One comment, a higher easy chair would have made sitting down easier for her. We will definitelybe staying again and would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

I chose to celebrate my 80th birthday with a family weekend and we had a wonderful time. The crew were outstanding, food as delicious as ever and with the lovely weather we were on the terrace for lot of the time. Everyone was so helpful & friendly and our private dinner party was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again & I’m already planning our next trip. My wife and I attended the Robbie Williams Tribute event at the Hotel which was excellent and we already look forward to coming again next time Tony is back there. We also stayed overnight which was overall very pleasant, however, as others have said, maybe it is time for bit of a refurb / refresh and install things like USB sockets and power sockets both sides of the bed and a shaving / make up mirror somewhere! The staff are all excellent and our food during the stay also excellent, well done Tony and the team.

We had a wonderful meal, and I can't fault it in any way. It was perfection. I had the monk fish curry, and hubby had the seabass. The waitress did pour water over the table, and I was really rude and showed her how to pour water from a jug into a glass! She just carried on and was polite, etc. I would never normally behave like this, but I was very tired and grumpy. She was excellent and I decided to apologise and behave, hahaha.

This was our first visit and certainly not our last ! Reservation and registration were welcoming and easy . Having a reserved allocated parking space near the entrance was great and we accepted the offer of assistance with our luggage . The room was clean and very comfortable with lovely views over the river . Breakfast was a leisurely affair with plenty of choice . We had dinner three times and found the menu selection and the service excellent . What impressed us most during our stay was the friendly , professional staff , going out of their way to be helpful and taking their role very seriously . We look forward to our return !

We stayed March 2025. Our room was great with views over the river, clean and well equipped. Hotel is just a short walk along the river to the High Street. The bar and restaurant were very good and food delicious. What impressed us most was the staff, friendly, welcoming reception staff with plenty of information. The bar staff and particularly the restaurant staff were happy and friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again. Thank you.

Very impressed with the Captains Club Hotel - fantastic setting with great access without having to use the car to Christchurch and its shops/coffee shops/restaurants, walks, cycle rides to Hengistbury Head etc. We used the spa and enjoyed the treatments, although as a spa a little small, but well managed in terms of pre-booking a time. Breakfasts excellent with loads of choice and we ate in the hotel one night and the meal was very good. The suite we had was spacious with fab views of the river and beautifully clean. The twin room at the back was somewhat small and got very hot which is why only 4 stars for rooms. The other two rooms were lovely with views of the river and opening windows. Just meant two of our party had a slightly different experience but we were aware of this when we booked. Staff were all very friendly and attentive! We will definitely return and also recommend to others!

In response to the Captains Club I would like to reassure the audience this is not true, I have not heard or spoken to any member of the Captains Club in over a week. My repeated communication has been ignored. I repeatedly gave warnings that legal action would be taken at close of business Friday and it has, your court reference is Claim number: 644MC639 Your claim against PLATINUM ONE HOTELS LIMITED (the defendant) was issued on 22 March 2025 10.30 AM, before your response I find it comical you make reference to social media, but you could of been avoiding this by picking up the phone, but as I have learnt this week that's not a strong point at Captains Club and your response just amplifies my opinion. I remain available anytime Original Post This was once a great hotel, but as the rendering is falling off the walls, it's falling apart organisationally to point we are now on cusp of taking them to court. When it first opened we regularly stayed in the suites and it was amazing, but as weddings became core business, it became to noisy for us, but commercially I get it. I was amazed on my return approx 8 years after last stay, such poor condition. Cigarette butt's in reception doorway and dirt under canopy. Inside rooms nothing had been refreshed mould and bubbling rot painted over. Meal I concede was good and service was excellent. Now my gripe, we got a parking ticket, despite complying with terms and conditions of our stay. We provided registration filled in form and thought nothing off it...until fine turned up. We complained and response has been abysmal. First contact with reception was cold told me to email in, which was hardly surprising as check in, we seemed to be an inconvenience to them and more interested in their own issues. Quite simply all they had to do was get their own car park contractor to remove PCN, but for whatever reason couldn't get it done and nothing gets done unless you repeatedly chase this hotel. The Management has no contact alledgy with contractors running own car park.Over a month later we are sick to back teeth with whole situation. Yes Captains Club paid fine, but by doing that they failed to state my wife would be left with liability. Today they blamed me for appealing fine because you cannot pay and appeal at same time. Its irrelevant if you pay fine you accept liability. The final insult came with this quote in their response "The letter you have been sent from Civil Enforcement is unfortunately outside of our control" which part of its your car park,we are your guests and entered into a contractual agreement by staying a night to park in do you not get. I am so frustrated I am now looking forward to court to just draw a line under matter. We did nothing wrong, but my Wife is left with a legal letter making her legally liable for a parking offence that was a procedural failure of the Captains Club. One night has turned into an unacceptable mess. I would be frightened to return to this hotel, because I just cannot waste my life sorting out parking fines and liabilities. I am sure I will get some corporate response to this, but as with their actual dealing with the matter its hot fluffy air, just get it sorted please

We visited Captains Club on thier Winter Warmers deal to celebrate hubby's 60th birthday. We had a fabulous time,room was upgraded to a suite, with a lovely plate of treats for the birthday boy. Room view was amazing from both lounge and bedroom. Food and drinks were excellent, great atmosphere and very attentive staff. Spa was small, but very warm and plenty of spaces when we booked in both on arrival and day of leaving. Negative.... my usual hotel gripe. No mirror above the dressing table in bedroom. And if you brought a chair in the mirror that was there, it was too high on the wall. So standing to blow dry my hair was the only option. Long mirror was too far from plug. There was a desk and mirror in lounge but Hubby watching the rugby 🏉 Would I return ? 100% yes, I'd bring an extension lead 😅😅 we had a wonderful weekend and felt very chilled and relaxed,

Room was spotless and lovely view. Dinner amazing food and service. Unfortunately breakfast disappointing. Four tables that arrived after us were served first staff did not seem to have a clue of those waiting to order even though still sat with menus. On politely asking if we could order was advised we serve in order of those sitting down which they had definitely not. Also not aware that you needed to book the spa so were unable to use on arrival. It took 15 mins to get order taken and breakfast finally arrived 35 minutes from when first sat down. Other than poor breakfast service it was a lovely stay but further training on awareness of customers arriving and serving in order would be recommended.

This was my 8th stay at the Captains Club and it was the 8th time I had a faultless stay. The check-in process (in my robe) was smooth and polite and Sarah showed us to our suite and offered to carry any luggage and offered any help or information needed. The suite itself was, as always, beautiful and made our stay that extra special. We had the space to relax, sit with comfort and enjoy our weekend. Dinner was fantastic and the food was delicious. The waitress (sadly didn’t get her name) but she was wonderful. Managed to get someone to make a cocktail which wasn’t on the menu for myself, explained the menu and specials and was so polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. After dinner we saw Luke, the wonderful sommelier and he gave us his time and explained all about wines and where they come from and had a lovely chat with him. Such an informative and knowledgeable member of the staff team. We loved hearing all the information he told us. The next morning we had room service with breakfast and the lovely Katie (deputy manager) bought it up for us and made sure everything was perfect before she left. So polite, kind and friendly. Thank-you to Julia for booking our stay and making sure it was as amazing as it is every time we visit The Captains Club. I cannot wait to come back and stay again soon.

What a great hotel, one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. A couple of days before we arrived I was contacted to let me know there was a function in the hotel and that our allocated room was above the function room and would I be happy if they upgraded us to move us to the other end of the hotel - very thoughtful of the staff and much appreciated. Then from check in to checking out, all the staff were all fantastic, they could not have been better. The décor in the whole hotel is spot on, everywhere felt new and very well maintained. Dinner was again perfect, both service and the quality and breakfast was spot on. Thanks for a great stay.

We were booked for Christmas day lunch with them, when unfortunately I had to cancel as Margaret aged 93 years old was feeling unwell, Immediately Emily from the Hotel said we were not to worry,they would bring Christmas lunch to us.Totally amazed,thrilled,That is exactly what they did. The exact menu we had ordered weeks previously for Christmas day arrived Complete wth Crackers and a gift each. The Captains Club went far beyond words to make our day perfect. We are firm fans of the Captains Club Hotel & Spa we visit regularly and have done for many years. My family and I have also stayed in the Hotel as well as celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and having dinner with family and friends. This is a beautiful hotel with river frontage and fabulous river views. We booked Christmas day 2024 and New Years Eve which was unforgettable, what a wonderful experience. The Hotel reception/entrance was beautifully decorated for Christmas, as was the interior, the tables which were just the right distance apart, all set up to add the magic of Christmas all so beautifully decorated. The service, food and atmosphere was impeccable. We all agreed that it was probably the best Christmas dinner that we have ever had. New Years Eve, we had a table for 8 at the Black Tie Dinner Dance, what a fabulous evening!!! We all had another fantastic meal and lots of champagne, everyone enjoyed the entertainment, live music from the band who were great, and the casino tables which were a lot of fun. We wined and dined and then danced our way into 2025 and once again everyone had a fabulous night. We finished the evening off with lovely fresh bacon rolls before heading home around 1 am We cannot fault the service and attention to detail that was put in by all the team at The Captains Club Hotel, we felt the staff couldn’t do enough to help us make magical moments both Christmas and New Year. A big thank you to all the team for a fabulous festive season you all did an amazing job.

This was our second stay at Captains Club and it was fabulous. Our room had a wonderful view of the river and was spacious and immaculate. Our small dog was even provided with her own bed , bowls and treats!. She was welcomed by all members of staff and allowed into the dog friendly areas of the bar and lounge. Dinner with friends in the main restaurant which had a couple of boisterous tables, other than that it was soulless! Server was pleasant, lovely to have river views in the daytime, but evening was looking out into the abyss. Food was ok but sadly not as good as expected. Tempura prawns were very tasty and a big portion as a starter, cheese soufflé did not need arugula on the side, smoked salmon (well you can’t get that wrong), my husband said “it was a safe bet”. Steak served pink but not the best cut, Hake special sauce with sautéed new potatoes & green beans was of good taste but the fish was a tad overcooked. On this occasion it’s a 3 star. Very festive inside & out which was tasteful & appreciated. Last time I ate here was a couple of years ago and it was lunch on the terrace on a warm sunny day with boats meandering past on the river. May give it another couple of years again.

We stayed the night after attending a Xmas party night. We stayed in a 3 bed suite with our friends. The party night was great fun, excellent food and party atmosphere. The suite was amazing, river views, kitchen/lounge area and even decorated with a Xmas tree. Had a lovely relaxing stay. The hotel staff are all super friendly. Can’t wait to return very soon.

Second visit of the year. We normally visit around Christmas as it’s our anniversary. Gorgeous rooms, friendly staff, great location. I was treated to a massage in the spa which was wonderful. Just a couple of comments- there was a wake going on in the bar area that continued for hours and hours which meant all the comfy table and chairs were taken. The staff ended up having to move the dividing rope to enable my husband to have a seat as there just wasn’t enough space for hotel guests. Breakfast was very nice but took such a long time coming and the hotel resident area was empty so have no idea why? However, we have stayed here many many times and will continue to do so as we love cycling around the area and coming back to our beautiful rooms with great views and having a few drinks the bar! The staff are always great!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Christchurch and is right by the river where there is a ferry that crosses.Cannot think of anything negative to comment on. The staff are so helpful and friendly. I noticed that the hotel is used by a lot of local people (always a good sign)for morning coffee when out walking their dog. The breakfast, well there is so much choice I had scrambled egg and smoked salmon it was so good! The rooms are clean everything is provided including a full kitchen is the suites. All at reasonable prices. Will certainly book again next year. Thank you Captains Club for another great stay.

An average afternoon tea with lack of good service. Food was ok but at £25 pp yo7d think it would be a little better with unlimited hot drinks.. but restricted to x2 drinks and only whats served. Although food was enough it was a little tasteless and average. X1 gluten free and x1 normal. Service was just a little lacking, didn't checkin with us, didn't ask if we wanted anything else and even when asked they forgot the drinks.

We had lunch with two friends who had a £50 voucher for the restaurant so we all decided on the 3 course set menu with each of us having different dishes. Nicola gave us excellent service and each dish was beautifully presented BUT we all found the dishes very bland. Maybe the restaurant caters for the demographic in Christchurch that does not like too tasty food. We cannot fault the atmosphere, view and service - just wish the food had more flavour.

First visit to this location, we had a lovely afternoon tea. Great location with a view of river. Staff were fabulous and very friendly. Only slight gripe was there was no soya alternative for my coffee,only oat milk which makes coffee taste like poridge( in my opinion) and at £25 a head thought there should be a few dairy alternatives. However it was a lovely afternoon tea and I would definitely recommend.

Not for the first time I recently had a fabulous massage at the spa, with a lovely glass of wine in the bar after. This is my favourite venue - the spa is just lovely, with wonderful eSpa products and superb ambiance. I once again was lucky enough to have Katy as my masseuse who takes care to listen to your areas of concern. I can’t wait to book again!!

Ordered fries it has taken 25 minutes to arrive once arrived it was nothing but burned 🔥 awful !! Nice staff but cannot be said for the cleanness of the place. It wasn't ! The place wasn't even busy less than 10 people within the bar/ restaurant area what can I say " I was disappointed " .

Six of us for brunch. Three had their orders either wrong or didn't turn up with the rest. Two with hard-boiled poached eggs, one with extra-runny. One had the hash-browns (sorry hash-brown)missing. It came on a plate, see photo, when the rest of the breakfast was cold. Coffee was lovely. Matt, the manager, explained that 'sometimes a table is just unlucky'... I feel that it was more that the chap taking our order just did not engage, i.e. listen.

Had lunch in the restaurant, ordered the belly pork which unusually was dry n tough, plus the knife could barely cut the potato let alone the meat. It was tasty though, especially the gravy. Very small portions of vegetables definitely not worth £30.

Stunning food, beautifully presented and a joy to eat. Service was impeccable, the right balance of friendliness, efficiency and attention to detail. Lovely surroundings overlooking the harbour. I was spoiled for choice on the menu but eventually settled for a light and delicate twice booked souffle followed by an imaginative fish medley with a heavenly side portion of super crispy, triple cooked chips. Somehow I managed to squeeze in dessert, and so glad that I did! I enjoyed an exquisite strawberry mille feuille, rich and delicate made with the thinnest and crispest puff pastry. Just perfect! Special thanks to Tim and Robert for looking after us so well. HIGHLY recommended.

We stayed here, it is idylic, beautiful location. Luke was very attentive, James was very helpful and Mo lovely and chatty. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Breakfast was lovely, fresh soft fruits, fresh pastries, fresh squeezed juices, premium beverages, cooked breakfast yummy. Evening meals wow oh wow, fish dishes omg out of this world. Deserts scrumptious. Now the spa was spotless, lovely hydrotherapy pool saua. Want treatments book in advance as they are very popular. The spa receptionist lady with glasses was lovely. I cant rate this place highly enough.

Been to the club many times. Food good but not inexpensive. However. Not only do they charge for parking but Senior management arguing on the restaurant floor in full view of customers. Very disappointing. Chewton glen and priory better and no more costly.

I like to give praise where it is due and the Captain's Club restaurant certainly deserves it after my recent visit for afternoon tea to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday with family. From the initial booking and emails etc to confirm to see if we could bring our little dog to the allocation of our table and service whilst enjoying the ambience and of course a superb selection of sandwiches, sausage roll,wraps,scones, petite pastries and of course a worthy selection of teas!! A waiter even appeared with a chocolate decorated plate of Happy 60th birthday with a few handmade chocolates 😊 mmmmm.

Really disappointed. Had a business lunch there a month or so ago and had a reasonable experience so thought I'd try booking for an evening meal. Booked a week or so in advance for a special occasion for a family of 4 . Made reservation online and mentioned the special occasion. Was seated at probably the worst table in the restaurant listening to the front of house staff chatting. Typically most hosts would have enquired about the special occasion by this point, but the host really wasn't that interested. Thankfully was able to move tables. Staff seemed generally disinterested and unhappy in serving and highly disorganised. Good examples. Ordered bread and it arrives after some of the starter had arrived, three out of four mains arrive, the other doesn't - have to wait ages to even catch someones eye to enquire about the 4th main, plates left for ages on table before being cleared (it took two hours to have starters, main and dessert), table water not refilled etc. Food was ok - but some dishes left under hotplates for a long time so very dry. There's no ownership at the staff level for the dining experience - we were probably served by 5 or 6 different people... so the person who took our order wasn't the person who brought the food - so they didn't know that they had only brought 3 of the four dishes. The person who brought the dishes so knows when we were served, didn't clear them etc. Had to keep trying to get people's attention to do basic things like clear the plates, get the 4th dish, refill the water. Saw staff walking out in a 'huff' when presumably their shift had finished. All in all just a bit sub par and when you're paying around £80 per head you would expect better - imho definitely not a place to go for a special occasion type meal.

Really disappointed. Have been to this restaurant previously when the service was really good, however, we were left sitting in the bar area without any drinks service at all. We were told we would have to go to the bar and even then the service was slow. There didn't appear to be any reason for this as the restaurant and bar were very quiet. When ordering our meal we received four wrong dishes and on one item were tod they thought we would be sharing! No idea why they thought that. Food was mediocre at best, salmon fishcakes tasteless.

nice ambiance quiet relaxing with attentive staff. food good, but not impressive tbh bit disappointed. chicken snitzel over cooked and dry thankfully had an unusual sauce, no veg but a mass of rocket which was difficult to eat stringy and huge. would have preferred some proper vegetables. fish nicely cooked bit tasteless otherwise great venue. would visit again but choose something different, that was the other problem, bit limited on menu choices.

Really enjoyed our lunch at the Captains Club overlooking the lovely river. Staff as always very polite, attentive and available but not obtrusive and above their station as in some local establishments! Our server went over and beyond checking with the kitchen that my dish was suitable for my allergy. We enjoyed a lovely leisurely lunch, and whilst the lounge area was busy the diners were well spaced out. The food was beautifully presented and all dishes cooked to perfection. Suggest if it’s a nice day, take a drink or coffee out into the terrace and watch the activity on the river. Will certainly be back. Keep up the excellent work.

I have been coming weekly, treatment is helping my condition. Spa manager Emma, and therapist Kasia have both been able to advise me on some of my muscle issues, whilst doctors and specialists have been unable to. So I am very grateful and thankful. I have been able to take this information and get further help from other specialists. I can highly recommend the treatments and spa for injuries, and muscle problems. The heat of the Spa, sauna and hydrotherapy pool together with the calm & tranquil environment are all helping my body heal. Complimentary herbal tea, iced lemon & lime water - You can order coffee, and other beverages poolside side. All this soothes your body and mind and makes for a very relaxing experience indeed. Perfect!

Went to the captains club for my birthday and I have to say that the food was not up to its usual standard knowing it was a Sunday and they were busy did not want to complain so instead phoned and spoke to Harry the bar and restaurant manager on the Monday. Who aides me he would be speaking to the chef and emailing me on Tuesday unfortunately no email arrived and when I phoned back was advised he was on holiday for a week but they would get him to email me when he returned. This email did not arrive and I sent an email which again I’ve had no response from , if this is their customer service it is not good and though I enjoy the location and usually the quality of the food this is put me off going back.

This was our second 3 night stay since our previous one in February, this time with another couple. Once again we cannot fault this hotel - magnificent rooms, amazing ambiance and the quality of ALL the staff second to none. Special thanks (in no particular order) to Luke, James, Harry, Katie, David & Shannagh and the housekeeping staff for being so efficient and helpful and always with a smile. Apologies to anyone missed out. We will definitely be back again as soon as we can. Just one tiny niggle - room for improvement in the quality of the tissues supplied in the rooms.

Long Covid - I regularly use the Spa which is helping this, especially the Hot Stone massage. The therapists and Spa staff are very kind, always happy to help. Nothing is ever too much. The heat in the Spa, the hydrotherapy pool and sauna all help my condition too. What is great is that only a few people can use the facilities at one time, making it perfect for a deeper relaxation, calm and peacefulness! It's heaven! There are sunloungers to lay down on.

We stayed at the Captain's Club for 3 nights, it is a lovely bright purpose built hotel next to the river, with a smart yet relaxed ambience. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was delicious and there was a good variety to choose from. What makes the Captain's Club special is the staff, thank you to all those we interacted with, the breakfast ladies, the gentlemen waiting staff and mixologists (I particularly enjoyed the house Monkey Punch and the Boulevardier, thank you Tommo for the time you spent talking to us to find out what I wanted in terms of a dessert cocktail), the staff at reception who helped us with our tandem bicycle, and the housekeeping team who not only keep the room and hotel spotless and smelling lovely but looked after our travelling companion (Mr Camel) so well :)
